Children's is only place I'll take my daughter. She has a GI specialist and Dermatologist there both are just amazing.

My son was taken to their ER at 4:00 in the afternoon and I was told his case was not considered an emergency because “they didn’t want to pay their staff overtime “ and was admitted overnight instead- and I was left with a huge bill! They charged a Level 4 ER visit yet refuse to explain it with medical records indicating he was stable. Less than 24 hours in observation resulted in charges of over $13,000! On a subsequent visit, they refused to bill my insurance company and left me with the bill instead! This “NON-PROFIT Children’s Hospital”is filled with liars and thieves who result to suing patients/families if you can’t pay the bill in two months. They sent the bills to Collections through State Collection Services Inc who failed to document my payments, which I have records of. The case was transferred to Bruck Law Offices who also kept poor accounting records and is now suing me over a $600 balance- despite the fact that I had nearly $3,000 in out of pocket costs. I am now having to countersue for the extreme delay in care that racked up unnecessary charges. I’d highly recommend staying away from this hospital. It’s clear from their empty beds that they look for ways to up charge patients/families and make you responsible for excessive medical bills. They would rather pass on costs to consumers than treat medical issues at the time they present. I’ve been in contact with several media outlets and encourage others to speak up about this. I look forward to the response from their Patient Relations department here- just be warned of the fabricated lies they make up about payment plans (which I was on) and how they claimed to have followed up. I don’t know how these people sleep at night and I wouldn’t trust these people to care for children! We’ve transferred care back to Aurora- they’re much, much better!!

Everyone that works at The Childrens Hospital are amazing with the amount of effort they put into makeing sure that we (the parents) are getting any questions we might have answered and they call with updates about our daughter even if its just something as simple as how much she like her butt to be patted. The nurses that are in charge of watching are little bundles of love go above and beyond to ensure that are little girls is getting the things she needs and the simple but most important stuff which is love and attention or just a soft fluffy blanket. Another amazing example is they noticed how much music calms and sooths her, they put music on their computer so she can hear it when ever she want for as long as she want. As parents that end up with a child in the hospital you know how scary and stressful life can be but knowing how well and how far they go to make sure our baby girl is being loved and comfortable and happy, really really makes this whole situation not so scary and stressful after all. I can write a book on all the amazing things and how greatful we are for what The Childrens Hospital has and is doing for my family and I but they dont need a book to back up the great work they do. If there were more stars to rate I would.....there are not enough thank yous to justify how grateful we are and how many times I would recommend The Childrens Hospital to other families. THANK YOU FOR SAVING MY DAUGHTER

They CONSTANTLY send bills to the wrong addresses and then send them to collections when they aren't paid. I haven't lived at my previous address in over four years, my daughter gets all of her primary doctor bills sent to our current address. However, here were are at collections for a bill that never was sent to our house. When I called, the woman told me she saw that they were ALL sent to the old address, however they can't do anything about that. Basically too bad and they don't care if they negatively affect your credit report/score. Why is this the only hospital I've ever had issues not getting my bills but being sent to collections over??? GET IT TOGETHER!

Childrens has been there time and time again for our young son in times of emergency. The nurses and doctors went above and beyond to look after our son and ensure we were comfortable in trying times. I can't speak highly enough to their professionalism, capabilities, and compassion. Yes, parking can be a challenge but you can't beat their expertise in child care. I feel unbelievably fortunate to have such a wonderful, expert organization in our community.

First I would like to start off by saying that the doctors and nurses on the MACC unit are absolutely amazing. I have no other words to describe their sincere care and the above and beyond work they provide for my nephew. Three people have really stuck out to me of being amazing, Suzie(Nurse), Stephanie(Nurse) and Dr. Knipstein. Unfortunately we have also experienced some not so caring nurses when your child is admitted to the 5th floor. There is definitely a lot of communication between nurses as well as care partners. I am my nephew's full-time caregiver so when he needs to go to the hospital either for checkups or admission, I am the one who brings him as well as stays with him. Our last stay there was a 4-day stay, and after the second day I had to ask for the room to be cleaned and his bedding to be changed. I also like to take my nephew for walks and some nurses will unhook him from his feed to be able to go for a longer walk while other nurses forbid it. Just really wish they would get on the same page. The nurses or even confused on when my nephew had his medication. At one point, I had to stop one of the nurses from giving him a second dose of a medication. I was told that there was no documentation showing the medication was already given. She did finally figure it out. Another instance was I wanted to give my nephew a bath and I had asked for a care partner to come in and help me for a moment as well as bring me some towels for him. Well it took over an hour to get towels and was told from a nurse that she can't help me, only a care partner could. I asked if a care partner could come in and help me then and of course no one came in. I did the bathing myself which is usually no big deal but he was hooked up too many different machines, I was concerned with what would happen if any of them got wet. After I had my nephew all nice and clean and I changed his bedding myself he laid down for a nap. I went to the nurses station and noticed at least 8 to 10 people standing or sitting talking about their weekend as well as what they were going to order for dinner. I was livid. I do understand they at nurses are overworked and work very long days but if I specifically asked for help that literally would have taken them 3 minutes, I really would have expected them to help out. The medical care from the doctors was absolutely amazing. How the nurses treat the patients as well as their parent or caregiver is absolutely unacceptable. We have been admitted to the hospital close to one dozen times on the same floor and out of all of the nurses there are only three that actually treat the patient as well as their family with the utmost respect and care. I'm thinking maybe you guys need to reconsider training some bedside manner as well as communication skills. No I am not going to file a complaint as you say in several of the reviews (which shows the priority of your hospital, having a form letter), my feelings are that you should be following up with each of these reviews. Since I do not have the time to go to your complaint department I am just going to leave this review. One last suggestion: at least provide the parent or caregiver with one free basic meal per day. It is very expensive to eat in the cafeteria, (not the greatest food for what you pay for) and most families who have an ill child do not have a ton of money to be spending at least $10 a meal every day for a basic sandwich, fry and fountain drink. Again I am thankful for the wonderful doctors that my nephew does he have and the very few nurses that do treat my nephew and I with care and compassion and everyone on the MACC unit. I have very mixed feelings on your hospital.

TBH they don't even deserve a star....We sat in there all night with my 2 year old daughter...For 4 hours to be exact just to get some ibuprofen....They didn't even check for the flu or nothing else they didn't take blood nor did they swab her nose to check for the flu or anything else they just told me well maybe she just got a little virus that all kids have...Like how would you even know that if you never even checked for anything....My baby have been vomiting, running a fever of 103.8, and her nose have be running...As I type this right now my baby have a fever and her heart it racing just like it was last night while we was at the hospital but they sent us home...Last Year when we was living in Tennessee my other child was running a fever of 102 and I took her to the doctor....They sent me to Le Bonheur children's hospital the best hospital ever because they really show you that their concerned about your child...They said that a fever like that is dangerous in kids and they take it very serious...They gave my baby a spinal tap just to test her spinal fluids and they took some blood and found ecoli...That was causing her to have a high fever and that was something serious....Memphis, Tennessee has the best doctors and not to mention at least 10 doctors came in the room for my baby...Up here at Wisconsin children's hospital they do not care...Anything could be wrong with my baby because no matter how I give her medicine this fever will not go away and her fever was not even gone when they sent us home last night...So I do not recommend anyone taking there kids to Wisconsin Children's Hospital....If you want your child to survive you might want to take them somewhere else....

All the doctors are amazing. I have had so much trouble with the billing department. The doctors recommended whole genome sequence testing. They were seeing if my insurance would cover it, a month later I had to call and they told me my insurance doesn't cover it. After calling the insurance they said all they did was call and ask but they could of submitted a appeal. My daughter wasn't important enough for them to at least try to appeal it. After going to the doctor to force them to appeal a week later it was appproved. Then I got a 1000 bill for a procedure that they did that my insurance didn't cover. I was shocked because I have an enhanced PPO and have had no problems. After doing a little digging my insurance company told me that the codes were wrong. She got a swallow study test and they put that her diagnosis was a blood disorder. Clearly I didn't get the test for that it was because my daughter was having trouble swallowing it. Every time I called the billing to review it or appeal it they were so rude. One told me they did appeal it twice, but I never got a denial letter. Then they said they reviewed it and the codes were right. They talked to me like I was stupid. What does a swallow study have to do with a platelet disorder. Then I conference called them with the insurance and it was a different story. How often does your insurance company try to help you so I don't have to pay out of pocket and the hospital does nothing. My daughter has so many issues and we have so many medical bills. This has been such a financial burden and everybody has worked with me but this hospital. Please people check your bills because there are many mistakes. They don't know how to bill the insurance and put no effort into it. After I get the whole genome testing back I will have nothing to do with this hospital. It's disgusting how I've been treated by the billing department.

I knew that if I decided to have children, there would be a 50% chance they would end up with the same genetic seizure disorder I had as a baby and young child. Lucky I have grown out of it. For this reason, I decided to go through froedtert to have my daughter because I would deliver at children's hospital and when I was a baby with this condition that presented when I was only a day old, my parents chose children's hospital to care for me. Sure enough, my sweet girl was born with the genetic disorder. Like me, she had her first seizure when she was a day old. She spent a week in the NICU while the doctors got her managed on her meds and made sure they checked her from head to toe. Being a first time mom and of course having just given birth, I was a complete hot mess. Even though I know she could have this, it was extremely hard to see my sweet baby having health problems. The staff at children's hospital and even the staff in the mom and baby unit were amazing to my fiance, my family and I through every step. Her dad and I were able to stay one extra night in the mom and baby unit even after I was medically discharged to stay close. The nurses and doctors in the NICU were amazing! They not only took care of my daughter, the nurses were really there for me too. They were extremely supportive to my family and I. I know my daughter wasn't as sick as so many other children there but we were given an exceptional level of care. She also had to be admitted two more times after that before she was even a month old. Once for breakthrough seizures and once for a nasty respiratory virus that was going around. Again, we got exceptional care both of those times! Our little girl is now a healthy and happy 20 month old. Her seizure disorder is under control and has been since she was a couple of months old. She also sees her neurologist at children's.

My 4 year old son was mauled by a pit bull receiving life changing injuries, Dr Flanary came back in after shift and spent 2 1/2 hours in surgery saving my 4 year olds face ! She is a parent and treats all kids like her own ! She’s a gifted practitioner and my son will never forget her ! She did her job and he now has other plastic surgery to face but the dedication of Dr Flanary and her staff saved my son !

When visiting a doctor because my four year old daughter got a bead stuck up her nose, both the nurse and the doctor were sure to take this opportunity to ensure she was doing well overall. I explained that she has had some major bloody noses. After a quick discussion they sent us to immediately get a blood test. It turns out that our daughter has a blood disorder that prevents clotting. We are soooo thankful that the staff looked beyond the immediate concern. This knowledge will help to ensure that future issues are handled safely and properly. This knowledge can save our daughters life if she has a bad injury. A big hug and high-five to the staff!

Poor service, food was terrible, nurses and doctors are very mean and take way to long to get to your room. The only good thing was the smoothie and had.

Kristina K.

I do believe CHW provides excellent care. However, the bill for my daughter's recent lab draws was over $4,000. Adjusted by my insurance to $2,200 (my responsibility). The labs tests costs were inflated and I think this is partially what is wrong with our health care system. I will only use CHW for highly specialized care if needed but for routine health care, I will no longer be using this facility.

CAUTION - ask ahead of your visit if they will bill as a "consult" or an "office visit." Insurance coverage is less on a consult and ultimately your bill will be tremendously higher if the specialty group charges as a consult. Good doctors but we have had a poor experience in billing practices.

In 2014 my husband and little sister at the time was 11 and my 1 month old daughter were in a car accident, we were hit by someone that was driving under influence of alcohol. He pushed us out into the ditch and we rolled 2 time and landed sideways on the opposite side of the highway. We were all ok but my baby had to be transferred to children’s hospital to check her and they were all amazing!!! They gave us a car seat to take home since we couldn’t use the one from the accident ( the lady that gave us the car seat seem a little rude but other than her everyone else were AMAZING). Now my daughter is 4 years old and we are still thankful to children’s hospital for the help!!’

When your kid has an illness bad enough to send them to Children's and you use the valet so you don't have to fuss with parking, it makes the whole medical process that much harder when the valet employee is condescending and rude. After two hospitalizations and several appointments at this hospital, having used the valet each time with great appreciation for the staff and their wonderful customer service oriented attitudes, it was shocking to be treated as rudely as I was today.

We are truly lucky to have a such a great hospital like this in our city. The team of doctors and medical professionals are not only top notch but the way they work with children is amazing.

Usually a pleasant experience but my son just saw Dr. Megan Schultz over at their Wauwatosa ER and im just in such disbelief with this provider. Arrogant personality, restrained my son in such a way it would make any parents uncomfortable, had a diagnosis before even doing a full assessment. Dr. Schultz should really revise what patient centered care means and apply it to her daily workflow.

They confused my toddler being constipated and withholding stool as epileptic seizures. The initial MRI that would’ve told them that kept getting pushed back day after day. We spent 3 days in the hospital for something that should’ve been outpatient care. No one would listen to us when we suggested that. Not to mention the waiting room time to get him seen was 3.5 hours. Can’t wait for the bill for this one. This place is a joke.

Please beware that the payment structure that Children's offers has changed recently (at least as of June, 2018). The lowest payment that can be made per month toward a balance on a payment plan has increased significantly. ALSO, they will now demand that monthly payments increase with ANY new balances. So, if I owe $1,000 and make monthly payments down to $200 but I get a new bill of say, $200, my monthly payment will now be MORE than it was when my balance was $1,000. In general, we have had good experiences with most of the doctors and are thankful for them and their services.

I would like to say a BIG- THANK YOU to Dr. Drayna, RN-Edward and staff for the most compassionate, professional care that was given to my son on Thursday evening 11/06- with a severe injured left arm.. the Dr's & staff were Amazing! With their calmness, knowledge & compassion, it made me as a mother feel stronger emotionally as well, especially when you see your child hurt. My son loved them! THANK YOU & keep up the GREAT Work!!

This place is horrible. You'd think that since they deal with children they'd have compassion. My baby arrived by ambulance yesterday. I had no idea what was wrong with my baby. The ambulance called it in as a seizure and even the 1st person who came in told us. They had it written on the board too. We'll this one nurse or whatever she was told me it sounds nothing like a seizure. The second one who came in said it sounds like one. as we were being discharged the nurse who said it wasn't was the one who came to talk to us. She tells me well she looks fine and babies have moments. Are you kidding me what moments do babies have that get to the point that you think you're baby is dying in your arms. She made me feel stupid for bringing my baby in. And no tests no nothing was done for us. Just because she looked normal when we got there. But she wasn't a mother knows when her child is not right. You guys need to learn to treat people with more sypathany. When a child comes in you should know there parents are worked up too. Telling parents there's nothing wrong with ur child just cuz she looks fine she was not fine.

6 months after my son ER visit, I was called by a collecting agency that was collecting a part of the bills that was not paid. Here is the funny part, the collection agency refused to tell me what is the bills for because of HIPPA privacy regulations and the hospital refused to give me any details because they sent everything to the collection agency. I was mad because I have not received any bills that I ignored paying. I found out that they made an error with my address by changing my address to Milwaukee instead of Brookfield. The more annoying part is I have received several bills for that same visit and all came to my right address. How come this one did not make it!!! This physicians and nurses are great but the supporting staff are totally inadequate. I will definitely take my service somewhere else.

Ted Augustine

ok, i understand the construction but i stood in the ER line for 20 minutes before anyone even asked me why my child was there, the nurse taking vitals was overly rude, no one was around to answer any questions, i actually called the hospital while standing in ER entry way to get help.......wait! thats not all, rhen i get my bill, apparently its really difficult to process a claim via insurance and i ended up submitting the claim to my insurance, thats right im doing their job for them......worst place ever! I will NEVER EVER EVER EVER recommend this place, its a money pit, no wonder they can afford to continuously add on, they put patients in debt because their staff cant do their job........too bad its the only childrens place to go......shame on your billing department and shame on your intake nurses, if they are even nurses...... update, they send you bills for thousands of dollars and dont even give you time to pay......Ill never use this so called "best hosptial in yhe midwest" ever again....they are good, good at nickel and diming you into poverty. BE VERY CAREFUL, they will run unnecessary test, test that cost the parents thousands of dollars without even asking

WHAT EVERY PARENT NEEDS TO KNOW ABOUT THIS HOSPITAL: I've been here as an impatient since July (take away about a month's worth of outpatient stay) and this is what I've seen. Many of these nurses are careless and unsanitary. Don't leave your children alone for any long periods of time and expect even decent care out of some of them. I've seen nurses with unnecessary roughness, inspecting bm diapers on my son's food tray table, and leaving him in wet diapers and clothes in the middle of the night. Some don't follow important instructions. Doctors aren't great either, but the nurses need some fixing and retraining. Some have horrible attitudes. There's racial tension. If you're not watching them or don't know any better, they will try to get away with stuff that will disturb you as a clean parent. Sometimes you have nurses snooping in your drawers and being condescending. There are still some amazing nurses and staff. They just get overshadowed by everything else unfortunately. Back to the doctors; I've had several doctors be condescending with me as well. They lie- most of the time. They switched the Tylenol to some cheap generic stuff that my son can't tolerate, but lied and told me that it is real Tylenol and that Children's Tylenol (not the infant solution) has been recalled and replaced with a new solution- theirs, which is an absolute lie. They cover up things. They just overdosed my son on one of the most heavy duty antibiotics there is. And don't get me started on the non-medical staff... Food service sometimes takes hours to send up food cooked to an edible level and will argue with you to "just put it in the microwave," but oddly enough, if you pay for the food it comes up quick and hot. Then one of the housecleaning staff stole my iPhone 4 (with hundreds of pictures and videos of my son) knowing the room they clean is where they keep kids with cancer. Yes, my son has Leukemia. And God forbid, if he ever relapses, I'm moving out of the state and taking him to St. Jude. I can't deal with this hospital anymore as an inpatient. Thank God I only have three more weeks to go!

Children's Hospital of Wisconsin is the go to place for the best children care. My oldest had two bladder surgeries there and is now a healthy 13 year old. My youngest has been ill for the better part of this year and we were lucky enough to find surgeon Dr. Densmore who ran the proper tests and discovered my daughter's gall bladder was not functioning. She had it removed in July and is doing very well. The staff is professional. The nurses are the best around and very knowledgeable and helpful. The only complaint I have is the pull out bed is horribly uncomfortable but I was thankful I could stay in the room with my daughter. It made her feel better and put my mind at ease.

My daughters’ care providers were nothing short of amazing. I was honestly impressed with this visit. It was just all the little things from explaining to her about how quick they can swab her throat and offering her a popsicle afterwards. Seriously watch the nursing and anesthesia staff, communication seems very poor between the two, our son was could have overdosed after the nurse had given him medicine before his procedure and then the anesthesia staff tried to give him the same medicine AGAIN before the procedure! When my husband and I commented to stop the anesthesiologist he had no idea my son was already given "relaxing medicine". The RN told us our son would have JUST been more sleepy and harder to wake up after the surgery...seriously? We will take our children elsewhere in the future..head west to Madison, American Family Children' s Hospital where they double check medical charts before any medicine is administered.

Casey Duffy

I have three childen two boys ages 14 and 9 yrs old and one daughter 12. Both boys have had broken arms and have had ear surgeries. One son had tubes twice and was 80% deaf in his right ear for a year and a half. He also has had his adenoids taken out because he couldn't breath. My younger son has also had multiple medical problems. My daughter has had pneumonia twice. This hospital has been the most caring, polite, effecient and did everything they could do and beyond to make sure my children had the best care they could give. The doctors and staff even made sure me and my husband knew every step of the way what was going on. They didn't hurry us and they answered every question. This is the best hospital in my opinion for children. Even if it's just treat a cold or something more serious. If its busy I will wait because I know they are doing everything they can to make sure things are done correctly and nothing is being missed. I'm a medical professional myself and common sense tells u if your child has a broken bone,or is so sick they are having trouble breathing. Call 911 on the way your child is also being treated on the way. I just wanted to say thank you children's hospital you have been wonderful not just for my children'spositive experience but the positive treatment you gave for my entire family.

Mathew Mayes

This place is a poster child for why capitalism should not be integrated with health care. It is a terrible shame that we have to suffer such indignities as driving around in a parking structure for 30 to 45 minutes to find a place so that we can bring our children to get the health care they need only to be turned away because we're late for an appointment that we have been at for an hour but could not find proper direction in an area with heavy construction. This is absolutely absurd. Now I have lost an appointment to get my son seen about, and missed a day of work for no reason

Saran

Friendly environment. secured area. Well organized and associated with Medical college.

The nurses and doctors are wonderful. The facility is very outdated, and does not cater at all to parents who have to stay long periods of time with their sick children. The fold out couches are non-sleepable, and the cafeteria takes advantage of the fact that you are trapped..

It took an email for pulmonolgy to take my concerns seriously. There is a lack in communication between staff and doctors. My son has CF and doing well however concerns and questions about a vital part of his care was ignored and as of a result his infection increased. I am not yet pleased. It took a lengthy email to get an explanation and apology. And open the doors of communication. Now that iv complained now they are willing to take his health more serious and not underestimate anything. Wow!

Love having Children's Hospital in our backyard, but there is a serious lack of consistency within their billing practice. When you call to make payment arrangements, each representative with whom you speak provides different information than the previous representative. Also, a doctor with whom our family dealt did not listen to the patient's prior disclosure of a reaction to medical procedures, panicked and sent this our daughter to the ER during a "normal" testing procedure, resulting in additional costs to our family. What a horrible learning experience for my now 18 year old daughter who is responsible for a $300 bill for an unnecessary ER visit! She (and we) has learned that you do NOT go to the doctor, for even routine care, unless you are basically on your death bed, as you could end-up incurring substantially more charges than you originally planned.

The Doctors and nurses have saved my daughter's life twice....we are forever thankful for their knowledge and compassion❤

Son got hit in the eye with a nerf bullet. Went to children urgent care. After 1 1/2 hours there, they sent us downtown to children's ER to see an eye specialist. Get down there after sitting for almost 2 hours we see a Nurse who doesnt know anything about why we are there. Doesnt read the report or nothing was ever filled out as to them referring us down there. Son has not eaten anything because they told us not to just in case. Now they call an eye specialist and we wait again. Maybe another hour or two. They need to get their stuff together have better communication and treat clients with more respect.

Dr Laura Marusinec gave my daughter excellent care and helped her feel safe.

It is insane to me that a place who deals with children, therefore mothers and families who are going through a lot, there lack of TRAUMA INFORMED CARE is disgusting, and their respect is disgraceful, I believe if the people who donated to this hospital knew the care the doctors were giving to CHILDREN and their families, they would find someone better to invest in. The commercials and care they PREACH is highly misguided. We have been forced to use this hospital, due to it being one of two in the state that can care for my daughter due to her age and risk. On Friday I was told by the manager in the renal department ‘ I know this sounds bad but kids are sicker than yours and they come first’, among other direct quotes saying how was her doctor when she retired supposed to contact all 100 patients, leaving me again feeling because my daughter is maintaining living on a steroid for life, we shouldn’t try anything new to get her into remission. Also some of her blood work came up missing and again the manager tried a quick fix , and telling me that she already told me what it was , upon looking into it, it’s still just ‘missing’. My daughter is five and has been on a steroid everyday for the last four years, she was supposed to be on it for a month. No one reviewed or attempted any thing else through your four years here. And the requests for other options were left unanswered. I would instead move out of state and find a doctor who doesn’t just see her as another child, and cares. Because this whole disease has affected my daughter physically and emotionally, and they have too many kids on their caseloads to care unless , she is ‘sick enough’ in their eyes. In my eyes her stomach 5 times the size it was when we started, her not being able to walk for long distances due to pain throughout her body and her inability to fit in with kids her age, has led to bullying and self esteem issues in kindergarten! So I understand to them she may not be sick enough, to me , she is. (When she started on the left, and on the right, with her stomach swollen and her back pain increasing)

I took my 8yr old daughter into the ER because she was complaining of nausea and then fainted. ER doc diagnosed as "vasovagal syncope" and said "sometimes these things happen and we don't know why." Sent us home with a zolfran even though my daughter was still complaining of nausea and dizziness. After another 3 days of on and off symptoms, the school nurse decided to look in her ears. AND SHE FOUND A PIECE OF FOAM. I started a complaint with CHW's ER and their review board stated that the examination was "appropriate" even though the doc did not look in my daughter's ears. I would think checking ears would be standard in a child complaining of dizziness but apparently CHW does not believe in a basic exam, even when merited.

Thank you so much .. Better care. I found it there.

Just recently had an overnight visit at Children’s Hospital for my 12 year old. He was placed on the 4th floor room #439, and a Care Partner had to sit in the room with him the entire stay. Each one of the Care Partners were fantastic. Caring, understanding, compassionate, easy to talk to and very social. My son felt extremely comfortable, safe, which made this experience end with a positive outcome. He wanted to request to have one of the Care Takers be with him 24 hours at home lol. Overall I cannot express how much gratitude I have for the staff and the nurses. He felt safe and that was the most important.

Great hospital. My son was born premature. Children’s hospital saved his life. He spent 5months at children’s they treated him as if he was their own child. Great doctors awesome nurses..thanks Children’s hospital.

Seriously not happy with this place right now. We keep having to come back every week for my daughters broken wrist. Which really isn't the issue. We live 40 minutes away and last week I called to cancel my daughters appointment for this a.m. and get it switched to today in the p.m. Someone from ortho called me back promptly and rescheduled the apt for this afternoon. We get here and her apt. Isn't on their schedule! I showed the lady at the desk my phone with the incoming call from THEIR office last week to reschedule. So she says after going in the back they can see her but "it might be a while". Are you kidding me?! It's YOUR mistake! So here we are still waiting an hour later. Dreading coming back here for future visits. How extremely unprofessional..... UPDATE: 5 STARS FOR HAVING REP. CALL ME PERSONALLY TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT. CUSTOMER/PATIENT SERVICE IS EVERYTHING. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SINCERE EFFORT TO CORRECT THINGS.

Elena Padron

These stars are for the nurses on floor C4 -4th level. They were amazing with my son. To all the different nurse's and caretakers we really appreciate you. My son was sent home earlier today and he said all the nurses were really nice and patient with him. Again you probably don't hear it often but amazing job guys and gals. You're greatly appreciated!

Anthony Lalumia

This place doesn’t have a family waiting room. If your here after 8 they won’t let you wait in the hospital. You have to leave. Being out of state, I didn’t have anywhere to go. I guess I’ll sleep in the parking garage until the morning. Thanks, Appreciate it!

Denise

I took my teenage son to the emergency on Thursday because of a fever of 103.7. The wait was not very long at all. A physican's assistant first examined him. She asked had any kids in his school been recently sick, he told her that one of his friends had been diagnoised with strep. To make a long story short, it was decided based on his only symptom(fever) that he had influenza, the doctor tested him for influenza, but there were unable to render the results until the next day. So we were provided a prescription for Tamaflu, and they would call me the next day with the results....Well I filled the prescription for $108, and the hospital never called. So I called 2 days later to find out that my son tested negative for influenza. So now I am out of 108 bucks for a prescription he didnt need, for a diagnosis he didn't have..And he still has a tempature except now with a sore throat...I am no doctor but, my guess is he probably has strep. So now I will have to pay for another hospital visit just to get a prescription for the antibiotics he will need, all when he could have just been tested for strep at the intial visit..

I wish that I could give them less than zero stars here, these people are nothing but greedy bastards who are a nightmare to deal with, send inflated bills to collection, but never send to the patients. We have a PSA that would pay the bill, but they refuse to send us a detailed bill, perhaps they dont wont the scrutiny of our provider?? So now we have them taking us to court yet they still refuse to send us a detailed bill, what are they afraid of? Well today is the start of my social media campaign against these greedy thieves.

The dental clinic telephone rep was very rude and unhelpful.

we have been to this hospital for operation's on my grandson's heart 3 times before he was 6 mos old, and the 4th this past may, all have been open heart operation's lasting hours on the heart lung machine ! and he could not have had better care! all involved were kind, and took care of him like he was there own ! if we had question's they were addressed right away ! we went there knowing we were in the right place! doc's and nurses were all 1st class ! and in the future we will gladly place our lit man in there care if the need arises ! we drive 350 miles to get the best care around. some may be closer but none are better ! being at his side 24/7 we know he was not only safe but the staff was sanitary with each trip to his bedside !!! the herma heart center is in house and also and A+ addition ! THANK YOU so much for all your care and love given to our child !!

Don’t get some of the negatively in some of these reviews? My daughter had emergency heart surgery when she was 4 days old. We just got home (Green Bay) following another serious heart surgery 26 years later and cannot express our thanks to ALL the professionals who took care of her. They made her/us feel as we were their first priority. Their compassion and level of care is unmatched. To our family, there is no other choice! Thank you Children’s Hospital!

The food could be better (and lets face it, no hospital is a fancy restaurant) but the care that they have given is good.

Every employee, from doctors, nurses, even facilities, is very compassionate and thoughtful. Lucky to have this hospital in Milwaukee!

I am shocked to read the rude reviews posted by others. Without CHW, I wouldn't have the HEALTHY, smart and happy-go-lucky toddler I do today!! Two and a half years ago my son was transferred to CHW NICU just a few hours after being delievered by a crash C-section. He was distressed through his birth and not breathing when they pulled him out. I was separated from him for 3 days, they were the worst days of my life but I knew my son was in AMAZING hands at the NICU. They kept in constand contact with me, even the tiniest updates they called me about. When I could finally be with him, everytime I walked into his pod he was being snuggled and loved by the wonderful nurses. They were nothing but loving, caring and helpful. He was discharged at 7 days old, a week later he was readmitted to Center 7 for what we later found out to be a brain bleed. Yes, it was horrible to watch him be poked, proded and wait hours on end for test but I knew they were doing EVERYTHING possible for my son. He now goes to the Special needs clinic every 6 months for Neonatal followups, again the staff there is amazing as well. A few months ago we took him to CHW Urgent care....another wonderful experience given the situation. Our interactions were with the NICU, Emergency room, Center 7, Radiology, Urgent Care and Special Needs clinic....I can say with all my heart that CHW is beyond AMAZING and will always, always, always hold a special place in my family's heart.

Ya girl waited 9 hours in this hospital just for her cousin to get his broken wrist treated. That’s just the waiting time . The treatment time is beyond imagination . Great hospital knows how to eat up all the money from their patients . Wonderful . Just wonderful . I’d hope for a change . But I highly doubt it. Now somebody from the hospital will respond to this with the same COPY & PASTE “I am so sorry for the ....” NO, NO THANK YOU . I don’t have the time and money to argue back . Just improve and do better next time .

I love the clinics building! My daughter see's Dr. Zvara in the special needs clinic and Dr. Escott in orthopedics. My younger son see's Dr. Monduck in Neuro, however the genetics clinic think they are top of the food chain, the counselors are a hit or miss but the doctors are not the greatest. The only good doctor is Dr Basel..I recently stayed in the hospital for the first time with my older son on the GI floor, I was very disappointed. His doctor was good. There was a medical student there named Matt who really connected with my son. The nurse, Sarah who we had when we checked in our room and got us settled in was good and Keely was helpful but otherwise wasn't happy.

(Translated by Google) It's been 9 days since my daughter has a fever. The first time I brought her to the emergency room ... it did not take an hour and I was discharged because it was a supposed virus. 3 days passed and I bring it back because it continues with a lot of fever, dizziness and nausea .. they tell me again that it is a virus. Almost sent home ... my daughter's fever comes back up a lot .. they decide to do urine tests. They say it's an infection ... sending it to my home with an antibiotic, they spend 3 more days taking antibiotics and my daughter comes back with a lot of fever ... they tell me that the antibiotic they gave her is not the right one ... they sent her home with another antibiotic and they give me a paper that says if in 24 hours my daughter returns to have a fever that brings her again .. in 24 hours my daughter continues with a fever .... she phoned and I explain they tell me to bring her ... when they arrive, they tell me that they can not do anything because they are already taking antibiotics ... it's frustrating my daughter almost does not eat. He keeps lying down because he is very weak and they can not do anything ... what a disappointment

Took 4 hours to discharge my grandson my time is precious as well as the staff. But they should of never said a set time then end up waiting for hours and hours after that. I know my grandson was not the only patient there that day but 4 hours come one really!!! Would take him else where from now on!

Sleepy Mane

Children hospital can fool you. They will try to take your child if your kid has and rare disease and they can't run tests on them like a Ginny pig. They actually has social workers that will take you to court.

I would encourage every person to read thru the most recent reviews of this hospitol. Not only here, but on other websites as well. There seems to be some definite issues that need to be addressed - parking is horrendous, billing mistakes, and careless doctors/nurses. Terrible combination!! I'm extremely disappointed in Katie Ricciardi and her staff (neuro department). Not only did they overdose my son on medication but they were extremely difficult to communicate with in order to fix the issues we were having. I left several sobbing messages and the nurse told me sometimes it could take a day or two to return the call. Not a good response time when you're dealing with patients with neurological issues.

If you have African American children then I suggest finding another hospital as just remember that this hospital employed a doctor who asked a black person if they “want to get lynched”.

Was told it was medically necessary for my child to have an MRI. Scheduled one MRI; he spent one hour in the machine. Guess what the bill was? 11,200.00. I thought this had to be a mistake. How could this possibly be an accurate cost for one MRI? When I called to resolve the error, I was told that I was actually being charged for 3 MRIs, and that there was nothing that could be done to lower the bill. Total scam! The independent MRI clinic down the street would have done it for 675.00. How does Children’s Hospital justify such a gross disparity? No one knows. And they don’t care, either. This is a perfect example of what is broken with our health”care” system. Screw people when they are at their most vulnerable. That should be their website tag line.
