REVIEWS OF Children Of America Hockessin IN Delaware

My child attended for a little over a month. At first I loved the center. As time went on I started to notice things that were concerning as a parent. My daughter was to be in the toddler B room considering her age but due to another child’s biting my daughter was placed in a room full of one year olds who were way younger than her. The center has video cameras for parents to view children and I saw the toddler B teacher walking across the room holding a child upside down. Both toddler teachers are not very nurturing and talk to the kids as if they are adults. My daughter had been drinking off of another child’s cup all day that clearly had another child’s name on it and the teach was rude and did not take accountability for it when confronted about it. I understand they are toddlers they will come across toys that were in another child’s mouth but to be drinking off of another kids cup and in a sense sharing cups is extremely unsanitary and shows the teacher(s) are not paying close attention to these things. I also sense some sort of favoritism in the center. One toddler teacher disclosed to me she had a particular child since she was an infant and therefore was the root of why this child seemed to be “spoiled” in the class. All of the kids should be treated equally. Another toddler teacher babysits outside of the center and it shows how she favors those particular students. My daughter woke up from a nap and was constantly redirected to go lay back down after standing up from her cot after nap time. As another child did the same thing the toddler B teacher had the child come over, sit on her lap and started playing in her hair. My daughter was sleeping and her entire face was covered with a blanket as if it was placed there purposely. No one got up to move it or even notice it. I had to call the director and tell her to have the teacher remove it. I got a call not too long after telling me my daughters eyes were extremely swollen. I am extremely thankful for the video camera as it has exposed a lot of truth and prevented anything serious happening to my child by me being able to view what is going on.

*warning* as a parent if safety is your concern do not send your children to this center. My daughter was bullied and injured by another student and nothing was done about it. The director isn’t professional and shouldn’t be responsible for children. I immediately moved my child for her safety.

Our family loves Ms. Amanda! She is such an amazing teacher, she always knows just how to handle the craziness of a room full of two year olds. It's great to have open communication with the team at COA, anytime I have a concern it is discussed right away and with the open lines of communication the concern is addressed in a way that we tackle together creating better results. Thank you Amanda for taking great care of my boy!

I began working at COA in May 2018, and it has been an incredible experience getting to know the children and staff! The lead teacher in the Preschool II classroom, Hayly, keeps a wonderful balance of learning and play! I would love for you to come and visit our classroom, and experience it for yourself!

Our Children attend COA Hockessin and they love it. The center does a great job of implementing their curriculum. Ms. Hayley & Ms. Grace are caring and compassionate, and also are excellent educators. Our child is constantly learning and improving. And our 1 year old loves her teachers, Miss Kacie and Ms Rita. It like our home away from home. The center keeps us informed of our children's progress and behavior and the pictures and videos they post make us feel as if we are a part of their day. COA also does a good job of keeping the parent involved with extracurricular activities.

The entire staff at COA is wonderful, especially Ms. Amanda. They really take the time to learn about your child and provide the best quality care. There are innovative with activities for the children and learning focused all year long. My daughter has been attending COA since she was four months old. She loves it here!
