Our salesman was awesome! Delivery was not so awesome. A portion of our order was not delivered on our delivery date. Apparently someone at the warehouse forgot to load all of our items on the truck. When we realized a portion of our order was absent we were told that it could be delivered the following week. Sadly, we had taken time off to receive the delivery, and as we both work full-time, and with kids back in school, we would have a very difficult time being home for another three hour delivery window. That left us the only option of going to the warehouse ourselves. Which we did. Seems super-lame to pay for delivery only to have to go to the warehouse ourselves to retrieve our items.

Very understaffed at least on a Friday evening..... Knew what we wanted and waited around 45 minutes for a salesman to be available to help. Walked around and found nobody. We had someone page for help but I think there simply was no one to answer the call. Salesman we finally got was very nice. Happened to catch him as his other customer was leaving.

I am pleased to say that the Italian Leather furniture set we recently purchased from American Home is far more enjoyable than we had imagined. After having outfitted several homes at American Home Furnishings, we have enjoyed the quality, selection and pricing each time. On those rare occasions when we purchased furniture at one of the other big stores we weren't as happy. There is no reason to go any place else. We highly recommend American Home Furnishings.

The salesmen are considerably nicer than other furniture stores, and they leave you alone if you let them know you are just browsing. The selection is large, and the quality tends to be better than other stores in the area. Prices appear to reflect the quality of the furniture. I recommend this place.

As is common with most, the selection of a piece of furniture can be overwhelming, especially when shopping at American Home. They have such a vast variety of extremely nice, quality furniture that it can be a daunting task to make a decision & stick with it on your way to pay. Prices are equivalent to the quality of the items, definitely not cheap. I had been hopeful after seeing commercial stating they did not have the "stalkers" anymore. However, I ended up with a stalker and had to ask him to give me some space so I could look at my own pace. This would be a '5' if I hadn't been stalked.

Horrible experience still waiting for customer service to call and let me know what's happening ordered bunk beds back in 2015 already finished paying and never received them when they called me to pick them up one of the bed was damage they told me they would order a new set but where in back order and would contact me when ready to pick up never received a call. I called them recently and they said I had already picked them up stated I did not a lady named Cassandra told me they where going to investigate till this day I have not received a call back!!

I will say the staff tries to take care of customers but what they have on the floor is never in the warehouse. I have shopped here for over 5 years and have NEVER had a timely order. They seem to always have to order mist if the order. I can say I am finished with this store. If you don't mind waiting forever and getting wrong products, only to wait longer then you will be fine but if you're looking for timely service look elsewhere.

The Albuquerque, NM American Home Furniture and Matress store on Menaul has some of the best people in sales, credit, customer service, warehouse, and delivery in the industry. Friendly, personable, and helpful. We bought two major items so far and have only good things to say about the staff. Lest I forget, AHFM have the best products from which to select. Whether it’s stools for the breakfast island, TV Centers, exceptional mattresses and accompanying bed room suite, American Home will delight you. We’ve got our eye on a few more items for a future date. Enjoy shopping.

They also have furniture, as the name would indicate, of just about every style as well as a clearance center off Pan American freeway.

My girlfriend and I had a great experience shopping at American Home Furniture in Albuquerque. If you want nice mid-range furniture I would highly recommend this store. Most couches will run between $1-$4K depending on the configuration, so it is not the high end such as Stressless or Horchow, but also not the low end furniture that you toss in a couple years. Our salesman, Bruce Chongvilaivan, was responsive and very friendly, but also didn't hover around us as happened in another store in the same area. He was very knowledgeable about the furniture and was eager to assist us in whatever way possible. Highly recommended.

Do not buy from these guys. we bought a double recliner sofa which my son and grandson were to pick up. the salesman said it could be picked -up at 10:00am . they arrived to get the sofa and were informed it was at the warehouse which did not open until 1200am. the manager was not very friendly and his attitude toward the customer begs to wonder how he got the job. we have shopped ar AH before with no problems, we did not purchase the sofa after all. had four relatives on hand to take it off the truck and move it into our house which was a complete waist of time for all of us. my wife and i are handicapped and found a sofa we liked . If disabled vets are treated this way, i hope it reflects on their future sales. bns

Our experience was amazing from beginning to end! Went in to purchase new couches for our new home and our salesman helped us find the perfect ones. They were then delivered that weekend. The delivery guys were very sweet and super helpful! They even got to our home 2 hours earlier than what was originally estimated earlier that week. Had our new living room couches set up in minutes. I used to go here as my favorite furniture store . Am very sad to report it isn't, in my opinion near what it was. I grant it was black friday, but other stores had plenty of help. No one even asked if we wanted help (we absolutely would have made a purchase of several hundred dollars). The only sales person who even stopped when we had question didn't believe the store had any mirrors (They do) and didn't know there was a drinking fountain. And then hurried away. Not a good sign.

Took the wife shopping for a new sectional sofa this past Labor Day at American Home. We found one we liked and was ready to buy, however it had three different price tags on the sectional. Two were lower prices and one was significantly higher. Doing a bit of quick math the numbers did not add up. When we found a sales individual we inquired about the price of which he chose the highest price on the sofa. We decided to walk around and rather quickly found ourselves back at the same sofa with a second sales associate near by. We again inquired about the three prices. When he told us the price was the highest listed I inquired why the sum of the two separate parts were less that what was advertized he had no viable response. In the end if we were to buy the two separate sections we would pay less than what was advertized and quoted. In the end we decided not to buy from American Home based off our negative experience.

Crap furniture and decent furniture. It is really up to the customer to find quality pieces here. The sales staff are very aggressive. Greg (salesman) is a moron and tried to make me pay full price for a memory foam mattress. I went elsewhere and received 450 dollars in comps. I went back to find patio furniture and struck an awesome deal with Kevin. He was very friendly, honest, and easy to work with. If you have the time and the money try the Amish Connection, but it is quite pricey.

Purchased a loveseat and sofa about 1 year ago with American Home here in ABQ. Looking back, it was clearly bait and switch. We were given quite the sales pitch on the warranty and rebate (which we never got). Now 1 year later, both couches have springs popping out and staples coming out galore. The cushions are tearing from the back of the sofa and the seat cushions are basically flat. This is a lightly used couch considering I work 70 hours a week - not much time to sit at home and "ruin" these couches. I call Customer Service and to my surprise, I now have to pay for someone to come check the couches and validate the issue. Pretty normal, but most companies will refund that amount when and if there is a warranty issue. Not the case here. Had to pay $38 for some guy to tell American home that the couches need to be repaired. I get a call then from Customer Service advising that they want to setup the repair, but oh by the way - our warranty does not cover the labor to fix your couches. So now I am looking at $200/300 to "repair" 1 year old couches that are sold as "high quality" and with a great warranty!! Recently, had an issue with a dresser from Ashley furniture - Surprise, they did all the work and replaced the parts no charge, delivered it for free and even gave me a coupon to their store. American Home better keep up - this is what layoffs and bankruptcy is made of.

We have never had any problem with American home. Everyone is usually very nice and yes there are some really pushy sales people. I just let them know to leave me alone. I bought a couch, love seat and ottoman 6 years ago and I still have it and is in good condition. No tears or buttons missing. I am now buying a leather sofa and loveseat. I hope there are no problems like I see others having.

Walked around for 40 min even though we found what we wanted while a salesman talked on the phone planning dinner tonight for 20 min (speghetti apparently) 2 other associations literally walked passed us even when my wife asked for assistance. He said he'd be back. Never did. It also was dead with one other party in the whole store. This sales department is a joke. But found the same couch set up the street 400 cheaper. We recently purchased a Stearns and Foster bed from Cynthia at American Home Furniture Store in Albuquerque. We were extremely pleased with her help. She was informative while not at all pushy. She let us make our own decisions without pressure. There were no hidden costs, as we were warned by a mattress dealer across the street, and delivery was free. It was a very good experience and a pleasure to work with Cynthia.

I Call It Like I See It And Don't Care

I special ordered a recliner from the Menaul location in May. When it was finally delivered in August there were some issues with it. I called customer service and they tried to resolve my concerns but couldn't so they escalated it to the store manager. After a couple of weeks or so they called me back and asked if the manager had gotten back to me and I said no. So the customer service representative said she would email him again. That was around 3 weeks ago and I still haven't heard from him. So even though customer service was friendly and tried to resolve my concern I give 2 thumbs down to the store because the manager can't be bothered to get in touch with me. Even if they're not willing to do anything they should still let me know. UPDATE: Shortly after posting this review the store manager called and resolved my concerns to my satisfaction. I upgraded my rating to 3 stars.

What a fun place to visit! This store reminds me of a vintage Ikea circa 1980. It's pretty drab and has a "dusty without being dusty" kinda feel to it, but somehow that just works and makes this place an EXPERIENCE. There's selection of furniture items and some really great deals. We managed to snag a great deal on a new mattress, foundation, and bed frame - all for about $1,000.

Had a warranty issue with a new piece of furniture. Spoke with Customer Service and the part was suppose to be sent to my address. After many weeks I contacted Customer Service and they misplaced the paperwork and finally ordered it. Same situation again on a replacement part, this time after " 2 1/2" months I spoke with them and the original order was lost....Again. The part that continues to fail I think is a Quality Assurance Issue so I spoke with the manufacture and they said I needed to submit my recommendations via Customer Service, contacted Customer Service and explained the process from the manufacture and they assured me they would send a email today so the Quality Assurance Recommendation can be forwarded..........Again no email to start the process. I feel they have a high volume of Business on the Front End but lack Severely on the back end in Customer Service. Products they sell are good but the Customer Service is there Achilles Heel. Fresh Leadership and Team building with get them back to "Industry Standards.

The furniture is way over priced and complete junk. I paid $5,000 for a set flex spring sofas. Within a year they were falling apart and the so-called leather is chipping and cracking/ tearing. Even with the leather conditioner that they conned us into buying. Save your money and buy from a place like Mor Furniture or Costco or Sams Club or even La-Z-Boy if you're going to spend that much.. I wish I could post pictures to show you all.

Their selection of furniture is probably the best in New Mexico. I read though a few other reviews about where folks have had customer service issues, or they had to jump through hoops to return stuff, or had bad delivery drivers, so I thought I would add my 10 cents worth. Firstly nothing is ever perfect, and sometimes things happens. I've been shopping at American for over 30 years without any issues. Drivers have always been friendly and walk through the various features. I've returned stuff and never had any hoops to jump through. Occasionally I've had to wait for a sales person, but they have to help everyone, not just me. As I mentioned earlier they have a great selection of furniture, so dont just read our reviews and form an opinion, go see for yourself. I think you will like what you see, and if you don't it's not like they will hold you captive.

Everything is extremely overpriced. Some items "on sale" are still priced too high, and they have commissioned salespeople, which doesn't help. I don't want to haggle on prices. It's 2017. Dump the salespeople, and lower your prices. Most of us do our homework on the internet anyway. I would be fine with a kiosk ordering station and free delivery. You must offer free delivery! In the alternative, more and more people will be ordering from Amazon, Overstock, Wayfair, and the like. Then one day soon American Home and Furniture will cease to exist. Save your business now, before it's too late.

I purchased the Kuka brand leather sofa recliner and loveseat recliner set and start having issues with the recliner mechanism about a year later. I contacted American Home Furniture and a technician came out and examined the sofa. A replacement part was ordered at the beginning of the year and to this day my sofa is still not repaired. Their service department would call me monthly and tell me that the replacement part was ordered, but months and months went by and no replacement part came in. Finally I received a call at the beginning of July that my part finally made it from China and I scheduled a day/time for a service repair representative to come out. However, that day came and went and nobody called. I finally called that afternoon and they claimed they had a 'system glitch' and the service repair tech never saw my appointment. I rescheduled for two weeks later and AGAIN I was forgotten due to a 'system glitch' and was asked to reschedule for two weeks later. I now have another appointment scheduled for the end of August, so we will see if this happens or not. Moral to my story is pay extra and buy quality sofas from Lazyboy! We have family with these sofas and they have had then for 15 years. If something went wrong, Lazyboy would have them fixed within a week. I don't typically leave bad reviews, but unfortunately American Home Furnishings has completely failed again and again and this is not acceptable. UPDATE 12/08/17: American contacted me and I was able to exchange my defective sofa for a new set of my choosing and pay the difference. For this reason, I would consider using American in the future.

Just had our new living room furniture delivered and we are thrilled with it! If there is anything thing I’m disappointed with it would be the rug. We purchased a large carpet and instead of it being rolled, it came folded. I’m certain the creases will straighten but it is the only thing that’s not “perfect”.

I understand the salesperson who first accosts you at the door gets the sale but there must be secret staircases because no matter how stealtherly we moved around the store - BOING!!- up pops the same sales associate - "if you have any questions just let me know ". DO NOT BUY THE WARRANTY..,,,,, they give you a great pitch ,say it covers anything EVEN IF THE DAMAGE to your furniture IS CAUSED BY YOU ..,,,,NOT TRUE , I called in a claim and was told MY DAMAGE WAS NOT COVERED I was told it’s normal wear and tear Lol ( scratches caused by kids playing with toys on it and dents on my dining room table. ) I was also told if I never had to make a claim or use the warranty after 2 years I would receive a full refund .... it’s now been 2 years .., today I was told after 4 YEARS I would be refunded. LOL ..

Extremely over-priced. Salesman at warehouse didn't seem too interested in helping me when he realized I only had a $250 gift card. Went to their Menaul location and had much better salesman. Unfortunately my late afternoon purchase meant I had to wait to next day to drive back across town to pick up my chair at the warehouse location.

The worst experience I have ever had in a furniture store. The sales people would not leave me alone. Looks like they are desparate for a sale. The store looks old and a lot of dated upholstery. The manager was yelling at one of the sales people on the floor right in front of me. Just looks like cheap poorly made furniture that will break down before the year is out. I would never buy from this store or recommend it to anyone. Good luck.

We purchased a gorgeous sectional sofa from American and couldn't be happier!! We refinished our Media room/Office and wanted a large, comfy sectional to lounge in and entertain. We couldn't figure out how to make this happen so we worked with Elaine Roy on how to best utilize our space. She switched the configuration of our original layout which opened up the entire room and allowed us to have a beautiful sectional that seats a lot of people ( or just the two of us stretched out! ) without crowding the room. It changed the the way the entire downstairs feels! We love it!!! We would have never thought of changing things the way she did. Yay! Thank you!!!

C'mon salesmen, stop chit chatting and acctually help people! And when you do help someone, acctually do know what your selling. Make a system where you can keep records of what's in your 2nd store as well, don't just be saying we don't know what's in stock and sending your customers there to see for themselves, very unprofessional! Feels like the environment there is super outdated and so is your system, go upgrade!!! Or else your store will shut down due to not enough business!! Someone that I know also was there and was lied that the recliner that they bought was real leather but after further inspection when they came home it turned out it was fake leather and they just overpaid and guess what no refunds!!!! Guess what from now on I'm shopping online!

If you are a bit flexible, you will find very good quality at a very good price. We got a great mattress (Stearns&Foster) with fancy wood& wrought frame for <$1k, and I found my dream kitchen table extra tall (hip-high) with the top of wood & stone & 2 sturdy tall chairs/leather seats, very comfy for ~<$800. Delivery and setup included. I am very happy.

I purchased a couch a few weeks back that I was not satisfied with. When I came to exchange the couch, the sales person who sold me the couch was not happy and very rude to myself and my significant other. It made this process much longer and very irritating. I ended up speaking with a gentleman David Weinstein, who has taken care of me on the dot with full understanding and sympathy. If it weren't for David, I wouldn't return to this location because of my difficulies. Next time I purchase an item, I will be reaching out to David!

My wife was interested in a bedroom set at American Home Furniture. She called and spoke with a salesman named "Johnny". My wife specifically asked Johnny if the drawers were dovetailed. Johnny said he would personally go check the set on the floor and would call her back. Johnny called back and stated that the set was indeed dovetailed and was in stock. I drove into Albuquerque from out of town and contacted Johnny who took me to the bedroom set on the sales floor. I opened a drawer and noted that the drawers WERE NOT DOVETAILED!! Needless to say I walked out due to his blatant lie and will now NEVER do business with American Home Furniture again.
