I lucked into finding Jan and Lorin while searching for window treatment designers. Within two appointments, we’d selected fabrics and style for two bedrooms and two bathrooms. They brought lots of fabric samples, but the editing process went quickly. The reason I was more comfortable working with this team vs Smith and Noble, for example, is simple. Taste level, expertise AND their expert installer. My bathrooms are totally tiled and he had no problem drilling through marble and porcelain. All three were extremely knowledgeable, punctual and darn nice. I hope to see more of them soon when I redo my living room.

We have used Bertin's Decorating Den's services on two different occasions. One was for a major remodel on our living room and the second was for a new home office. Jan and Lorin listen! They took their time to really determine what it was we needed and wanted to make our spaces functional, efficient, inviting and warm. Their most recent job was for my home office and I absolutely love it! They gave me the right things I needed to really make that space desirable and beautiful for me as I transition to working from home full time. Jan and Lorin are also considerate of budget providing various options for what will stay within budget and where best to maximize dollars for those pieces that are essential. We were complete novices when it comes to buying furniture and decorating. Everything we had was either secondhand, or a couple of decades old, or both. We knew we needed help, so we asked Bertin’s Decorating Den to help us redecorate our living room. This was our first time working with a decorator, and we didn’t know what to expect. Jan and Lorin were open and direct about how the process works and were responsive to our many questions. From the very beginning, they asked about our budget comfort zone and stayed within it throughout. We had a few ideas about what we wanted, but nothing specific. Jan and Lorin were patient with us, learned our preferences, but also opened us up to ideas and concepts we never would have discovered on our own. While the focus was on just one room, the design was completely harmonious with the feel and flow of the house. They were generous with their ideas of what we might do in rooms that were outside the scope of the project. They listened to our ideas and came up with some designs for us to consider. We talked it over with them, chose one and they immediately set things in motion. We really benefited from their years of experience. For us, the choices available in the furniture market could be overwhelming at times. Working with Jan and Lorin, we felt confident that we were purchasing quality pieces that would come together coherently in the room. As sometimes can happen, there was a concern with one of the pieces was delivered. Jan contacted the company and followed up with them persistently, until the issue was resolved. We are very happy with our new gorgeous living room. We feel lucky to have found Jan and Lorin.

We bought a condo in Georgetown and needed to fully decorate and furnish it. No small task especially since we lived in Texas and needed to arrange everything half way across the country. I am totally convinced we could not of done it without Janet Bertin and her staff. Janet Bertin knew how to organize and arrange everything after we made plans on conference calls.
