Always fabulous before. Great docs! Great staff! Calm, efficient, warm, reassuring. This last time was different. Took in child with possible concussion. Doc seemed remote and unconcerned, and she was unaware of history of two prior concussions and loss of consciousness in precipitating accident. She did not perform several of the usual concussion tests, only an MRI (possibly useful, not necessarily diagnostic).

I went to the ER just before Halloween with belly pain. They were amazing. My hats are off to the many staff, the quick and excellent care by doctors and nurses alike, the facility itself, the access to various diagnostic machines, the post-ER instructions and even the "hand-out" describing what was wrong with me. I was impressed and very pleased with MY local ER. I have now completed surgery to correct my problem and that was excellent too. hank you.

Just had a great experience in the Sibley ER. Virtually no waiting time and had a procedure done by the on-call in-house surgeon. We were in and out within three hours.

Have been waiting for two and a half hours!! Gives a new meaning to the word ‘energency’!

Today I had minor surgery and the experience was outstanding. In addition to my wonderful surgeon Dr. John Starr, and the nurses were efficient, friendly and very supportive. Anesthesiologist, Norda Leon-Strong was the best. She spent quality time with me before the surgery, answered all my questions and then gave me just enough to keep me pain free without any uncomfortable after affects. Thank you all. MaryAnn Miller

I was referred to this ER by my primary care with suspected pneumonia, with the request to get a chest x ray. Although check in was very fast, from that point it was all bad. No one came over to introduce themselves, tell me the plan of care or even ask about symptoms or treatments that were given by my primary care earlier. A nice guy came to take me for a chest x ray when on the way there a lady (im assuming either a doctor or a nurse practionar) yelled from another room "he's taking you for a chest x ray to see about that pneumonia". Now, first, i have no idea who you are lady. Second, have you heard about HIPPA? You just told half of the ER what i was there for. Where is my privacy? Lastly, after i came back from the chest x ray that same lady walked in to the room and immediately seated examining me. No introduction, no explanation. As a medical professional myself i can tell that when checking someone's lungs you need to check 7 spots on the back, 2 spots on the sides and 6 spots in the front to make sure you have examined every lobe. She chalked two points on my back. That is it. That is when i stopped her and said that i have no idea who she is, no idea what she's doing.

Couldn't have asked for a better staff for my surgery. Every single person I dealt with was extremely friendly and made me feel 100% comfortable. I was brought into the ER within 2 minutes of checking in - I won't go anywhere else for care if needed.

This is one of the best ER's I have been to. I totally trust them with our emergency care. The staff is great and the ER doctors very warm and caring.

Fantastic ER service! Professional, courteous staff. Quick through triage and to see the docs (I saw four, one of whom drove in from home). Facilities are modern and quiet. Good privacy. Good food. Nurses were lovely people. One ER nurse even brought my wife dinner. I can't thank him and the staff enough for helping us. Thank you!

Had an amazing experience. I was able to get in and out, everyone was very courteous and didn’t treat you like it was an inconvenience for you to be there. From the greeter desk to the doctor it was a great experience for me. This will now be my go to hospital when I need immediate attention. I also liked the fact the doctor gave me options and didn’t just tell me what I should do. The finishing touches of the letter, a folder and little resource flyers was also greatly appreciated.

Great ER, have been twice. Once with my 5yo and once with my wife. Both times they were taken care of professionally, patiently and quickly. Highly recommend it.

Was seen immediately and treated with respect and kindness. Highly recommend this ER.

The ER room is a death trap and a disgrace to the medical profession. Avoid at all costs. Go to another ER. Can't be worse. I went to be rehydrated because my doctor told me as a result of having had stomach virus that I had recovered from and had no fever. but some ill-trained, incompetent masochistic nurse decided to make me wait 3 hours, although I registered on line where it promised out in 30 minutes, for a bed to make me an inpatient to get sicker, since everyone in ER was coughing, feverish, contagious and it was unsanitary. after 1.5 hours I asked for some water, recall I was dehydrated, and this masochistic nurse refused me a glass of water! I demanded to get permission from another nurse who was better trained. Only after waiting 3 hours when I was getting sicker and was walking out the door, suddenly a doctor was available and they physically prevented me from leaving, fearing malpractice and wanting to collect an absurd amount of money for a simple rehydration. The doctor immediately agreed that nurse overstepped the her authority, was incompetent and initially being refused a water was an abomination. They received hundreds of dollars from my insurance but on principle and to call attention to such incompetent and unsatisfactory service refuse to pay the $90 that I owed and wrote to the president of Sibley explaining why, along with the accounting office. The wasted no time to send a collection agency to whom I am sending this same response. I pay all legitimate bills for service rendered. Their treatment and service was unconscionable and does not deserved additional payment from me, especially since the president asked me for donations besides. This ER room should be shut down until properly trained staff knows their job and not render treatment bordering malpractice.

I went in recently for an emergency. The nurses and doctors were fabulous and truly took the time to make sure my friend and I were comfortable. I have a more rare disease that takes special treatment and everyone was familiar with it which was incredible. Highly recommend.

I was born in Sibley Hospital in 1942 -- at the old building in NE DC. Since then, I have watched Sibley grow to one of the finest hospitals in the entire DC area. It moved to its present location in 1963, and has continued to expand. Today it has a beautiful new state-of-the-art building, a large medical offices facility, and is adding yet another special building for treatment of those needing radiation, etc. for cancer. The care given to those I know who have needed it is second to none. The newborn-baby center is fabulous, with its loving and complete care for healthy babies and those with special needs. I highly recommend Sibley Hospital for anyone of any age desiring the best care possible!

Terrible ER service!!! Complete disregard for my health, chalked it up to pneumonia and discharged into the cold in the middle of the night. Awful

Today, I came to the emergency room with a terrible throat infection. Though I knew what the problem was, the medication given before hand by another doctor was not strong enough. Not only did I have practically no wait in the emergency room, but the staff moved swiftly ad efficiently; while still being caring and compassionate. I was seen by Dr. Coleman, and my nurse was Susanne, I also had blood drawn by a nurse named Isobel. They gave me exactly what I needed and guided me every step of the way. They all did a wonderful job! I highly recommend this hospital for emergency care. The John Hopkins medical system is also very impressive and worth your while if you are seeking quality medical care. All around 5 stars! Hopefully I will not be back soon, but in case I do need immediate or serious medical care, this is where I will be going.
