I barely survived Child Study Torture Chamber 28 years ago. Don't be fooled that your child will receive help. It's just a place to house children.

“There is no further therapeutic value in him being here.” Said two weeks after my son punched a staff member in the back of his head and also carved satanic symbols in his arm that remain there to this day. His therapist dropped all contact with him and left us with excuses as to why. A month after discharge when he was supposed to be fixing the issue, he did it to me. Things started positive and stayed that way for a long time, and when they decided they were done with their study we were treated like a number on a docket with zero worth or value. Even the management above these people don’t take their actions seriously. They will try to assure you that they do but they don’t. I should have just let a lawyer handle it instead of fooling myself into thinking his therapist gave a damn.

Child Study & Treatment Center (CSTC) has its pros and cons, a pro is it has SOME really good staff that care for kids on both a professional and Personal level and are willing to do the right thing to help kids get better. A con is the overall program and policies are very unclear and confusing to both the kids and outside legal agencies. CSTC has been under numerous investigations for physical/mental abuse to children.There are some amazing Doctors (don’t get me worng) but just because they are good doesn’t mean that an unclear program and how some staff deal with the patients is right. I think CSTC could be an amazing treatment facility if they worked hard to make a more clear and regulated Program and policies. - josh johnston 2/26/2018

This is what made me me!!! I love cstc. All the staff are amazing!!! There were always those times where it sucked sure, but that's life. I ment some people that I love to death and would die for! This place really did help me!! I was here for 1 year 13 days it was hell!!! But a good hell!! Ketron cottage is my family! I will never forget any of you guys I met! Ik lots of the staff that where there when I was aren't there...

I spent 2 long years in this place the staff at the time I can say only 3 were trust worthy I constantly challenged the staff Dr. John and security, my stay was enjoyable I was beaten by some other kids and I in turn fought back, I learned self control in there I guess I'm thankful the food there was decent enough depending on who the cook was, in orcas cottage... (I think I spelled it right) was where I stayed there was C.A.P. (close attention program) and G.P. (general population) (I... I'm not sure what else to say) goodbye and a thank you to a (Dr. John Kuniyoshi) for all your help

This place taught me right from wrong on day one. Did not feel like I was ever forgotten. Staff had their hand full in each cabin, different people needed help in all sorts of ways. I never felt threatened or ever had a problem a councelor could not help me on. spent from july of 1988 to November 1989 here. Had teenage problems that over time have since healed. Thank you staff bless you.

Hated it and liked it but I know that it was one of my worst nightmares to this day I have to take PTSD meds for memories and this place is definitely one of many places that I have in my head that was bad but very little good memories were here to. it been eleven and a half years almost twelve
