We decided to remove a wall between the kitchen and the living room and by the way to remodel our kitchen. Duh. That was more that we could handle. We wanted something that would look really nice, stylish and not too much, but we had no clue how to proceed. Someone recommended Laura and from the very first minutes we knew it was the right decision. She just knows how to do it. We were struggling around the island, since we have a small kitchen and we wanted to optimize the space, but no one could understand and propose us a non-standard shape island. Which Laura did easily and it is amazing. She listened to all our requests and designed it to our needs. Another thing that I am very thankful for Laura's help is the tile, that is going up to the ceiling about the sink and pleasing my eyes each time I look at it and I feel like I am in a kitchen from magazine and can't believe it is at my own house. Thank you!

I actually won the initial consultation through a school fund raiser/auction. But many beautiful things came about as a result of the consult. Laura helped picked colors for a couple bedroom walls, and picked gorgeous fabrics for window coverings for 3 bedrooms. Our master bedroom feels much warmer - in a “feeling good” kind of way cause we don’t need anymore “heat” here in North Carolina! And the other 2 bedrooms feel “complete” now. I have a few other projects I plan to have Laura help me with. She has excellent taste!

We initially contacted Laura for a color consultation, but were so impressed with her that we asked her to develop a design plan. She made the whole process so easy; not only is she fun to work with, but she is incredibly organized! She sets clear expectations and deliverables every step of the way, so there are no surprises. We gave her a tough task – to design a sophisticated family room that could withstand kids, one dog, and a cat – and she did not disappoint. She worked to find us fabrics that not only looked good, but could handle our rambunctious bunch. The end result was beautiful! My husband and I love working on our house, constantly changing things up and we always have a million and one idea of what we want done and how it should look. I will admit I am quite set in my ways, and so is my husband. When we bought our beach house we decided to give an Interior Designer a try, just to see what would come of it. We are so glad we did! We renovated the house ourselves and wanted to keep some original elements. I had a ton of ideas, but all of them together did not make sense to me yet. At the end of our journey, we had a beautiful beach living room with modern, vintage and some of original house pieces coming together in one eclectic, almost whimsical way. Laura is very knowledgeable and has a great taste, that goes without saying. All you need to do is look at her portfolio and you will definitely like what you see. She is very versatile and open minded. However, what impressed me the most is how easy it was to work with her, how non-intrusive her style and work ethic is. I contacted Laura to talk about window treatment options for my home. She was quick to respond, came over and took time explaining the different options to me. She was so observant and noticed my love of color. After we chose a design, she brought over fabrics (all of which I loved). We picked a fabric and we were both giddy with excitement! Throughout the project, she was clear with timelines and communicated when things changed, which I really appreciated. The finished product is absolutely what I first envisioned when contacting Laura, but had no clue how to achieve it. Laura walked me through the process like a breeze. I so loved working with her. She took time to get to know me, was professional and did an excellent job. I will be contacting her again for any future needs and I highly recommend her. I had a wonderful experience and learned things too!

Laura helped to realize our vision or our new house, which was a big shift from contemporary modern to a hybrid Craftsman/ mid century modern style. We even consulted her before we bought the house to decide what existing furniture would work and we wanted to replace. She is so much fun to work with and is very intuitive, getting you to what you want rather than what you ask for. She was a tremendous resource for picking out new furniture and selecting fabrics, and did a great job getting our blinds installed. Laura's fee is very fair and she didn't try to sell us on stuff we didn't need. Highly recommend LK Design!

I can't say enough good things about our experience with Laura. First and foremost, she's an absolute delight to be around. She is incredibly perceptive and was able to bring our vision to life. When all was finished, our master bedroom exceeded our expectations we had at the beginning of the process. Laura is a great artist as well as very organized. Not once we thought she was not handling timelines or contractors, as artsy people can be a little bit more relaxed in business. Laura was on the top of everything. Have we not moved cross country, Laura would be doing another project in our home.

It was finally time to put up the window treatments in our new house. I did some research and selected Laura Koshel of LK Design. We set up an initial meeting to look at the windows, discuss the type of window treatments she had in mind, fabric type, and price. We signed a contract and then she set out to look for the fabrics on her own. We had a second meeting to choose fabric. All fabrics were perfect choices but Laura helped us pick the perfect one for each window. We made a decision and they were installed a month later. We couldn’t be happier with her service. She was with us every step of the way including installation. We had a glitch with measuring on one window blind and one valance. At our request, Laura came back to lower all valances and she was very happy to oblige. All of our concerns were resolved and we are very happy with the result. I would recommend Laura to anyone who needs quality custom window treatments.

Laura is great to work with. She has both design and organizational skills. She listened and asked questions until she understood what we wanted. Then she came up with a plan, a timeline, and a budget, in writing. She stuck to all three beautifully, keeping us posted on progress as things went along. Expect her to arrive to the minute when she said she would come, with everything she said she would bring for you, and to followup when she promises to do something. Plus -- the results are fun and awesome looking!

After a flood of our entire downstairs we hired Laura to provide us with a fresh start. She was excellent in all aspects of design. Her expertise not only covered one room such as the kitchen, but a multitude of rooms as our entire downstairs needed redesign. She was excellent at pulling all rooms together to create one canvas of color and style. In addition, she was very easy to work with, easily accessible, and I felt went out of her way to assist us when we fell under various time constraints. She was also able to smoothly guide my wife and I to mutual choices when we were not in agreement. Finally, as this was our first major redesign, Laura made us feel comfortable with the process, asked lots of questions to understand our preferences, listened to our wants, needs and concerns and in general worked with us on a very individualized level. It made us feel like we were the most important redesign client she had. Finally, she gave us options from turn key renovation ideas to options that allowed us to redesign at our own pace. I can say , that she offered detail and customer service rarely found in today’s market place.

We purchased a new home two years ago, but given that my husband and I have differing styles and strong opinions, we had a hard time coming to an agreement on how to decorate our house. We asked for a consultation with LK Designs to discuss our living room area. Laura was oh so very patient with us, and helped us agree on window treatments and colors for our open concept first floor. She shared several concepts with us, took our feedback, stuck to our budget and helped us find the right fabric for the valances. She oversaw every detail of the installation and the result is gorgeous! Based on our first experience, we also asked Laura to help us tackle a "floating bar" wall in our dining room. We had a general idea that we wanted floating shelves for liquor bottles and glassware. We shared our initial thoughts with Laura and she was able to provide several options and diagrams for what might work in our space. She made it easy for us, providing suggestions for mirrored shelves, an accent mirror, and other pieces. She also helped oversee installation and staging the bar for photos. The final result is amazing and we've received so many compliments on each piece. We love the product and look forward to working with Laura on future projects in our home!

Working with Laura was a breeze! We needed new cellular shades in several areas of the house, and she provided a great product and great service. She was responsive to questions and quick with follow up. And she was able to creatively get the product quickly so we had just one night in our new home without shades in the bedroom.
