School is alright, for that is all you can say. I’ll be narrowing this review in different categories- Teachers, Learning, Atmosphere, Food, & Property- Teachers- The most hard subject to base on, ahh teachers. Teachers at Newark Charter School (I’ll be abbreviating NCS) are all different. You can tell some teachers are here just to be working for the best school in Delaware, and you can also tell the teachers who are their who love to teach and love children. Most teachers are here for the right reasons but always know every teacher will not be. Learning- Kids learn hard stuff, I mean hard stuff. Especially those in grades 6-12, the homework will be pressuring and will take time. Tests and quizzes are often hard too. In grades 4th threw 12th their are things called “phases” which basically identifies the child’s learning rank. There’s a phase three, four, and five. Making the phase three’ers the weakest learners, the fours the average, and five doing work a grade ahead. Phases really pressure kids making thoughts like- Maybe I’m not good enough?, I’m only in phase three. Atmosphere- If your kid is in the Primary School (k-3) then you’ll have mostly friendly teachers, easy work, and nice cute “little kids” The atmosphere’s great, quite the best out of the three campuses. The Intermediate School (4-6) is definitely a step of maturity for kids. Their the “tweeners” of the campus and you can expect some “cute little kid” feeling but mostly you feel the tweeners embracing their maturing to their teens. Ah, now the Jr/Sr. High School, (7-12) This school is going threw that puberty phase but also young adult phase. You can expect a muture, low-key environment, but you can also expect a inappropriate dirty feeling, especially with the seventh threw ninth graders who cuss and talk dirty during lunch, the hallways, and the bus (don’t get me started with the busses here) Food- NCS doesn’t have your natural, home-cooked love meals that you personally cook. Of course there’s always an option of packing lunch but for this section we’re talking about buying. The food here is terrible! They get it from big trucks that you just heat up. They sell them for about $2 each that you preorder online. The food is sometimes soggy, wet, stale, undercooked, or over. Trust me, pack a lunch. Property- This potion is just to give you knowledge about NCS. Theirs two campuses, Patriot Way and McIntire Drive, Patriot Way is the campus that connects the two buildings. (Primary and Intermediate) The whole area is kindergarten to sixth grade. Next over at McIntire Drive is the Jr/Sr. High School that holds so many kids in one building!! It’s seventh to twelfth grade.

Very Good School.

NCS has worked super hard with my child this year! Having trouble adjusting from “daycare” to “Kidergarden” wasn’t necessarily the easiest for my child. Also very high energy making it hard for her to focus. The teachers she had were absolutely amazing! Very patient and informative. Not only did they work super hard with my child but they kept open/easy communication with me. I couldn’t be more greatful to be blessed with the opportunity for my daughter to end up at this school with such amazing people helping her everyday.
