This Hospital is classified in the category of Medical Center.
Love the open MRI there! From the appointments desk, billing person, actual MRI techs - it's a first class operation! I won't go anywhere else!
Staff is great and service is excellent
I went to the walk-in clinic for minor CP and was sent to the ED after being evaluated. There was relatively zero wait time and the staff was friendly. The doctor at the time had perfect bedside manner, always came to check on me and give us updates. The longest part was waiting for the lab and immaging results, but that was to be expected for my case. I felt well taken care of and I wouldn't hesitate to go again if need be.
My Mom was admitted with pancreatitis and was very ill. The staff was so compassionate and saw to her every need. I was very impressed with the medical care and the little detail that they took care of. I am so grateful to them for taking such good care of her from the ER TO ICU.
Always get great service.
Opened 2 collection accounts after I constantly called them to set up payments with no phone call return. 2 collection accounts for service on the same date. How does that make any sense? I'll be bringing my lawyer into this. Thank you
Awesome hospital. Better care than St. Peter's or Capital.
Rhonda Headquest. At registration. Was extremely rude to myself and my wife. My wife needed to be seen for a back injury. When I tried to give her my insurance card she basically threw it back at me. While waiting she checked in two other people and was rude to them as well. She needs to retire nobody deserves such poor treatment. I hope someone does something about this person. Because being the patient is hard enough you shouldn't have to deal with rude employees.
If I could do negative stars I would. Mason Generals emergency room staff and hospital program is a joke. I'm surprised people live going there. They let people suffer and aren't thorough in their testing. What a joke. I'm going to post names once I get my son's paperwork.
They let me spend the night with my father and checked on him every 15 minutes. They were very helpful, accommodating and friendly. They took excellent care of him and answered all my questions with dignity and grace.
Twice this year I've had severe, life-threatening healthcare issues that required an ER visit, and each time the level of care I recieved was beyond excellent. I normally don't do these reviews, but when I read these jokers posting 1-star reviews, I had to say something. The staff at this facility has been both competent and caring, not to mention they saved my life twice this year. The facility is well equipped, modern and easy to access. I highly recommend using this hospital and time you are need of health care.
Mason billing staff is horrible. I paid the amount due and still my account was sent to collections.....I contacted the collection company and asked them to work it out with Mason General.....it was then resolved.....they just hadn't posted the $$ to my account after two months. YKES>
The ER experience is the worst! 3 times we have been there and left! The whole hospital needs to step it up and become a customer service oriented place with great medical care!
Worst hospital in the entire State of Washington. Just awful. This hospital has declined in service progressively for years. Don't expect them to care at all if you are in pain, and the E.R. is deplorable.
I met a doctor on the 1st floor I will be filing a formal complaint against today. My sister in law is dying of terminal cancer, they have known for about 2 weeks. She was in the hospital due to low red blood cell count. My brother is also a head injury survivor and has trouble with short term memory. My brother was told she had 2 types of cancer but couldnt remeber what, so we went to the desk to ask. This clown started telling my brother that the humane thing would be to let her die and that he was selfish for keeping here. He then went on to tell my sister in law she had 2 days to live so make sure your family has everything in order. I did not know that God rsides at Mason General Hospital.
Went to the ER and was introduced to the filthiest hospital room I have ever seen. There was garbage overflowing onto the floor, stained linens, full dirty laundry bag, and what looked like feces smeared into the floor. I was talked to by a doctor, had my blood drawn and tested, taken for a CT, and sent home with two prescriptions to mask my symptoms. The next day I went to another ER, was admitted, and in surgery within 12 hours, followed by a four day stay. So Mason General found nothing wrong after a verbal examination (they didn't even look at the area of concern), testing, and imaging and told me to go to work the next day. This was also with no one in the waiting area and only one other person in the ER. My advice is avoid this hospital if you can.
Terrible staff. Haven't been to the doctor in ten years...this is why. Hospital should be friendly and helpful when you are in severe pain. I felt like me being in pain was an inconvenience to them. If you are in severe pain go somewhere else trust me!
I never have to wait to been seen, if so it was only about an hour....Friendly Staff & Doctors...
The hospital doctors are not helping the patients only hindering them and telling them they are a drug addict only to stop the pain level is high past 10 and not willing to give more pain meds to help never as gain coming here. SO DONT BRING ANYONE HERE
Absolutely great staff ..best nurses ever!
I'm a bit biased here, this hospital took the time to actually check my children when they were sick, unlike Bremerton hospital, and saved their lives. Never had a bad experience here. They practice medicine not the who's-worth-more-money game! I'll chose the longer drive over Harrison hospital any day.
My wife came in to this hospital by abulanc because she fainted, the nurse told the ent to put her in the waiting room, after the 2 argued for a minute the nurse pulled rank she was placed in the waiting room, not 10 minutes later she fainted again, luckily I to hold her up un till i was able to get a nurse, then they put us in a room and shut the door without hooking up any monitors. I would never recommend this hospital
I've always had the best, most friendly, most professional medical service at MGH. Whether it's for a blood draw, a preventive service like my mammogram, or even surgery, I've always been well taken care of. I've always left feeling confident of good followup, healing, and health.
Caring community
Staff cant bill right or on time. Now i owe money wow thats something else, they have 90 days to bill to be paid they billed in 93 and werent paid, guess we will go to court im a senior dont have 2600 to give them
Since the first time that I had to be seen at the Walk in clinic, to the referrals to surgery clinic and than surgery and aftercare, I feel that this team of providers really cares about my health.
Just finished the MRI on my knee. Can I just say that so far I absolutely adore Mason General Hospital? I have yet to have an unpleasant experience. The hospital campus is gorgeous, clean, the staff friendly, helpful, never in a hurry or rushing you but always speedy in an efficient way. I imagine the ER can get backed up but in the times I have been here for scheduled appointments I have never had to wait more than 15 or 20 mins in any 1 waiting room. And have I mentioned the stellar staff? Like really amazing, every last one of them that I have encountered. I'm impressed MGH, keep up the amazing job!
The best hospital I’ve ever been in. The maternity doctors r the best. Especially Tammy!
I want to first say that the ER staff are amazing. It's hit or miss with the ER registration desk personnel but I've always found the doctors and nurses to be top notch. My 1 star is in reference to the Physical Therapy department. I've had a stroke and so I've seen MANY professionals in various fields including several types of PT and this is THE WORST collection of staff members I've ever come across. We don't get calls, we don't get seen on time EVER (the longest wait was almost an hour), we were told that my daughter couldn't be seen anymore because her insurance wouldn't cover any more visits and within hours received a call from another person in the office requesting to reschedule her next day's appt. He had no clue about what the first person had said. Apparently she IS covered for more visits, just under her secondary insurance which the first person didn't even check for. No one seems to know what anyone else is doing. Just today we came in 10mins ahead of time, sat for 25 minutes waiting for the therapist whom, it turns out, was just sitting in the back. Meanwhile 2 other people came in and with at least 10 employees on duty (2 in a side office having a good visit) and only 3 people receiving therapy, no one was at the front desk to check them in so they sat down and had to ask a wandering staff member to check them in so that their therapist wouldn't skip them.... which also happens. Grr. This is our last day here. She has more visits but we'll go somewhere more professional.
BUYER BEWARE !!!!!!!!! I had the displeasure of using the orthopedic services at MGH, They took 4 x-rays of my knees and charged my insurance over $1,400.00. For the reading of the x-rays they charged $335.00. My co-pay was like $125.00 THIS IS HIGHWAY ROBBERY. I called a private company called TRA imaging on Lilly rd. in Olympia and got a quote for the exact same medical code for the x-rays. Their quote was like $125.00 for all 4 x-rays.... My co-pay would have been like $15.00 for the x-rays. I wrote a letter to the hospital board of directors, the CEO and CFO. I received a reply from a financial lackey. He went on to thank me for bringing this up and that they have over 7,000 medical codes they are reviewing. and a lot of blah blah blah to the extreme. The decided to reimburse me 25% of my cost but absolutely nothing to my insurance company. No wonder our health care system costs so much nowadays with hospitals ripping off the people (and insurance companies) that they are supposed to be committed to serve. Here is the second part of MGH's so called mission statement. AND LIE!!! We conserve "PATIENT" and community resources through a sustainable, "FINANCIALLY VIABLE", coordinated system of health care delivery. So what ever you do, DO NOT HAVE ANY IMAGING DONE BY A HOSPITAL...... SHOP AROUND...
Go to a different hospital or just die, either will be faster and more accurate.
ALL of the negative reviews and then some! We had the same billing problems for an emergency room visit for my husband. Tried to get a charity application but could NEVER get ahold of "Alex" the person responsible. Finally got approved but the dates were AFTER my husbands treatment so a $400.00 balance is now in collection and after first notification, the balance had increased to almost $700.00. They told me they couldn't get it back from collection (untrue. I DID credit and collections for a major hospital in Seattle and accounts could always be retrieved). The staff are nice enough in the ER but are obviously instructed to park you in the lobby no matter what you are suffering from and to cut you loose no matter what you are suffering from. I thought we were the only ones going through this but now I see otherwise. We DESERVE a quality facility in the Shelton area AND there is no excuse for not having one. Who do they admit? A nurse told me they send people home all the time that she KNOWS shouldn't be leaving the facility. Something has to be done; we can't all make it to St. Peter's in time (and they see Mason General "rejects" constantly and really pisses them off)
This facility and staff are remarkable. I spent two nights here recently the staff are very caring and competent. They went out of their way to understand my needs and make follow-up appointments for me. I felt that I was in good hands all the time.
Wish I could give this 0 stars. Worst fkn experience in my life. Wouldn’t come here again even if my life depended on it. The worst.
I had to go to the ER and got extraordinarily good service. Felt like the entire staff was looking after me and everyone was very kind.
Went to the walk in clinic on a saturday with strep throat; Dr told me that adults don't get strep throat and that I only had a bad cold and to just 'sleep it off'. Went to my regular dr on Monday, who ran the rapid strep test, and came home with antibiotics. One simple swab could have saved me days of misery...well that and a competent dr.
I took my brother in for a scheduled procedure. The staff was incredibly helpful and thorough in their treatment. The hospital itself is everything one could wish for in a local hospital. I would rather use a small town hospital anytime as compared to those found in larger cities. Hospitals such as Mason General provide personal care rather than the conveyor belt-like treatment in the larger facilities.
The staff here are remarkable. Every time I have had to go into the emergency room, I am met with kindness, hospitality, and people who really care about their patients. I have been seen multiple times by a doctor named Roy and he is one of the most kind doctors I have ever seen. He is very empathetic, he talks with you, not at you, he is understanding and just all around great at his job. I was just recently helped by a nurse named Jenny and she was the same way. This place never lets me down with quality medical providers, and efficient help every time.
My son went to Mason General for a partical left knee replacementI. When I went to pick him up he was lying on top of the bed and started to get up when he went DOWN. The incompetent guy who came in to help him just stood here. By this time I'm get hysterical yelling for help and no one came...the idiot guy still just stood there holding on to the wheelchair. I ran up to the nurses station yelling ...need help my son had falling. I swear it took 5 minutes before anyone ran to his room. My son wee yelling in pain saying something was wrong. They kept telling him to go HOME. He refused and next day the Dr.did an MRI and found my don had a severed quad. Another surgery and his Dr is apologized for doubting him. But the hospital never DID. I was and still am one passed mom.
Most of the staff was kind and attentive. There is always a few in a bunch who could work on their bedside manner. However, I'd hate to ignore the many kind faces who cared for me this weekend! Thank you!
Just moved to the area and pregnant with twins. When I came in to deliver, was taken care of by AMAZING staff from the get-go. So far I have No Complaints about my care. Everyone is very professional and bedside manner is great. Very attentive and kept me informed of every single thing they were doing.
I am not sure what all the fuss is with this hospital. Visits take time and an ache and pain can be anything. I have been going to this hospital for over 10 years. So let us start at the beginning. ER. First three visits was to the ER with the ex-wife for stomach pain. Could not find anything. They did all the normal tests and no luck to why anything was happening. It turned out to be IBS. Very hard to diagnose and it took two MRI's to find the situation due to the type of case. We were always treated with respect and the up most courtesy. Wait time was usually 30minutes to an hour. Stomach pain would not be at the top of the list of detrimental emergencies. I would hope the heart attack victim would be served first. This ended up being a blockage in the intestine. By the time the tests were done the blockage had passed making this very difficult to detect. Lab. I have only once in about 25+ visits waited longer than 20 minutes for any lab work. Great people, helpful, and very friendly. Maybe one bad experience in the mix. The counter staff have always been 100% The department that looks over your veins for blood clots was also another area I have visited twice. They did their job and found the problem. Saved my life. The only complaint I can have is when the ex-wife went in for surgery. The doctor was good. 90% of the nurses were good. However there was one nurse that if I could of fired her I would have. This is the only reason I give the hospital a very good rating. -CRP
I have only great things to say about MGH. They have a private, personal care that is like family.
Went to walk in clinic....thanks Dr.Bell......you are a true caring person....thanks....for your compassion....and listening to your patients....
If you are on Medicare you can expect enormous bills that won't be covered due to Mason General's special status as a rural hospital. If you are on Medicare it is best to avoid Mason General and its "family" of clinics altogether. Mason General and it's clinics do not have to accept the Medicare rates and they don't. If you can go to Thurston county for treatment do it. Otherwise be sure to apply for Mason General’s somewhat stingy charity care to help make up for the difference. You have to jump through a lot of hoops to get charity care but it is worth it if you are well enough to deal with all the paperwork.
I have ALWAYS received excellent and caring service at MGH. All of the nurses I have seen during my numerous visits, be it ER related or tests or blood work, have been friendly, caring and always will to help. They went out of their way to make myself or my husband comfortable whenever we needed services. The same goes for all the staff members and technicians. In short, MGH is a very friendly and personable facility that we will definitely return to again.
