Last year about this time of year ( April 2015) my husband and I decided it was time to update our mid 1970s home. Since my husband worked construction, he took on the role of general contractor and the work began. I stopped at Interiors… by design where I met lovely Lynn (Lynnie) Ford who graciously walked us through the remodel from beginning to end. She came to our home and we explained what we thought we wanted to see as our end result. Lynnie brought us several computerized design plans which were revised as needed during the remodel process. We were not only remodeling the kitchen but opening up our living and dining room by taking out an entire wall. We also wanted new oak kitchen cabinets and oak flooring in all three rooms and hallway. Dave Tranel assisted us in completing our flooring needs. (Lynn followed the carpenters rule of measuring twice and cutting once), so the floor to ceiling cabinets fit perfectly. I left on a Trip to visit my daughter and her new baby during the remodel process leaving everything in my husband and Lynnie’s hands. I came home my husband had the cabinets installed and oak flooring was installed. Lynn introduced me to several kitchen cabinet convenience designs which I dearly love…. a pantry with pull-out drawers, pull out spice cabinet, pull out utensil cabinet, and my favorite, a secret corner cabinet. Lynn listened to our concerns and questions as they came up. She shared her expertise every step of the way down to helping pick paint colors and cabinet hardware. I simply love our new Kitchen & living space. Thank You Interiors… by design for your help in making our home a beautiful and comfortable place to be!”

I couldn't be happier with our new island that Jamie helped design for our tiny kitchen. It is of great quality and they were able to match our existing doors exactly. Not only was it of quality but it was affordable and we received it in a timely fashion. They provided an installer who did a wonderful job and was also able to move our light for us. It was a beautiful gathering spot for our Thanksgiving and all were impressed. I will definitely go to Jamie and Interior Designs for my future home improvements:) Renee

My husband and I moved to Dubuque two years ago. We decided to build our first home, even after all the horror stories we heard from others that have built homes. After shopping the competition, we knew exactly who we wanted to work with for our cabinetry, tile, and flooring for our new home. Lynn was so knowledgeable, professional and just awesome to work with during what can seem overwhelming at times. She made it a pleasant, exciting and fun experience. She was always there for us. You can really tell that she cares and takes great pride in her projects and her customers. Our Amish custom cabinets for our kitchen, master bath, main bath and laundry room are beautiful! The detail and craftsmanship in their cabinets shows from the inside out. The finishes are beautiful and well made. It was more than we could have imagined. Lynn's special touches throughout the project made for a gorgeous finished product. When it came to the flooring, Dave was very knowledgeable about the flooring that we picked for our home. He was a tremendous help taking some of our ideas and implementing them into our beautiful master bath with an enormous walk-in tiled shower with pebble flooring. The wood flooring, tile and carpet throughout the house are perfect. We are just happy that we walked in to Interiors By Design that day and met Lynn and Dave. We are very pleased with the work from Interiors by design. We recently had our kitchen floor replaced with a solid oak floor that was finished here. They also replaced the floors in our bathroom, laundry room and entry way with ceramic tile. The workmanship from Dave and all members of the staff was outstanding. The men were kind, respectful and true craftsmen. I would highly recommend them for any and all projects.

My husband and I drove to this store (a 1 hour drive) on a Sunday, arrived at 2:45pm and it was not open....the sign on the door says ‘by appointment only’ but there is no mention of that when doing an internet search. Please update your hours on google.

We recently finished building our 4600 sq. foot home and used Interiors By Design for all of the flooring and tile work. We couldn't be happier with how everything turned out! Throughout the whole decision making to installation process, Dave was so great to work with and was very responsive to any questions or concerns that we had along the way. Dave and his team were so easy to work with for our home remodel. They saw my vision and knew exactly what to do. My kitchen turned out better than I could have imagined. Dave was always there to answer questions and make sure everything was what we wanted. Lynn came and measured our kitchen to make sure the measurements were exact and after making a few suggestions I am happy we listened to them. We also purchased our bedroom carpet from them and have received so many compliments. I will be a returning customer and definitely give them 5 stars for quality and customer service.

Where to start. If I could give 6 stars I would. When my wife and I decided at the beginning of 2016 to stay at our home instead of sell it, we knew it was time to "bring it up to date". When we saw IBD online and set up an appointment for Lynn Ford to come by and talk, we were sold in the first 15 minutes. Sitting at our kitchen table, she was very knowledgeable and patient with our ignorance. Never shoved anything down our throats, and from our first meeting was all about helping us save money and get the most out of our budget, ie suggesting that we don't need to replace our kitchen cabinets to get a fresh new look we will love. She had great ideas, and when she said IBD is full service and if they don't do it they know someone who will, we said sign us up. As Dave Tranel (owner) pointed out, there wasn't a room in our home they didn't do something to. New granite in kitchen and three bathrooms. New sinks and faucets. New flooring in EVERY room...a mixture of carpet, tile and resurfaced hardwood. Removed wall. New furniture. New lighting. Re-painted every room...and the ceiling. Capped our stairs with hardwood. Stained and painted our oak stairway in our entryway. Window treatments. Resurfaced cabinetry. New custom made Amish island...and the list goes on. We came up with a rough plan, which changed frequently as we went along, and Lynn got to work putting together samples for us to try out etc. She was in touch regularly over the spring and summer of 2016 as we went through this large transformation. Dave Tranel even helped move furniture on carpet install day. A sampling of people we worked with through IBD...Josh did an absolutely amazing, no, flawless, job lacing in our new hardwood and resurfacing from honey oak to walnut coloring. Casey from Imperial Stone in Dyersville helped us pick out granite in subzero temps, and her crew worked within our overall schedule to install, and its beautiful. Mark the "Do It All" guy has spent so much time with us he's almost family now...lent me tools, worked on his birthday and Father's Day and did so much great work in our house I can't even think of it all anymore. Sheila in Peosta is working on our window treatments as I write this. And Jen in Maquoketa is working with us right now to re-do our fireplace and kitchen cabinets. And of course the "Carpet Crew" who installed new carpet in six rooms and a stairway. These are just a few of the folks that have helped us. It has been a long process and we have wanted to give up a few times but thankfully IBD was there to help us. Of all the folks, "Lynnie" has far and above lived up to everything we expected. She has a great memory, remembering details when we couldn't, and always made us feel like we were her only client when I know we weren't. She made a point to swing by our house at times that were convenient to us (nights/weekends), if just to say "hi" and see how it was going. She has met contractors on site when we couldn't to let them in and supervise. Her decorating eye has been a blessing as my wife and I know what we like when we see it, but couldn't put together a theme to save our lives. She made decisions when we couldn't and of course made us paint the whole stinking house again, INCLUDING THE CEILING, but we couldn't have done it without her. Dave helped us through a couple spots of doubt and was always close by if we needed anything. I still have his cell number in my phone. We have made some new friends at IBD and I know we will be long standing customers. Their pricing is competitive and reasonable on what can only be described as quality higher end pieces. We are HUGE fans and will be cheerleaders for them and spread the word. If you are trying to find a full service company to help you with your remodel, big or small, or you just need a certain piece of furniture for a room, I would not hesitate to send you to Interiors By Design. Rita's furniture is beautiful and very high quality. It is not your typical box store quality that won't last or hold up. Her furniture is sturdy in structure, the fabrics are gorgeous, and she is actually an Interior Designer, not just a retail sales person. You won't be disappointed in her furniture or her design services. I can't recommend her highly enough. We're so fortunate to have this type of quality in our area!

We purchased everything interior from interiors by design from flooring to kitchen backsplash and more for our house that recently built.We can't say enough positive things about the quality of materials they carry and more importantly the people we worked with especially Dave and Jamie who were our lead contacts for our project. That being said everyone we worked with was top notch, including their installers. Our house is finished and we love, love, love it! Building can be stressful and not only did they help minimize that stress but they helped make it enjoyable! Bonus: they were comparable in price to other businesses that carry similar products! Awesome store for a small town. Very stylish, an old car dealership transformed to hip inner city. The negative comment from Trish Zuniga shows she never stepped into the store. I have only heard overwhelmingly positive things about this store and their customers. High end furniture, not for trailer trash..

This is a unique store , but it concerns me that she doesn't have a website that explains the products. I asked about products brands and the sale person was hesitant. I dont know every brand name , but buying something with a high price i need information, otherwise i would be a fool , probably buying fakes. Besides that this store is pretty cool and unique product.

We had a horrible experience working with this company. We had a very small bathroom remodel and it took over 12 weeks. Each step of the process the quality of the work was terrible. When I would call to question what was going no one would call me back. I ended up having to go into the office to get anyone to speak with me. We had drawers that would fall out of our cabinet when we opened them and were told, "that's normal". Even after they "completed" the job we had holes in our wall because of bad drywall that can't be fixed unless we tear down the walls and start over. Their crews were very careless and scratched up our existing hardwood floors during work. My biggest issue though, is that instead of acknowledging that there was a problem I was made to feel like a complainer and that I was bothering them. I would recommend steering clear.

We did cabinets, flooring, counter, and backsplash through Interiors…by Design and worked with Jamie for the entire project and love her! The consultation meeting where she came to see our existing kitchen and hear what we wanted out of our new kitchen was more than I expected. She didn’t rush, she got to know us, she took the measurements and already had an idea of what she wanted to do before she even left. Throughout the entire project, we didn’t have to wait for any of their guys to come and do the installation. They have an extensive list of people they use for different jobs so when we were ready for someone to come in, they were there. We had bumps in the road as far as the construction and Jamie even helped us through those times. Jamie was also there for the milestones, like when the cabinets came in, so I didn’t have to take off of work to be there. We couldn’t be more pleased with the results of our kitchen! Its exactly what I wanted when I pictured it in my mind at the beginning. Its functional, its beautiful, and the design she created gave us so many more cabinets, I don’t even have enough stuff to fill them!

She went above and beyond with visits, advice and deliveries. I encouraged her to do some of her beautiful white birch paintings as winter scenes...and she did. I have one hanging in my den. In Marquette for a meeting as I was driving out of town, I saw the four letter word that I never pass up, SALE. Circling around the block I found a parking spot and walked in. Greeted by what later turned out to be the proprietor of this establishment I started in search for floor lamps. What I saw in the window was a Hubbardton Forge floor lamp and an interesting Italian floor lamp too complex to describe. After seeing a few throw pillows I needed to round out our living room I was out the door within the hour. This store has an incredible eclectic blend of great brands and reasonable prices all In Marquette, MI. This place would be an incredible store in any big city and a from what I saw and heard she's a great designer as well.
