My business is growing and we needed a bigger and more professional space. Ida York Interior design came highly recommended for my professional office design needs by a few people in my network. Ida sat down and learned about my business, its needs and the space I was looking to update. I really enjoyed the meeting and some of the ideas she was already sharing. The design that they put together is amazing as it completely refreshes the space with new furniture, art and layout. Ida was also cognoscente of my budget and was able to keep the costs down by picking stylish, but affordable furniture. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the plan and service that Ida York Interior Design provided me.

Just a quick update for my review from last year. We had Ida back!! She helped with the design of my master bathroom and it's equally as fabulous as she is! Seriously, don't even bother looking anywhere else. Even if you have to stand in line, Ida York Interior Design is the only way to go! Chances are, if you are reading this, then you are in the market for an interior designer. Well, you can stop your research because I have discovered Portland's best designer. Allow me to share a bit of my experience of working with Ida York Interior Design. My job requires me to work with a lot of designers. We have many reputable interior designers in the Portland area and I enjoy working with all of them. However, working with Ida York has proven to be the best experience to date. I first met Ida York at Serving up Style; a lupus awareness event. Ida contracted with us to do some painting and glazing for her set design. She was a dream to work with and she won one of the awards. That experience prompted me to hire her to re-design my entire master bedroom. The pictures posted here are the finished product. Our bedroom is incredible!!! She designed everything including all the furniture, a built-in, custom sewn bedroom linens, window covering, art work, lighting, rugs and accessories. The bedroom is such a peaceful retreat after a busy, stressful day at work. It’s my favorite room in the house and everyone that has seen it is just as amazed as we are. During the design of the master bedroom, I was able to refer Ida York to a client who was struggling with some finish choices as she was attempting to update her house. Well, Ida, with all her instinctual design, experience and personality landed the account and ended up with a three phase entire house re-design which includes new furniture, kitchen remodel, bathroom remodel, master suite remodel, flooring, window treatments, wallpaper and so on. The client is overjoyed and so are we. She’s completed the first phase and when all three phases are complete, will post more pictures. Just a few observations about Ida; she has natural talent, she has experience, she has the right vendors to order her products from and she’s an absolute pleasure to spend time with. Just a phone call to her will enlighten you. And, if you think spending money on an interior designer is only for the very well-to-do, think again. I hired her for my master bedroom and I think if I would have done that all myself, I would have spent more because I don’t have the same connections and would have had to pay retail and made many costly mistakes. And, the end product would have been nothing like what she designed. It felt like we were on HGTV doing a makeover with Candice Olsen and I’m not kidding!! So, why trick yourself, when you can treat yourself? If you are going to do any re-design or de-decorating, just go straight to the top!!

When I met with Ida York, form Ida York Interior Design, in Portland, OR, I was compelled by how important it was for her to incorporate the logistics of my business into the design. Ida sets herself apart from decorators because her company is a full service interior design firm. With her degree in Interior Architecture she is with the project from conception to completion. This woman amazed me by the amount of detail she placed into my project and everything about the project was presented in such an organized manor. I could really get a sense for how my space was going to look by the sketches and material selections revealed. I truly believe this company has found their niche in the design world as restaurant and hospitality designers.

I knew what I wanted in terms of the larger picture but I needed expert guidance and support executing details. My experience with Ida York and her team was truly fantastic! They listened to my ideas and requests and created a bid within my budgetary guidelines. Ida and her team were easy to communicate with and went above and beyond to make the clinic flourish esthetically. Projecting the right image in the right way to draw clients is a combination of art and science that requires skill to achieve. I recommend these folks because their team consists of experts in transformation, and they understand what businesses need - a plan of action with a predictable cost. They do amazing work with interior design, and they make everything part of a comprehensive plan. They consider visibility, population, feasibility, and marketing/branding to create a plan of action with measurable results. They create attractive and effective design plans, and back it up by helping owners calculate the appropriate anticipated increase in revenue and determine how much time it will take to recoup the expenses of the project. The passion they bring to restaurant and hospitality design is obvious (and where their approach especially shines), but they have done work for non-hospitality businesses I work with as well and have done equally impressive work. I am so impressed by Ida York Interior Design and the results they deliver that I highly recommend them to my tenants (I'm a property manager) and anyone else looking for transformative design. Update: These folks are great and I continue to be impressed by them and their work. I still give them my highest recommendation.
