Wonderful community school with a well maintained gym 1937 gymnasium that had High School Basketball played in it until Johnson Central was built to consolidate the small high schools. Flat Gap Elementary's gym is the only old high school gym left that is still used for elementary basketball now in Johnson County. The school is set in the rural farm lands of Flat Gap, Kentucky and is a Activating Catalytic Transformation school which is using designated time daily to implement Non-Mastery time where students work with their teachers in groups of 5 or smaller daily to help students who haven't mastered their daily learning target fill in the missing gaps so that they may be successful.
