I am "design challenged." Regardless of how hard I try, I can't tell how a little piece of cloth will translate on a large sofa. Finding Cat French was a wonderful gift. She worked with me over a period of three months to transform my ho-hum home into a comfortable and welcoming space. The result was unexpected and a delight. I now live in a place that is peaceful and playful. My family and friends love the change. Working with Cat was easy. She was always prompt and prepared for our meetings. She and her friendly staff kept in continual contact with me and were always responsive. Cat asked insightful questions to determine how I lived and used the space. After our initial consult, she developed a plan and set realistic expectations about what could be done given my timeframe and budget. It was fun to see what she and her designers came up with and to have access to their expertise and resources. My only regret is my budget wasn't bigger!

I completely and highly recommend Cat and her team. They did the entire design for the first floor of my home and it is stunning! I finally have the perfect space to entertain and spend time with my family. The development process was wonderful, the team really listened to what I wanted for my space and put together color and furniture design that really fits my personality and lifestyle. I can’t wait to contract her team to get my second floor redesigned. I find myself spending all my time downstairs after the remodel. I had to wait for her to be available, and it was completely worth it! Thanks to Cat and her team!

Working with Catherine French and her team was an absolute dream. They helped to redesign my living room and sunroom. Their consultation and process was so smooth -- they really listened to what our style/tastes are, as well as the realities of our life (2 small kids!), and designed spaces for us that really work for us. The whole process was really transparent and ordering/selecting the pieces for the spaces was so easy. We may build or buy a new house soon and we will *definitely* be using CFD to help us design spaces.

We interviewed several design firms before selecting a designer to work with on our renovations. Catherine French and her associate joined me at my home to discuss the projects my husband and I had in mind. During our initial phone call I discussed a modest budget of $30-35k, which she bumped up to $60k during our in-home meeting. The majority of the in-home meeting was reviewing their current project and how they keep clients aware of the project details. This meeting cost us $150. We met other design firms at their office to do the initial meet and greet and understand how they bill and work with contractors, etc. When in our home other designers charged us at similar rates, but took more time to walk through our space, take measurements, and really understand what would help us most with renovating the space. Just know that the initial meeting is not worth the $150 or at least set expectations to have them do more understanding of your needs/wants and space versus how they operate.

I worked with her a few years ago on “freshening” up my house. I felt like she was talented as an interior designer but we had difficulty in the end communicating about my budget. I mistakenly used the word “hope” when talking about budget- I “hope” to keep this under x amount. She didn’t stay under that budget and didn’t inform me that she was going to go over that amount which I would have appreciated. I take responsibility for my part and will be careful about using the word “hope” again. She did not discount her services (only taking off for what she charged to meet with plumbing fixture supplier which I had told her I would do myself) so I thought she could have done a little more instead of the blame falling entirely on me.
