REVIEWS OF Providence Christian Academy IN Georgia

Providence is a wonderful school. The administration, faculty, coaches, students and families we've encountered over the past six years, having had two kids in the school, have been great. The college-prep curriculum has been challenging and has prepared my kids to do well in college. The STEM, arts and sports programs have added so much to my kids' education and to making us feel like a part of this community. The teachers and administration truly care about all of the kids, despite negative reviews and comments by children/families who are no longer in the school or never attended the school. Teachers, in particular, at Providence spend countless hours with kids who struggle academically, and it's unfortunate that some of these same kids/their families can only post negative comments. Please read between the lines of some of these negative reviews. Hopefully, if you've been to any school or sent your kids to any school, you realize there is no perfect school. Having said that, the administration and faculty have been responsive to any concerns I have raised over my time here. They truly care about the school, the families and the children, desiring to impact them for Christ.

We have had a daughter graduate from Providence that was accepted into UGA early. Our son is a rising senior and is being pursued by many Ivy League colleges. So Providence is obviously doing something right academically. But more than that, Providence has given our kids opportunities they would never have had at other schools. Our daughter had never played softball prior to coming to Providence, yet she was able to play all four years of high school and lettered three of those years. Our son has been able to be competitive in cross country and track thanks to the encouragement of wonderful coaches. Our son is also one of the leaders of the Axis band. Axis is the worship time that is the center of the week because Providence wants God to be the center of all we do. Our son taught himself to play the guitar and he now gets to be on stage every week. The Axis team is made up of a very diverse group of students that have a great desire to grow in their spiritual walk and encourage others to do the same. There are speakers each week that encourage and challenge the students in their faith. Though Providence wants the students to do their best academically, their character and spiritual development is just as important to the school. The small class size allows the teachers to really get to know their students and mentor them. Our kids have had so many teachers and coaches that have been incredibly intentional in their interactions with them. Is Providence perfect? Nope. Not by a long shot. But I challenge people to show me any school that is perfect. It’s not possible because they don’t exist. Nor do perfect people exist. Yet I have total confidence that the heart of our leadership is in the right place. They have an incredible desire to provide our students with a safe environment where they can learn, grow and thrive.

Providence Christian Academy has been one of the biggest blessings in our family's story. We are impressed with the education our son has received and we are changed forever by the friendships we have made. PCA is true to its mission to provide excellence in Christ-centered education.

I could not have asked for a better experience as a student at Providence! Now I'm blessed to have our kids attend, and it's a joy to watch them thrive both spiritually and academically. We are so thankful to be part of the Providence community!

After two LONG years at public school, we made the switch to Providence Christian Academy. It sounds so cliche’, but it has been the best decision we’ve ever made. Everyone at PCS is so welcoming, and nice! Our prayers have been answered

Providence Christian Academy has provided a Christ-centered, high academic, learning environment for my daughter. She has grown in her faith and enjoys a smaller class size than the public school system. She has made many friends from different backgrounds, culturally and ethically. We are glad that she attends a school where the administration considers safety a top priority.

I went to this school here in the 90s and am now a parent with 3 children here (our 5th year). From the top down this place is led by people whom I respect and love wholeheartedly, and my appreciation continues to grow each year. They are intentional about every decision they make, and they work so hard to work with parents and students, covering everything in prayer. They are professional, and yet they make you feel at home. They don't claim to be perfect, and are very open to feedback, which shows their heart. The facilities are clean and inviting, with appropriate safety precautions and security personnel in place (while not burdensome). At the risk of sounding overly simplistic, the faculty and staff are just nice, Christ-centered people all around. They really are. I can't say enough. You just have to come see for yourself. Google reviews (in general) can sometimes be misleading, and tend to hit the extremes, so I recommend you just come check it out and talk to people yourself. For my 2 cents, I'm more than happy to brag about Providence.

Providence Christian Academy is a fantastic school - strong academics, plenty of athletics with coaches who invest in their players on & off the field, and teachers who know the students' names and care about each one of them. It is one of the few Christian schools in the Atlanta area that will actually encourage, support and love on those with learning challenges. Our two boys have absolutely thrived here. I am thankful the school Administration cares so deeply for all of the students.

I really don't understand why this amazing school received 2 negative reviews. Please ignore those reviews, because they are clearly incorrect. While I am now an alumni, I attended this school for the majority of my high school years. I would not trade that time for anything in the world. Some of the best memories of my life are rooted in Providence, either by the truly wonderful teaching staff, or by the awesome service opportunities presented to students. This is a Christian school spanning elementary through high, and while I had little interaction with the non-high school area, I can still confidently say that those areas are just as wonderful as the high school section from the times that I did visit. The teachers and staff care about the students and the teachers, they are NOT just a source of income. I honestly forged lifelong friendships with some of my teachers, and I never had any instances of abuse or harassment from any staff member - unlike the time I spent at public schools. You could not find a better school to place your children in. When I have children, this is where they will go.

I'm getting ready to enter my 4th and senior year at this institution of learning, and while life and this school aren't perfect, its not too shabby. Sure, my high school experience has not been without its challenges, academically and socially, but I've never felt like any opportunity was out of reach. I'm a ridiculous and idiosyncratic person, and while not everyone exactly gets me, I've been able to find a group of people who I enjoy doing high school life with and can look to for support, encouragement, and overall friendship. There are still those that don't necessarily get me or appreciate me. One has even written me an email expressing such sentiments, but I guess I've just come to learn that that's just life. Academically, my high school career hasn't been all rainbows and butterflies either, but now as I prepare to begin applying for colleges this fall, I feel entirely equipped. Some teachers are better than others. Some teachers are more caring than others. Some classes are more difficult than others. Its not perfect, but if the goal of high school is to prepare me for college, then I think that goal has been accomplished. Beyond that, I've had the opportunity of being taught, led, and mentored by teachers and coaches both inside and outside of the classroom. Spiritually, the Axis (think weekly chapel with a different name) ministry has been something that constantly helps me grow and refocus me in my faith. Overall, its not a perfect place, and my high school experience hasn't been without things that I would have probably liked to change, but through the its triumphs and its challenges, I'm glad that this is where I've gone to high school. I've grown in the classroom and out and been helped by students and by teachers, and I am grateful for the impact that it has made in developing me and preparing me for life.

We have been at PCA for seven years and absolutely love it!! I am amazed every day with how much thought, effort, and energy is put into doing the right thing for everyone there and for those not yet there. Before you form an opinion of this school from the reviews posted, please come visit and make the decision based on your own experience!!

Providence has been a great school for my boys. It has offered a wide range of extra curricular activities in a Christian environment with strong academics. The administrstion and teachers are very supportive and encouraging. It has prepared them well for college and the rest of their lives.

My family transitioned our son into 6th grade at Providence Christian Academy. We were coming from a smaller Christian school and wanted him to grow, in middle school and high school, with the same group of friends. Not only has our son thrived at PCA, he has made ( and maintained) the strongest friendships ever. The curriculum is equally challenging and fun. The middle school hallway is a very special environment, filled with teachers who truly LOVE and EMBRACE these kids, with all the challenges that come with being a pre-teen. And high school has been the same experience. The administration has been 100% hands on for us, in what has been our most challenging year to date. No school is perfect, but when there's been an issue, we address it and it's handled with respect and great care. As we march forward towards 10th grade, it's with peace and joy, knowing that our son will be taking care. PCA gives each student the opportunity to explore, learn and THRIVE.

This was my daughter's first semester at Providence transferring from another school. I will say that I am so glad I followed my heart from the school tour to the car stickers that reminded me to go forth with my transfer. She is in the elementary school and I am so impressed with the amount of creativity of the teachers and staff that allow these kids to blossom individually as well as collectively. They definitely keep the 'learning while having fun' motto active at all times. My daughter's excitement for school and passion for learning has been restored back to my little girl from the stifling environment of her previous setting. I look forward to many more wonderful years at Providence Christian Academy!!!

My daughter has met the most wonderful and intelligent friends at Providence. She is part of the STEM Scholar program in which has has had numerous opportunities to discover her various passions in engineering. I love how involved she is in the school while still being able to take high levels of rigor in her classes. I feel she has gotten a truly wonderful education especially in the maths and sciences. We love how the class has numerous opportunities to grow together as a whole community as well as followers of Jesus Christ. Their worship team, AXIS, is like no other. The AXIS team provides true spiritual leadership in the school as well as a connective fiber throughout the grades. We are thankful that she has had 4 wonderful years at this precious school. We are so appreciative to all the teachers some of which we have got to know personally through school trips and activities. We are especially appreciative of the care and love they show towards their students. It is a wonderful school for anyone intrested in a covenant relationship with their child school.

Love this school and everything about it. From the moment I walked through the front doors, I could feel God's presence and the feeling of family. The teachers and staff are compassionate, hard working and are always striving to get the best out of their students.

Please take your hard earned dollars, your valuable volunteer time and precious children someplace else. GAC is right down the road and worlds better. Some excellent staff, parents, students and teachers. However, administration and board are misguided. PCA is underfunded, struggling to make it. They have lowered standards as a result. They hire and promote from within, so culture never changes. Well meaning, but misguided leadership.

Stay far away from this place. I hate having to leave a negative review, but I met someone today that went to Providence and is completely agnostic now. My mother put us in the school after losing our father and as we grew high school age I did not have any male direction in my life. I got in trouble and instead of doing something to help, the community rejected our entire family. They God they teach is not the real Father in heaven. God loved me the entire time I went through all my trials, and the heads of this school and all faculty implied that God rejected me and so should they. If you want to join a Judgmental Christian Cult, by all means this is the place for you and your children!

Love this school---as a mom and as an employee. Only school in all of Georgia with STEM k-12. Our average student scores in the 89th percentile in the nation. Stunning theatrical productions. On and on. Take a tour!

My child went to Providence for three years. She was singled out for liking Harry Potter as this was not the Christian values they promoted. During her final year they recommend she take a specialized math class to improve her math skills. The class was one teacher and 3 students and increased our tuition by 1/3 for the year. She received an "A" during the school year in her specialized math class and was concerned because she seemed to still be struggling in math in my opinion. I asked her teacher and was reassured she was making great strides in math and doing well. We received her test results and she actually scored lower in math than the previous year. We spent 4-5K for nothing!!! When we confronted the school they made no apologies or explanation other than they would look into it. We pulled our daughter out of Providence and she actually was behind in math compared to her public school peers! Paying $15-20K for a school in a strip mall, limited sports programs and lazy administration seems like a bad deal.
