I am sooo tired of the run around I've had to put up with since I came home from the Nam. A brother told me about Clarks burg and I'm going there today. It's a shame. VA hospitals like Chillicothe oh. should be bulldozed down. They spend hundreds of thousands of dollars fixing up the outside and the looks but in reality it is the same as putting lipstick on a PIG. I feel all veterans should march on Washington if for nothing else than to awaken the public to tell everyone how US is wasting their money. I been told, and I pray it's true, that Clarksburg, treats us like human beings who will listen to us and help us get on with living instead of feeding us with a dozen different pills that only makes us worse.

With the exception of one PA in Parkersburg, WV and one doctor at Clarksburg VA hospital, care has been great. I was able to get both the people mentioned removed from being my PCPs. The VA hospital at Clarksburg, WV has been great. I really can't imagine better care, anywhere.

Had a outpatient procedure with Dr Patterson and was very happy with his and all all the other members of his team. Everyone was very caring professional, and made me feel I was in good hands. I can't think of anything that could have improved upon the care I got.

I was at this VA and talked to a couple veterans who said after the crack down on pain meds they had to start drinking hard liquor to deal with pain. I asked the veteran if he told his doctor and he said he told his doctor and that his doctor said “okay good”. The guy functioned fine for 10 years taking pain meds now he is a wasted drunk. Not exaggerating. I was there and talked to him.

Disgusting. Filthy. Rude. Obnoxious. I wouldn't think of using this place as a medical facility. This place isn't fit to treat criminals let alone our veterans. I am horrified to think that these doctors believe that they are competent enough to treat people. This isn't a Veterinary clinic.

After a move to Texas this was a terrific VA. I have so much of a hard time getting meds in the Texas VA . I know why people with medicare go to Drs that aren't in the VA. Take a lesson Texas from VAs in Clarksburg, WV and Pittsburgh, PA.

This is a horrible VA! I wouldn't take my dog to this VA let alone a Veteran that has served America! The employees are horribly rude act as if never wanted to be here! The woman at the front desk would not allow a veteran that had an amputation to use a power scooter! This place is dirty it needs knocked down and rebuilt! If I could I would give this place 0 stars! Our veterans deserve better than this!

For nearly fifty years Clarksburg VA has been there for me through some trying times. While I have heard complaints, most come from folks not willing to change habits to benefit their own health. My personal experience has been positive from day one. My present primary care doctor (ten years or so as of 2016) is the best doctor I ever had. Only two doctors were unacceptable in all these years, and they were quickly replaced with no hesitation by the VA. Having traveled the US, there is no question in my mind that the Clarksburg VA facility is a first class medical facility.

It is no doubt that our country faces such high percentage of PTSD vets suicide victims with facilities such as this one. My brother went to the ER because his psychologists told him he needed to be admitted into the psych ward. After more than 5 hours waiting he walked out more depressed and frustrated than before. The staff were unbothered by his request to be attended, rude, and uncaring. I called the ER to try to get someone to provide him assistance but the girl on the other line didn't seem to know another phrase other than, "I don't know". This place is a joke! We will transfer him to a facility where he can receive the help he desperately needs. Our military men & women are not just your test subjects, or your bill payers! Shame on you!

They ain't got no soap... but on a serious note they had a nurse MURDER a good number of patients by giving them insulin when they shouldn't have. It was investigated by the feds and they couldn't prove she did it, so she got a promotion to a desk job and a pay raise. Whole thing was hidden from the public and covered up, those poor family's! SERIAL KILLER AT YOUR VA, GOVERNMENT SHOULDN'T HIDE THINGS LIKE THIS FROM PEOPLE LET ALONE VETERAN.

2 stars is being nice. My dad has been here for ages and once his dr. Left for another position elsewhere his care went down hill as far as treatment in this facility. For ages he didn't have a set dr. And if he did he said he always just sees a nurse practitioner if they actually keep an appointment. They had him on medications he was taken off of by nurse practitioners after it was given an ok by a dr that didn't see him but just looked at a paper. He suffers PTSD constant nightmares that wake him in tears and hasn't seen his psychiatrists in over a year bc apt. Are scheduled and then canceled by the va with voice automated rescheduled as well as reg drs.apt. I've called in Thursday before last to get his prescriptions refilled bp medication etc diabetic test strips and only told we will call you back still no call so I'll be making a trip tomorrow for answers. It's infuriating really. And when he went outside of the va for treatment taking on costs he can't afford bc he didn't want to go back to a place that didn't give him the care he needs he had a lady pretty much yell at him and tell him he's not allowed! What happened to choices? I could go on but this is turning into a jumbled mess.

I have been to several VA facilities in several states and this one is not the most updated facility but it is probably one of the most efficiently run that I've been to. Appointments are quick and knowledgeable and the doctors actually check you out. If you have problems here then you probably have problems everywhere!

I have attended the hospital since 2010, all around glad to have the VA. They are prompt on every check in process. Only complaint, they will some times write the wrong prescription for me even though i get the same meds every month for 7 yrs they will still write the wrong strength or even wrong med at times. ALWAYS check your script when you pick up or as they mail out.

Despite the fact that noone is ever 100% happy with the medical treatment or hospitals being fair for a goverment based system this hospital does its best to provide the best care and treatment availble. I have no complaints and if used the support programs offered thru this facility are tremendously effective.

Very difficult to get in touch with certain departments. I have called and only reached answering services. When I leave a message with my number, I do not receive a call back. Very frustrating.
