My mother went to the ER after spending a night in distress because a piece of food was lodged low in her throat. She has COPD and therefore limited breathing. She was summarily dismissed by the attending nurse who told her that she just needed to eat something. After many more hours in distress, she called my me. I suggested her to apply pressure in a Heimlich like maneuver, take a deep breath and cough as hard as possible. Problem solved. The food was dislodged. Can't medical professional do better at PCMH?

I had my child here. First time being a mom. Some of the nurses were very rude. While my stay in the hospital here after giving birth, the way one of the nurses handled my child was very, very, VERY upsetting. She was very rude with him and handled him like he was a rag doll. I don’t care how long you’ve worked here. I don’t care if you were in the military. Let’s just say I was not impressed at all. They forced me to breastfeed when my son wasn't eating at all. I kept telling the nurses that he wasn’t eating and he wasn’t latching at all. But because their opinion was that it was healthy for the baby, they wouldn’t let me bottle feed. Dr. Johnson finally saw at a check up how hungry he was and how stressed I was. She’s a very good doctor. I think you guys need to retrain or pay more attention to the nurses. Especially the OB nurses. The ones at night, too. I get they’re tired, but they’re handling babies. Next time this ever happens, I will push legal action.

Absolutely horrible hospital. My mother has been in and out of this hospital multiple times over the course of the last year or so, with a mental health crisis. Instead of calling in the professionals needed to accurately, efficiently and EFFECTIVELY handle the situation, they stabilize her and kick her out. My mother WANTS to go to the State Hospital in Evanston for treatment, and yet this facility refuses to help. (They told me she continuously refused mental health treatment. WRONG) We are now having to fight, to get my mother the help she desperately needs, because this hospital refuses to assist. All they had to do was call in the local mental health professional (They don't have one on staff, are you kidding me?) Evaluate my mother, and make the referral. Apparently that was too much work. Get it together Banner Health/Platte County Memorial.

Good small town hospital, and with an ER.

While traveling through Wheatland on I-90 my husband became ill and received care at Platte County's ED. Dr. Peasley's assessment and treatment was above and beyond any expectation one might have of any facility, let alone a smaller critical access hospital. The woman in the billing department was one of the most pleasant people I've ever had the honor of speaking to over the phone. She was kind, efficient, and eager to assist us. The pharmacist, Lyndie Gore, also deserves a major shout out. She was knowledgeable and went out of her way to make sure my husband had the best care possible until I could get to Wheatland from about 3 hours away. Thanks Platte County for the phenominal care!

I got hurt hunting. I went to Wheatland Hospital for treatment. We were warmly geeeted by Kelley who took us back to the treatment room. Cherie the RN Took my history and Jill took my vitals. Dr. Strang the visiting doctor assessed my injury. I had to have xrays to rule out a broken nose. Then we had the option to glue or stitch the gash on my nose. We opted for stitches as icing for the next 24 hours would losen up the glue. I was sent home with instructions and antibiotics and latex gloves to ice my nose for the next 24 hours to enhance healing. Today, the day after the hospital visit, Sheree called to see how I was doing. That meant so much. No wonder they are a 4 star hospital. Great job to all.
