Basically, extended family! My daughter always feels very welcome when she goes to visit (now 14)! And my son is nurtured in many ways more than just academically (which I value)! Garfield elementary teaches compassion, respect, caring and many other characteristics that are valued! I could not ask for a better environment for my child/ren. Mr. Bowman and his staff are by far the BEST!

I'm beyond livid with the behavior of other children. My kids keep getting bullied by other kids. My son got scratched and will have a black eye and my daughter got a hit in the nose and had a bloody nose. I've been talking to the school about this. I've had about three or so calls. The teacher wanted to blame my child and say he was targeting other kids. No he's the one being bullied. If they don't fix this I'll transfer them. And there will be big problems.

Our oldest daughter (now 11) attended Garfield School from kindergarten through third grade (2007-2011). Looking back on the decision to leave Garfield in order to be closer to my family in the time they have left, I regret the decision to leave. The children would have been far better off staying in Garfield School and never seeing their grandparents again. Garfield is not a wealthy school. It is not, perhaps, a scintillatingly high-achieving school. It is, however, a school that is truly there to serve its students-- a place where all learn, all belong, and all succeed. My children now attend a wealthy, highly-ranked Eastern public school. At Garfield, I felt as if the teachers and administration were part of the team raising my kids. At our fine new school, I feel as if the teachers and administration are raising my kids, and I am not welcome to be part of the process. If I could go back to Garfield, I would be packing right now. Best doggone school in the country, if you ask me.

I absolutely LOVE Garfield Elementary School. My daughter attended a supposively "better" school for two years but cried in the morning because she did not want to go to school. We enrolled her in Garfield Elementary and now she loves school! The teachers are fabulous and the principal, Mr. Bowman, is dedicated, hands-on and focused on education but (I believe) must also feel that education should be fun (because this is what my daughter feels). Now my daughter loves going to school. I also feel that she is receiving an academically superior education as evidenced by a recent visit to Massachusetts this Christmas. My nephew, same age as my daughter, didn't know how to divide and hadn't been exposed to fractions. And my daughter was a more fluent reader than he, as well. Garfield Elementary gave my daughter a love of learning and provides her with a superior education -- what more could a parent ask for?

This place is a great school, I have been at it for about 3 Year’s now. The Staff are so nice , the food is great It’s like a home away from home. It has a beautiful gym and a great garden.

My two kids pass out (2015 )from this school .This school is awesome .Staff or administration guys are awesome too.All teacher just love the kids and do their best to the kids.Miss Mayra and Miss Joslyn always cooperate with a happy smile .In my kids 4 years experience with this school always wonderful.love this school very much and love all my kids teachers ( miss _Redford,Galeone,Katie Tunca,Carol Scholz,Shauntel Atchley , Mr Henry and music teacher Teresa Colebrook). A big thanks to support my kids .
