Here you have all the information of real people like you who buy the services and products of Highline Medical Center (Hospital) near Washington.
Currently the business gets a score of 2.4 stars out of 5 and the score has been based on 168 reviews.
As you can see it has an average rating is quite insufficient, and it's founded on a very high number of opinions, so we may conclude that the valuation is very reliable. If there are many people who bothered to leave their opinion when they've done well, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to place evaluations when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Hospital is classified in the category of Hospital.
The primary doctor and the anesthesiologist was nice. But that was it. The nurses didn't seem interested or friendly. I had to make it even more obvious, when I was checking in initially, to even been seen as a person. It felt like a business. Not a hospital. Providence Hospital is amazing and the people there care. Not here. They would charge you to bleed to death on the floor.
Don't go here because the medical staff doesn't care whether they give you the proper treatment or not . They treated my sister the like she was garbage during the night
Took my mom to the ER for a severe nosebleed. Provider attending us was R.Hendrix. She stuffed a rhino device up my mothers nose without lubrication nor gave her num lub before placing it! Diagnosed her with ruptured artery in nose when in fact we went to another hospital saying it was due to her high blood pressure! Something happens to her, I'll sue that so called arnp!
Very good Staff their triage personnel were very good and very comforting. The nursing staff in the ER room did a great job. Dr kept me informed during the whole process. Explained what was going on during my care. Made me feel comfortable.
I would not go back to Highline Birthing Center ever again. I am 39 weeks and 4 days pregnant and have been in and out of the birthing center 4 times in the past week with contractions and pain. It is my first child so I understand that there are false alarms and that labor takes time, but the nursing staff on the weekend is horrible. I was waiting to be seen by a doctor for over 3 hours. They didn't even hook me up to a fetal monitor for an hour of me being at the hospital. At that she didnt even put the monitors on correctly and was not detecting my contractions. Not only when you are in the evaluation room are they not discreet, speaking to you quietly about confidential information, they choose to speak about your private health history as if they were yelling across the room. Example asking the woman next to us in another bed when the last time she took her "herpes" medication. I was in real bad pain to the point of tears and the nurse asks in rude tones "why are you crying?? because of contractions or what". I was not even given a pillow nor a chair for my boyfriend to sit in until we had asked. Also when i was walking the halls to try to have labor progress more my boyfriend was holding my purse and me, a nurse had made a comment "i wonder what kind of relationship they have that he carries her purse." They wouldn't even contact my doctor in regards to what i was informing them, just doubted everything i was telling them. When I asked what i should do for my pain because they were sending me home refusing to help me with my pain, the nurse told me i wasn't the only pregnant person in pain, that i could take tylenol or take a hot bath. That they couldn't do anything for me. They didn't even have me sign discharge papers when i left the hospital. I would not recommend this birthing center to anyone. When my boyfriend asked how to file a complaint about the comments made while walking in the halls, the nurse said that filing a complaint wont make that baby come faster. Then she said that we can go online. So here we are. I will not be going back to this hospital to deliver my child.
I would give a lower review if could. Terrible service. Terrible customer service on the phone also. Very dissapointed and i hope i don't have to deliver my child here
This is the second C-Section I’ve had here. The Care, kindness and professionalism are over the top! Dr. Abdessamad and Lily Cohen CNM make a dream team. Add Dr. Kennard and committed nurses, there’s nothing else my husband and I could ask for for our littles.
I tried to reach the hospital radiology department after hours, no answer.I I called the hospital main line, waited 2-3 minutes , then an operator connected me to an extension but no one answer the phone. I called the hospital again, waited 3 minutes and gave up.
I was sick in April and had to get an ambulance via the airport as they stated that Highline is the closest hospital to where I was. I was transported through a stretcher into the ambulance and the ride was not even 10 minutes before we reached Highline Medical Centre. I had a very personal illness but every single paramedic and staff member I was in contact with was very sympathetic and respectful towards me. My nurse was on break so a colleague of hers had taken me into the room and admitted me. There was quite a bit of consent forms and paperwork to fill out and sign but they assured me I did not have to rush and gave me time. Meanwhile, the same nurse assisted with my assessment and vital signs adequately (I know as I am a health care professional as well). There was never any judgement or feelings of discomfort from my end. Then a few minutes later, my primary nurse had come in and introduced herself to me and was very compassionate and friendly. She made me feel like I was her daughter and even guided me through the experience as she knew I was not a U.S. citizen (I am Canadian). She was very professional and got my IV in on the first attempt as I needed some IV fluids. She ensured me she would let the doctor know of my symptoms and have them addressed as soon as possible. She spent a few extra minutes speaking with me respectfully. Next, probably within half an hour, my ER doctor came in and spoke with me briefly before giving orders for medications. I got my meds in a timely manner. The nurse came and checked on me in a timely manner and also reassessed me in a timely manner. I was also helped by a care aide when I had rung the bell. Everyone seemed very professional; not at all annoyed or angry when I needed to ask for help or assistance. What I was MOST impressed about, that we do not provide enough of in our healthcare I find, was the AMOUNT of resources they had ready for me during my discharge. It seemed like they went above and beyond to print out all the resources I would need regarding my medical condition and medications I were prescribed. Frankly, we do not do that in our hospitals unless requested by the patient and even so, it would not be to the above and beyond that I felt they provided. This is what I loved about my experience, as it proved vital for my insurance coverage later (The out of province ambulance bill was $900 and the 4 hour hospital stay with medications/treatments/tests needed were $3000). Which were pretty much all covered afterwards when I submitted the paperwork months later. However, being in healthcare myself, I understand that many staffs in hospitals are overworked and understaffed. They did tell me after my medications, blood test and IV fluids that there was not much else they could do for me and that I would be discharged. I know that in Canada, we would likely be doing the same as them and that not all sick people can stay forever or as long as they want or else nobody else would get treatment. I know my nurse was empathetic when I had asked if I could stay a few hours later but she told me that I was discharged. As I headed out with my paperwork and prescription, I saw a long long line of people in the waiting area and had understood fully what she meant by how many people were waiting outside. Overall, I had a very pleasant experience at this hospital and although, I can't speak to the others in the reviews, this was my experience and I am very grateful for my hospital stay at Highline medical center and all of the staffs’ hard work. It is a tough job but many people don’t see it as they only see one side of the situation, not the other when the nurse is dealing with a staffing shortage, a higher than normal (unsafe) staff to patient ratio, dealing with life threatening conditions all while having a visitor shouting at them about how long they have been waiting and as well as an unstable, violent patient on hand.. it is endless. Next time, you are at a hospital or medical center, try thinking of what type of day the staff might have had. Thank you.
They saved my life once but other than that, this place sucks @$$. The last time I had to go for a set of sutures they glued my laceration and two days later it was infected and oozing puss. That same visit, I had left my $500.00 bike in front of the security guards office window directly in front of the security guards office window and it was stolen. I began to asked the security guard if he had maybe seen any thing or if he could reveiw to security cameras when he got extremely defensive and told me that I would need to get a court ordered sepeana to view any camera footage and completely made me feel like I was in the wrong. I was being polite and respectful. I think he either took it or had someone come and take my bike. It was complete bullshit how he treated me and the situation. Great job on doing your horibly hard job dude!
Worst ER EVER I HAD TO WAIT 2 hour in pain for my smashed finger after that nurse came for blood pressure... everybody is so careless...watching tv.... I went there 8:00pm and I was done around 11.45pm. Doctor was nice....but spl nurses in front desk was rude. He kind a mix Maxican/white with mustache
This the second time in the past two years that we've brought my 80+ year old mother to the ER and the second time we'be left after five hours without care. Very unacceptable and will not be gong back. I recommend trying Valley or something in Bellevue.
Son was having a severe panic attack, complaining with shortness of breath and about to pass out. 30 minutes after arriving they to his vitals. Two laters they took them again. I asked how much longer and was told 5 ahead of you, shift change new Triage nurse and (bad attitude) after waiting 6 hours and watching 50 or more people who came in after us go back and be treated we left. Poor service, cranky triage nurse and dirty waiting room. I watched a few sick kids, sprained wrist/ankle, pneumonia but no blood. WTH!! Highline wonders why they have a bad reputation. Don’t know what I was thinking they fractured my jaw and broke my tooth during surgery years back I must’ve lost my mind
I came into the Emergency room with a blood pressure rate of 227/157 along with a headache, the Doctor who was very young, Asian, she told me it is because I am black, this is not an emergency but to come in when there is an Emergency, so I asked her would it have been better if I were to leave and come in after the stroke? She said yes, So I left, They sopped me while I was leaving saying she saying the Doctor changed her mind and kept me to do test.
medications stolen by nurses threatened with security if i kept asking questions given ibuprofen while suffering kidney failure
My father has made many trips to this place and while he doesn’t like being there, the staff is incredibly patient with him and are really top notch. I just spoke with Kara and she was great in reassuring me that they are working with my father right now in his confusion and will make a safe release plan. Kara really made me feel like I was being listened to. I’ve got to rate them high as they have always been professional and patient with my father.
Would not recommend going here unless it's life or death and it's the closest hospital.
They owe me $5000.00 for contracted nurses that my company had sent them. I paid my nurses, they never paid me, and never responded to phone calls. The financial officer was never in when I visited. We have since terminated our relationship. Prior to that, they always paid late, often by several months. I hope they have fixed their financial problems by now, and hopefully they can pay their bills and their staff.
WARNING: GO TO SWEDISH: They are MUCH better and IF YOU GO HERE, YOU ARE PUTTING YOUR LIFE AT RISK!!!!!!! I went today to the ER. Let's not mention when I lived in Burien (I do not now) and I got horrible care there and I had stitches done improperly and a Cath in my arm done to the point where they put my life at risk...We will just stick to today. At about 9:45 this morning, I had coughed pretty hard and then was going into the bedroom to say something to my husband and I felt this sharp pain as if something had ruptured and exploded. After going to the ER, the first problem was the idiot at the front desk who had tatoos and glasses. I am sitting there screaming in pain and without coming out to even check on me, they had me waiting in the wheelchair in the center so everyone could just stare while I sat there. I told the Nurse who brought me in that I was waiting a long time and watched others go before me and she argued with me, was EXTREMELY nasty and EXTREMELY unprofessional and compassionless and she goes, "It was not THAT long." She would not give me her name...Very Suspicious and EXTREMELY ABUSIVE. She was also telling my husband nasty things about me that were not true like "Your wife is being belligerent." WTF? The nurse Heidi comes in who was nice, but then she disappeared. I am sitting there screaming in my bed for at least an hour before the "PA" (I did not even get a REAL DOCTOR) comes in and he did not even introduce himself as my doctor, He just came in and was giving me nasty looks and the nasty once over like I had done something to his mother, when all I was doing was being in pain. He comes in and tells me that the thinks this is a muscle spasm and then says he will bring relief soon and then another half hour goes by, nothing. This is AFTER HE walks by SEVERAL TIMES, SEES THAT I NEED HELP,W ATCHES ME SCREAM AND DOES NOTHING. I had ran the Nurse Bell at least three times. This a hole comes in to give me an ice pack and at that point, I did not want to the Ice Pack b/c the DOCTOR WHO WAS NOT LISTENING DID NOT HEAR THE FACT THAT THAT ICE AGGRAVATED my condition. Then the pscyho abusive nurse tells my husband that I refused the ice pack to pit my own husband against me...playing emotional games with me. Then the doctor, after me asking for the Nurse Manager and hitting the Nurse button three times, tells me he is going to INTENTIONALLY put BAD THINGS IN MY RECORDS ABOUT ME B/C I COMPLAINED ABOUT HOW I WAS BEING TREATED. He also REFUSED TO DO A BLOOD TEST OR MRI despite the fact that I was asking for it and my insurance would cover it. Only after me begging did he do an X RAY, and then he left and walked out and told me to have a nice day. You CAN BET I AM GETTING ALL THEIR NAMES AND WILL BE FILING A SERIOUS COMPLAINT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AGAINST THEM. They have some serious answering to do. I ended up going to Swedish and finding out that I have a Slipped Disc. That is a A LOT more serious than a muscle spasm. I will NEVER forget how horribly I was treated here and hope that ANYONE WHO READS THIS DOES NOT GO TO THE ER! Rebekah
My mom was hypotensive no one looked after her and she passed away. My sister's and I had to threaten to Sue them even to check on her. Still heartbroken over this one. This place knew my mom was dying! They chose to ignore her. I'm still traumatized by watching her die. My mom said she needed to lay down; leaned back and her eyes rolled to the back of her head. She started to convulse. I looked at the machine and she was flatlined. I ran out to find a nurse none were at the station. After that I found a nurse I still feel like suing them. My sisters and I suffer. I will tell you how traumatized I was. I kept calling her body it. I couldn't even look at her body. She was no longer there and quite frankly I saw her leave. I'm so angry with them and the kidney centers. She was hypotensive they waited too long to do much of anything. This still brings tears to my eyes. My mom a strong woman who did her own repairs to her home. A woman who worked for Boeing 38 years. Was too weak to stand up, to eat, to breathe. I still so angry and hurt by this loss. Then we get a call from the hospital asking about my moms corneas. This hospital should be inspected regularly. They don't treat there patients.
My brother was in cardiac arrest and the doctor asked the nurse what to do! This place isn't a hospital it's a hospice you go here if you want to die.
I drove over to your facility on July 20 from Cd'A Idaho to have a cardiologist exam by Dr. Gotlieb for the Idaho State Insurance. His report on our visit was full of false statements and twisted versions of my answers. He would not accept the paperwork that was sent to me prior to our visit that I had filled out. He was rude and unprofessional.
Very positive experience, excellent care and great staff.
For everyone's awareness, it seems a man is sueing this hospital for allowing the mother of his chid to die in childbirth here. Article: https://www.ajc.com/news/national/washington-teacher-dies-childbirth-husband-now-suing-hospital/SBcbXTljekAl2OWfIQEDsO/
Worst ER ever. I went to the ER after I was vomiting, nauseous, had a bad headache and pain on the left side of my face and drooping of the left side of my mouth and numbing pain radiating through out my arms. They did a good job getting me seen right away but awful communications on the RN's that took care of me. I was given fluids through IV to help rehydrate me after vomitting several times then injected me with Phenergen, something to help with the nausea. They did not tell me how much they were injecting and lead to me having dry mouth, uncontrollable shaking tight chest, shortness of breath, and numb lips. I had a panic attack and was very afraid. With no knowledge of what was going on, they did not communicate with me how much they were giving me, the side effects I should expect and when I asked the RN if this is normal she gave me this blank stare and didnt even respond back. I overheard them say "That's not supposed to happen" How is that supposed to help or encourage me? One of the nurses was still a nurse in training. I would have liked to be notified that one of them was still in training. After the RN's left I was still shaking could not breath or talk or couldn't swallow. I was having an allergic reaction and we pressed the call button and waited a while and no one came until my boyfriend had to go out and get the charge nurse himself. They realized they MIGHT have injected me with this stuff too fast given the reaction I had to it. You could tell they did not know what was going on or how to deal with it. I got no sympathy, passion or anyt ype of verbal encouragement from any of the RN's that were attending to me. If they are dealing with a 99lb girl and are aware that there could be a possibility of over dosing someone, they should have thought about that before injecting me an amount that was unknown to me with side effects that were unknown to me. Worst experience in the ER.. If you want to get in and out and taken care of in a timely manner, this is the place but don't expect top notch care or nurses that are 100% aware of what they or doing or nurses in training that are more concerned in getting their credits in for nursing school.
As a doctor I am exceedingly critical of hospitals. After my dad had an event at SeaTac he was brought to Highline and had exceptional care in the ED and on the floor. Remember it's usually only the negative reviews people take time to post.
DO NOT GO HERE WITH AN EMERGENCY. This hospital is understaffed and most of the employees seem to have no sense of urgency. Our grandmother went in and had to wait 6 hours in the ER before getting admitted and had a heart attack caused by the staff incorrectly treating her. Necessary tests keep getting postponed because of lack of employees.
Came to hospital for pneumonia and leg giving out wheelchair to 1st floor and ignored staff was completing on whether to Tek my wheelchair . People came in and was seen these people we're just for common cold and I sit here in pain . The staff is non caring and rude as hell . No one came check mi in lady downstairs was helpful but lied to when she refused to Tek mi out of wheelchair and was told emergency would Tek care of mi ..I tell you very unprofessional prat customer service is third party service which transfer you to emergency room and all they do is lie and appease you that you will be in room none come just keep calling customer service until some reaction comes... worst hospital
Horrible Service.
Worst place to come I won’t come back in my life .......this is a lesson, And I like to tell everyone who think it’s a hospital it’s not never ever waist your time find some where else that all I can say
Wrost hospital in Burien WA stay away at all cost. This is a very discrimination based hospital. There ER doctors treat you with no respect, 98% of nursing staff there are abusive towards you, have no respect for HIPPA privacy or feelings of a person. Staff there will lie to get them selves out of trouble. The staff will humiliate you if you are differnt over weight, disabled ect. They no absolutely nothing about patient comfort or properly finding a cause of why you are sick (Note: Have proof of this). If you ask for proper medical treatment, test and they don't agree they will ask you too leave the hospital. If you are in a emergency medical situation with risk of passing away and want too stay alive go to another hospital too stay alive. Going there is being treated like a "abused dog" with only person being at fault is the pet owner which is the hospital staff.
Regarding the birthing center... Everyone here is amazing! Our little boy is a premie and has been in the nursery for over 2 weeks now and they have taken such good care of him and us. You can tell they all truly care. The facility is great too. The rooms are big and comfy.
poor nursing service for the patients fix that please and ill give 4
The family birthing center is super legit. I highly recommend people have their babies here. The nurses are extremely attentive and professional.
When my daughter broke her arm two years ago, I took her in to the ER here. They were sympathetic and took care of her pain. They set her arm in a splint and gave me a referral for a follow-up to get her cast on. The only problem was that the referral was to someone out of network, so I had to deal with that, and was eventually sent by my insurance to Seattle Children's, which is a really good hospital.
This place needs new administration! My niece recently had her first baby in this place and for 3 days the trash sat in the trash bin stinking and growing fuller everyday. We asked both a nurse and a Doctor to please have someone take care of it ...we were ignored, it sat for days with all the birth debris as well!!!!! Highline LOOKS nice, but don't be fooled. The nurses don't answer their phones, they're not always sure if a patient is even still IN the hospital....not good business...or care!
This place is horrible was at this supposedly emergency room for almost 6 hours longest wait times unprofessional nurse's and staff will never go here again
I had visite Last night in the ER and left my Lg bluetooth in the room and they said they Don't have my bluetooth and 100% I had hange the wall in the room. Their Employer took my bluetooth.
My girlfriend came in cause she was out of her psychiatric med for schizophrenia which she had already been out of for a couple days and wasnt doing so well at this point. the first nurse seemed nice enough until they started accusing her of being a drug addict. It took 2 hours to get her 1 pill. They should have seend she wasnt doing well. Aftet giving her the pill they make us wait around another hour and then they move us to a different room and shut the door. Eventually the social worker comes in straight up accusing my girlfriend saying all the anxiety and sleeplessness were because she was using meth!! What kinda my girlfriend eventually told the lady that if she was just gonna accuse her of being an addict and wasnt gonna do anything to actually help her she should leave the room and get her discharge papers. Needless to say they got those papers pretty quick.
Sin organizacion, FALTA DE HIgiene y un 50% de servicio basico, malo. No lo recomiendo.
This hospital is a joke.
I had my blood drawn today and the lab technician was user friendly and helpful. The team is new and fresh. The facility is clean, friendly and all new look with the arrival of CHI Franciscan there. I just joined and started working there and it is impressive so far.
Worst place ever been here since 11 staff are rude and unprofessional ..
Born here
Fist off, I came in with excruciating pain in my abdominal area, they pushed me around random rooms. Then one of the nurses asked me to take my shirt off and I never saw it again. Then they messed up on the IV injection TWICE!!! My blood along with the water in the Iv was spraying on my face. They didn’t explain at all where the pain came from, they refused to believe me when I insisted that I have insurence and treated me like some junkie. Overall I was left shirtless and clueless and now one seemed to care.
I would like to inform everyone that your hospitals caferteria worker, Cathleen or Catherine, is the rudest operator ever. After ordering my food, she says "you can hang up if you want", trying to provoke me into an argument, then continued too say "go ahead, slam the phone!" I informed her that would be out of my character. She needs to understand the customer / patient relationship. She stressed me out more than the hospital stay&the second night staying there I heard CNAS and nurses discussing me in a negative way and none of it was to be medical. But on the otherhand the nurses Carla, Rama, Monique, were awesome and the CNAS named Amy and Zora were excellent.
On Sunday My grandpa who is very ill with yellow skin and yellow eyes was brought to the ER. My grandpa does not know much English so we have to translate for him. When they were giving him blood, the nurse’s assistant did not wear any gloves and said the blood in the packet that stopped flowing was done. There was still blood in the packet, I don’t know why she said it’s done. My mom who used to be doctor knows that you give the patient all of the blood. I don’t know if she thought we had no knowledge of this. But girl it’s not right to be wasting people’s blood that they donate, and our money. Even being here for a few days, Some of the ER nurses and doctors I don’t want to speak for all, do not give their all into their work, and didn’t give a good attitude to us, and our grandpa. It’s a hospital but where’s the hospitality? I get it nurses and doctors have to work long hours. So maybe that’s why so many of these people don’t like their jobs. Tomorrow my grandpa is transferring to UW because they couldn’t remove his tumor/kidney stones. I don’t know specifically but, Thank God for a better hospital! I do like to say there were er workers who seem to really do care about their jobs and patient. A nurse name Sarah was very kind and genuine. She asked if my grandpa was more comfortable with a family member to translated or a translator to translate. She took into consideration of what my grandpa wanted. And asked if he wanted to be examined or not. She seem like she really did care about putting forth her effort for the patient and her job. Kevin the guy who helped find the vein in my grandpa’s arm also seemed like a genuine person. When my mother prayed for him to find the vein he didn’t seem uncomfortable and was accepting of my mom’s belief. Which is what this hospital should be as stated on the website. Also I don’t know who but while I was sleeping in the “family” room someone put a blanket over me which was really nice. But another thing I found really weird about this place is the fact that they care for the people in the clinic before the pay any attention to the people in the ER. Excuse me the people in the clinic can wait. But you’re telling me the people in desperate need of help are looked after. Whenever we asked the nurse when the doctor will come in. The nurses always reply with they don’t know when, when we asked about the surgery they also said they didn’t know when. Not that it’s their fault that they don’t know when the doctors are gonna come in because, obviously we have to wait because, the doctors are worried about the clinic first. We are an Asian family and we felt like we weren’t given enough respect. This isn’t hate this is feedback. Take it as you please, but I personally wanted to provide this feedback to help the patients who deserve better service and to be treated better, the visitors as well. I do not like talking negative but this is unacceptable.
The staff here is friendly. And they did a lot to help us out. The cafe area has plenty of options.
I've been a patient on more than one occasion. First in '07, again in '08,'11 and again this year 2014. Each time I've had to argue with the "hospitalist"" and the pharmacy about how much insulin I require to control my blood sugars. This last visit was my final straw. I would rather let my life expire than ever do battle with a bunch of ego-maniacs who apparently have no clue regarding bediside manner, or a physicians prescription for diabetes. The amazing thing is, my prescription for insulin was written by a doctor with admitting privileges almost exclusively at Highline. I grew weary of the negotiation and after I suffered a "cardiac" incident, I promptly requested to be moved to Providence in Everett. A completely different experience!
amazingly caring staff, was scared to be in here for my first surgery and first overnight stay, but I never felt like I was below anyone else. always felt like I was a king
My wife was turning blue while sitting on the toilet at hine, could not get up. called for help. I checked her, called 911. The medics got her onto a gurney giving her oxygen, transported her to Highline ER. She was seen promptly, XRayed, lab tested, found she had bilateral pneumonia. They continued respiratory support, gave her IV antibiotics and contacted her insurance which was Group Health Cooperative. The ER people then contacted the ambulance people to transport her with respiratory support to a GHC hospital in Seattle. While we waited the nursing and medical staff were attentive and caring. My wife is 84 years old and was most appreciative of her care
Came directly to ER from Sea-Tac with an injury to my shoulder that happened in the Atlanta airport . Efficient, compassionate, patient centered care. XRs, diagnosis, pain control, & still made the cruise ship with time to spare even with a fracture. Dr. Lance Young & his ER team are medical rock stars!! What a great community hospital in Seattle's back yard!! ( family nurse practitioner from GA says THANK YOU!!)
My experience with Highline Medical is horrible. Ive checked into the ER three times. Once for a sprained ankle suffered at work, once for getting hit by a car as a pedestrian, and once for inexplicable kidney pain that crippled me for weeks. When I got hit by a car they took my vitals and that was it. Not even an x-ray. The doctor made me wait in the lobby for an hour despite unknown internal injuries. I could barely stand, much less walk, and they didnt even offer me a wheel chair but I had to walk myself across the hospital to my assigned room, in noticeable pain all the while. No medication was given to me while I was there. Then all the doctor did was give a visual inspection, touching me with ungloved hands. I was given a prescription for ibuprofen! Rest assured though, the medical bills were outrageous, the hospital never even lost the cost of a pair of latex gloves. The time I wasted in the lobby should have been payment enough for the quality of care I received. When I checked myself in for kidney pain I had my vitals taken and was given an x-ray and a morphine drip while I was there. But I went undiagnosed. Never found the cause. I got a prescription for narcotic pain relief, enough to last just a few days, and was sent home. The pain eventually went away on its own but to this day I have no explanation. They never referred me to a consultant or specialist and never asked me to come back in for a checkup. Neither of these first two occurrences was I able to show proof of medical insurance before the care I received. I was able to get insurance to pay later on. But the fact of the matter is both times they sent my medical bills to a collection agency as soon as I left the hospital. I was getting soliciting phone calls later that same night. They never even asked me to pay my bill. The best care I received so far was when I sprained my ankle at work and L&I covered the bills. I had to use the bathroom while I was laid up in bed and they flat out ignored me and my pleas for help to the bathroom or for a bed pan. They didnt even adjust my crutches correctly. My discharge paperwork explicitly stated that the hospital would call me in a few days for a telephone-based checkup on my condition. I never received that call. It took me a week and a half but I realized that they had discharged me without even filling out the L&I claim paperwork correctly, making me ineligible for workplace compensation AND ineligible to return to work until I got it resolved. After a dozen phone calls, transfers, a bit of being given the runaround, and three voice mail messages that went unanswered, I finally got a hold of the right person a WEEK later, who told me I had to come back in (on my crutches) to have them fix their mistake. They back-dated it so that I would get less in compensation than the time I was off from work getting them to resolve the mistake. Trivial complaint: The discharge paperwork also gave me instructions on how I could access my hospital records online by signing up for their website. After signing up and forking over my personal information, the website still denied me access to my records, telling me that record information could only be given out over the phone. That is the sum total of my experience with HMC. My friends and family in the area have had similarly horrible experiences. No one I know is satisfied with HMC. And from what I hear, they are the more overpriced hospital in the area.
Wonderful! I am not sure why this hospital has such horrible reviews. I did not come to the emergency. My sister had surgery and I stayed 4 days with her. .. non-stop. The staff was incredibly nice and went out of their way to take care of BOTH our needs. I cannot speak highly enough about the surgical recovery on the 5th floor. Dr. Finkle-Weaver , Dr Martin were very attentive and thorough and had bed side manors of angels. It's as if they all feel like she is a part of their family and are taking care of her as a family member would. She has so many nurses I couldn't possibly name them all. .. but if I ever have a lengthy hospital stay. .. These are the nurses I would want!
lack of personal interest. the RN's and the doctors are working so fast that they dont really listen. they get u in and out
The medical service was adequate. The speed of being received was very slow and the price was outlandish and a complete rip off. I had stitches and was told to return to have them removed that it was "free". So instead of dealing with my doctor I just swung by and had them removed I was in there for less than 5 minutes and they charged me over $400 to remove 3 little stitches on my hand.
I went there Early morning April 29 and I was hemorrhaging and I was bleeding out so bad and got sent home with the doctors note saying to excuse me from one day of work while I couldn't even make it out the ER without profusely sweating almost passing out becoming pale I mediately turned around started yelling something wasn't right and I needed to be checked back in after that they ended up keeping me and I needed 3blood transfusions I was also treated when I told him I was having very bad chest pain and it hurt really bad and I felt like the pneumothorax I had before and I was told by a certain surgeon previously that if I have another pneumothorax they would have to place chest tube and the doctors told me and that I was being a hypochondriac making them look for things that wasn't there even though the lady doctor I had had put in a note to give me a chest tube because I had another pneumothorax the doctor at had toast with nor was she said keeping me in there for five extra days because he didn't believe Imaging that was taken as I was told to stop being a hypochondriac I was also told that if I was really in pain there is there's no reason I should really be in pain or unless I'm in asthmatic but I've been was born with asthmaI've been asthmatic all my life that's what I told him and is soon as I said that he stated that he had 18 patients and he hadn't even reviewed my file to know what was going on I know that because I asked him did he look at my file he told me no and I was pretty much called a liar about how much pain I was in I was told that I was Requesting testing that was unnecessary and even though I was right about me having a pneumothorax again he did not want to take the correct procedures to fix it. I was told if I was really in pain then I would be a certain way even though I was in a lot of pain and doctor Ail proceeded to tell me only way you will be in that much pain is if you are asthmatic or if you have COPD but Ive been an asthmatic since brith I told him I was a chronic asthmatic and he looked at me and smirked and disbelief and after days of me complaining Dr. Ali left to get a specialist take a look at the imaging and they told him they needed to place a chest tube in my lung to relieve the air that was traveling from my shoulder to the front of my chest to my back just I was in there for seven days eight days dealing with this and other medical issues. As far the ER I WILL NEVER EVER EVER GO BACK THERE AFTER THAT EXPERIENCE IT WAS THE Worst AND I COULD OF BLEED OUT WAIT I DID AND NEEDED 3units Of BLOOD DONT GO TO THE ER
Received great care amazing staff
Hate this hospital. I've been going to this hospital ever since I was 8 because it's the nearest hospital, so when we go they take a long time to give feedback and today I wasn't able to see my girlfriend. For one she can't be taken to the hospital without an guardian because she's under age and two I just want to know what is going on and if she's okay. This place suvks. Me and my family has started to go to Swedish because they're the best.
I came in telling them i was having great difficulty breathing. They kept me waiting for over half an hour with almost no other patients and after che king my blood pressure and temp and asking the basic questions had me continue waiting for nearly 2 more hours! 3 stars for cleanliness
We have been to this emergency room twice. Once in 2015 and again 3 months ago. Today, we received a notice from a collection agency regarding an outstanding amount. Note that we have never received a bill in the mail, nor a phone call from Highline's billing department. When we called the billing department, we were informed that we also had an outstanding amount from 2015. Yes, 2015. Again, no bills, emails or phone calls. We were told that we should check with our Post Master (even though we receive all of our other bills and mail). After multiple transfers and required authorizations. We finally found out that they had the wrong address on our account. Oddly though, they had the correct phone number. Again, we never received a phone call regarding any outstanding balances. I would think in the normal course of business, if a mailed bill goes unpaid, a phone call would be made to follow up and get payment and to confirm the account details.
Worst hospital in existence, my grandmother went in for an ear infection, they started an iv and were pushing fluids on her when she wasn't dehydrated. It put stress on her heart and caused her to have a heart attack. DO NOT GO THERE
Sucks. Is the worse services you can imagine. My daugther was boiling on fever and they took 40 minutes on writing the patient info.
2 days ago my wife delivered our baby girl at highline hospital in Burien. I have to admit that at first i was doubting of the good care they provide based on reviews. but let me tell you this: since the first minute spent there they welcomed us with a sincere smile.we love this place. midwife. nurses. asistents. etc... they all really make you feel welcome. respected and loved. they trully care for you. and more than just a patient they make you feel like family. its highly recomended not only by my wife but also by me. Thank you all at HIGHLINE MEDICAL CENTER In the child birth department. you guys did an amazing job. GOD bless you all!!
When it came time to choose a birthing center for my first and subsequently second child, Highline was an obvious choice. I did my research, called around and visited others. Other, possibly more renown centers, were less than attentive. I felt like a number being passed around their internal system scheduling system...not to mention the maze to find parking and the child center themselves. The team at Highline - from orientation to delivery and post op - was well integrated and put me and my children first. Having control over my care (as part of their PlanTree philosophy) worked well for my family.
Dr.Le needs to get her license removed. Clearly she is just there for the money I went in with so pain an all she did is pump me with antibiotics clearly I started that, I've been before with the same pain an that it's not gonna work an here iam in bed at home missing money from work because she couldnt fix the problem.
The staff in the Surgery Center are very nice but my mom had to wait for TWO HOURS in the pre op area before even speaking to any doctors or nurses. I suggest bringing a book and someone to hold it when you go in.
They were very polite and they were very goo d with my dad.
I was a bit nervous going in with such a low rating. Let that be a lesson to not avoid a place based on ratings until you have experienced it for yourself. I went into the ER at approximately 6 p.m. Wednesday, it was packed full of people wIting . I got checked in and about an hour later I was called into triage. After that about 30 min later they called me back to a room. I encountered about 9 staff members ( I had to be seen by multiple technicians), was there long enough to have 3 different nurses over the night. I have never felt more assured, safe, and hopeful as I did at these ER. Every staff member was amazing! Everyone was super nice and was very willing to make me as comfortable as possible. The doctor was very detailed with his information. I did not feel rushed even though he was very busy. I hope everyone's experience here will be as good as mine.
I recently had surgery here and couldn’t be more impressed by the staff! Everyone is so friendly and compassionate! Dr. Archibald is fantastic and the nurses- especially Karen R. And Christine went above and beyond expectations! Even though their computers were down for part of the time- they moved things along in a timely manner. I highly recommend this hospital and am grateful to have had such a great experience. Thank you to all who work here:)
Regional has many great resources to offer. They have access to the skill and equipment that those in severe respiratory distress need. Their professionalism is impressive and it is obvious that they care about their patients and make a great effort. The facility is well appointed and clean. They have a good nurse to patient ratio and response time is usually pretty good.
I was there with my wife; it is hospitable, caring and professional.
Took my mother to the ER due to chest pains and swollen esophagus. They took a quick ECG, and then left us in the waiting area for 3 hours. This can happen in ERs when many patients come in with more serious medical problems, but the thing was.... they were empty, and no ambulances were rolling in either. It was only after a rush came in that they finally began moving the line. When I asked what was taking so long, the nurse at the counter became extremely rude, and then I clearly saw her put my mother's chart to the back of the pile. I asked to see a manager or head nurse, and a gentleman came out and said my mother was going to be next, and then her file that was put in the back was placed in the front. Totally not cool, completely unacceptable. It got worse when we finally were brought to the back. They drew samples of her blood, and then i noticed that they threw parts of the IV into the regular trash. I looked around, there was no biological sample waste bin in sight. I went into the hall and noticed that none of the rooms had a red bio waste bin in sight either. A new nurse came in, and had no idea what was going on. I filled her in on what I knew. She took the one sample that was left in the room, put a dispenser tube in it, and then began ejecting blood right into the waste bin. Next, a new nurse came in and got the doctors orders wrong for what medicine to give my mom. I'm making an official complaint ASAP. This hospital needs oversight. They are right next door to my house, but I'm never coming to this hospital until I knew they've received proper oversight.
This is a nice, friendly community hospital.
I have been here twice and received good treatment both times. They are a small local hospital so if I needed major surgery I would go to a specialty hospital but the staff and hospital here are good.
Hated it. If only i could give them 0. When i checked my daughter into the er at 2am it felt like they were under the impression that i had a kidnapped baby (mixed baby) a lady comes in and gets all my info cause that was the 1st time i went there and she didnt mention if the health insurance for my daughter covers the bill, iam going to raise hell if i see any payments i didnt consent to.the er doctor was nice but didnt give me no real information on what was going on with my baby but wanted to take xrays anyways to make sure. I waited about an hour waiting for the xray dude and so i got up and asked the desk lady when the xrays are going to happen she said "sorry we just got slammed" (it is 4 in the morning now.) I go back to my room wait 5 mins then the xray dude came in and told me to follow him to the xray rooms. THERE WAS NO ONE IN ANY OF THOSE ROOMS THERE WAS NOBODY ANYWHERE??!! The er might be "slammed" but the xray rooms were not at all. He xrays my daughter and takes me back to my room i wait another hour a stocky white guy who is almost bald walks in mugs me and grabs some gloves and walks out. 10 mins later i went to the desk and hes just chillin there so i asked him if i can leave and he said in a snippy tone "if you want to" i then said i was waiting on xray results and he said thats not our department those take awhile. By that time i was pissed cause it was 5am my 1 1/2 year old was up all night at the hospital waiting on them, he was disrespectful & i had to be at work in 3 hours so i left no one tried to stop me from leaving or i didnt have to check out ? No one has even tried to call me about my daughters xrays. HIGHLINE is a piss poor hospital why is this hospital still running??? I STILL dont know whats wrong with her HIGHLINE does NOT care about their patients whatsoever. i now know to stick with renton valley best hospital i don't care how far renton hospital is anymore. Smh. DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL THEY DONT CARE ABOUT YOU.
I was admitted thru the emergency room and the doctors and nurses were fantastic. All my concerns and questions were answered promptly. Very patient and caring. Afterward spent 2 weeks recuperating until discharged. Everything went smoothly. Highly recommend the hospital! Much preferred over UW or Swedish where you are just a number on a piece of paper.
I absolutely hated Highline Medical Center. I was brought here due to pain from Kidney stones. They saw my Insurance and never told me they are Out of Network for me. I was new to Seattle just a couple of days old and unfortunately had a lot of pain and had to get into emergency at Highline. They gave me morphine after which I was good. I could have gone to an in network hospital but they wanted to have my CT Scan done. Never told me the exorbitant ct scan cost $4500. All this happened Jan 2014. I am still paying then $500 per month. They never compromised to give me any discounts. Imagine a CT Scan and 1 morphine. I was in Hospital for 4 hours may be. and $4500 Really?????
I WISH I COULD GIVE THEM A ZERO!!! I went there 5 years ago barely able to breathe, chest hurt, could barely walk, and with a fever that had lasted over two weeks. The nurse does my vitals and takes my temperature and says everything's normal, except that I could see that my blood pressure was 80/50, and my temperature was over 102!!! I confronted her about it, and she says the machines broken. If that's the case, how do you know it's normal?! They take some blood, tell me I have a simple uti, give me a small prescription of antibiotics, and tell me it should clear up in a few days. Practically push me out the door. I was a heroin user at the time, but still 20 years old!!! Well, two weeks later; I can't even walk ten steps to the bathroom, my chest feels like it's full of lead, I'm freezing all the time but the fever's gone, and I can't even take small sips of water without projectile vomiting. I finally get driven to swedish hospital on cherry; I have hypothermia (temp of 91), oxygen level around 60, blood pressure in the 70's, am in multiple organ failure, have congestive heart failure, staph bacteria riddled throughout my entire body in my bloodstream, and am diagnosed with bacterial endocarditis in minutes, along with told I'm probably not going to make it. I told the dr that I was seen at Highline and he told me that there was ABSOLUTELY NO WAY that 2 weeks ago my vitals were fine and that it just looked like a simple uti. HIGHLINE KNEW MY DIAGNOSIS BUT DECIDED THAT I, A 20 YEAR OLD GIRL, DIDN'T DESERVE TREATMENT AND SHOULD DIE BECAUSE I WAS ADDICTED TO HEROIN!!! After a 6 week stay at the cherry hospital, some absolutely amazing staff who worked their hands to the bone and used their blood sweat and tears to save my life, and 5 years later; I am 5 years clean, I have a daughter and a family, and I'm living a very happy life! Highline Medical Center would have let me die with my whole life still ahead of me because they didn't think I deserved to treated for an illness that they knew without proper treatment was going to kill me. They saw the clubbing of my nails, how bad my vitals were, how much pain I was in; but because they also saw track marks, they decided that I should die. They KNEW very well that a small prescription of bactrum wouldn't have done anything for me, they just had to cover their asses saying that they did something. As medical staff, you don't decide who deserves to live or deserves to get treated. If someone's sick, you just treat them and you do your job treating the patient with as much dignity as possible. HIGHLINE MEDICAL CENTER FAILED!!!! On top of that, my mom and I reported them because of the treatment, we got a settlement from them. Well then they try to send us a bill with a bunch of tests that they didn't even do while I was there that equals just about as much as the amount we got in the settlement!!! Even if we legitimately owed them ANYTHING, because of the treatment I got there, the fact that they knew what was wrong with me but decided that I deserved to die; my mom and I absolutely swore that they would NEVER see a penny from us!
This is a Money Hungry Hospital Facility in King County Area; I will never ever put my footstep on this Hospital and they won't get a penny out a me. B careful they will send your account to a Third Party collection called Professional Credit Services with u knowing it. If Im were u go to the real Hospital like Harbor view Med in Seattle or Valley Medical in Renton.
Worst place for child birth .The service was bad and and staff was rude. They assume your baby is bigger because of your color and put you under knife, especially male doctors, more specifically Dr.Anderson. Didn't ask for written consent, he rushes women into surgery with no respect or care for their wellbeing. Doctors like him should care more about his patients than stuffing his pockets. Watchout.
I used Highline Medical Center for an emergency appendectomy this past week. From the emergency room late Tuesday night until my discharge on Thursday afternoon I was treated with excellent service, care, compassion, and friendliness. The facility was clean and modern and the nurses and support staff took very good care of my needs. They also made my partner feel very comfortable as he was by my side throughout my stay. I'm sorry to hear of others negative experiences but I can only speak positively of mine. Thank you to all who aided in my care.
Had are baby here incredible experience nurses nice the doctors very nice made it easy and enjoyable definitely coming back
Split my head open and went to the ER. It's been half an hour, I'm losing conciousness and no body has even come to offer an ice pack.
My brother has been admitted to this crummy hospital after the doctor who performed his colonoscopy there forget and left a clamp in his colon. He is now fighting for his life with sepsis - I would never, ever go to this hospital nor recommend anyone I know.
If you have a choice do not go here. They will charge more then $300 a minute for the operatibg room ($18,000 an hour), the customer servuce is terrible, the waits are extremely long, and they will send you to collections without ever sendibg you a bill. Hospitals already have a bad reputation for the skyrocketing medical costs and this hospital justifies that reputation.
Perfect
i came here to get the pain in my stomach checked out and all that happened was an iv and an ultrasound (i was there 11 am- the evening). the nurse that did my iv was nice but didn’t know what she was doing, my arm was numb and bruised and i couldn’t move it the whole day i was there. the nurse who was doing my ultrasound attempted it twice and also didn’t know what she was doing. she told me “i don’t know how to do this, i give up” when earlier she told us she was the best ultrasound person they had. we got charged 4,000 dollars (after insurance) just to have those two things done. don’t ever come to this hospital unless you’re LITERALLY DYING and have no other options.
Extremely rude. Made me feel stupid. I'm a 24 year old male and I'm just starting to get used to adult life and do everything on my own. I called them and they treated me like I'm stupid. Even if my arm was broken and it was an emergency I would refuse to go to this hospital
I called and asked to speak to a Nurse. The lady told me no that they cant give medical advise and to call the primary Doctor. I advised her that there is no primary Doctor and that the last place the patient was seen was at the Highline Facility where they were kept for a weeks time. She firmly told me they can't give medical advice and hung up on me. I find this strange and unprofessional coming from a Public hospital that is there to provide medical care...
I went in cause my lip was swollen and in pain. Doctor said I got into a bar fight and got punched even before I told her what happened, the sent me home. Next day I had more pain. I went in then all of a sudden I had shingles so I start the meds. Still hurt, come to find out I had mrsa... I got from the hospital in the first place. They gave me a Ibuprofen and sent me home. Went back and finally got a doctor who wanted to help. She gave e a iv with anti biotics and cut me open to drain. After 3 doctors I finally got a little help..... But 3 misdiagnosis later.... And I don have insurance so they are gunna rape my wallet. Thanks highlife for nothing.
If your a crack head this is the place for you, these specialist are so conditioned for abusers, that they are blind to the unaddicted. w,hen you come threw the emergency room doors, you are an abuser until proven different. If your sick in the head, or have substance abuse issues, this is the place for you. The first thing I was offered was pain meds when they met me, and a doctors note when I left. My chart says im allergic to codines, hydrocodone, sulphates. They know I don't take stuff, they tested my blood and urine, and still treated me like I was there for a doctors note, or legal crack. Im the boss with great insurance, I told them to keep the note. They never solved my issue, and Ive been sick at home for the long weekend. So they screwed me on my insurance coverage, with no results. This is why I do not go to the doctors unless im really really sick. Take the drive to a real hospital, do not stay local. I put a note on my drivers licence that if emergency services are needed to avoid highline hospital at all costs, including death.
I visited here today. My primary physician sent me here and this place was a joke. Not clean, not friendly, not a sense of compassion. I just moved here and to say the least.. I'm not impressed. Highly do not recommended if you can help it.
Very disappointed in the care my mother is getting. Her room is very cold and they say they can't turn the heat up. She was admitted Thanksgiving day but couldn't get a Turkey dinner even though it was on the daily menu. The adult diapers they have are a one size fits all, which means anyone over 190lbs is going to have to lay there without it being fastened together. They treat her like she's a little old lady who doesn't know what she's talking about. Yet she is smart and sharp as can be. My dad volunteered at high line for twenty years, and at one time we felt the care was very good. But since it was taken over by Fransiscan it is not an impressive facility at all. Mom deserves better.
Adult son to ER for draining of 3 large abcesses 9pm. Treated respectfully by all the staff. Within 10 mins of check-in he was taken back to a room. Total time we were there was about 90 minutes, much less than I expected to be there!
This hospital is a joke!
My 4yr broken arm took child to ER the whole staff was great and understanding with my child. Facility was clean and pretty well ran
Don't Do it!!! You can find better health care from physicians who care elsewhere in Seattle. The ER Drs. as well as practice oriented Drs. do not care. They give you half cocked answers with no legitimacy. They refuse to discuss in detail your test results... and I HAD the Urologist Dr. Reed's office tell me (after dealing with kidney stone issues for an entire weekend and he had all the results already), "sorry... we can't get you in until Friday, you'll just need to do whatever you need to deal with the pain until then --- maybe a hot pack". What a horrible experience. I WILL NEVER use another Dr. affiliated with this organization again. This organization is a TRUE example of what happens when Health Care is treated like a business. I truly believe that this is where the Doctors who are benched on the JV team go to reside. I am from West Virginia and have received 100 times better care than I have here. Turn around... go the extra mile to a downtown hospital. LEAVE... DON'T DO IT.
Very bad patient care, rude call center, staffing is awful with patient care. Lilly in call center have no manners no one can help get an answer for anything takes hours just to get test results I rather die than go to Highline horrible horrible patient care
SHAME ON YOU HIGHLINE. I have verbal and written confirmation I HAVE NEVER MISSED A PAYMENT. In the last year I have paid you over 30K. Now becasue I can't pay you the last $999 at once you send me to collections, and I HAVE NEVER MISSED A PAYMENT. Taking me, my elderly parents, and every family/friends I can to SWEDISH. They appreciate my money every month, unlike you. You have obviously become a giant Franciscan conglomerate that doesn't appreciate life long patience anymore.
I broke my ribs went emergency got $ 3.000 bill and they send my bill to collection still payin for it for 30 minutes there next time I will die home
I was treated very well by the excellent staff and received great care. I have gone to other organizations and I was treated like a number. I felt the staff really cared. I would highly recommend Highline Medical Center
The ER staff need to go back and reflect on what it means to be a healthcare worker. I can't believe the attitude these nurses and doctors have. I honestly feel bad for them that they all seem so miserable. I'm so thankful for the proper training and education I received in nursing school because I would never treat my patients like they do. They were honestly annoyed anytime we spoke to them about anything. Just completely disgraceful to their profession. The ER manager Steve, only made excuses and was argumentative. Instead of taking a great opportunity to do something productive, he actually argued saying "all the bad reviews on here and on yelp are over a year old". Either he has no clue how his customers feel or he doesn't actually care. The reviews on every media platform speak for themselves Steve. Take your loved ones elsewhere, this is not a choice I recommend to anyone. Highline Medical Center needs to completely replace management and directors if they want to come back from this death spiral, at the very least you could start my listening to your well informed customers. Just a thought.
I went this hospital about 9 months ago, i went there just for fever&cough. I waited for 5 hours just for 30minutes listening bullshit from doctor. And there were only 5 patient waiting for doctor. And they charge me $2000! I told to doctor if it is overcharged or not. But they just ignored me. I strongly dont suggest to go to this hospital for your health&finance.
Short version... Do not go, especially if your a tourist or have any complicated medical history Had a friend drop me off because i was in so much pain i was shaking and I had been throwing up.. ER doc adamently refused any pain meds for the first 3 hours, X ray showed some sort of blockage or spasming but the ER doc refused to say it was stone yet ordered a CT scan anyway, before which she gave me tramadol. Ct scan comes back doc wants to an ultrasound where it hurts to even touch... The ultrasound Tech attempted the procedure, I was in too much pain i couldnt undergo it, rather than try to come to a consensus after hearing this the ER physician just discharges me still walking out shaking from the pain... and gives me instructions based on previous medical history of abdominal pain, rather than even specific instructions for groin or testicular pain and what i could do if for some reason it was a kidney stone that couldnt be seen ( which i do have a history of and have told them this) the instructions were to follow up with my doc three hours away.... tomorrow... so ya so much for trying to enjoy time in Seattle! I can see why Highline physicians are having trouble getting support....
They have regularly gotten codes for insurance purposes wrong and fighting it is impossible. These people dont know what they are doing here.
Filthy unclean and unprofessional
First, the nurse wanted to weigh me with all my clothes on - I mean my heavy boots and my coat with keys, phone, wallet, etc. in pocket. When I questioned her about this, she replied with "well, you can take your coat off if you want." This was for a routine military exam, which means accurate weight is very important. Then, she took my blood pressure with my arms dangling straight down and could not figure out why the results were not as they should have been. I've had no medical training, but I any pharmacy blood pressure machine has the arm placed horizontally probably for good reason. She was training someone else during my appointment. The doctor seemed ok, but he was not involved with the exam. He did the closing consultation. The front desk was inattentive. I had a long wait afterwards for my ride and saw there should be open WiFi in the building. I went to ask if there was the guest network and the password. The receptionist replied that she thought there was but didn't know the password. Zero attempt to find out. Patients were pressured on the phone and after current appointments to make follow-up appointments way in advance. Note this review only applies to Highline Imaging not to the entire medical center.
Been trying to sort out a 'missing payment' for months. I sent copies of all cleared checks (including the one they said they did not receive) and was told a supervisor would be in touch. Weeks later and nothing, so I call again. They tell me these things take time and to call back in 2 weeks if I have not heard anything (all the while assuring me my acct was on hold). 2 weeks later I call back and they tell me the same thing again. I have called about 5 or 6 times now hoping to get this sorted and no response. I just called again today and they told me it had been sent to collections! After calling and calling and being told to wait and that my account was on hold, they sent it to collections. I will never set foot in another CHI Franciscan establishment again. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else
OMG why did I not read these reviews before coming here.I was trapped in this E.R while they were not even busy. E.R staff were unfriendly. and yes the billing people were also oblivious. They were like interns who acting like they knew everything
I don't know where all the negative reviews are coming from, if they were different in the past but last night they were absolutely fantastic. Came in at like 2am and they were all extremely helpful.
Easily the worst ER ever, even worse than harborview. I went in for a brain injury I sustained. The doctor I saw accused me of using drugs(!) which I absolutely was not. They told me to just go home without treatment. My partner found me face down in the parking lot. When she went in to scream at the staff, they lied to her and told them that I was doing fine and I was just being dramatic. It's now 3 months on and I'm still suffering every day. They should all have their licenses revoked!!
Don’t go here. I admit to being largely ignorant of the medical field, but asking for help when you need it shouldn’t be so difficult, and the whole process here leaves me feeling angry and taken advantage of. After attempting to have my issue taken care of at an urgent care, they informed me that they didn’t have the capability of diagnosing or treating abdominal pain, and I should go to an ER. I came to this one on a friend’s recommendation. From the receptionist checking me in, to the med tech who performed triage, to the nurse who much later saw me - I said “I am here due to intermittent severe pain in my abdominal wall, I see that there are a lot of people needing treatment, and I’m not sure if this is an emergency - can you please put me in contact with a doctor that I can make an appointment with”. The young receptionist didn’t know how to answer and said talk to triage.. The triage tech’s canned response, during our 3 minute conversation was “If you don’t want to be treated here, you can leave” to every attempt at gaining logical help in who to talk to about getting my issue treated, while not involving an overloaded ER. More than 7 hours later a nurse took my blood for a blood panel (5 minutes) the doctor poked at my stomach with her finger and talked (10 minutes) and they x-rayed my abdomen (5 minutes) they did not give any medicine except to say I should pick up extra strength ibuprofen. They confirmed that they did indeed take my insurance - and sent me on my way. Several days later I get the bill showing that they billed my insurance company almost $4,000 ($2700 of which was just for the time of the people involved). It also said that I was responsible to pay 50% of it. I don’t care if every person you hire graduated Harvard, and take baths in liquid gold before treating each patient - none of the individuals there should be billing over $100/minute. And in what other industry can you sit and talk with a competent potential client without providing them an estimated cost of services, then surprise them with a bill for thousands of dollars?? It seems like we need a “truth in medicine act” just like what happened for the mortgage lenders. This is the closest emergency room to my home, when something serious does happen - I will be insisting on going elsewhere.
They never have enough staff to check you in and the checking in process is terrible. They register you on the phone and then ask the same questions again!
Just don't go there for any reason. All the good doctors that were at Highline (now Franciscan) all went to Swedish.
Rude operators on phone!
Even if you have tragically lost limbs.... crawl to the nearest drugstore, that would be more helpful. The ER staff makes the supposition everyone wailing in the waiting room has a appointment, Somehow they miss the whole concept of emergency. The vacant eyed workers at the front desk should do walk ins as movie extra's for Zombie Hospital. You are better off at a urgent care clinic- they seem to get the 'care' part .A 7 hour wait seems excessive when the entire waiting room is empty . If your insurance is covered for this hospital switch it fast
My three experiences in two months of course is tainted by my being just operated on so here goes: First time was after a bad two story fall where I blew up my knee. Nothing felt good, but the people were the best! Second time was after a 12 hour operation, again nothing felt good, they need better laundry sheets, they are so rough they hurt after three days in Operation recovery. The staff was the best! The third time a minor adjustment operation three weeks later was the best of all. They mostly left me alone, with my one sweet visitor. Love the people at your hospital, change the sheets! PS: Calling in your own meal is OK if you could talk to a real person, thanks. Most of the food was wonderful, but of course I am a bachelor so all food anyone cooks for me is awesome. Cheers Mate!
Not the best place, Staff pretty rude! Please don't take that risk.
I came from out of town and unfortunately got too sick for a walk in clinic and I already have chronic health issues on top of the 2 I was there for and they were great. I checked in and they gave me the paperwork for my insurance company after they put me in line to be seen. It was around 12:30 in the afternoon and they had me in triage and into a room within 20 minutes. First the nurse came in and I explained what was happening and I knew that I probably should have been admitted but told them I was flying home early the next morning and to just do what they could to make me comfortable and ready for 4 hours on a plane. That is exactly what they did. They took care of my pain and my GI issues enough so that I was able to go back to my hotel and sleep until I had to get up to leave for the airport. They also told me that I needed at least 3 specialists to help me when I arrived home which I pretty much knew. But it was nice that they made sure that I knew what needed to happen when I arrived home. The facility was clean and bright. Not run down at all. The only thing that I was just a tiny bit put off by was when I needed to ask my nurse to ask my doctor a question, the nurse that answered told me that since I wasn't her patient, she only picked up the phone because she thought it was an emergency, which was good, but said she couldn't ask my doc that question and never offered to send my nurse in so I could ask her what I needed to ask. But that was probably a minor oversight on her part or they only answered call buttons if you are dying. I've just never heard of that. They were getting ready to discharge me so my doctor had come, said goodbye and that I would be leaving with a script, but I was given 3 and wanted to make sure they didn't interact with other meds or that it was something I was allergic to because while I told them my medication allergies, I never was given a red band for the staff to see and ask what my allergies were. But I was assured they were listed 3 times in my profile and the doctor was well aware and none of the scripts had the agent I was allergic to and stayed away from that.this was a good ER. I didn't get to experience a stay there but who wants to stay in a hospital if they don't really have to?
the worst hospitals don't know why have emergency services if they wait hours the nurse services is garbage
I love their Family Childbirth Center!!! All of the providers and nurses are AMAZING!!! Knowledgeable, Caring, and Professional. 4 STARS!!!
This how Highline emergency team responded to a mother and her 3 children all under 12 years old, who was brought in by ambulance after they met a serious car accident, and they made them wait wait for 40+ minutes. And after a concern was shown and asked why, this is how they responded. “Leave”. Unbelievable
Came in after i was hit and run 2 years ago this month, midday during middle of the week as it messed my back up. It was not busy and i have good insurance. Came directly from the accident to er (had a ride, no ambulance) as i could hardly walk and it was only getting worse. Now i am not a guy that normally goes to the er, i had a 3 inch spiral fracture in my right hand that swelled like mickey mouses' hand a few years earlier and that took me a week before i saw my doc. My mother was who i could get ahold of to pick me up from the accident and as soon as she saw me try to walk she took me directly to the er. I didn't have a choice..lol moms...the police officer who showed up also told me he would make a note on his report because he could tell from me walking that i wasnt right... Fast forward to the er. I get checked in fine and everything actually was going pretty well until i got in to see the actual "doctor". She comes in when I'm already sitting on the bed. She proceeds to preform what i felt like was a very half assed evaluation. She felt my back/spine (not very thoroughly mind you) asked like two questions and said i was fine. I really felt like she didn't believe me, and I'd told her i don't want pain pills as they just make me sick so it obviously wasnt a cry for pills. She wouldn't even order an mri or cat scan even though i literally came straight from a car accident barely able to walk lol. I thought it was a little crazy but hey, she's the doctor not me.... fast forward 2 years and my back (l4 and l5 mainly ) is much worse and its affecting my left hip and shoulder too. I am thinking of aquiring legal counsel as i settled with my insurance company on the basis that i was okay which i obviously wasn't and the doctor was negligent in her care. A simple scan would have shown the damage, but instead for almost 2 years I've continued to damage my body under the assumption that i wasnt hurt... and you don't even want to know what they billed my insurance company for all this "care"..
My dad just got out of this prison this morning, after being tied down like a crazy person just for asking to leave. When he first got there in the ER they ran test and told me he had a heart attack. A few days later when he was still there in the intensive care unit we found out that there was an error and he never had one. It took forever to get discharged. Every time he asked to leave they sedated him to the point where he could not think straight and had no choice but to fall back asleep. For guests that are staying the night, be prepared for no sleep due to the uncomfortable chairs that are given to you and hard blankets. I ended up sleeping on the ground for a couple nights on some very uncomfortable blankets
It's 10:13 am been here since 8 in the moring with My 2 year old daughter that has an ear infection. I'm seeing people walk in an leave that I was here way before. Find it funny/crazy how the only two black families that's in the lobby are the last two to be called.
My experience at Highline was top notch. I cannot speak highly enough of the front desk staff, nurses and doctors who took care of me during my visit. Thank you for the attentive care.
This place is garbage dont go here
Traumatizing experience yesterday because of one awful nurse in Emergency Room. She was trying to put in an IV line and it was really hurting so I asked her to stop and take the needle out. She said it couldn't be hurting me. She would not remove the needle, and continued digging and putting vacuum on a nerve or something, willfully disregarding my repeated requests. Earlier, I had asked for some thing to cover my eyes as the lights were bright and she plunked a fully folded ER blanket over my eyes, nose, and mouth. What kind of person does that? This was trauma-triggering. She seemed completely disconnected to the realities of patient care. I asked to see her Supervisor, so she decided to shift the narrative. I heard her say outside the curtained exam room that I was threatening. I had only become panicked and vocal about her not hurting me and respecting my rightful request that she terminate the IV placement immediately. Thank goodness the Supervising Floor Nurse came and listened. Unfortunately, I did not receive the care I had been brought there to receive, leaving because of an unnecessarily triggered PTSD trauma response. I do not recommend anyone be subjected to this type of treatment from a self-described "expert and long-employed" nurse. I hope someone at Highline Hospital reads this and responds.
Nurses were BEYOND rude to my mom when she was just simply in a lot of pain and had no idea what was going on. They told her friend to walk out at some point. She came home with no medication for her broken arm and they never seemed to check her tailbone which we went to a different hospital and they said it was broken. I’ve never left a review in my life and I’m simply leaving this cause this is absolutely 100% not okay.
I am writing this review from a hospital bed in the hospital. Hence the secrecy in identity. The nursing staff I have dealt with so far have been friendly and helpful, except for a few . The doctors, on the other hand, have been rude, secretive, and unprofessional. They will not spend more than 2 minutes speaking to the patient. Unfortunately, I have another day of being trapped here. I will NEVER return to this hospital. Had I been able to drive myself, I would not have come her in the first place.
My mother was in Regional for the better part of 5 months after a heart valve replacement surgery. At the 19th week, after fighting constant set-backs including pneumonia, respiratory failures, etc., she decided "enough-was-enough" and asked to be taken off support. Nurse Dorothy --who shares my mom's name -- was gentle, caring and informative of the next steps. First they gave her a cocktail of Fentanyl and Lorazapam. Next, when she was peacefully at ease and sleeping, the respiratory nurse came in and over the next hour slowly weaned her off the ventilator. At this point, although erratically, mom was breathing on her own. About an hour later a technician turned off her pace maker.Over the next 30 minutes we watched her skin tone fade to a grey pallor then she took one last breath. My father, brother and I at her side. During the entire five hour period Dorothy her intern and several doctors came in often to make sure we were comfortable. I cannot tell you how important that meant to my family. It was with love and deep respect for the patient and family that the staff wanted my moms death to be humane, pain-free and dignified. I was blessed to have such a beautiful and caring mom. I'm extremely thankful to the staff at Regional. Love/Peace Eric Miller
i love this place because I was born there
