If you think this is all too glowing, I would challenge you to spend some time with anyone from The Collective, or any former clients of The Collective. You will think that you are in Jonestown (look it up) but with better style, a better leader, more enriching functions and definitely better drinks. At minimum nonlethal.

Buyer beware for their residential interior design services. Their designers are overworked, were unresponsive for large tracts of time, won't give you the time of day, and seem to have their priorities and workload focused more on commercial projects. They were condescending throughout and dismissive of our input, ideas, and questions. At the end of the day, they will present you with ideas recycled from previous projects after claiming to have worked many hours producing and customizing them for you.

This COLLECTIVE of stylish bacchians loves what they do, where they live, and who they work with - and it shows. Cityhome COLLECTIVE is more than a realty and design business. It is the throbbing heart of Salt Lake City. That's my review. Now here's my story. I was recently a first-time home buyer. I am cautious, picky, attentive to detail, financially analytical, and have a wife with a finely honed sense of style. In other words, the perfect storm of pain-in-the-ass clients. When looking to move to Salt Lake City from Southern California we began following cityhome's blog and quickly fell in love with what they were about. Our tastes clearly aligned with theirs, but I was unsure if they were top notch realtors. I formally interviewed Mr. Derrick for an hour and a half alongside several other highly qualified and referred agents. I conducted reference calls on his (and the other agents') prior clients. After all was said and done I comfortably selected him to find and secure our dream home. The search process was easy. We found a home we loved, but after weeks of due diligence and contracting we backed out (due to house-specific reasons). Cody didn't skip a beat. He called from his vacation and got the search process going again. Holla. We found another dream home, but the price wasn't right. I can tell you right now that Cody's negotiating skills are shear wizardry. That silver tongued devil worked the price of the home down a hefty amount -- so much that the appraisal came in way above our contract price. Baller. There's this random person that can really affect the sale price, the ease of the process, etc. I was so anxious / stressed about choosing the wrong agent, I thought about going the self-sale route. But working with Monica ended up being the best thing that could have happened to me. She was kind, empathetic, patient, understanding, and most impressively, willing to repeatedly go above and beyond with a smile on her face. I had a unique situation where I had to finish the sale process from another country. She prepared the open house, met potential buyers, met contractors / service personnel, and kept an eye on the house when I wasn't able to be there. I also had some last-minute water issues at the property (ugh). We had very particular needs, and so we wound up looking at dozens upon dozens of properties. We also wound up bidding on multiple places and cancelling accepted contracts more than once. During the process, Brian was very flexible in taking us to see places. He was also very patient with us as we looked over many months, and we never felt like he was pressuring us to buy. When it came to bidding, he offered us good advice when we asked for it, and he went the extra mile to assist in the process when we were out of the country and needed someone on the ground to take care of certain things for us. On the selling side, Brian was also a pleasure to work with. We have been long-time fans of City Home Collective but didn't have an opportunity to work with them until just a month ago when we decided on a whim to buy a new house (and sell our old).
