Living Room

Yoko is awesome! She took care of us from start to finish, and completely transformed our living room in a way that we had never imagined. Yoko's magical brain and team worked magic. She was always there for us during the whole process. It was truly amazing and was such a pleasant experience. We highly recommend Yoko and her team to anyone looking for creative, timeless and unconventional interpretations of space, and for great service on time and in budget. Her design is very sophisticated and her team of contractors are highly skilled. We quite literally have people asking for her name every time they come into our home. Thanks Yoko and team!

Yoko is a wonderful interior designer. She remodeled my new place including a living room, family room, 2 bathrooms and kitchen. I particularly like her clean modern style. She designed a custom kitchen with all custom cabinetry and nice leather granite coutertop. She designed a living room with custom furniture including new custom sofa bed, and new built-in units. In the family room, she put in custom light fixtures, recessed lighting, and a custom office desk. Both bathrooms got sleek modern style that fits San Francisco aesthetics. As a frequent traveler to Asia, I fell in love with custom quartz counter and a full-function heated toilet seat. In addition to both bathrooms, she designed and installed 2 custom closet organizer systems in my master bedroom. Our remodeling process was easy. She was very organized and on time and in budget!

Yoko and her team are simply a "must have" when planning for a remodel and redesign project. I had a real challenge on my hands, a 1200 SF townhome in need of full remodeling....kitchen, baths, flooring, millwork, fireplace/bookcase etc. I was overwhelmed and had no idea where to start......and petrified that if I took on the project without help I would spend a lot of money and end up producing a flop (aka wasted money.) Oh, and by the way, I was located 1000 miles away leaving real challenges to work with contractors and material suppliers. Yoko managed the entire project, and was/is simply brilliant.....her design concept, materials choices and finished project produced a home transitioned from a mid-1970's "ho-hum" production home into an absolutely awesome living space featuring functional use of space with a contemporary-yet timeless look. This home has a "wow" factor I never expected to achieve. Everything planned came together.....and seemingly effortless. Thank you Yoko!

We hired Yoko for two projects: 1. Pick colors to repaint the entire inside of our house. 2. Purchase custom window treatments for the family room and kitchen. We were very pleased with the outcome of both projects and got many compliments from our friends on the beautiful looks. Yoko has a great eye and did an outstanding job picking wall colors that would compliment our existing furnishings and accessories. She was very patient and made sure that both, my husband and I, would like the selected color scheme. When it came to selecting the fabric for the second project, the valances for the family room and kitchen, she was extremely helpful with narrowing my many ideas down to the perfect look, offering her own suggestions, but always listening to my wishes. I had a hard time pinpointing what I wanted and kept going back and forth on colors and styles. Again, she was very patient and kept bringing fabric samples until we found the perfect one. The seamstress Yoko uses for sewing and installing did as well an outstanding job. You can tell that Yoko loves her job. I have more projects coming up and I will definitely hire her again.

My husband and I are huge Yoko's fans! She and her team have been instrumental in helping us decorate our whole house. She has an impeccable eye, and yet is also very functional and budget conscious. She does an incredible job combining reasonable basics with meaningful special pieces. Her knowledge of construction, products, space spanning, lighting, and what actually works in spaces is impressive. We have been so grateful for her talent in spatial planning and ability to think outside the box. She has also been able to be a tie breaker when needed between me and my husband because we both trust her implicitly. Our house is full of her modern touches and thoughtfulness, and it is absolutely beautiful, unique and still very "us". My husband and I highly recommend Yoko Oda as an interior designer! Prior to meeting Yoko, we have never used a designer before and we felt our home lacked style and comfortable living spaces. We had plenty of available rooms however we felt that they were not utilized appropriately and lacked joy when we walked into them. We wanted to have lots of usable space. In fact we liked her work so much we called her back to help design our master, daughter's room, office, loft and downstairs bedroom. My husband and I highly recommend Yoko Oda, she's fun, down to earth, open and honest with her suggestions, very accessible and easy to work with! We trust her judgment 100% and we'll use her again in a heartbeat!
