Love this place! It all started one snowy miserable day when I walked in to look for an entry table on what certainly was a bad hair day for me. That's when I met Kristi - an outstanding designer. Since then, Kristi and her design team have helped me with furniture and design for our vacation condo in western Michigan, and ongoing re-do of our home not far from the store. The store has a wide selection of furniture and rugs. Kristi and the designers quickly picked up on my individual preferences and at no time did I feel pressured to buy. I stopped shopping anywhere else!

I have been buying oriental rugs and furniture from Kamran and Christie Karimpour, owners of Birmingham Design Studio, for over ten years. Their furniture offerings include some of the finest high end pieces in Southeast Michigan. Birmingham Design Studio also has one of the most unique and beautiful collections of oriental rugs, Persian rugs in particular, anywhere in Michigan or the Midwest. I am a collector of oriental rugs. I scour locally and regionally for fine pieces. Time and time again, I come back to Birmingham Design Studio for my purchases, because I know that they carry the best rugs, at prices that are fair and that reflect the extraordinary time and effort that Kamran has put into sourcing them. Kamran and Christie and their team at Birmingham Design Studio are also first rate interior designers. Some Southeast Michigan designers settle on a "theme", then build a furniture collection around that theme, without real regard for the customer's needs or preferences, and at prices that are often beyond what is reasonable. Not so the Birmingham Design Studio team. They spend time, lots of it, with their customers, without expectation or hard sell. If a sale is made, it is at fair prices. They stand behind their work and their products. You cannot go wrong with Birmingham Design Studio, if your objective is fine furnishings and impeccable interior design, coupled with excellent service.

My passion is Persian rugs, and I have realized that this is the best place to buy the most unusual, high quality pieces. Recently, Kristi and her design staff helped me to redecorate my home. They rearranged and added to my existing furnishings, to maximize the functionality of my space. It is truly like having a new home.

Birmingham Design Studio helped me transition into my new home without all the stress that comes with designing a room. Kristi always listened to my ideas for a practical and luxurious living space and incorporated that in her work. After agreeing on layouts for my dining, living and family room, the team at BDS helped choose everything from paint color, light fixtures, coordinating rugs and fabrics for furniture. I traveled to Highpoint, North Carolina to save money on designer furniture, but Kristi was able to price match the furniture I had chosen! BDS recommended painters, carpenters, electricians, flooring specialists, all of whom were very professional and never let me down. Unlike other design centers, there is no middle man, which allows the client to obtain a direct quote. No hidden fees. Before I met Kristi, I spent many hours shopping around across Michigan for fine rugs. However, making the right selection is challenging without an expert. Kristi never stopped looking for a quality rug that I was happy with. They shipped several rugs in and allowed me to actually try them in my rooms to make sure I was comfortable with the purhcase. They also really educated me on the qualtiy of different rugs, knots, origins, etc. Wow! Thats customer service. BDS is definitely an all service design studio with a superior team that is committed to ensuring that all clients are happy. I will never look anywhere else for my next project.

Highly professional and personalized service. I built a new house and was overwhelmed with the choices from cabinets, to knobs, to furniture, to paintings. Kristi was wonderful in simplifying the process, working with the builder, and creating the exact ambience I wanted. The selection of furniture, art, rugs, etc is the best in town. Everyone at BDS was very attentive to my schedule and when they stage the house watch out because a whirlwind of activity occurs and with Kevin's eye for placement, the house will look marvelous.
