We bought penny tile for our 5 by 5 bathroom and payed for someone to install it on a Saturday and found that old world stone had not given us enough for the deminsions we informed them of. The penny tile was actually 11 by 12 rather than 12 by 12. We went to purchase more and found they were closed so we had to go all the way to Slc to buy completely different penny tile and complete the project that day. We went to return the unused tile to old world stone and they said that since they don’t usually have that type of tile on hand (they did when we bought it) that they would not refund our purchase even though they were the reason we had too little to use.

Unfortunately we didn't have a great experience with OWSI. Selection is great which is why I gave 2 stars, but too many surprise added costs that were not disclosed upfront. Even after we had ordered and paid for things we would get calls saying we owed hundreds of dollars more. If you are using them for granite/quartz counters, be sure to ask them to state up front all of the extra fees for the counter edges which also require additional material or you might get hit with an extra bill when you think you're all paid up. They didn't seem to understand their own ordering process when we bought our flooring and counters and we literally had to keep writing them more checks to cover things they missed and they wouldn't deliver our tile or counters until everything was paid for so not wanting to delay our basement any longer we just paid. Very unprofessional and it didn't seem like anyone there would just say "hey this was our mistake, we'll take care of it" it was always "sorry but you're going to have to pay more money because we missed this." I will definitely not go back there, there are better options.

I went in twice for the same purchase -- I tend to deliberate large purchases -- and both times the customer service was superb. Excellent. Fabulous. Both people who helped me were incredibly nice and patient, especially with my very wiggly 14 month old trying to, and succeeding at, running all over their show room. And offices. -_- The first time I went in I was overwhelmed by their selection, but a salesman asked me questions about my project and what I wanted and helped me find something I loved. When I went back to order, I had lost the notes that had the product information on it, but a saleslady helped me find them again. She even stayed an hour after they closed to get my order in. I will send everyone I know here and we will be buying all our future tile from Old World Stone.

Great selection and Fantastic help! We wanted something different and custom but didn't want to pay the enormous prices we were seeing. Bridget could read what I wanted before I even knew and brought out samples of even more amazing tiles and we used that as inspiration for a custom tile material and pattern. It was perfect for our project at an incredible price. My searching ended there and Josh was an incredible installer--professional, great attention to detail, eager to please, and fast! (The custom tile DID take a while to arrive so be aware of that if you special order.) They were all so good to work with from the sales help to the install. Buying our tile from Old World Stone was an easy experience, the sales staff was helpful and knowledgeable. After the sale they provided VERY POOR customer support. We had multiple problems, but they deferred all problems to the installer, who was the problem. They had no quality control process but left all quality questions or problems up to the installer who was contacted by OWSI, not us. We requested help several times and invited our sales person, to come and see the installation quality (we live less than a mile away from OWSI store) but there was no response. The installation took almost a month and a half. Problems with quality includes; wrong size grout gaps, inconsistent tile gaps, tiles not flat or straight on the wall or floor, sloppy grout lines, crooked and very poorly installed drain, and chipped floor tiles. We felt that OWSI customer service was only when it is convenient for them. It was apparent early on that the quality of the work was poor and not what we asked for. We felt abandoned by OWSI and feel that better customer support should have been given.

I would 100% recommend Old World to anyone looking for tile and flooring for their home. ESPECIALLY Skylar. Our builder sent us to Old World to pick out our flooring and tile, and working with Skylar was amazing. Knowing that we were determined to stick to our budget in some areas, Skylar came up with the most creative ideas to give those areas a very custom look, without breaking the bank. In our master bathroom we decided to splurge a little, and the design Skylar came up with leaves everyone saying "Wow." It's absolutely beautiful. I never knew I could love tile so much. I love every detail Skylar designed into our home. Each area he designed has something that I wouldn't have thought of myself, but it really "makes" the room. The best part is that Skylar is patient. We would often return with a slightly different idea of what we wanted, and Skylar graciously sat with us and replanned until everything was perfect. Our experience with Old World was awesome, and I'd recommend them to anyone.

Five years ago I would have recommended this company to everyone. However, we recently had a flood and had to redo our flooring and had such a negative experience. We went against our contractors advice and decided to go with Old World because of past experiences and it was to our detriment. The installer was very under-qualified in my opinion. The install job was sub-par for sure. He damaged our cabinets, baseboards, and molding. The flooring is not even and there are gaps between the planks. I am so disappointed in this company and just want to give everyone a heads up. Their show room is great but the final product is less than desirable for sure. Very unfortunate.

If you are thinking about using this place because they are cheap, it's because they're cheap for a reason. Their professionalism and customer service is the WORST. If you don't mind them messing up the measurements (which were taken by the owner), having to plan multiple days that they say they'll come back and finish the job but then don't actually come so you have to rearrange your schedule and miss work multiple days in a row, then this is the place to come. I regret immediately working with them and wish I had gone somewhere else for carpet, since it was the same price as three other places we went to. The rest of our plans we had of using them are in the toilet, because that's how we were treated. I keep reading about how great Skyler was, but we went in multiple times and he was "busy" just sitting around (I could see him).

Run for the hills... My wife and I decided to go with old world stone because of their prices compared to places like Home Depot and Lowe's, huge mistake. The customer service was fine at first unless something goes wrong and then it was the worst I have ever dealt with, the granite kitchen counter tops look nice but the installation was a mess not only did they mess up on the cut of the Granate but the salutations to solve it was to cut into my wall so the granite would fit. They didn't mount my dishwasher to the granite either and when ask if they would they told me it was part of plumbing and they don't do plumbing. We ordered a full bull nose and didn't get it and still had to pay half of the bull nose after two weeks of fighting with both OWS and the installers who I believe is a company called "cutting edge" Kellie was the most helpful but couldn't do much when it came down to it and Skyler was a joke to say the least, I can go on and on about how awful our experience was, I promise that if you use them, like me, you will wish you paid the extra cost for the peace of mind that comes from a Home Depot or Lowe's. And after all was said and done we didn't save any money. They didn't even deserve the 1 star I gave. and I'm sure that most of these 5 star rating are friend and or family.

Old world stone imports in Orem, they know their stuff. Skyler helped me there, and oh my did he make it easy. He helped me pick the perfect materials for my master bath reno, out of their many many options. Then when my contractor made change after change and mistake after mistake, Skyler handled each "issue" like a pro.

The 5 stars are purely for Sklyler. Skyler answered calls and returned phone calls to us after hours. He made a personal visit to our home to see how pleased we were. I love the tiles and wood floor he helped me choose. When I wanted a soapstone countertop and couldn't afford it, he guided me to an affordable honed granite that would give a similar appearance. I would recommend working with Skyler if you use OWSI. Also, our bill was very close to our bid and he helped us stay on budget.
