Don't let these review stop you, go and get what you deserve. If you have busy schedule they will work with you. I work and have a 3 month old baby, and I'm doing it. The counselors and over all staff is awesome. Trust i tired community college and it was costly and I felt like I was going no where. i been attending since August of 2015, I at a 3.33 GPA. I'm in my 5th class, and I took them one by one. It is way better then community college, and you actually learn.

I spent a lot of time with this school and the lack of communication from counselors and advisers is surprising for the amount of money that is paid for classes. I was sent to collections for 2 classes I passed and should have been paid for by the VA. Finding it impossible to actually get in touch with someone to resolve this issue. They seem to respond quicker when you are a student but when you tell them enough is enough and you take your money and education somewhere else they don't care. I would find a better school before attending this one and spending your money.

I attended here for my Bachelor of Science in Management and I found no issue with any of my advisors or instructors. I am considering taking a Master in Management in the near future. GREAT SCHOOL!

They take your money and treat you like garbage. If you owe them money they refuse to clear you for classes until you pay it in full even if you agree to make payments. They tell you one thing and do the opposite and then months later tell you that you owe a debt and tell you that you cannot pursue any further classes. God forbid you have bad weather in your area and lose power and cannot post attendance, they have an automatic system that drops you and they don't give a damn why you couldn't make attendance. They expect everyone to have a smart phone and post on the mobile app in those cases. SAD excuse for a University.

If you are looking for online courses don't choose it. The representatives do not know nothing about international students. I spoke -at least- with 5 employees and no one could give directions to enrollment. One representative even said to me to ask for a visa to do an ONLINE single course. I travel a lot to work, so “What is the purpose of an online course?”. Horrible experience as a consumer. I choose UC Berkeley for my online studying purposes. Way more better!

I am an alumni at UOPX. I got my bachelor's and two master's degrees there. I thought I'd try for a 3rd one. I liked the format. But, turns out the 3rd degree was a bad idea. And, the wrong time in my life to attempt going back to school. As long as you are an ACTIVE student, attending full-time, you have their attention because they are getting your money. I recently had to withdraw from the program for personal reasons, and they did a 360. It went from always friendly and positive contact to nothing. They do not return phone calls or e-mails about your financial aid questions (or any other for that matter). I finally got someone to answer my questions and got conflicting information. I still don't have a straight answer to the question I ask. I am very disappointed with the University. They do NOT care about their students or alumnus. They care about the money they get. And, they are still holding student loan funds for me that I am being charged interest on. Their response...they are returning it to the lender. But, that has yet to happen. Don't get bamboozled by this school. You'll end up in a debt that could pay for a new construction home. And, your degree won't mean much. They make alot of promises they can't and don't keep.

Got my undergraduate and graduate degree here but if I had the choice to do it all over again I would. What a nightmare on a thousand levels. Outside in the real world, my degrees might as well have been from Cracker Jack boxes. And no Ashley, Community manager. I'm not going to send another worthless email. My review stands

Somehow this " University " allowed somebody to fraudulently obtain student loans in my name. I don't know if someone at the school was in on it or if there policies are to easy, but they allowed a criminal take 5000 dollars cash and never attended a class. After seeing it on my credit report I asked them about it and told them it wasn't me they sent me a packet they wanted me to fill out and I did they said that wasn't enough. So as you may know student loans are backed by federal board of education ( hence why they will hand them out like that) so now the loan has defaulted and is ruining my credit (which would be great if it weren't for them). They basically want me to prove I'm innocent instead of them proving I'm guilty. it's especially frustrating since I went to college and paid out of my own pocket. They have victimized me and I'll pay for it the rest of my life and no one seems to care...

Back in 2012 my daughter and I went through a house fire and almost lost our lives. At the time I was also enrolled as a student, taking classes through the online campus. The fire caused me to have to leave school temporarily (obviously because I didn't have a home or computer). However, university of phoenix doesn't seem to care about their students well being. All they care about is money instead. They are making me pay $1500 in student debt because I had no means to finish my classes (because my house burned down) when I spoke with a financial advisor they told me "it don't matter the circumstances, you are still responsible for paying for your classes". Keep in my that my daughter and I almost died but they expect me to still pay them money that I can't afford to pay. At this point it's putting yet another hindrance on my life because they refuse to release my transcript so that I can continue my education with another school. This is the most heartless school ever. I even offered to submit paperwork from red cross proving that I'm telling the truth but they denied it!

Students don't get the education they need. They might as well go to junior high and get a better education. This is not a reputable school to go to because the classes are a joke. Do not even think of getting a doctorate degree at phoenix university because it is worthless. Doctorate degrees are signed by faculty with MBAs...They don't even have the right accreditation to issue doctorate programs. You are warned! You won't be able to transfer your credits to another graduate program. Someone I know just couldn't transfer their program anywhere and had to start over, but the school got her in so much debt that she ended up with nothing! UOP charges so much money for crappy education that won't take you anywhere. They hire teachers with foreign transcripts that are not even approved by the US Department of Education that could have been printed from bump Egypt school of nowhere or from a jungle where monkeys are taught to climb trees. What a joke to call it a University!

Jesus Valencia

I'm a student here and I love it . The instructors are amazing the counselors are always very attentive and also very knowledgeable .

I thought choosing this University was gonna be awesome well I was totally wrong since I started they have done nothing but say I don’t know regarding every question I’ve had not to mention I’ve been in classes since January & it’s now April & the financial aid still is unsure what they are doing they really only want to end up leaving you with a giant bill in the end. I would NEVER recommend this school to anyone if you can go into a school and actually see & speak with people it’s surely a lot easier & less stressful. To them we are just a check I definitely am more than that so for anybody considering attending University of Phoenix I say RUN, don’t do it

Terrible please do not even waste your time. I am a student here and I had to go through hell and back to get into the school due to an unusual enrollment. I have done my fasfa and they still haven't cleared my funds for the second disbursement. I have been calling the financial aid office day in and day out with no response or no update. As a student this is very sad. Because if that is not clear I could be charged the amount for these classes from May to September. Just got off the phone with the finance department and was told that I am being very unprofessional!! I don't see how when I have been dealing with this for a month now. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR YOUR MONEY.

Jose Esqueda

Great school..

*** UPDATED*** It has been over a month and a half and I’m still waiting for my credits to be matriculated. I have been calling, leaving voicemails, and sending emails at least twice a week. Their usual response is they are behind. I understand that credits have to be reviewed but other universities do not take over a month and a half. Financial aid is waiting for my matriculation to process before I can get any financial help. As of Aug 2nd, 2018 my matriculation is still in process. I should have done my research about this university before applying. I have been patient but this is beginning to be unprofessional. Aug 8, 2018 update After emailing Ashely, Esmeralda and Jorge. My matriculation has finally been completed. It took 2 business days (not including the weekend) after posting the earlier review and it was amazingly completed. I would add additional stars to my review but I would not change my first impression. Just like the saying goes “you can only make a first impression once.” Hopefully this was just a rare oversight and no one else is having the same experience as me. Now let’s see how long the financial side of the house takes to give me my aid.

For starters I only considered this school because of the accessibility for online programs. I spoke to a counselor awhile ago while attending a different college and spoke to her about admission classes etc. After thinking everything was fine and going through the process of applying. I was then told my diploma wasnt acceptable and I would then need to take the GED. I was homeschooled by a accredited program in the state of california. I was told it was ILLEGAL in the state of california by the counselor! A simple google search can explain to you the legalities of schooling in each state. Mind you I've attended college previously. Never had any issues with any other accredited college. Also never had any issues financial aid wise either. The ignorance is just unreal to me. The fact I was told one thing by one person and something different by another. That more steps cant be taken in researching what's actually legal in my state as well or what can be accepted by accredited schools? Ridiculous.

I've gotten a lot more out of this school than expected. They provided me with far better resources than the previous college I attended, ITT Technical Institute. Everything has been going well. Until. I noticed a woman who had a history of misspellings, and incomprehensible sentence structure in class, was copying and pasting paragraphs. She was because they obviously weren't her own. She wasn't citing sources. She was schooled on several occasions on her answers by other students. But she just kept posting plagiarized content. I made a comment to her about it in class. She kept doing it. I complained to the staff, and to the professor. Nothing happened. I sent her a personal letter advising her that copying and pasting content was plagiarism. I was pissed because I put a lot of work into my responses. This woman was passing the class for copying someone else's work. They didn't assure me that the situation was being handled. So I handled it myself. They sent me a disciplinary letter because I sent a letter to her personal email, schooling her on plagiarism, and the qualifications of that course. They wouldn't discipline the woman themselves, and didn't like it for anyone else to either. This woman should never have been permitted to take this course. The authors that she copied should be notified, in my opinion. I've noticed in every class I've taken thus far, at least fifty percent of the class doesn't use proper sentence structure, grammar, or punctuation. But never had I seen anyone outright plagiarize another author's works. And they let her get away with it. This school has failed, and stupid has excelled.

Beware!! I took a college Algebra class at University of Phoenix with intent to attend the University of Arizona. When I could not get a college algebra class that worked with my school and work schedule, I inquired at the University of Phoenix which offered an online accelerated class that would allow me to finish around the same time as my other classes this keeping me on the correct schedule for graduation. It’s seemed like a great fit at the time and I and was assured my UofP College Algebra credits would transfer to the University of Arizona. Once I enroll at the UofA I am told that UofP online math doesn’t transfer!!! Yes, this means that thousands of dollars are totally wasted and I get to take College Algebra again at full price somewhere else. They intentionally misrepresented me and thousands of others for the sake of sales. That is “fraud” according to the Attorney General’s Office. My adviser Danielle has not returned my calls and I cannot believe they get away with this practice. Yes, I take responsibility and the fact that I should’ve called the University of Arizona to ensure those credits would have properly transferred however, I was dealing with an institution of higher learning and I know I cannot be the only person in this world that transferred math credits from the University of Phoenix to the University of Arizona. With that being said, I was certain what they represented to me was true and accurate since they do this on a daily basis. Unfortunately I fell victim to a corporation whose main interest is sales and not customer service or concern. What a scam! I have never felt more violated than by what I considered a reputable institution of higher learning.

HOME MAIDE

THIEVES. PERIOD. These are the most dishonest crooks in the business of higher education. 3 true stories. My sister earned 99% of the Masters of Education degree, including student teaching. U of P staff told him she wouldn't graduate because 100% of the students she student taught didn't like her methods/personality. She sued and won but it cost a lot of money and time and heart ache and lost wages. A friend of mine completed 99% of the Nursing degree, then was told he wouldn't be allowed to graduate because a few of his fingers didn't work due to an accident he'd been in a few years earlier. He sued them and won, then he turned over everything they did to the DOJ's Americans with Disabilities Enforcement Center. My brother in law was taking classes in the Accounting major in at U of P. They told him he'd have to wait 2 years - that's 24 months - to take the next class required. He transferred to Regis University and never looked back. DO NOT GIVE THEM EVEN ONE OF YOUR DOLLARS!

This was the worst experience of my life... not only did it tank my GPA when my last teacher graded with her * subjective * grading but any time I had a question.... it took days ( they have a 48 hour reply period) I was lucky if I got a reply in 4. My last professor was so horrible that I tried to drop the class and take it another time. I was told I couldn't do that. I was so stressed out when I took my classes and the lack of help... made it worse... on top of that with the acception of Bio101 I had no core classes even though I stressed to them I wanted it out of the way.. thankfully I got out before the end of my degree... 5000+ down the drain

I have obtain my BS in Business/ with concentration in Accounting, and currently am enrolled in there Master programs. I currently go to the Oregon Campus in Tigard to a ground campus. I have not enrolled in any online classes but that is just me because I like the feel of an ground campus where you get the involvement from everyone, instructor down to students. The Phoenix Resource Center there is great because you can have team meetings or get on a computer there and do peer-reviewed essay's in the library. Not that you cannot do this online because we all ave access to the library but if your having trouble with it seeming to be like a chatroom maybe you can go to the nearest ground campus.

Randy Brown

I love the University of Phoenix. I found it challenging and rewarding. I got my bachelor and master's degrees

It's nice to go to a University that understands that we are in the 21st century.

I'm enrolled in this school now and I'm very upset with the financial aid office I am really starting to see that this school is a scam and I'm looking for a attorney because I think they are trying to take my disbursement. I started school in September and everything seem ok by October 2017 I receive my 1st disbursement $6800 with no problems my next scheduled disbursement date was May 2, 2018 but on May 1st 2018 my disbursement date change to a new date and that was May 8th I call on May 2nd and the advisor told me it's was a new process and they just showing me my anticipated date so i was still confused about what was happening and i talk to another advisor she tells me oh you will she your disbursement in 1 week then May 8 comes and I call and they tell me oh it takes 1-2 week from the disbursement date ok here it is 1 week I call and they tell me oh we don't have a diploma on file for you so we need you to send that in and it will take about 2 weeks to you hear anything WOW!!!!!! So now I'm like forget this school they are a freaking joke!!! I think they done stole my financial aid and making excuses of why I haven't received it By the way I only have 2 more classes left until I graduate and they are telling me that they are just now seeing I don't have a diploma on file

Bryan Chung

The MBA degree I have achieved from UOP helped me in many ways. Of course the degree itself doesn't guarantee a good job, but it surely helps.

W M

I was here for a training for work. Wow! Nice building..new, clean. I met some of the staff there and was impressed.

Jennifer Jara

After you graduate and can't get a job in the field you went to school for. Then you find out your student loans work like this . The first two years you pay no money to your student loans you only pay interest the next two years after that you pay only $5 to your student loan and $310 to your interest.

Maari NChellee

Horrible finance team !! They call me every single month for a new document instead of having me issue them every piece of document in the beginning. They have muiltple people working on your account like it’s a call center or something it’s really bad and organized I would recommend this if you have a busy schedule and don’t have Time to deal with unorganized representatives. I have mad numerous of fixes on my financial account because of their representatives

GABRIEL FLORES

The University of Phoenix gave me an amazing education. I can honestly say I received an exemplary education and it was much better than any education at any not-for-profit state public universities I have attended. I learned amazing skills and consider myself a scholar who is published and notable in his field. The University of Phoenix’s curriculum was rigorous, meaningful, relevant, and immediately applicable.

Instructors and tech support are amazing people. If you are thinking of going here using your education benefits, don't. They didn't have what I wanted but something close to it so I chose that. I was told it was $3200 a month and there was a campus close to me. Signed on only to find out that the closest campus that I could attend was 2 hrs away and the rates dropped to $2200 a month. Since then it has been $1800 a month. Also, they close campuses, switch classes, and change things up so much it seems like no one has any idea what is actually happening. The programs they use (like McGraw hill) for classes are so bad the instructors will change homework assignments. They have problems with their website. One assignment was to upload a 3 minute video. Their website can't handle anything over 25mb, the 3 minute video being 129mb. I had to call tech support and they had me download a program to compress files. Despite so many other things I'll leave with saying that your first week of class you need to get the homework done before the first in class session. Despite the "starting date" posted on the home page you are actually expected to start the homework the week prior, IF the class page opens for you. Save the tech support number.

I am a little frustrated with the fact that l was learning about nutrition for a Bachelors in Science and Tech.We also learned about pregnancy and the health of a baby.Really?l have 2 teens, adult and a 9 yr old...l don’t think l need to learn about that because l am done having kids.My one kid was learning the same thing and she is in high school. The WileyPLUS was a complete nightmare on an iPad.The instructors are very cool so this is not to bash them.l want to learn about computers dang it!Not about pregnancy!I passed that class with flying colors though

Ken Gould

Online school is best for adult learners with good discipline and work ethic. It is a fast track program school, so they will get you to a degree fast, but it takes a lot of work. Tuition, scheduling, and course work were all fine. They will work with you too. Finishing my masters next week and it has been simple process. I dont understand most of the complaints about this school, it gives you back what you put in.

abby porter

If it should even get a star after reading reviews inseam tone having same issues as others that's frustrating. They did away with credit request form

Semaj' Stewart

This school is terrible! If you do not understand not only do you not get help, but they do not give you the chance to redo any assignments. They are money hungry, & I got tricked into taking out a loan. I want out I made the BIGGEST mistake in my life enrolling here, they only call you when they need information about financial aid, & you don't ever see it. & do no be fooled by the fake 5 star reviews they are putting those themselves. If there was an option to rate a 0 out of 5 I totally would.

Larry Banks

I tried to call here to get more information about the Associates Degree and Bachelors Degree in Business and I notice they switch me to different departments and when I talked to someone I spoken to Ms. Misty and everything was okay until I notice she seem like losing her patience with me and I notice my computer was going slow or having difficulties and she was losing her patience and refuse to tell me if you are having difficult you are welcome to try another computer and try another device where you can try to do your application for the school but she didn't tell me that it was the total opposite. I didn't get mad I told her "I don't think this school is for me but I thank you for your time. I accept and forgive what you and your school did to me and I will bless you in Jesus name!" I notice she felt bad and tried to make me stay on the phone but I told her to have a bless day and I hung up and I told her manager what happened and I will never contact this school ever again.

Eugene Rice

My time at the school was great my last class is coming up an I will have a Master's degree in Public Administration, I'm happy. I don't get the negative reviews.

dan fecioru

University of Phoenix hmmmmm got my master a few years ago and I was told is worthless. The Master program at this university is not accredited by the AACSB and will never be. Don’t waste your money on worthless paper. Huge mistake....

J S

Horrible experience with this school and especially the financial team. YOU CAN GOOGLE EVERY SINGLE ASSIGNMENT IN EVERY CLASS. You can literally find all of the answers to everything on google and professors don’t even attempt to stop people from submitting plagiarism for discussion posts, group assignments, anything. It is a joke. You might get a degree but not a reputable one unless you’re already in your industry and can dupe your way through it. Financial team is a joke and they sent me to collections as well for $200 that I didn’t even know I owed because they said they use the portal and student email to contact even after you’ve withdrawn (for MONTHS.) absolutely would not recommend them and hope to see them face the same fate as other degree mill schools.

Tori W

I had an old balance that I paid off, and they were supposed to send me a pay off letter but never did. I called and requested it, they sent it to the wrong email, I asked for a copy again and it has to go back through the process. No letter still!!! They also report to your credit that it is a private loan, not a school so it stops you from being able to even rent. UPDATE*** I finally got my pay off letter, but instead of marking it as "paid off" or even "settled as agreed" they changed it to "was derogatory" seriously??? UPDATE AGAIN 3 MONTHS LATER So here we are almost in January and everything was paid in October, they still have NOT corrected my report saying that the debt is paid off. It says charged off instead of settled and paid as agreed, or anything. 1 of my scores is 80 points lower then the others because this is still saying derogatory. UPDATE AGAIN in February, now they have decided to report again to another bureau and said it is derogatory when in fact it has been paid. They are also reporting it as new. I will be obtaining a lawyer as soon as I get moved into my place. They go out of their way to make things worse instead of trying to help or make things better, they are not returning phone calls or emails about my account either. I have never dealt with anyone like this, its a sad shame.

Piggy El Monte

NOT THE SCHOOL FOR YOU!!!! IF YOU WANT A REAL EDUCATION, GO ELSEWHERE!!!!! The experience that I have been through trying to get my financing when it was promised to me is a joke! Each and every time, over the past year and a half, my financing has been held up for one reason or another with no valid reasoning. Not to mention, the actual education is a joke. As nice as the professors/teachers/learning coordinators are, the education you receive is only what you put into it. Absolutely EVERY question to EVERY answer on the worksheets or quizs, can be googled, papers can be written with the help of the internet, ALL without even opening the e-books that they have provided. The e-books are written by the school, in fact all the "learning materials" are written and provided by the school, unless they are borrowing from an external web site. I have a feeling I would have been better off ordering a degree from a cracker jack box.

Louise Sullivan

my "friend" is very successful in the masters of counseling department clinical practice division in Tucson. she starts her job in the community soon.

britney graham

This is the worst school do not give them your money. I did my fafsa and they took so long (from October 2016-until September 28, 2017)making feel out form after form that they missed the deadline and I was not able to get my pell grant. They told me that I did not meet the requirements to get a pell grant for the 2017 year even though it all he same info. This school is horrible and I'm looking for a new one.

Tracy Anderson

This is the worse school ever. It was ok when they offered campus classes and you could actually see someone. I have had issues from academics to financial aide. I have heard everything from sorry they are out on vacation to your account is on review for a manager for the last 18 months. You don’t have an assigned finance counselor and the academic counselor does not call you to check in or anything. Teachers don’t even respond to questions in a timely manner in order for you to be able to complete an assignment appropriately. Just don’t waste your money or your time!!!

Blessed One

Scott T Milton

They write their own reviews, And they pay for some reviews also. Your PELL GRANT you will never see it, they take it and treat you like a child. If you apply for a loan, you don't get that money either, it goes straight to them. They lobbied for laws to change this way. Just to make sure you don't get the money and then don't give it to them and say screw the school... But it's your loans and your the one going to pay for them, so I just don't understand why it's like this. This place is nothing but Garbage. Their 5 star reviews are fake and self made because they are going out of business. By the end of 2016 they should be bankrupt. They just want your money, weather it's cash, loans, or grants. They just want to suck you dry for a useless garbage education or degree. Your local community college has the exact same thing for pennies on the dollar. Anyone that you talk to over the phone that works for this fake school, claims they got their degree from them too... But why would you get a degree and not use it to get a real job, and instead work as an over the phone sales person, they call themselves counsellors. All they do is answer the phone or call you to make sure you fill out every form in the application so they can get your loan and grant money, and after that they are ghost. It's not like a few years ago when you could sign up and get a grant and a loan and they will mail you or wire you the checks... Those days are over, now they have to send the money directly to these snakes and fake online schools.

Terry Beard

I am a UoP student and I graduate next year. Although the reason I gave five stars was because not of the behavior of faculty at the university, but because of the resources readily available to student s, so that we are eventually successful both at the University and in the real world. You are allowed to review any past classroom 4ever, and the platform in which the University embraces is beyond sufficient. There is a chance of getting an unethical professor, but could that happen at any school? In addition, the upper faculty could really do something about the finance department, very rude people.

sophia edwards

I am completing my first Bachelors and going to start on my Masters soon. Over all ive had a amazing experience with University Of Phoenix. Ive never had a issue with financial aid, always able to talk with my team of advisors. I do not understand why this school has recieved such bad reviews, its a amazing school.

eddy Tompkins

The University of Phoenix actually helps to educate those who otherwise would not have the advantage of a college education. They start at the beginning and provide the building blocks for the student to move from one class to the next as they acquire the necessary skills to develop critical thinking, writing, math, and specialty skills. Although many believe the school is 'fake', I can assure you that the materials are genuinely well-designed and thought-provoking. There are many different types of people who attend the University; however, there is no way the undeserving could continue to move through the process and eventually obtain a degree. The people who are not willing to work hard and devote at least 3-4 hours per day to their schoolwork are not going to continue to stay in class for long. Those who do persevere have worked very hard to go through the University process, usually while maintaining a full-time job and with families. They are to be commended for the tenacity and work ethic.

Erica Mims

University of Phoenix is one of the worst schools to attend. DO NOT GO HERE. They are for profit only and will leave you in debt with no degree!!! DO NOT GO HERE AVOID THEM WITH ALL COST. Go to colleges with high rating like 4.0 on reviews. Listen to those of us who have had a bad run in with this school. We are not lying!!!!

Jerry Hamelton

Charged for classes I never signed up for or attended. The people here all need to be in jail. This school is nothing but a criminal enterprise

Tricia Lara

I have become more and more disappointed with this school! going to school online is heavy and was sold on the "flexible schedules for working students"

Edith RayNisia

I finished school in 2011 still no job in my field after going to University of Phoenix & 60,000 in debt from something that not even benefiting me or pushing me forward in life. My bad prayer is for this school to shut down , they never cared about us as people just the money they were getting

Amanda D

Horrible school! The admissions department will lie to you to get you to enroll. Then if you withdraw you will be charged per credit. In this case I logged on twice and answered a question in the discussion, once I realized this wasnt what was advertised I withdrew they billed me for the class anyway. Do some research beforehand and make sure this is the school for you. They are a joke!

Lavelle Hamilton

I was told credits from UOP are transferrable. That is a huge lie. I applied at a reputable school after receiving my AA from Uop and they will not accept credits. My 3rd year into uop I get a message my loans are maxed and I needed 2000 to keep going. This school has bad business practices and misinforms people purposely for enrollment. This degree is a piece of paper I can't use. Stay away from this school.

Ernestine Joseph-Pauline

I finally finished with my Bachelor's but have not recieved my degree in the mail. It seems that if your last name is hyphenated their system can't handle it. It has been 4 months and no degree. I was told to do a paper one and that everything was fine. Still no degree. This has taken the happiest moment and turned it into a frustrating time. Even my counselor is acting as if she is either overloaded or just doesn't care. I pretty sure I'm not the only person in their school that has an hyphenated last name. Why is this a problem and why since it's not my fault my degree will still take 45 days. SN: my associates degree my name was different.

Do not believe a word the finance department tells you or the enrollment reps. They will do anything to get you signed up and tell you whatever you want to hear. I enjoy the class style but dealing with finance and enrollment services has been a nightmare

Tracy Lampart

I feel like I'm wasting my time here every time you turn around you have a different academic counselor, when you have an issue it's always a bunch of talk talk and never a solution to the problem. This new black board system is the worse. The facilitators don't really be online just write down questions for the students to answer. I'm sorry I chose this school.

Hector Hernandez

Just go to a community college and transfer to a state university its way cheaper and they have valid degrees. On the states of Texas, New York, Indiana and a few others, a Bachelors in Education from University of Phoniex is not valid to teach public schools.

John Esc

Not sure why not a single person from this university has reached out to me via email but will ring my phone of the hook all day.. email is my preference and it’s completely ridiculous that they don’t use this route of communication. Oh well, UoP is officially off my list of colleges to apply to.

Sarah Padron

I enrolled at this school a couple years ago. I was going to go to a local community college and had gotten accepted there with all the different processes completed. Well come to find out they didn’t have the class that I wanted to start of in so I decided I would go with the U of P. It took well over a month of them arguing saying that I didn’t have the right paperwork and I couldn’t start classes until I had them. Keep in mind those were the exact same papers that had gotten me into the other school. One day they say okay you start your classes in a couple weeks. I was confused because they had just finished telling me my financial process hadn’t gone through and I was about to go back to the other school. I figured well maybe they figured out that those were the papers I needed after all. I started class and a month goes by and I get a phone call from the financial advisor saying that I have to take a leave of absence since my paperwork was invalid. They stopped my classes and it then became hard to get into contact with my personal financial advisor for this school. After months of trying to get a hold of them and months of trying to find the correct paperwork I gave up. Nothing was said afterwards and I didn’t get any paperwork from them until around a year later saying that they had turned my file over to a collections agency because I didn’t pay what I owed. All the while I hadn’t heard from them and I couldn’t get a hold of the advisor that knew my file. Everyone else would “direct me to the right person” but I would be put on hold until my phone died. At that point I was pretty pissed off. Several months back I tried to get a loan for a house I’m remodeling and this came up as a private loan and the teller said that he wasn’t sure I would qualify for such loan because of this. Not only had it put a hold on me furthering my education but on the rest of my life too. I wasn’t given the opportunity to back out before the class started and they had me under the impression that everything was ready to go and the financial process had been taken care of. Guys I’m telling you. If school isn’t enough drama I’d say stay away from this system cause it will screw you over with a smile.

Dulce Hidalgo

Don't even think about coming to attend UoP unless you have the entire total amount due to pay upfront or have a well laid out financial aid plan set in stone and backed up by more concrete. I graduated with almost a 4.0 and I was late on one payment and was sent to collections. This school doesn't value anything but money.

Luckily, my academic and financial counselors were fully engaged from beg til end. When I first started my general study course, my instructor told me time management is the key to success as an online student. It worked! Also, the sources are accessible 24-hours. For instance, the university library, etc. As a result, I emerged as a better writer, student and personally evolved. Even though some teams and groups became very challenging, I remained on course to obtaining my goals. I understand that a portion of students do not share the same experience. On a few occassions, I wanted to give up, but I chose to hang in and graduate. I thought I would attend graduate school at Temple, Drexel or Wharton, but I chose to remain as a MBA student. Overall, I agree that it is important to be in a learning environment where you can grow, and build trustworthy relationships with classmates, faculty, and administration.

I earned my AA and my B.A.S in psychology online... The prices are high but I enjoyed my time there. I also went to my graduation and it was cool it was located in new Jersey because I live in NYC... Some of the teachers can be a.holes but all and all it was great.

University of Phoenix has made it possible for me to obtain a credited degree, raise three sons independently, and work full time. It is unfortunate that people with silver spoons in their mouths are clueless about balancing work, school, and family. If it were not for University of Phoenix, I would still be flipping burgers at a low wage paying service job. Do not listen to the misguided person who claimed that USC is a valuable institution. The work load at University of Phoenix is intense. It requires tremendous reading, and writing skills. The only complaint I have is the Team Forums, and lack of qualified participants in a classroom. The school cannot make you smart,or ambitious, you have to do some of that on your own. However, you have to want to do more with your life than sitting on a couch watching the television. Just saying! A college education is valued, regardless of what University you obtain it from.

Dematria Asbury

I am enrolled and I do not have anything bad to say. My academic counselor calls me every month just to see if I need anything. It's a little pricy but going to a brick and mortar is just not an option.

Robert Lopez

I am currently enrolled in this University and its by fare a really good school. Plus if anyone questions me on this post, "I did not get paid to do so". I am just throwing it out there. I graduated with my Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and I am currently enrolled in the Master's program with only three courses left. As a previous person commented in regards to the education that you actually learn more cause you are reading, researching and learning at your own pace instead of having an actually boring instructor in front of you. Most of the comments that I have read are probably from students that did not put in the effort, time or dedication to complete the work. Everything is given to you up front and before you sign things you have to take the time to really understand what you are getting into to and what the costs will really be through your term. Overall, I have learned a lot and understand that this is the future, instead of sitting in a traditional school learning absolutely nothing. I actually dedicated myself and sacrificed time to get this degree. As many have mentioned its a waste, but its a waste if you make it that way. So sad that their are many people who complain in life for their actions, but yet put the blame on others cause they cannot face the reality that they messed up. I recommend this college and all those who are looking to better themselves, just as I did.

Sammy Shammy

DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL OR ANY PROFIT SCHOOL ONLINE THEY ARE A SCAM, AND THIS ONE IS THE BIGGEST SCAM OUT THERE. ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS COLLECTING THE MONEY YOU GET FROM STUDENT LOANS AND LEAVING YOU WITH THE STUDENT LOAN DEBT AND SAYING GOOD LUCK PAYING IT. LASTLY YOU CAN GET A MUCH BETTER EDUCATION AT LESS THAN 10% THE COST AT YOUR LOCAL COMMUNITY COLLEGE. WHY PAY MORE AND GET LESS?

John Alvarez

"Alumnus Carlos Ramirez’s Story" – University of Phoenix Commercial shows how much this school hates law enforcement. Was is really necessary to portray two deputies looking that the two men with such disdain? You need to show this to all your current and potential students that have respect for law enforcement. After seeing your reviews on Google, I doubt this commercial will hurt your reputation. Keep up the bad work!

Fat Full & Unbotherd

0 STARS! FINANCIAL team horrible! They hold your funds and spend your money how they want. They convince you to sign up for loans in which you become in huge debt (if you don't pay attention) I went on a vacay leave and never returned. Work load was very extensive! Also the idea of having to work in groups suck. If someone slacks then you left to pick up others load not good! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME SIGNING UP YOU WILL REGRET IT. Don't mind commenting University of Phoenix the damage is already done!

It was been a LONG 3 1/2 almost 4 years at this zoo that is referred to as a University. First off, the academic and financial counselors are horrid. What's the point in having an assigned counselor when they barely pick up the phone or respond to emails, and you are re-directed to another counselor every time your appointed one doesn't answer?! Bogus. Secondly, the classes. I went to campus classes for 3 yrs. Honestly, I have learned pretty much of nothing throughout my time at UOP. The books/curriculum is shot. The only semi-good thing was that most of the teachers worked in my field of study and provided insight into what it would be like working in the profession I was aiming toward. In addition, half of the students could barely write a complete sentence, which made it hard for me to work with some people in learning teams. The online classes were pretty easy. Luckily I only had to work in a learning team for 1 class which made it a lot easier. But, in my LAST online class before I graduated, my teacher (ELISA DOEBLER-IRVINE --- RUN FAR AWAY FROM THIS CHICK) decided to report me for plagiarism. She clearly didn't know what the hell she was talking about because for one, she was a horrible teacher who barely even read student papers, let alone knew about the curriculum for that class. Two, her tone and demeanor toward me were very disrespectful throughout the 5 weeks we communicated online, which led me to believe she was just out to get me. With that being said, their grading system is FLAWED. This caused me to receive a written warning which I was pissed about, as I have never had an issue with a teacher throughout my academic journey. Lastly, the financial aid. This school is too damn expensive for my degree to be looked at as the equivalent of a degree from a fake-ass university. I'm neck deep in debt thanks to them and I have nothing to show for it but a degree that will barely get me into the graduate school of my choice. This school is all about money, not brightening the future of their students. If you are thinking about going to this school ... THINK AGAIN.

Timothy Cullen

This was a major waste of time and money. I was in a tech program and the online labs were always down or frozen. I basically had to call tech support to do homework. I am a busy guy I work long hours and have a family, this is why I chose UoP. I would adjust everything in my life to do a project and then was unable to do that project or assignment because of tech issues. Log out and log back in was about the extent of support I got. Furthermore the course material was dry and about as exciting as an army personnel training manual. I found I was learning more on my own with google than at school. To make matters worse I was given conflicting information after I withdrew and had to get my lawyer involved. No one seemed to have a direct answer about my account and every time I paid it, there was more that magically appeared. Apparently they keep "processing fees" until you owe more than you were originally told. They also spam the life out of you so you never know which correspondence is relevant to you. It was maddening. Save your time and money there are many other options online.

DO NOT ATTEND HERE. 0 STARS. This school is a money hungry waste of time. I’ve been a student since 2015, in a four year program, and I still haven’t graduated because the amount of times I was told everything was taken care of but a document was missing or a certain loan wasn’t accepted in time etc. Now I’m not set to graduate until the end of 2020 for the same reason. The financial department is all over the place. They have absolutely no idea what they’re doing and every single time you call in or email, you get a different answer. It’s disorganized, unhelpful, and straight up a waste of time. The turn over rate for their employees is disgustingly high so any time there’s an issue (trust me, you’ll have tons) you have explain a situation OVER AND OVER. Recently they started making me pay $200 a month just to CONTINUE classes for being underfunded. THEN I find out I am actually eligible for loans that never got applied to my courses. Where did that money go? God only knows. After fighting with them for OVER A MONTH they finally said they’re gonna send me a check for the amount to pay towards the loan. Here I am, two weeks later, still without said check. Then to top it off, I get a call 5 minutes before they close & when I return their call, no one picks up. Conveniently I get an email about taking ANOTHER LEAVE OF ABSENCE. I AM SICK AND TIRED of this school wasting my time and money. I should have never attended this place. BEWARE. YOU NEED TO RUN SO FAR IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION OF THIS SCHOOL YOU NEVER HEAR THE NAME OF IT AGAIN. Update: They just sent me an email that for the next academic year they can only award me with $1307.00 in loans. For an entire school year. My short fall is set to be $9600.00. They have absolutely NO IDEA what they’re doing.

Kevin Morris

Just graduated and this school is awful. Group assignments are a waste of life and rarely do all members participate. Website goes down all the time preventing you from turning in or working on said group assignments. No employers take your degree seriously. I feel sad for people that paid for their degree from this place I went on GI bill. I travel for work and they do not work with your schedule. Dont waste your time bit the bullet and go to a real school.

Ana Mendibles

UOP started up as a great school my second time around just like my first I attended, they seem like robots and they are all in it for money $$$...That's just so sad. They're will and able to get in, but when you begin to have problems in your classes, with instructors they do not help, and the financial aid advisors don't contact you or respond to your emails, your pretty much on your own. I much rather go a Catholic or back to a Christian University they really care about you and your future they really do they're very best to get you to your destination rather graduation.

Heather Airaudi

University of Phoenix is not that difficult of a school. As long as time is spent on the work and it is turned in at a decent time, there shouldn't be any issues. All they require, for online courses, is that you log in two times a week and make a post that counts as participation. As some of my fellow students have said, the group assignments are the worst and the most frustrating. I can't tell you how many times I've had to spend the entire night doing the portions of the assignment that another student was supposed to do. This current class I'm taking has no groups or group assignments and it's been my best class so far. This school is very expensive but considering how hard it is to get classes at a community college and the lack of time I have to go to a community college, University of Phoenix is worth it. I've never had an issue with my Admissions Advisor, Academic Advisor, or my Financial Advisor. All of them have been great, left me alone unless I had a question, and contacted me if something came up. The school does have surveys after every class to hopefully weed out the more rude and worthless teachers and advisors, which I'm hoping they do take to heart. If you're enrolled and miserable, at least take these surveys and be honest.

Good pace of work and quality price

This school was not what I thought college would be like. I wrote a paper and put the word Bone Thugs and Harmony 80 times in the essay. I got a wonderful grade. But when I researched the paper and cited references, but received a very low grade. Then the website to upload your video and presentation to was defective. I failed the class, at this time I was told that I would have to pay to take this class again. Now that I have terminated myself from the school. Now they want me to pay 1080.00 and I had a student loan. No I was not working while attending school so how do they expect me to a pay out of pocket to pay for another class or I could not continue my education until the class was paid for and now I have to pay 1080.00 when I had a student loan and pell grant.. Please go to a community college or university. Because they charge a lot more than a school in your town or anywhere.

Rachel Rita

Very expensive $1900 every 5 weeks for online. But wonderful staff. They endure a lot from apollo group.

WAITING 4 HIM

Going to give 1 stars for now just because of reviews , my husband is supposed to receive excess funds by the 28th of this month , if he don't receive it soon like the reviews are saying He will drop and I will report school to every upper authority possible, and get a lawyer . I'll update to 5 stars n edit my review IF he gets his money like they say by the 28th. So far it is a great school and they check in with him weekly so for now he loves it , just worried about all the bad reviews

Steven Smith

Terrible school and a useless degree employers will just laugh at. To rub salt into the wound, it is more expensive than a lot of colleges. Do not waste your time and money coming here.

Nick Klimiuk

I have direct billing through my work and i also applied for student loans to pay whatever my company did not cover. UOP decided to take first funds from my student loans instead of taking payments from my work. This was a mistake on their part which resulted in me having to pay $700 in interest from unsubsidized loans. They refused to correct their error and i was forced to pay the interest. Under no circumstances will i ever attend this school again.

Jeff Pollick

I attended UOP for 8 days and had to drop out because of a physical injury. They want to charge me for 2 weeks and fees of over $600.00. Threatened to turn me into collection if I don't pay the balance within 5 months time. Now after reading all the negative reviews on UOP. It was a good decision to stop going there. Sounds like it's a waste of money and time. But I'll pay it. In my time frame. If they turn me into collections. I'll dispute it with the credit agencies. If your paying. They legally can't do damage to your credit or possibly can't do anything. But my advise is go elsewhere or go to community college.

Christopher Hendricks

Do you like wasting your hard earned money? Do you enjoy substandard education? Do you want to go to a school where your credits will be useless at other schools? If you said yes than University of Phoenix is a great choice. If not stay far far away. Go to a state school or community college. You will at least get better education.

Karlisha Price

School is horrible when you stop going because the classes where subjects you can teach yourself they try to charge you for classes that where dropped. If I where anyone I would go to community college they are better at teaching and, much cheaper. This is a for profit college they have been sued and changed owners several times. Im attending a community college and it's the best thing I could have done less money without gimmicks.

Alex Pruneda

This is the worst university, when considering your personal financial needs. They cut corners, delay paperwork, hide the true numbers and worst of all they don't apply you for the federal aid in which you qualify for. Never ever turn to their financial department unless your life depends on it. Call FAFSA and try to handle as much of your financial needs on your on your own, they will not help, they will not look out for you, they will only hurt your chances of receiving the aid you are entitled too. I am truly disappointed in this university, better yet, lack of a university.

john collett

I didnt attended here so make note i am reviewing any of the professors or classes or anything. My wife and I both tried applying to this schools online courses. We have been high-school sweet hearts and have to past colleges together. We have never experienced a more trouble place to even try and apply to!!! We applied and our adviser told us to email all our transcripts. We did this and about a few days went by. our adviser stated that what she got was blanks. this isnt possible because we have to contact the other schools and get the transcripts sent over (which also costed money). she finally found them and sent them to the right department. eventually we were told that my wife transcript were good to go but mine had a problem. Pheonix was telling me that I hadnt completely an existing review for my pell grant from the very first college i went to. this in itself doesnt make any sense when i have gone to 2 colleges after leaving that one and get pell grants at those colleges as well. so i try to get this resolved and they then tell me that their systems are upgrading and they dont have access for a whole WEEK!!! very fishy and very frustrating! I finally get this done and submitted. then they go on to tell me that the transcript for my first college is incomplete. AGAIN wrong when i have gone to 2 other colleges since then and before Pheonix. they states that i didn't get credits during 1 semester that i attended. they wanted me to explain why. i told them that the college i went to was in Minnesota. my wife and I then found we were pregnant and wanted to move back home to be close to family. so during one semester we dropped out. we did everything we needed to do and paid all outstanding balances or returned all aid that we received as credit. Pheonix then had the nerve to ask for proof of birth and us moving. I shouldnt have to prove to any schools that my wife had a baby several years ago!! I shouldnt also have to prove that I moved home. these are all personal thing that have nothing to do with me attending a college. Im sorry but if its going to be this hard to even get into a school i dont want to be any part of attending it!!

Adrien Sanchious

Ive waited almost 2 months to recieve my financial aid . its alot of sneaky business with these people. This school is unorganized and definitely trying to take your money and or make a bunch of money off of you. I will be leaving this school.

Matthew McClammey

The Education And Professionalism Of The Staff Are Great Along With The Resources That Students Are Provided. The Financial Aid Department Are Prompt And Detailed My Financial Advisor Ms. Heselius Is Awesome. However The Downside To The School Is That As A Current Student, Management Needs To Gain Structure To The Veterans Affairs Department Or Hire More Staff or Revamp The SOP With Processing Information To The VA. Not Sure Exactly What Happened In The Last 6 Months But It Has Become Snail Pace. If This Process Improved I'd Be Happy To Share Information About The Institution With Fellow Veterans. But What Is Important To Us Is The Processing Of Information. Not Particularly Sure What The Process Entails But The Outside Looking In, It Is Frustrating Wondering Why Information Is Back Dated And Getting Sent Late. A Year Ago After Attending My 3rd Class If The Course The Certification was Automatic. Now After The Class Is Complete Right Before Starting The Next Course I Receive A Certification Of Enrollment. Fellow Veteran Classmates Have The Same Frustration. Great Academic Environment Overall.

Jamie Abel

The military division at UOP is one of the best by far. They are very helpful and flexible for wherever you are in the world. I am considering getting another masters degree from them because I am able to focus on school at my pace and still keep up with active Army life.

Jeremy Bishop

Pathetic school, don’t waste your money here. I have unfortunately taken some of their classes and they are a joke, just like their degrees. My wife is in class here and even with my military discount and full GI bill that I transferred over to her, they still find a way to charge us. Complete crooks but I should have expected it. Make no mistake, they are solely in it to take your money. Go anywhere else other than this fly by night “University”.

Tammy Gharabagi

MILITARY STAY AWAY!!! I've given them the benefit of the doubt for two years & Veterans are taken advantage of here. It's all about their numbers here. DO NOT bring your GI Bill here for two reasons; they will abuse your funds AND they don't know how to process the paperwork. Not only does it take months to receive your education benefits but their excuse is always, "The VA always takes this long, it's not us." Really? I never had this delay with my other two universities since the start of the Post 9/11 back in 2010. They don't submit your certification, if they remember, until the third week of attendance to ensure you don't drop the course. Classes start at over $1300 and they only offer 5 week classes. All books are electronic so you pay for something you no longer have access to after your 5-week class. Then if you get on their bad side they will, out of nowhere, come up with this excuse that there are no more "on campus" courses available so you're required to take online only courses which cuts your BAH in half and then again, they forget to update the VA so you're stuck with possible back pay or no pay the next class. Don't EVER take a break from classes, even if the class you want to take is not available at that time, because after a 14-day window you must submit an "Appeal for Re-entry" to get approved from the advisors where it took them SIX MONTHS (Jan 2017-June 2017) to get me in classes again. Oh yeah, and coincidentally they have a 6-month penalty where you cannot get back into classes after any gaps in your schedule without this appeal. I've had my academic advisor sign me up for the wrong class retaking a class so I paid out of pocket while my financial advisors (yes, plural, there's been at least three) withheld my Financial Aid from the academic year prior making every excuse in the book so that I had to begin email communication to track their excuses and escalate it to supervisors. First, they claimed it was lost, then they said it was a glitch in the system, NOW they claim, after I had to fill out a Credit Balance Request to have my Pell Grant disbursed to me, that every time the deposit gets closer there's another excuse for delay in payment. Funny that each time monies are to be distributed to me it's not until my class is complete so that I have to sign up for another class with them to continue the processing of my delayed funds. Kind of like that Statefarm commercial with the old man fishing the dollar in front of your face. Keep in mind that I screen shot my student portal where it states that I elected NOT to have funds withheld from me due to the VA benefits being a 100% guaranteed tuition payment. It's nice that they gave me the option, but this doesn't stop them from withholding my Pell Grant with no reasoning for it other than they can. I've been completely taken by their disregard for my education and the handling of my VA benefits. Instead of being encouraged to further my education as a single parent, I seem to have been taken advantage of and disrespected. As long as this is posted for all students, not just Veterans, I hope you heed warning. God Bless.

Lindsey Powell

This is the worst school to attend. I mean classes are great and easy, but they lie to you from when they “help” you with financial aid to giving you a first notice that is also a last notice that you have one day to make a 2000 dollar payment. then it’s gets sent to a collection agency. In the end, i lost all financial aid and they destroyed my credit. so no more college because i can’t afford it without financial aid and can’t buy a house or car with bad credit. thank you university of phoenix. this was my first time trying out college and because of all this mess y’all have created for me, i am unable to start my college career for a long time.

Cassie Carbajal

This school is a regionally accredited college, which means they uphold the same standards as all accredited universities! It is not a diploma mill as those colleges are not accredited. I am just finishing my Bachelors of Accounting degree and besides the teamwork aspect I have no complaints! You pay more because you are paying for the convenience of attending online at a full time pace while maintaining the rest of your life. You get what you put in people!!

Matt Graybeal

Not sure how I was billed for ANYTHING while covered under GI Bill, FAFSA and loans. Now on my credit report. SHADY COMPANY

Shawonna Garrett

I wish I had read the reviews before attending.... One star is too much!! Financial aid is horrible!! They call me 50 times a day!! I have a full time job people!! Geeesh get a life!! UOP is too expensive!! I thought they would help me further my career but they are putting me more in debt!! Please please read the reviews before attending!! Financial aid suck!!

Scott Elliott

The online program is wonderful. If you are a working parent like myself, UoP is perfect. It is challenging and provides me a way to advance my education. MBA, 3/2017, here I come.

Tamia Odimegwu

Currently in the process of withdrawing! Don’t go to this school absolutely terrible the financial advisors are racist and aren’t willing to help or call you back terrible don’t waste time or money

Brandi Royal

I will be graduating in September with my Bachelors and have also gotten my Associates through University of Phoenix. I have no complaints. Have I had some hiccups...yes, but I’ve also gone to a traditional University and had the same. I knew what I wanted before coming in and I went after it full force letting nothing and no one stop me. I have no complaints and am also considering them for my Masters!!

verneece 3

I have been to university for almost 3 years now and i have to be fighting for my rights and grades . In the beginning its all great until you are near completion, then you get some inhumane professor that don't care if you pass or not. Then these professor give you the dumbest reason why you didn't get graded. This is the second time a professor fail me simply Because they are cold and a riping off money for the university. Am tired of fight for my grades so am just going to quit and try to get student loan forgiveness. If you try to stand up to these people they make it hard for you move forward.

randi moreno

Aside from minor nuances, I do have to rank this university pretty high. I wish they offered the books in print and online, however, its solely online. All the constant hype about citing sources annoys me, as does the repetition with what is being taught, however, the admissions process was smooth, navigation pretty simple and some of the work can be challenging, such as the assignments. Their is collaboration with other students so it feels like a chatroom. This university goes along way to keep their students happy, and I receive a call every month from my advisor, just looking to talk and say hi. It's engaging and exciting.

Christina Hoisington

Their Financial aid is a joke. They expect you to attend classes with no award letter! No thank you, I don't feel like accumulated a large amount of debt just to be told something has gone wrong with my FASFA. Then when you tell them you would like to drop the class they charge you! It is a SCAM 100%. True a well thought out scam, but at the end of the day still a SCAM! Do not waste you energy.

Jazz Wright

My experience was very expensive, however, I loved the program, very educational, lots of great material. The classes build on from one another and the content is easily applied to real life situations. My only regret, wish would have enrolled much earlier! I am a PHOENIX, and earned a bachelor in business with a concentration in marketing. I suppose it does not matter much where one goes to school, as long as the hunger for learning is present, success should follow! :)

Kadeidre Harris

If you are looking for a school to waste your hard earned money at ...then Phoenix University is for you. This school give many students the impression that they are there to help you, when they really are not. This school is ONLY about the money and that is it. I paid $900 for a class that I wanted to transfer and I couldn’t, because the teacher failed me. My son was hospitalized for three days and I missed just one assignment and my Spanish teacher would not allow me to make up the work because it was a ‘personal issue’. Just me out of the kindness of my heart just wanted to WARN you about this school and allow you to reconsider coming here. Thank me later.

mike ettellam

Will withhold excess funding if they feel you are going to leave. By law only allowed to hold excess funding for 14 days but will have an excuse. Have to report to Dept of Ed just to get it released. Also only report partial attendance to VA if in 5 week program they only report 4 so you lose a week of bah and they gain more time to lengthen the classes. DO NOT ENROLL RIP OFF FRAUDULENT ACTIVITY!!! I am stuck here untill my last 4 classes are over. It was 2 they added 2 more and took my overpayment refusing to refund.

Corey Morehouse

I'm enrolled in this school. This is my 3rd time being with them and this time they don't seem to care about anything at all. They lie to you, hold your funds until they feel it's convenient for them. I manage my own funds and they still haven't sent me anything. As far as a finance advisor she nor her manager are NEVER available. I very disappointed in myself for even thinking about coming back here.

Matthew Jimenez

Whatever you do, do not waste your money at this joke of a university. Especially if you are vet! I’m not going to say to much because I am in the works with 3 on your side to expose these criminals!

Juan Israel

A highly unaccredited, low ranking, for profit school that is more concerned with increasing their profits than properly educating students. If you want a good career do yourselves a favor, study hard and go to a real public university or a respectable private institution like USC. An education at the University of Phoenix is seen as a complete joke in academia.

James Gregory

They stole our kids tax money. Shame on this school

Samaru Lio

This school can do a professional/business person more harm than good. Their admissions process is sub-standard. It seems they accept anyone who is able to pay the tuition rather than focusing on their academic abilities, accomplishments and potential contributions to the classroom discussions and team assignments. I found that their were the "workers" and the more serious student who would pick up the slack for the inept, lazy or those that are just getting by. I took one course and during the first week a student approached me asking for a copy of my paper to see how it was formatted. He also asked for my assistance to review his paper due to his limited English. I shared the incident with the instructor who requested I ignore the person. Subsequently, I finished the course but dropped out of the program. A school that turns the other cheek to cheating, plagiarism or inappropriate behavior is not one that is not focused on their student's success in the business world and it is only interested in their profits. Your MBA is only as good as the school you earned it from....plus your GPA. There are other schools out there with reasonable tuition, good reputation and integrity.

Stay away from this university your degree is worth nothing to jobs or your future career. They will also withhold money that is in titled to you until you sign up for more programs. They also are not afraid to kick you out of the class even after you've been through a natural disaster. My word of a vice is to stay away from this place and find somewhere more reputable and University that will help you obtain a good degree.

Levi Thompson

I have had zero problems with admissions or finance and I just completed 30 credit hours! UoP started online classes. Their online portal is better than any other school I've ever seen (I attended 3 other schools before UoP). If you are upset because you made a mistake in your paper work, or failed to secure your own finances, or maybe you didn't understand that after starting a class you can't just change your mind (and not have to pay)...maybe you are not ready for college! College is for adults who want to learn. I learned useful information in EVERY class. Before considering another school, check the accreditation! UoP is regionally accredited. That is the same as all major universities that I would ever consider going to. Do your own research don't just listen to somebody else.

Liz Arm

Horrible University. Professors will not respond to your messages . The excuse I got from the counselors that Blackboard is a new program and maybe that's the reason why there's a delay in responding to messages . Mean while students are failing classes. Also just like other previous reviews posted they are horrible in the financial aid department . They just want your money.

Travis Williams

Not worth of the insane amount of money they charge

Ryleigh Wood

This is my personal experience. Now this school is a FOR PROFIT school. Just know that, I took the first class and did the 3 week free trial and then here is where we ran into an issue. I got selected for verification for a mis click on my FAFSA. I asked if i could just change it and my Financial Aid advisor Chad Miller said no. They even asked for info that is illegal to obtain from my state, so i submitted what i could. I then called the dept. of education who told me i was cleared from my verification and the funds would go to uop. The school then still claimed i was still in verification. They even took the funds they sent. They eventally sent the funds back, but then tried to get me to pay for the class even though they encouraged me to finish it! Needless to say avoid this school. I transferred to SNHU and i am happier there. and SNHU is cheaper

The Masters of Business Administration program offered a well-rounded experience.

A M

I am currently enrolled in the Masters of Education Supervision and Administration Program and I must say this program was not created for the working class. UOPX advertises itself as a school for working adults, however, you have a class workload with 2 or more individual assignments a week, as well as, having to log-in and post 8 substantive discussions over a 3 day period in order to receive attendance and participation credit. All of the assignments are essays.....boring! They also make you do team assignments. I would not recommend this program to anyone.

Maxx Payne

Took online classes and achieved a certification in HR management. Was told the classes were for 3rd and 4th year college students. I hadn't been to school in almost 20 years. I passed with a 4.0 but a little concerned how easy it was considering my lack of experience. Seeing the lack of substance in other students posts and contributions made me wonder if they are really preparing them (or myself) for the real world. I did enjoy my learning experience but have yet to put into practice. I give 4 stars so far but may update later.

Annette Huger

Rigorous course load for the degree I obtained. UoP degree was accepted in my home state and I am utilizing my teaching degree.

Beth Howard

UOP has opened many doors for me. I have an amazing experience with the college over the last 4 years and would recommend them to everyone I know that was serious about earning a college degree, including my own children.

Dr. Shery

Most beautiful and stunning campuses ever. I am all satisfied with the best educational institute ever.

Brittany Nichols

The environment is not friendly to students that aren't former military, In addition some of the guidelines are ridiculously strict. For example, students are expected to do over 5 hours of coursework a week and work and maintain a family. AS well i do not like the fact that they sell you on being a school that works around your busy schedule, yet deduct points for being late to class as if people cant work over time or do not get off work at different times or have to travel far to campus and sit in traffic for two hours just to get there by 6pm which is rush hour. I half of the time do not make it to class until after 7:30pm and i explain this to every professor yet they still deduct points. Which has impacted my GPA significantly. I complete ALL of my assignments, but attendance weighs 20 points of your 100. if you miss 2 points (2 hours) a week that automatically brings your highest possible grade down to a 80. Then you factor in the points that may be deducted based on the professors preference on how they "feel" your assignment should have been completed and composed. Additionally, if your assignment is 1 day OR 1 hour late, expect a 10% late penalty deducted from your grade. The system is set up for students to fail, especially those of us who have other things going on in life. And it seems as though we have academic advisors for no apparent reason whereas you complain about a professor or an unfair practice and nothing is done about it at all. they just say oh, well do you think it will be better for next class??? what??????

Pete Ochoa

I am three credits away from my Bachelor's degree. It has been a long hard, and I almost gave in a few times, but thanks to my family support I am almost complete. I am strongly considering going for my Master's. I looked on this site and saw only 2.8 stars, so I wanted to see why. As with anything, you get what you put in, be honest with yourself. When I worked too much my grades suffered, I could tell. When I devoted time to studies and worked hard my grades went up. I have had many study teams, some were outstanding and others were lazy, dishonest, and had no passion. In other words blame yourself for your poor experience. The tools are there for success, but you have to want it.

Jennifer Wilkins

I’ve been disputing with them for 11 years. I took their Psychology program in 2008 and it was a mess! To top it off, they would not work with me and would not let me continue classes when they knew it was their fault. So I withdrew! Years later I’m still paying off the student loan. It’s all about money with these cons and not about the student! Biggest lesson learned. There are so many other wonderful online programs out there with professors and staff who care. I would run as far as you can from UOP!

monie

Please...I beg you NOT to attend this school..this finance advisor are slackers no one will advise you when it's time to reapply for financial aid...no one really cares about helping you and often they are rude when you call... I had to call several times about my financial aid and courses.I BEG ANYONE NOT TO ATTEND THIS SCHOOL...THEY ARE A BIG JOKE IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE IN DEBIT FOR EDUCATION MAKE SURE ITS WORTH IT....PLEASE LISTEN TO ME SO YOU ARE NOT IN A BAD SITUATION LATER!

Kyle Kelsey

This school is nothing but a gigantic joke. I have been enrolled for about 4 months. Their are a few good people in the academic services office but other than than that, nobody gives a damn about your success there. They just want your money. They screwed me over and dropped me from a class for false reasons and now they want me to retake the course and pay for it. I am absolutely disgusted with the institution and am regretting even enrolling. I would never recommend that anybody should seek their online education through The University of Phoenix.

Rebecca Miles

This school is trash. I did 2 years of online classes supposedly to finish my bachelor's. When I was tired of the over expensive program that had ton of technical issues I dropped. Supposedly 5 classes from a bachelor degree. Tried to transfer to a real University near me and found out every class they put me was an elective and no core classes. That's 2 years and over 30 thousand I have to pay back that qualify for nothing. I have to start over completely if I want a degree. On top of that they are not recognized by the businesses as a valid college. You can't get a job with them on your resume unless you want to scrub floors.

mik

The credits from the university are absolute trash. You will not be able to transfer 40 - 100% of your credits to other universities because other colleges think this university is illegitimate. All this university is good for is collecting money. During my second class my instructor showed up drunk. Management is non existent and the instructors do not care about what your facing in your personal life.

Scarlett Viers

I am going here right now everything is going great for me and no I am not a robot and not getting paid or whatever some of these reviews are saying all the teachers that I have had have helped me through my classes and taught me well I love it.

Mesha Howard

I was going to put a bad review about this school but seems like I should've read the other horrible reviews before I even enrolled at this school. They are pathetic. So now that they aren't getting my money I can get in contact and their communication is horrible. I'll never go back. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCHOOL!!!!!! No stars....

Jared Davis

I am currently enrolled in Phoenix and may end up dropping it altogether. I would like to clarify at the beginning of this post that I am a diligent, hard-working student but my lifestyle is also busy with religion and work. I currently hold a GPA of 3.84 and I have about 10 classes left to finish my schooling. I am a working adult. However, because of my major apparently I am REQUIRED to take certain online courses, which are more expensive and MUST be taken online due to not having them at any campuses near where I live or even remotely close. Phoenix is not only expensive for the convenience of the schedule on-campus, but their online courses completely contradict everything about being convenient for the working-class individual. It is impossible for me to comment every day or every couple days online about a topic and elaborate on it and possibly not even get the substantial comment to count towards my participation! I requested the class I am in now to be on-campus instead of online and they said it was not available. This was never made clear to me when I first signed on with UoP that there could be online classes filling in for the on-campus classes which are not available. I was under the impression from the enrollment counselor that if I wanted on-campus classes then that is what I will get 100%, since online classes are about 500$-700$ more per class. On top of all of this my major will be incomplete in a sense when I finish because they are not providing me with everything that I need to work in this field. I will need to take supplemental classes to get by afterwards to make up for these massive gaps of training. These lacks of classes being provided to me were not clear until I knew more about my major from taking the classes. After I knew a little more about my major I started asking questions like "will this be provided to me in a class?" And they kept saying "no". What a joke. Would I recommend University of Phoenix? No. My thought is that they need to 1. Change their curriculum to a real-world setup with new information and 2. Actually cater to individuals who want campus classes and those who don't reasonably. Or at least make them aware that online classes may happen and that they cost much more than a regular class on-campus. Jared Davis

Gerrit Gribble

Very little help with answering questions in the financial office. Classes had useless material and pointless assignments.

kristy Murray

These people are crazy. I was just simply looking into college and had decided it was not the right fit for me so when a recruiter called i explained to her i was not interested. For some reason she saw this as an invitation to try and change my mind. I continued to tell her no until i simply hung up. This was a week and a half ago and she calls me 4 times a day.

Shane Culver

Best school ever. Ever since I was a little boy I have told my parents I wanted to go to Phoenix. I had also wanted to be in the commercials. But, when my parents said no I was heartbroken and I thought my life was over. Until the day I applied without my parents permission. I got in and now I live in my parents basement. And now I'm hoping to live their for the rest of my life. Best decision ever.

Gene Wu

Amazing people still enroll in this sham of a "school". The degree, if you actually get one after drowning in debt, is completely worthless. Now they're targeting veterans which is simply unacceptable. This place needs to be put out of business for good.

Owen

You get what you put in. Make sure you pick the minds of the faculty. These are industry professionals with advanced degrees. They know how networking works, and can help you on a path to success. I've been fielding job offers, and I still have 6 classes to go until completion. Just remember, the degree will get you in the door for your interview, it's up to you to seal the deal from there. UPDATE: Accepted job offer in management for a Fortune 500 company.

Alex Bailes

I believe in garbage in garbage out. You get what you put into something. I am one clin Business from obtaining my undergrad in Business Administration. Iams Mini have had a long road I did two years online with the University of Phoenix in the last two years at a brick-and-mortar site. The professor we're mostly outstanding but there is always one or two that you may not agree with. I would recommend this University to anyone but you have to put in the hard work I do agree it is a little pricey but this was very good University that work with me having a full-time job.

Ben Collins

I have never seen such a poorly run university in my lifetime. Financial Aid took months to process, my financial aid advisor changed four times in one year, and it can take them over a week for someone from Phoenix to return your phone call or e-mail. I have greatly enjoyed online learning in the past, but I feel that Phoenix is not being upfront or honest with its student.

Adam Smith

Rather than rant about my experience, I am going to post the concern of a current student. It should sum up the value of their degree programs. "During this week's discussions, I have noticed that two of my classmates have copied and pasted their responses directly from the textbook." "both of the posts in question have been commented on by the instructor with comments such as "Great job on your response etc etc. It is not that the students have put quotes around entire paragraphs...there are no quotes, they have merely copied and pasted entire sections out of the textbook."

Andria Franklin

i got my undergraduate and now working on my Masters at U of P. Nothing was ever hidden. You have to do your homework and know what the heck you are doing and keep yourself informed and ask the right questions. You cannot expect people to do your work for you. The tuition and costs are laid out on their website plain as day. I did a ton of research on the degree I am working towards, the costs and responsible borrowing. I made sure I knew what the accreditation's were and that I can be licensed in my state. Its work but my responsibility to know what I am signing up for. I loved the enrollment counselors, and can ACTUALLY get through to them and get personal responses same day most of the time unlike the bigger schools where you are lost in the crowd. I love this school and how its geared toward adults.

Austin Drelich

If I could rate 0 stars I would. Great idea, horrible programming. Please update your systems so your students are not failing for no reason...

Jesse Diepeveen

DO NOT USE UNIVERSITY OF PHOENIX!!! Graduated with my CJS degree with promises of jobs galore. Between getting hurt, not being able to work as an officer and being laughed out of interviews when school was mentioned for qualifications it's not worth your time. Goto a vocational or tech school and get real skills instead of a piece of paper not worth the ink to print it.

Reeta Hayes

I read many reviews it seems everyone that has complaints. Is moreso concerned with money/disbursments/the fiancial aspect instead of the educational aspect. Depending on the program you decide what challenges/stimulates you. If you are going to school for money you are going for all the wrong reason(s). I dont think people critically think about the degree they want to pursue. Of coarse, the degree is just a piece of paper if you didnt have a well thought out process before, OBTAINING THE DEGREE. 98% of you are complaining about money. You had the wrong intentions. I already knew what I career line I wanted to be in and what I wanted to do well before, I obtained my Masters from Phoenix. I had a well thought out plan I did not go for money!

Alyssa Sanchez

I have had a great experience with UOP. From the beginning they were very helpful and made sure I had all the information I needed to get started and had help every step. Every question I had was answered within a couple hours if not minutes and tuition was very easy to cover with their help and they also made this very easy. There was a lot of reviews about issues with payments but that is not something I ever had a issue with. I would high recommend UOP if you are considering online school.

J Frenchtx

They have been great to deal with. More than helpful, I have no reservations giving them 5 stars. Everyone has gone out of their way to help me on every aspect from enrollment, classes, etc.

TM Wolf

Massive waste of money and time!! No support, they do it all for the money! You will never get hired via there useless classes

Ruth Goff

I was working toward my doctorate in Educational Leadership with the desire to teach teachers at the university level. After having served as a supervisor of student teachers in the Little Rock, AR school district, I felt I must do something to try to help. After much reflection and research, I chose UoP. My classes were wonderful. The instructors were very well qualified. It was when I began my dissertation that I began feeling totally lost, unsupported and frantic! My first dissertation chair was basically not present. The second was just a cheerleader telling me things to encourage me, but not giving me much direction. There was another one who was helpful enough that she advised me to take some time off because she could see I was badly burned out. My last one was fabulous, but UOP changed my degree track! Given mu age and the amount of money I already owed, I decided to withdraw. That is still an ache in my heart. I'm not a quitter and I didn't get to help anybody!

Amber Letreece

Horrible, i have yet to receive payment from my VA benefits because the school failed to send up my certification correctly. They sent it up the first time and then a school official sent up a termination saying i withdrew from the class which i never did i finished the class and passed with an A-. I called several times to get it corrected and everyone acted clueless as if they didn’t know what i was talking about. How do y’all expect people to pay their bills and keep a roof over their head when things like this happen the class started in February and ended in March. MAY starts next week and i still haven’t gotten paid!!!! HOPEFULLY we finally got it corrected and i can get paid smh!!! I wouldn’t recommend this school to ANY veteran! If i could give NO STARS i would!

Justin Stickney

My veteran brothers and sisters, stay away from this place. Extremely unprofessional, disorganized and an extreme lack of integrity. Watch your paperwork after you drop they tried getting me into debt with the VA. Seriously people this college is just a scam, go to a place that employs a professional staff.

Renee Robinson

My experience with UOP has been Great so far I just started my classes on (10/24) Tuition cost is good and New Classes start every 5 weeks.

Hannah Atkins

It only took me a week being enrolled in one of their courses to realize that University of Phoenix literally accepts anyone. I was in a graduate course and my classmates' writing capabilities were on the level of 5th graders. Thank you, UoP, for showing me that I should never get a degree from a for-profit school. This school is the definition of a degree mill.

Kjuana De Jesus

This school fills the degree program with useless and unnecessary classes. There aren’t enough options available for online learners as far as materials and working at your own pace. Every class I have taken so far has been a waste of my money. I’m about to finish a class and after that. Am going to be looking for a new school.

Melissa Bennett

Worst school! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! Financial Aid office is very unproffessional and unorganized. The school makes you take courses in the beginning that are nothing but a way for them to get more money and would never transfer to another college. They are a scam! They lowered tuition rates but made sure to add these ridiculous classes to make up for it. They put you in the college classes before financial aid is complete and then will send you to a collection agency within a month should financial aid not work out. By the way, the finance department is the worst department in the whole college! The enrollment advisors are super nice but that is thier job so they can get you trapped in this fraudulent school. I started back at Southern New Hampshire University, which unlike this pathetic place is nonprofit. I am super happy with that school and there proffessionalism. COMMUNITY MANAGER, DO NOT EVEN WASTE MY OR YOUR TIME WITH YOUR REPLY ABOUT EMAILING WHO EVER, I HAVE BEEN EMAILING THIS SCHOOL FOR MONTHS AND LIKE ANOTHER REVIEWER SAID ITS A CALL CENTER AND NO ONE ACTUALLY KNOWS ANYTHING AND ALL YOU GET IS COMPUTERIZED RESPONSES! For anyone looking into this school, please just do not! I have proof of all the information in this, with screen shots and letters and I have no problem showing you if it will save someone else from making this same mistake! If you don't want to take my word for it, look on Google at all the rating websites and review websites. They have more bad reviews than good. I did not make it this far but I hear if you graduate from here, your degree is looked at as a joke and no one will hire you! So, with all the information I hope you make a better decision than I did. I looked at all the bad reviews and just shrugged it off hoping it would be different for me and it wasn't! I hope this school gets a lawsuit, like it has in the past! I will completely involve myself should anyone want to start a class action!

me two

Took some classes there. I even have a degree. Its a worthless degree because they told me there were classes that were listed as required, but I didn't need to take them. I assumed they knew what they were talking about. When I tried to get a job using my degree I couldn't because of those classes I was told weren't needed really were needed. I tried to transfer my course credits to Arizona State Univ. When I asked the school about transfering the credits they laughed out loud at me. So I have a useless piece of paper and debts. Stay away from this place at all costs and if you really want thst degree, look around online and buy you one for $150. Wish I had.

Raven Ocara

So I will say; take my review with a grain of salt- my experience happened a few years ago; but looking at the most recent reviews- I can see obviously much has not changed from this school. I chose to write this review now because they recently tried calling my phone asking me to come back to school- sparked my interest to instead, tell them I am not coming back and write a review instead. I was working two part time jobs at the time and attending UoP in my local area. I found out about the school through one of my relatives who, wanted me to get a college degree and heard from friends that it was a "good" school. So naturally, I applied and didn't think to look up the reviews until after it was too late... but we will get to that. My enrollment councilor screwed me over financially. She told me I was approved for a $5500 grant- I found out after I got an email a few months later that- in fact- it was not a grant, it was a LOAN, major difference as I was trying to avoid loans at all costs. When I found out about the loan- needless to say, I tried to work things out with the staff but I was out of luck and freaking out over the misinformation given to me; so I chose to leave UoP until I could figure out the financial situation. Fast forward a month- and sent debt collectors after me- I only took two classes during my entire time there and my loan I thought paid for those classes? I still don't know the full story behind that one but regardless, I owed them $1300 apparently so I just told them to buzz off and sent them the money not thinking anything of it. Except- my dumb self should have questioned them further because of that loan I had- because I also had to pay the loan off too for actually around that same amount. I will never find out the story behind the debt collectors- I'm still under the impression they scammed me because the loan should have took care of both the classes I attended. Regardless... After I left the school- I went and did some research only to find out too little too late that it turns out- their degrees cost an arm and a leg to obtain- but it turns out their degrees aren't really even worth anything to employers! It sucks getting a ton of student debt; happens to the majority of the population- but what sucks even more than accruing all that debt is finding out it basically was all for nothing. Employers laugh at the degree- it's a pointless piece of paper coming from UoP apparently. I was pleased with the teaching in my local area and the teachers were awesome! But that's the only positive thing I have to say about UoP aside from teaching me to look up school reviews and their degree worth before applying for the school. Stay far, far away from UoP. Not only is the school pricing high up there- but turns out the degrees aren't worth anything and in my experience, that staff were either untrained or flat out lied to me which almost financially killed me at the time since I was barely pulling over $10K a year. I laugh because what inspired the review was me getting a phone call asking if I'd be willing to come back- I'm curious to know if the school is hurting that bad to the point where they are trying to market themselves to former students to please come back despite previous experiences. No UoP, I will not come back- I do not wish to spend tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars only to find the face of my future employers laughing at it when I present it like such an accomplishment has happened- like putting blood, sweat, and tears into four years of my life for a piece of paper that turns out- might as well be burned it's so pointless. Stay away from this school- you will find other schools with much better programs, possibly more affordable, but mainly- a degree worth something.

Nikki White

After attending and transferring to another school, I see how poor of a school UoP actually is. They don't give each student the time they should to ensure they will do well. Not recommend for anyone to attend.

Ashley Walen

I stopped going there after they royally messed up my finances... 3 different people did nothing but blame the other one. I was going for accounting and business management. After finding out that they hired within I decided maybe that school wasn't capable of teaching me anything. Now my credit is fd and I have 10k in debt with nothing to show for it. I became a GM without them, so now I know college is unnecessary in life.

Catherine Mayo

I went to UOP for my AA, BS, and now have an MS in Psychology. My professors were for the most part worked out very well. The group projects were great! I also believe that you get out what you put in. I recommend this University!
