I just received my new Bennett sectional sofa from Ethan Allen. I couldn't be happier. The sofa arrived exactly on the date promised and the delivery team were very professional. I was very pleased with the help of my designer, Karen Vogt as well. Karen offered very good design advice, making suggestions and helping us visualize the furniture actually in our space...I will definitely return next time I need some new furniture!!

The Ethan Allen mattress is the absolute most uncomfortable mattress I have ever slept on. It costs $3000 and is about as comfortable as a roll up camping pad. I told my saleswoman I was unhappy and she literally shrugged her shoulders and said there was nothing she could do. After that she gave me a number to a call center which had a voice mail message saying they will get back to me in 48 hours. This company has absolutely terrible customer service. I would never buy anything from them again.

My experience with Ethan Allen East Petersburg. I will continue to share my experience as this unfolds. Bottom line, we purchased a sectional that was not factory quality. Those are not my words; but those of the store manager. As a result we have had a technician to our home twice within the first year of ownership to address "squeaky springs". Well the squeak is back. We want the sectional replaced. Ethan Allen wants to repair once again. So we are at an impasse. Now we simply want our money back resolute to never spend another dime at Ethan Allen. By the way we have spent thousands with them over the last few years. I digress, I will share timelines and costs. How a firm responds to an issue is a reflection of how they view customers. Our experience has been bad quality at a high price, poor customer service, total disregard for our user experience, and a take it or leave it attitude. More to follow as I will post our timeline, costs, and communications (both sides). So you can make an informed decision as a consumer. Another week with no action from Ethan Allen. As stated I will share the correspondence this weekend. A friend of mine had the same issue but with a sectional from Pottery Barn. Their response, immediate recovery of the piece with refund. They must value their customers. We have been through two visits with their technicians and now they want us to ship the sectional to their shop for a maintenance overhaul. Or they will do this in the comfort of our home. Funny. Our home is not a repair shop, and we don't want to ship the sectional out for a third round of service. Clearly a problem exists, Ethan Allen acknowledges a problem exists, yet we must be forced into a disruptive situation. Ok next steps, we will post the communications. We will keep you posted as this moves to a civil action. All with the intent to share our experience so you can make an informed decision as a consumer. We certainly have. Wish we made this decision before spending thousands with them. We will share that number as well. Following up to my previous posts. We furnished our last two homes with Ethan Allen. The most recent was our move 1.5 years ago. In that time we spend $32,025.89 - of which $9,087.94 was attributed to the family room including the sectional. If we include expenditures from our prior home we spent well over 60K with Ethan Allen. I share this data because we are not talking about one off purchases. We worked with their design folks and valued the partnership. Now we have a sectional that is not factory quality and after two service calls we receive a take it or leave it proposition Ethan Allen. if they don't value our customer experience i doubt they will value yours. My next series of posts will include their letters and our correspondence. I want you all to know our experience so you can make an informed decision as a consumer.

I've worked with Karen Vogt on multiple occasions and always had a pleasurable, productive experience. Karen listened to my explanations of what I was shopping for and what I was trying to achieve. She used her design expertise to suggest choices and options keeping price point in consideration. Karen looked at photos of my rooms and using the computer placed the "new pieces" in my rooms. Together we made selections. Karen kept me informed of order status, delivery information and followed up after delivery to be sure I was happy with the furniture. Delivery was timely, the furniture selections are perfect and I look forward to shopping with Karen again.

We went to Ethan Allen in Setauket to look at the Miller Dining Table. Karen Vogt helped us. It was not an ordinary purchase because we were having a home built in MA that would not be ready for months. Karen was so kind, she assured us that we could purchase it then ( there was a sale) and she made arrangements for Ethan Allen to store our table until we closed on our home months later. Her attention to details with this order was outstanding! The table was delivered last week and it is beautiful! Delivery was terrific! All these months later, she emailed me to be sure all went well. I can’t thank her enough for knowledge and kindness! Definitely request her if shopping in Ethan Allen...you won’t be disappointed!

I went to Ethan Allen to purchase a new sofa. I was having trouble decorating my living room with a new paint color. Karen Vogt, a professional decorator took the time to visit my home to see what I liked. She took flooring samples, paint samples and photos. When she presented her ideas to me I instantly fell in love with the colors, textures and patterns she had put together. Our living room now blended with the rest of the home and it is stunning. Over the past several months we decided to fully renovate our master bedroom, a guest bedroom, as well as our den. Bonnie was a pleasure to work with and really took the time to get to know our style and taste, which included multiple home visits. In the end, it is hard to believe they are the same spaces. wood pieces (side tables and dressers) are great quality. Furniture orders can be a bit overwhelming with so many decisions in terms of fabric, nail tack color, back attachment, cushion firmness, wood trim color. And the designers are pushing the highest cost fabrics with complete disregard for your personal style. Be sure to check your order before you finalize it. I ended up with a loveseat instead of a sofa and one chair when I ordered two. Waited an extra 10 weeks for them to get it right with zero compensation for the inconvenience.

Elizabeth goes above and beyond, even coming to our home during or after delivery to make certain that everything is exactly the way she expected. This is by far one of the worst companies I have dealt with. The sales rep at the showroom had no information about the couch and we wound up finding the info that we needed online. Purchased a couch in Oct 2018 and was told I would have it by Christmas. Unfortunately they ordered the wrong pieces so we waited until mid Feb for it to arrive. When it finally arrived the pieces were different shades of grey and did not match perfectly after we were assured that they did a die lot match to avoid this. We are still waiting for the replacement couch (which wasn't cheap) and are expected to get the corrected one in mid April....6 months for them to get it right. Hopefully this time they figure it out but either way they have lost me as a customer for life!

I had a horrible experience with this company. The designers design to their own aesthetic( not the customer's). If you sign up with the design service, even though they propose furniture, the designer nor the store is responsible if you don't like the selections. They will charge a 50% restocking fee to return furniture that their team picked, which makes no sense. Do not attempt to get a delivery date out of them. It took 25% of quoted delivery of (8-16 weeks), to get a more accurate estimate. I hope you have better luck. This company really needs new leadership that is customer focused to survive. BTW I spent $10K at this store and this is how I was treated. Imagine if you were paying less.
