My wife and I were traveling on I-77 when I started experiencing chest pains. We used Google and the highway signs to find the facility. The staff admitted me to the ER and took very good care of me. Thank God for this facility and the friend and helpful staff. They were amazing to me and my family.

I was completely ignored when I told the doctor man and nurses about my back pains they were only concerned about getting my vomiting under control and getting me out of there. Poor excuse for a hospital

Waited 5 hours as they had to transfer my fiance to a different hospital because both of their surgeons are on vacation together. The nurses couldn't even bother to inform me the medication that they were giving him till after I had to ask two different people. I will never bring my family to this hospital again.

This place is a damn JOKE my wife has had a headache for 2 weeks so we come to this er for some relief didn't see a real Dr it was a nurse practitioner my wife was asked what dr usually does at our hospital where we live and she told her what was done she tells my wife well i aint doing that ill give iv imatrex and benadryl REALLY wife told her 3 times that DON'T HELP we left and will never go back to this joke of a er why poke my wife with NEEDLES for things that DON'T HELP HER this place ain't worth a tip of a star but cant do that only reason IT 1 star

The wait here is absolutely ridiculous to get a simple kub takes up to 3 hours and that's with no one else waiting I mean really what r they doing back there.highly recommend the food it is great but better to go elsewhere if you need medical attention cuz they r in no hurry to attend ur needs

We live three hours away in another state. Our teenage son was in an auto accident and this was the hospital he was transported to. The staff took excellent care of him and stayed in touch with us until we could get to the hospital to be with him. We found the nurses and Dr's. to be competent, empathetic and efficient. The hospital itself is clean and well maintained.

Smyth County Community Hospital is like the roach motels made by raid, people check in but they don't check out. On a serious note my father was in an accident and when I heard the news it was roughly 3 hours later he did not receive any care and was not given a room. They put him on a gurney near the automatic opening doors and cold gusts of wind hit him every time. He was in serious pain and had large amounts of swelling and bruising in the abdomen and neck. The reason he wasn't given a room was because the rooms were, "full". I left and took him to another hospital. When we arrived at the other hospital he received medical attention immediately. He had sustained 7 broken ribs, a broken collar bone, and a dislocated shoulder. Going to this hospital is a matter of life and death. If it all possible you and your loved ones should go to another hospital to get the care and help you need because you will not get it at Smyth County Community Hospital.

I went to the ER in March with a complaint of a parasite. The dr did not assess me at all. I stayed in street clothes, and was not admitted by a nurse. I later found out via medical records, the assessment was put in by the nurse and dr without even speaking to me. I received no care. I finally went to a another Dr who assessed me with a skin scraping and blood work , esonophils and a stool culture. . I am now undergoing treatment for my ecto parasites They called in Mount Rogers , Valerie, a complete joke. They called her because I was having delusions that I had a parasite. Bryan Henley was the Dr and Jennifer Moore was the nurse. . Never go to this hospital. It is a joke. Drive to Roanoke , or Bristol, but avoid this hospital at ALL costs.What happened to me was a nightmare. I am now on a mission to make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else.

I'm camping nearby far from home and needed emergency care. I arrived and was immediately taken in and cared for. They got the pain under control while we waited for test results. Every single person I encountered from reception to nurses to the dr were all caring, understanding and dedicated to get me feeling better as soon as possible. Based on the reviews here I was worried, but they really deserve 5 stars. Thank you!!
