When you have something going on and you need to get in quickly, so you call to ask if they're busy, so you know which hospital to go to. They were the only hospital who could not tell me if they were busy. Very unfortunate that they don't train the people who answer the phone so open your eyes and look around. Myself oh, I know the importance I'm not going numb to your profession maybe they need to do some ethics training.

What I think is weird it's getting to the hospital at 11:06 a.m. waiting over an hour to get called to the back to be seen and still at the hospital waiting to see the doctor with a kid who's got a fever over a 103.1 and has a really bad cough and it's not busy! Well someone just came in but turned around and left after checking lil man for like 2 seconds with out saying anything! I just got one of the nurses to come check his temperature again and his fever has went up. We asked when the doctor will be here and she said that she would check and still nothing being done.

Didn't even want to give 1 star! This place is beyond ridiculous and I will never recommend this place to nobody not even for a common cold! I've watched people in extreme pain ( me being one of them) pushed to the side to save a raging meth addict and make he/she comfortable! I am at a loss for words considering I have been here 4 hours passing blood and in excruciating pain with a kidney stone and have still not seen a doctor or received so much as a Tylenol for the pain! I was taken out of a room with a bed and put into the room where they put prisoners with no bed a hard cold chair and no call bell! Needless to say this will be my last trip to Bedford hospital and my opinion of this place is beyond ridiculous! If u want to die by all means come to Bedford hospital unless u are a drug addict and they will do everything they can to save u then!

Out of the ten times in one year that I was there. I had to be in their rehab at Christmas time. There was singing of children in the hallway. They were passing out Christmas bags. This was such a treat. I have always had great nurses. Thank you Niki Frederick

I like Bedford hospital. I drive 30 miles just to come to this hospital. The wait has always been minimal. Drs, and nurses have always been polite. Unlike Lynchburg general. Where the wait is as long as a mini vacation. Great hospital!!

Sometimes you have to wait 45 min to see doctor then another 2 hrs to get discharged this is with blood work Without blood work it's still about the same but you see doc in about 10-15 mins

They can handle small issues, but for major issues, Roanoke or Lynchburg are your best bet.

At approx. 5:10 pm today I drove my husband, Norman to the Bedford ER. He was suffering severe abdominal pain which appeared to be spasms caused by 3 days of constipation. Someone did come outside the door with a wheelchair to take him inside while I parked. The young man at the admitting desk was very helpful. He brought up all my husband's records, issued him a wristband and said to wait in the waiting area until someone came for him. So far so good. After waiting approx. 10 mins. (1 other patient was waiting) Norman experienced severe pain from spasms. I went to the desk and asked if there was some place he could lie down as that was the only way he got relief. I was told there was no place for him to lie down. A hospital ER without a gurney or bed in sight? I waited a few more minutes and he was still in pain. I went and asked if there was a gurney he could lie on. Answer "No". "Sorry". By this time Norman asked me to take him home where he could get into a prone position. On the way out, a nurse (I thought) appeared and I asked her if he could lie down somewhere or we would have to leave. She stated she was from X-ray and couldn't help. We left and I brought him home and into bed. I called back to the hospital to talk to Shift Nurse. Was told she was out of her office but to leave message and she would call me back. That was 2 hours ago. No call. It is currently 7:45 pm. No sense putting Norman thru another ride to the ER until I know they have some gurneys or beds at the facility. We have not had to use this facility but we were excited with all the apparent improvements. We must have expected too much. Virginia Fowler.

They provide good care nurses and doctors had no problems with any results going in to see doctors

Our visit recently to Bedford Virginia's Hospital ER, was extremely disappointing. My daughter had heart attack /stroke symptoms and just because she is "only 36 YO, the hospital nursing staff was more concerned that maybe drug use was the cause for her symptoms. My daughter does not nor has she ever taken illegal drugs, and rarely does she need OTC meds. IF they had asked about her family history, they would have learned that heart disease runs in our family. My suggestions to them are to TREAT EVERY PATIENT AS AN INDIVIDUAL AND TAKE NECESSARY STEPS TO TREAT SYMPTOMS ACCORDING TO PROPER TESTS REQUIRED (blood work wasn't even ordered by physician on call), AND TO NOT BASE THEIR OWN ASSUMPTIONS AS CAUSE OF SYMPTOMS!!! Her situation has YET to be REMEDIED!!!
