Found out that the principle decided to take matters into her own hands by cutting a students hair. His dreads. The faculty is hiding behind the truth, this is CHILD ABUSE. The Superintendent claims there is not evidence BUT how can there be if it was done IN THE PRINCIPALS OFFICE.

I am a school principal in Michigan. There is absolutely NO WAY I would ever invade a students personal space by touching their hair, much less cutting it! I am sickened and appalled.

How can cutting a students hair be justified by the school's faculty. We need to take pride in who we are. If someone said my daughter's couldn't express themselves because of their hair and took it upon themselves to change the color I would pull them out of school and file a a lawsuit for discriminations . They go to school to learn not be shamed!

Aztlan Betancourt

How does the principal have the audacity to cut someone else’s child’s hair. The principal needs to be replaced for someone who isn’t going to make a child feel insecure because of their hair.

Wonderful example of how disgustingly entitled, racist, and cruel America can be. Send your kids here if you like therapy sessions.

Watching from Michigan. Talk about living down to every southern stereotype... When is the last time you heard about a white child’s hair being cut by a school official? I’d love to hear about it. I don’t think I will hear any examples, though. Why is this a big deal? It’s only hair, right? It will grow back, right? It’s a big deal, because it’s a perfect example of micro aggression and white entitlement. In 2018, it is still viewed as acceptable for a white person to intrude upon the bodily autonomy of a black person. How many Caucasian grade schoolers run around with their stringy bangs in their faces? Hello, Justin Bieber? Every little blond girl ever? Can you imagine if a black principle did this to little Becky because she wouldn’t keep her barrettes in? Whooo!!! No way, would that be tolerated. Becky’s unruly bangs are viewed viewed as just normal childhood. When a black child wears the same, it is viewed as defiance. Black children are constantly viewed as more disobedient than white children of the same age who do the same things. These poor babies are subjected to the consequences of white supremacy as early as preschool. I’m not making this up. Do some research.

Not only do you cut a student's hair, but you take a young African American boy. Times are already tough and you cut his hair. His beautiful hair and his pride. No. Not all his pride or identity is in his hair, but to put him down at such a young age when you as a school system know better. It makes me sick and I hope this will forever haunt this school that they took a child and made him feel less for his hair. Simply because it was "Too long".

Any school that tolerates the assault of an autistic black child by the principal needs to change their ways. I can't imagine the injustices the other disabled and colored children face. A total disgrace of an institution.

I believe this administration cut that child’s hair and is looking for a way to cover up what they did. Shame on all parties involved.

Naimah Najeeullah

Not right what the principal did to that child's hair .

Liu Caine

Isn't cutting someone's hair against their will assault?

I don't think the hairdressers here are even qualified. Only thing they know how to do is cut dreads off your fringe, and they don't even ask if you want that or not.

Ron Anarchy

Staff should know to keep their hands to their self.

Naomi Oliver

Principal here has physically assaulted a child by cutting their locs with no notification or permission of the parent(s). This is assault, should this have happened in the street this is admissible for an arrest. This shouldn't stand for an administrator.

Angel Selby

Has a principal that finds it completely acceptable to cut your child's hair, because it was in their face! Did not contact the parents! Made the traumatized child pick his own hair up! DISGUSTING, UNACCEPTABLE, ABUSIVE BEHAVIOR!

GingyGina

Disgusting treatment of students, staff have no right to cut the hair off a student and they don't even have the decency to admit to their dirty deed.

Montse Reyes

Queen Pendragon

Can't help but notice that the school made no mention of an attempt to throughly investigate the matter and have instead chosen to simply deny everything. You had no right to cut that boy's hair.

Seana Parker

Staff need to learn boundaries! If a principal thinks it is acceptable to CUT a child’s HAIR?! What other liberties are being taken???

Melanie Vee

Has a Principal that knows no personal boundaries and physically modified a child's appearance without permission from their parents. Do not approve of this abuse of authority.

Liz Holifield

Shanique Pearson

I'm sorry, but when is it okay to cut a child's hair off without permission of the parent? NEVER.

Ashley LaRae

Principal CUT a childs hair without authorized consents from the child's parent

Charity England
