Irene with Design Allure did a fantastic job of staging one of my listings in the SE Woodstock area. Even with our current adjusting market (Fall 2018), the house received multiple offers and sold in less than 4 days above the list price. Although the location was good, it's popularity had a lot to do with Irene and expertise and advise. The seller told me that he wanted his vacant home to have the same feeling that he first got when he bought it with furniture in it. His home was vacant when I first saw it and pretty warn down, well lived in, and needed a major spark! Irene came in and suggested all new paint colors for the walls, new light fixtures, and then transformed the house with her creative style and well appointed furniture. In the end, all I heard from buyers and agents was "who did the staging, it's amazing!" Kudos to Irene for transforming my listing into one of the best looking houses in SE PDX- and at a reasonable price!

I just started a major home remodel project with Design Allure. I have not done anything like this before and I didn't really know where to start. Irene (the owner) and the rest of the Design Allure team helped me figure out what styles I like and what I don't, and to come up with an overall feel for the property. The next step was a detailed walkthrough of the house with the designers and construction contractor (PDX Restoration Group). The designers and contractor offered excellent suggestions that I never would have thought of. Together we came up with a comprehensive plan that I'm really excited about. The next step is to come up with detailed budgets and timelines and then the real fun can start. I really appreciate the way that Irene has taken the time to explain the process, break it up into manageable pieces, and let's me know exactly what to expect at each stage. I feel like I'm getting a free education in interior design. I couldn't be happier with the entire team at Design Allure. I'll post additional updates as the project moves along.

Irene’s staging of our house made such a difference in the marketing and sale of our home. Our home had good bones but was small and in need of some freshening up. Irene worked with our agent, handyman and painter to coordinate colors, lighting upgrades and to give the home a charming warm feel. Her furniture choices allowed prospective buyers to see how they could most efficiently use the space and helped encourage four different buyers to put down offers. Our home sold for over $80,000 above where our agent originally priced the home based on a pre-staging assessment. Staging with Design Allure was a great return on investment, thank you Irene!

Design Allure did an excellent job staging my house for sale. Not that I myself would really be in a position to judge, but everybody who saw the house or the pictures said it was beautiful and tasteful, and the house sold in about two days, after being on the market without staging for two months. They were really easy to work with, took care of everything with minimal effort from me, and the price was quite reasonable. Really the only surprise was that they required 100% payment up front, before they'd actually done anything inside the house, which seemed a little risky on my part. But everything worked out fine, so no worries in the end. I would absolutely hire them again, and would highly recommend them for any design or house staging work.

Design Allure did an excellent job of staging our home when we put it on the market, which no doubt helped the house go for above asking price. I would definitely recommend this company for their staging service, as it is a simple transaction without much need for communication or collaboration. For interior design services, however, I would not recommend this company. We were on a tight design timeline for our new home and, though promising deliverables at the outset, the designer was not able to meet deadline. I was understanding and repeatedly tried to employ a solutions-based approach, but the designer doubled-down on her adversarial communication style and then pulled out of the contract entirely, leaving us even further behind deadline and out $3500. I do not like to leave negative reviews, especially for small businesses. We are all just trying to make a living and follow our passions. But after repeated attempts on my part to remedy the situation were met with adversarial communication from the company’s owner, I am not left with many options. I am certain this review will elicit a highly passive aggressive response from the owner in which she will cooly detail all of the ways her company was entirely in the right and I was entirely in the wrong. This was the approach she often used in her communications with me, so I won’t be surprised. All I can say is that you should be *very sure* that this designer’s communication style works for you before contracting with her. If you value non-violent communication in stressful situations, however... look elsewhere.

Virtual design customer: Before contacting Design Allure my family had lived in our home for 9 years, during initial construction all of the rooms were revamped with cabinets/counters/trim but the home theater room and bathroom were to be the main entertaining part of our home. As an engineer with a young family such big plans for the space were never completed. The space has so much opportunity but I found it difficult to put a vision of the space into motion.
