When I bought my 50 year old home, the biggest challenge was dealing with small closets. I hired California Closets after researching other companies. From start to finish, my experience was excellent. I have a double closet in my bedroom that only had one bar going across the entire space- basically useless. The representative came out for a look at the space and from there we explored a variety of options. I was impressed with all the good ideas provided and the options were endless. In the end after thoroughly discussing my needs for the space, we decided on how best to use the space. Measurements were carefully taken and from there, I signed the papers and waited for the installation. After maybe 2-3 weeks, the shelving arrived and the installers were just amazing. They were friendly, and highly efficient. The install went in without a glitch and the end result was exactly as I envisioned- maybe even better. I think California Closets really caters to the customer and keeps its word about time and efficiency. I would use them again without hesitation and while I am a very particular sort of person, I say they are probably the best out there for this sort of service.

The designer was responsive and creative. Installers were top-notch. The entire company also gets high marks for replacing 9 drawers with a larger size, when smaller drawers proved inadequate. The drawers were replaced without argument and at no cost.

Their designer came up with excellent options, and pushed for the most sensible ones, not the most expensive. Installation was trouble-free and well done. Would give these guys -10 stars if we could. They did not listen to what we wanted or asked for in a garage cabinet design. The designer, whose name I would love to use, but will give her her privacy by not naming was absolutely HORRENDOUS!!!! And the cost of these cabinets were out the roof expensive for what they are! Had a great experience with CA cabinet back East, but total opposite experience here. Learned a tough lesson that we have to go down into the garage with the measurements in hand and measure out exactly what is being drawn up. We figured since she was the designer and we told her what we wanted that she drew this in the plans. The drawings were not clear in what length she had drawn. The measurements were there, but confusing, as well. She kept blaming her mistakes on us saying we signed off. Did not realize she had shortened what we wanted by 42" until after they were installed and only went 1/2 way down the garage wall, when 2 of us had stood there saying the cabinets should go all the way down the wall with an area for a desk for a teenager to do art projects. She, also, had initially measured the slope of the garage wrong and the installers come out and can not install it the way it was designed. So, all this space is lost because the cabinets have to be put up as high as possible on the legs to make it look ok. Which is about all it looks, is just ok for around $20,000. She was a nightmare from the beginning and this whole situation with CA cabinets has been a nightmare. Horrible! She will not own up to any of her mistakes at all and now they will not rectify the problem. This designer should be fired! There is another company that charges the same price for much better made garage cabinets, more of them, with excellent design team and great customer service, but did not find out about them until it was too late. They are out of OR and their cabinets are amazing! I would not go near CA Cabinets ever again.

Upfront sales process was quick and informative. The installation was excellent. I would definitely use them again. The only reason why I didn't rate a perfect 5 is that the upfront preparation, i.e. removal of old shelves and baseboards is left to the homeowner. Other than that everything was exceptional.

CUSTOMER LAST! I walked into store today and had a very poor customer experience. Sometimes I think people forget who is serving who. The salesman refused to discuss pricing and insisted I set up an appointment for them to come to my home. Maybe some people want this experience, I do not. Ive already taken my time to come in store to see your product I’d like to understand pricing and options there not at a later date while I try to carve out time to have strangers into my home. In a customer first age I think califonia closets has entirely missed the mark in their business model. Not to mention the salesman was rude and condisending. I wanted to remind him dude you sell beds.
