Since the First academy is a Christ centered collage preparatory school does it celebrate New year's Eve and Christmas and Valentine's day and Easter it does not celebrate Halloween?

TFA is amazing, they provide us with high quality education and good academics getting us ready for college. In English class we discussed Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde, and I had a great time reading and learning from the book's plot. Also, in Mrs.Cantu's Spanish class I learned how to have a good conversation in Spanish, and talk about food in spanish– this is very helpful because now I can read from the menu in Hispanic restaraunts. Overall TFA is a wonderful learning experience that I enjoy and I hope you will too.

I'm always for more education that way you can help the young children development to take their rightful place in life.

This is an amazing school. I've been going to this school for 4 years and I have learned so much. They have taught me so much about character and how to live a better life. If I were you and I had kids, I wouldn't hesitate to put my kids into The First Academy.

This school sounds like a great school. However, I am a bit disappointed that the tuition is so high to be located in the area it is located in. It's sad to know that this great school is in our community but the children who live in the community can't afford to attend. My daughter is highly intelligent and she wants a Christian education but can't afford to go to your school. I chose this school because it not only have the education but other activities that other Christian schools in the surrounding area don't offer. You can't even use the scholarships offered without having to pay more and it is still a very high tuition. So, my question is why is the tuition so high in an area full of low income families?

I was so excited about this school for my son. The coordinator was actually a sales person. Marketing big time. We bought into it. My son was treated horrible at this school. He was in Kindergarten . I was treated the same way ...horrible. Please think twice about putting your child at this school.

The First Academy offers all the programs that any of your children would need: 8 week-old babies - 3 years old, K-4 through high school, home-school, and also a special needs school. They offer all the services your child may need under just one school! That is so unique! It is a family environment, all working together to help all students achieve and all students understand the love of Christ!

It’s pretty good I guess. The teachers are nice and want you to do your best. It’s a good school but I feel like people make TFA seem like a super great school when really it’s just like any other private school academically and environmentally. It’s a bit overrated. The majority of people here have a good faith in Christ so that’s good thing. Also, it’s an apple distinguished school. The staff are kind but like I said, I guess I was expecting more for a highly rated private school with a somewhat high tution.

I attended The Classical School, and I honestly must say that this is the best school I have ever attended. There are no discipline issues here, the students are very courteous here, and teachers are professional. I could go on forever maybe, but I strongly recommend The First Academy and The Classical School to any parent and student.

My child has been attending The First Academy's Lower School for over 3 years. It has been amazing to see how much she has grown both academically and spiritually! Our family is forever grateful for the teachers who have invested in our child's life.

The First Academy is a wonderful school. The warm and loving atmosphere at TFA has been so welcoming. The teachers are fantastic and eager to see your child succeed by offering assistance and help when needed. I would encourage anyone considering a private school to call TFA and set up a tour and arrange for your child to "shadow" another student.

Excellent school - you get what you pay for. Easily our top choice in central Florida. Very good administration, excellent teachers and staff, top notch academics and extra curricular activities. Couldn't be happier! Yes it's expensive but the return on investment is very high. Worth every penny!

Both my husband and I are graduates of public school system and we never considered Christian education for our children. However, after visiting and getting to know The First Academy, my husband and I were excited to partner with the school in shaping and molding our children to become Christian leaders. Faculty and staff have created the most safe and loving environment that encourages healthy way of learning. We are confident that the spiritual development and academic preparation will help our children becoming world changers in this generation.

The First Academy School brings two words to mind for me: Excellence and Quality. The staff and educators are not only of highest quality, they do their work with their hearts....truly as unto the Lord. At this school, you get a sense of joy. You can see the looks on the faces of the students that they are having a great experience in their day to day learning. The First Academy has so much to offer including a home school option. The most important factor, of course, is that they truly focus and represent the message of Christ.

It is a joy to be a part of The First Academy. The students are extremely polite and well-mannered, and the faculty and staff go above and beyond to prepare students academically, socially and spiritually to go out into the world.

I’m 31 now but attended The First Academy and I am so happy my parents made the choice to send me to TFA. I attended from 4th grade to 12th grade and I can truly say that I cannot imagine how different my life would have been without TFA in my life. These are great people that try hard to prepare students for life and while no one is perfect and every institution may not be perfect for everyone, I can honestly say that you will not find a better institution for learning, sports, and personal growth than The First Academy! Give your child the head start you wish you had and let them be proud to be a Royal!

I love TFA. We gave public school a try for a couple of years when we first moved to Orlando. We thought since they were A rated schools in Dr. Phillips that we were going to be fine. Although they were great schools, our son was struggling with boredom. He wasn't being challenged at all. Not to mention that several class mates could barely read, this was in 2nd grade. After recommendation from a family friend, we switched to The First Academy. It is one of the best decisions we have ever made regarding education. This is our second year at TFA, our son is challenged with work that causes him to think and figure things out, he thinks totally different about school and is building lifelong friendships with students that I know have the same moral standards as my family. In addition, I love that they pray every day and actually keep high biblical standards. The teachers really care and take a personal interest in getting to know each student and doing what they can to help that child succeed. Mrs. Diehl was an amazing teacher. I've never met a teacher that went so far out of the way to help your child succeed but still care enough to discipline properly when my child wasn't an angel. I know as time goes on, work will continue to become more challenging and prepare him for college. I think the college prep aspect could be integrated a bit more, but I am sure when we get to middle school that aspect will increase along with the level of difficulty. The work is good and keeps our son busy. I love their integration with technology. I also love that the college acceptance rate is 100%. I am confident that whatever college we choose when that time comes, our son will get accepted immediately. As the school works hard to educate our son, we work hard on our end to do the same. I think TFA is a great school to partner with and our son loves it.

I have attended The First Academy for 9 years and am now a Freshmen. This school has been a positive contribution to my life, both spiritually and educationally. My 8th Grade English teacher taught me some valuable life and writing lessons and my Middle School Art teacher showed me that art can define you. Because of teachers like these, I appreciate the arts, service and have learned to love learning. Small classes, like their Genius Bar, are great ways to make friends and get hands on learning about a subject. For the most part, the faculty at the school have been inviting and nice, and hope to one day call them my friends. I enjoy waking up and knowing I have the privilege to attend The First Academy.

I love the diversity and the love my family has experienced at TFA. The true test is how my son loves it!

I have spent almost a decade teaching at TFA. I can't wait to send my kids there when they are school-aged. The community of families, staff, and administration is unparalleled. The expectations are high for teachers and I always felt challenged, supported, and valued. The leadership team is visionary and inspires staff to achieve excellence. I was provided with many resources to grow as an educator, a believer, and as a parent. This is the type of school you attend, return to teach at, send your kids to, and repeat the cycle. Generations of families have ties to TFA, and that is rare to see in schools these days. The level of instruction for students is high and teachers collaborate often to find new ways to challenge, grow, and engage the students they love dearly. Students here have gone on to successfully graduate from top ten universities. The school consistently places its graduates at Florida's best colleges each year. Students from all divisions compete in athletic, arts, and academic competitions where they receive numerous awards. It feels like a genuine family there. That made such a difference to me. Hands down this is one of the best schools in Orlando.

The First Academy is a wonderful school! I have children in both the Preschool and the Lower School and they are loved, cared for, and academically challenged on a daily basis. I could not ask for a better environment for my children.

It is not often in life that an experience exceeds your expectations. TFA has been an exception to that for our whole family. We feel so lucky to send our daughter to such a special school. Our daughter is known, loved, challenged and guided by all of the faculty and staff. The example set by and the relationship between the Upper, Middle and Lower School has had a really positive impact on our daughter. There is a sense of community and spirit that we feel we would be hard pressed to find in any other school.

We have five children at The First Academy, one in the Upper School, one in the Middle School and three in the Lower School. I can truly say that TFA is a family. They treat each child as a precious gift from the Lord, with unique skills and abilities. I love that on one campus, in one afternoon, I can take all of my children to the Book Fair, pick up my Middle School child from marching band, and then go see my high schooler in a play, appropriate for the whole family. But, the best thing about TFA is the Christ-centered atmosphere, where an authentic walk with Christ is modeled and nurtured. We are blessed to be a part of the TFA family!

Considering that as a church there should always be the desire to help others, limiting the amount of students able to attend with a scholarship is very disappointing.

Windermere Mom

My children attended The First Academy for five years. My oldest graduated from TFA with a 4.3 GPA and failed in his first year of college. TFA has excellent, kind teachers, but there is a tremendous amount of grace extended to those that are slow in turning things in or not preparing for tests. This does not prepare students for college. TFA touts a 100% college acceptable rate, although, many of those acceptances are to Valencia, and does not track college graduation rates. Several moms have approached me about the lack of college preparedness that results from a TFA education. After our first child graduated, we changed schools for our other children. TFA is a wonderful, pleasant place to be, but it does not prepare your child for college.
