I have an extensive collection of art and cultural objects. Barbara helped design spaces where they could be showcased. The apartment was designed "from scratch" -- I brought no furniture to it. Together we worked on concepts that suited my personality and the space. Barbara was amazing in designing the living-dining-work room for all three functions. She knew just the color to paint the walls, what kind of window treatments, how to frame new artwork, and so on. She also worked within my budget so I could get some furniture pieces that are very high-end while choosing other ones that are more mainstream. The combo is perfect. I think everyone should have a designer -- the money I saved by not making mistakes more than paid for her (reasonable) professional fees. I also found Barbara to be super responsive, answering emails, explaining things carefully, and so on. When a few things didn't quite work -- and that is always the case when designing a space -- she was awesome in giving me new alternatives to consider. I appreciated her gentle frankness when I proposed ideas that were, in retrospect, not good. Finally, she shared my joy as the apartment was being created. I could tell that she was thrilled that my dream came true.
