Always feels safe and a professional atmosphere.

Rest assured that my experience today will not go unnoticed. I pride myself in writing reviews and this is going to be lengthy one. I'm going to make sure everyone from here to timbuktu know what a horrible service I received. Worst nurse ever!!! Her name was Kara. I was there the whole day and she didn't even come into the room to offer me a drink. Surgery was done hours ago. I asked for pain medication and she said that once my ride got here that I would be able to get my prescription. I could hear here yapping away all those hours outside my room with another worker. And I also heard her on several occasions in other patient rooms offering different types of beverages. What she did do was come in, told me to get up by myself, and go call my ride to come and get me. I felt that she just wanted me to get out of there. She did not want to tend to me. This my friends, is discrimination! I can guarantee you that I will go up the ladder until my voice is heard. Completely unacceptable. Didn't help me walk to the bathroom, or get dressed. Didn't even come in to check up on me every once in a while to make sure I was OK. My call light was far away, I had horrible pain to move and my phone was dead so I couldn't even tell anyone. Just wow.... Honestly, if you're going to talk bad about a patient with another coworker and talk about the person that will be picking them up, you should make sure that I really am asleep. Just cause you talk from a different area doesn't mean I can't still hear you.

I have had multiple visits to MFM, an appointment at the breast center, and visited friends who have delivered here. There has never been any sense of urgency and it's so frustrating. Lack of communication between all personnel and outside doctors. Everyone seems confused every time I'm there. Nice facility and very clean, but the lack of urgency and unapologetic staff makes me never want to have to go back.

Spent hours in Emergency with my elderly mother...the staff was very helpful and nice. Totally like this hospital

They are a little over the top with their pain killer withholding, because of the opidemic I suppose. Some of the new nurses are just inconsiderate and should not be in the nursing industry. They did take semi-good care of my mom when she had pancreatitis though. And my grandma worked here for many years as a nurse and she loved it, so it's by no means a bad hospital. The food in the cafeteria is pretty great, and there is a stellar view.

Came in with suspected appendicitis about 6pm. Was quickly directed to an ER room and visited by ER doc Barnes, who confirmed the diagnosis. In the ER was expertlty attended by nurses Darren and Steven, and had blood work done by Paul. Was amazed at how well all the staff communicated with each other. The hospital pharmacist even popped in to ask if i might like some pain meds. Had a cat scan administered by technician Travis who made me feel at home in his dark room with big machines. Surgery at about midnight by Drs Nolan, Buchanan, and anesthesiologist Provo(?). While being wheeled in, was given the news by nurse Jeff that my blood sugar was high, and possible repercussions. He took down my wife's phone number, and had Dr Nolan give my wife a call to report about how the surgery went. After surgery, i was attended by nurses Heather, Jamie, Jen and Chandra, all with great care, good knowledge and good humor. To use a crude March madness analogy, i felt like a basketball being expertly passed from player to player, until, in the end, we scored. What teamwork! Thanks my friends for your loving care.

Kami Denny

Thank you to Lisa and Dr. Thackeray for delivery my sweet baby. They encouraged me the whole way through and I couldn’t be more grateful for this staff’

The best staff at IMC 9th floor Oncology the Doctors, Nurses, CNAs, and housekeeping all did an amazing job the weeks we were there for our family member. I Highly recommend IMC for your family care they are the best! Thank you IMC Oncology team!

Amanda Abbott

Had surgery in April, initial payment made in May while my insurance was still working out the balance I owed between Lakeview and LDS for my surgery. IHC sent me to collections in August.

Jon Butler

I went to the emergency center with my daughter - the care there was exceptional

We were there for 4 days with my grandma that had a major medical problem. Not one time did we ever have a Dr come in and talk to us about her. We asked multiple times over the 4 days we were there and we never spoke to a Doctor. The did a horrible job and keeping our family informed of what was going on. By far the worst experience I have ever had at this hospital. Not to mention the ER is a joke!! They are so unorganized. The Dr and Nurses do not communicate with each other and I am pretty sure the Dr we did see, had a nurse come in after she had been in the room less then 5 minutes and interrupt her because she didn’t want to talk to us and make up a lame excuse to get her out of the room. Poor poor patient care. I could go on and on about our experience. It was just horrible!!!

Vernon Jemmott

I got very good care when in hospital

Amanda Tsipai

This hospital is amazing! Before my family member was transferred here he was going downhill fast. But before he even got there they were ready to start treatment. The doctors and nurses are very friendly, informative and attentive. Seriously awesome.

Shuhrat Popal

One ER visit for food poisoning about $2000. Just some IV and blood test that is all. This is unbelievable. I do not recommend this place.

Stefan Prime

When was there they acted fast ruled out all the other cases that I could of had the doctor that did my spinal tap did a great job and the nurologist was clear and didn't sugar coat anything everything that they thought got told to me and my family. They even went out of their way to get me into the best nurologist office in Utah. Great visit to make getting diagnosed with multiple sclerosis a lot easier.

3 years ago my sister used her last bit of strength to pushed her baby who was wedge in her cervix for 2 hours. she waited 2 hours with no nurse or doctors in site. my brother in law and his mother were there calling for help looking around and waiting. the inept doctors and nurses who don't care about the lives of people unfortunately still work there. they made excuses to all that happen to her baby afterwards was going to happen anyways. my sister could have sued these doctors for malpractice, her baby was in the NICU for 2 weeks because he drank and breathed the liquid, he was a sickly baby for a while. In this country 700 women die due to bad medical procedures and not good enough attention and 50.000 women suffer from complications due to mal practice.... The doctors told my sister that she was not important because she was a first time mom...….. what could be more important! when you have no experience giving birth. These people were horrible, It's a miracle my sister and her baby are alive.... I am sure these people excuse themselves and hide their doing but God sees it all. and someday You will pay for what you do to people.

Paul Owen

I like the people they hire, I like the way i am treated here. 5 stars!

tim davis

It really sucks when you take your brother in for a 10:45 appointment for a colonoscopy, well at 1250 he is called back. They say it will only take 30 minutes. I told him he should have gone to St Marks so much better and the people are so much nicer and theythey you in on time. What is the use of an appointment when they run 2 1/2 hrs late.

Octane Guru

I'll die before I ever go to an Intermountain facility again. Worst experience of my life. I am so disappointed that I live in a time where a healthcare system can be so broken. I feel like I have been robbed and there is nothing I can do about it other than write a review.

My mom has Dr appointments at a building at this location. I am harassed by parking security I noticed that the water was running constantly in the woman's restroom. I called and the lady on the phone couldn't care less. They waste water because they make millions off the backs of poor people. This isn't the first time. My mom almost fell walking in because they don't put Salt on the icy walks. They step over dollars to pick up pennies.

I had certainly this morning on my ear and have to give kudos to the out patient Surgical center I hope this is how you spell their names and I hope they get to read this. Brok The anesthesiologist just Tiffany and the other lady that was helping her the one that kept on I on Computer Lisa who was in the recovery Room The Tech that run my pills to me so I would get my 1 year old home fast 3 hours is long for her to waite . I felt so loved and not like a number because the see so many people I just another thank you so much from this mom I wish everytime I have to go to hospital you guy will be the face I see that have my back I'm glad I got people who love there jobs and show it .... Cant thank you enough.

Justin Christensen

I hurt my back and im laying here and it's getting worse so i hit the nurse button to get the medication he said he would give me a half hour ago. Well i pushed that button and nobody has answered me in 20 mins what great service not this place it's a joke. Long story short i ended up seeing a specialist for my back and i had torn a tendon in my back. And they took me out in a wheelchair i couldn't even sit in. I would never recommend going there.

They have worked hard and helped me in many ways when my daughter was born

HORRIBLE PATIENT EXPERIENCE. Go elsewhere if able. Had a medical emergency in the family and had to wait forever amongst completely apathetic. The receptionists could literally not care less. The one male nurse (shaved head) was awesome and seemed to genuinely care, as well as the xray tech. All others, including the ER doc, were not caring or sympathetic at all. Go to St Marks, Tville ER, or anywhere else where they care. Read so many other 1-star reviews and be forewarned. Namaste

Jay Kay

I had an incredible experience. I had a dual transplant, liver and kidney, and All of the staff, nurses, surgeons and aids, and all other departments were wonderful. They were full of compassion, knowledge, encouragement and action. I highly recommend this facility and all of the staff.

I had a baby here when I was 29 weeks pregnant. I felt like MFM took very good care of me and monitored me closely when it was discovered that I had a high risk pregnancy. Everything went as well as it could even though my baby was in intensive care and would be there for another 3 months. I had been in the hospital for a few days and my legs were still really swollen after my c-section despite receiving plenty of medicine for fluid retention. Dr. Branch came in my room to compare my situation to his knee surgery and said I didn’t need any more pain meds and told me there was nothing more they could do for me and that I would heal at home. So I was released. My leg continued to get bigger and began to turn blue and was so painful because I had blood clots. I had to go back to the hospital’s ER. I should have not been released from the hospital when Dr. Branch ordered my discharge. My swelling should have been investigated further. And no woman, after having a baby c-section 11 weeks early with a baby in the NICU wants her doctor to compare his minor knee surgery to an extremely critical and traumatic experience.

My brother, sister and I spent over two months - one of us was with her 24/7, 7 days a week - at this hospital after our mother had a pneumonectomy. I have never experienced such a dedicated staff of caring professionals. At the very end, on the day my mother passed away, they took every care they possibly could to make the day as easy and as special as possible. I could not have asked for more from any of them and I will be forever grateful. Thank you Intermountain Staff!

All employees were fantastic kind friendly and helpful until they send you home they kinda (half/assed) diagnosed me with a Fractured Tibial Plateau i had fallen 18' onto solid rock very, very painful they gave me a prescription 8 pills total? 2 pills every four hours or as needed for pain the 2 pills didn't even start to help the pain and the Dr they referred me to for follow up treatment can't see me for over a week 8 pills for 8 days in brutal pain? NOT!!!! They tell me i have to come back in to see them i can't even walk?? Wanted my X-RAYS to go somewhere else but now they tell me I have to wait until 8 am? Worst patient recovery planing I've ever seen they want me to crawl on my hands to go back? Go somewhere else i have never had so much pain in my life and they want me just hurry up and crawl back over ?? Never Mind I will go to a real hospital ...

BEWARE Before seeking psyche care in the new clinic Cottonwood Psychiatrics and Counseling, READ. I find it HORRIFYING these people choose to work in a profession that is supposed to help people with psychological issues. As soon as you actually exhibit signs of NEEDING services not just a check in from another actual doctor already assigned medications- they have NO idea what to do. It's almost like the revolving door of patients gets jammed and th doctors start panicking, the money alarms are going to go off and cruel and unusual punishments would commence. I'm not sure, even in a crisis, any so called doctor here, has seen me longer than 10-15 minutes than shoved out the doors. My nurse practitioner, Joan, actually screamed at me that I was to ask NO MORE QUESTIONS ABOUT MY MEDICATION. I'm terrified to visit this practice without a care giver. That is irresponsible, if you stop to think about it. Sincere PTSD from visiting your psyche nurse. She knows it's true because she has her own to speak of. 1) I get to hear all about her medical issues. 2) She almost died from doctors while on a medical evac. I am not your friend, I am your patient- DON'T GET IT TWISTED 3) She hates her job and only stays because she gets insurance to pay for her health issues, ie. medication that would otherwise cost her 30K. 4) She complains about getting poor surveys and reviews from clients and her management team. 5) Her poor migraines :( poor poor her. Maybe her brain is dead- see #8. 6) My chaperone believes Joan is on some type of medication or drug that is clearly effecting her judgement/work. "Some visits it's like she's taken cocaine, extra giddy, full of energy; other times it's as if she's forgotten all her meds cause she mopes in, barely gives any eye contact and she's mean during these visits". 7) Joan once told me I have a brain tumor and left me (after hours) in the parking lot by myself having an emotional break down - after which, I spent time, money and specialists time to find out she's a nut job and there was NOTHING to worry about. 8) The latest wild goose chase, end of last year she harassed me by phone, then when I made my appointment time she yelled at me for not calling her back- this is life and death, your pancreas is dying she proclaimed, and I was to go directly to the ED. Oh my heck, well that spawned another session of wasting my time, money and specialists time to be told by an endocrinologist my blood work shows NOTHING of dead or dying organs. 9) BTW same endocrinologist has advised for my own personal welfare and health care to seek medication management from a different provider. I wish it were that easy. Now I'm in the middle of a medication change, cause you know my organs are dying an all. My meds that worked for 15+ years are now being changed and guess who has all the control? Control whether I'm sick from side effects and call for help to be told to wait 2 weeks, they control whether I even get my meds sent to the pharmacy, they control my well being at this point and they are failing as health care provider. I understand tapering slowly, I'm not stupid, this is my body and brain and I'm quite knowledgeable about illnesses my body and brain have. However I'm not a doctor, I do not have knowledge of medication what's available, what it might do to me etc, that's your guy's job. Joan doesn't take time to read her charts to even know the timeframe to work within. Just belittles me when I ask for clarification. Are you guys not aware side effects can include confusion? Why is my mental health provider not allowing me to be clear on what I'm putting into my body, why and for how long. Just another scam to get us through the revolving door of IHC crapcare!!!!! I'm so grateful I can see providers out of the IHC network. Especially this place. Seems like their clinics are filled with fast food workers. Push a script, next. Push a specialist, next. Push five more appointments, next. Don't ask questions, next. Need help for your psyche issues, whoa whoa whoa - where do you think you are?

Elizabeth Parkinson

Had 2 NICU babies here, great Dr's and nurses! I drive from Tooele County to continue seeing our Dr's and it's the only ER I will go to!

Casey Barton

What a total and complete bunch of idiots. I've been to 2 different Intermountain facilities with my Dad, and both times they are completely disorganized and don't even know what they are doing. It's unbelievable.

Betty Kay

My daughter was a patient several times in the ICU when she acutely ill. She received excellent nursing care. I was included in the morning rounds. As an RN my only suggestion is that anyone entering the hospital, especially critical care, must have their Advanced Directives in order and be able to state clearly what they want and do not want done. Every patient needs an advocate, friend or family, who will speak for them when they cannot. I am from Seattle and found the older doctor wanted to overrule my daughter's well planned decision. She had a Stage 4 cancer. He made a difficult situation more difficult but she handled it well, with my support. I want to stress that the nurses and younger doctors were professional, highly skilled and always kind. I am grateful for their care.

Ana Taeoalii

Dr Thackeray is by far the best doctor I’ve seen super profesional and amazing doctor!! And of course his staff

Kaleb Juhasz

If i could give less than 1 star i would.. I took my 4 month old son to the IMC ER Dept. because he was sick and power vomiting, most likely due to the led and copper in Sandy City’s water pipes. The nurse was so non-sympathetic and showed no care in our concern. Very low energy and monotone attitude. We expressed our concerns to the doctor and requested a free led test that they advertised, just to make sure my son was okay and they refused to do ANY testing on him. They said his symptoms were “purely coincidental” and he should be fine. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE WITH YOUR LITTLE CHILDREN! ALWAYS STICK WITH PRIMARY CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL!!

Kirk Anderson

I went into building #5 to use the restroom at 5:50 am and 3 police officers and a security officer told me I couldn't use the restroom. I can't recall a time when I have been treated with such disregard. Isn't a police officers job supposed to be catching criminals rather than monitoring bathrooms &/or sitting around doing nothing. LEARN HOW TO TREAT PEOPLE WITH RESPECT.

Ryan H

Excellent experience for my daughter who went through brain surgery. They were great and a huge shout out to the IHC department and surgery department.

Joel Hopper

Dealing with this hospital as a professional is a joke. We've received multiple patients recently with horrible case management and communication. They simply fail to mention whole entire surgical procedures or pertinent medical information. Trying to acquire information usually takes multiple faxes and at least an hour of phone tags or waiting on hold. Unacceptable.

LESA HERRING

Doctors and nursing staff were very informative. Friendly clean environment.

Cesar martins

I was with my daughter today in the hospital, and I was very poorly received, I had a good reception and the first nurse, after that it was a nightmare, to the ridiculous point where they went to do a blood test on my daughter 1 year old and asked me to withdraw from the room even though I questioned that I wanted to be with her. this is absolutely ridiculous and disrespectful to stay with my daughter more than 30 minutes trying to remove blood without the presence of a responsible one

Wade Brinton

Both of my children were born here. The first had to stay in the NICU for a week and the staff were phenomenal. Especially for a first time parent. I am glad a facility like this exists in the heart of the Salt Lake valley. Easy to access and right next to a main TRAX station. Dr Terri will be sorely missed but the staff that remains provides amazing women and newborn services. I trust the healthcare professionals here will provide high quality services for each of my family members.

Melissa Aardema

Let's talk about accountability for a minute. It's an obligation or willingness to accept responsibility or to account for one's actions. I have had many health concerns over the years, 10 years ago when I had my gall bladder removed, IHC as a whole was great. Fast forward to now, I see a corporation out to make a profit, by whatever means necessary. I was mislead to visit the ER 2 times, based on doctor's advice when I called 2 different clinics to get an appointment. (which I couldn't because the doctor was "too busy" to see me.) My husband is a GM at a restaurant, and guess what ,if a guest complaint comes up or a table of 10 walks in, he works longer. Why would a doctor not expect the same? On the first ER visit, I got some saline and nausea meds and was sent home to the tune of 1500$ with absolutely no answers or advice about why I was sick. The 2nd time a little over a week later, I was sent to the ER to make sure my appendix wasn't rupturing. Turns out it was an ovarian cyst, labs were drawn and that was about it. That was some saline, a pain pill while I was in the facility, a CT scan that showed the cyst, and a bill for about another 2500$. Well, the doctors- 2 of them in the ER, plus 4 at urgent care I saw during that time period, and 2 different clinic doctors all missed what was in pain sight. They missed an infection in my throat caused by an asthma inhaler (treated with a yeast infection pill that costs $10 at the pharmacy) and Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome, which will be a lifelong struggle, which I will see my doctor at the UNIVERSITY OF UTAH for; the other doctor who caught the throat infection was at the UNIVERSITY OF UTAH as well. So the common denominator seems to be, if you don't mind wasting your money and time, go ahead and use IHC the corporation, oh excuse me health care institution for your health care needs. If you want to be treated by outstanding physicians who continuously study their specialty, do research and pay attention to symptoms as a big picture, go see someone at the U of U hospital. And don't count on financial assistance, because God forbid the corporate administrators might have to not get a bonus this year, or a raise on top of their insanely high salary. But who cares if their employees get a .24 cent raise every year, we "make enough money to not need financial assistance"? They are clearly interested and invested in making a profit, which kind of seems like the opposite to me of, a non profit. Pick a side. If you are going to help people, do it. If not, they should pay taxes like the rest of us.

THE DEATHSPITAL IS THE MOST DEADLY PLACE OF ALL THEY KILL PEOPLE OR IN THE PROCESS OF DOING THAT AND THERE IS PROOF OF THAT

This is regarding the billing department of Intermountain health for an emergency visit on 04/27/2018 for my wife. I was given a bill of $2532.93 after the visit and my insurance discounts. I used my HSA company (health equity) to pay the bill 06/13/2018 itself. But I kept on getting the bills again and again for the same claim. I spoke to IHC billing department multiple times, and they asked for a proof of payment, and for that, I contacted my HSA company to mail them the proof of payments as well. Every time i speak with a new agent for IHC's billing department they would say they don't have the details of my previous conversation with other agents so i had to send them proof of payments multiple times. Finally, they agreed on call (07/20/2018) that they have received the payment. Now yesterday I got the same bill again date 10/29/2018 and now I am very very angry. I don't know what they want, they have my money, now they are asking for more.

I brought my wife to the ER last week because of leg pain that turned out to be blood clots in her legs and lungs. The ER staff was incredible, not only were they welcoming and friendly, but timely and extremely helpful. After an overnight stay, my wife left having received the help and info she needed to finish out her healing process. Staff: Excellent Service: Outstanding Facilities: Clean and Impressive

Steven Kimber

It’s the biggest hospital in the whole world! In fact, so big that it has it’s own gravity field. JK.

Victoria Winspear

Had a appointment with Dr. AnnaMarie Edwards today. Had the first appointment of the day @ 8:00 and by 9:00 I walked out not even seeing her at all. Doesn't deserve any stars, other than the front desk was nice. Show respect for others time, it's just as important as yours. Never go back.

Toni Miller

As I sit here in this emergency waiting area with my sister that is in horrible pain. I notice a young girl sitting at a triage in-take area. She is clearly in pain. In the open they speak openly about what is wrong with young girl. Its clear what ever is wrong with her its substantial. Four people at the front desk. "Patient check In/triage is laughing and cutting up at something on the computer. No tact, completely inappropriate behavior. I understand this is their job and you cant always be serious but some professionalism should be required. I hope I'm never in the position I would have to come to this hospital. If this is any reflection Of how this hospital operates I would hate to see the rest of their staff.

Louisa Ingalls

In February i took my quadroplegic sister to IMC for illness and pneumonia treatment. She was terribly ill. In 3 days, eventhough her 2 hospitalist physicians ordered respiratory treatments should be done every 4 to 6 hours, for her pnuemonia, no one from respiratory services showed up once during her entire stay. The physicians put in a 2nd order when we told them it had been 36 hrs. And no treatment for her terribly compromised lungs. This is one of many serious issues she experienced. What a mess. This facility is so understaffed no one should go there. We have since heard from other health providers and friends that there have been lots of layoffs at IHC facilities as they adopt new "protocols" as management wants the facilities to become the "hospitals of the future." But how about taking proper care of the patients you are responsible for RIGHT NOW? I have a long list of the problems/lack of care related to her hospital stay. The nurses tried to help and were kind, but they looked ready to drop from exhaustion, due from running from room to room to room nonstop. The hospital could not even spare a CNA to feed my sister, who as I mentioned is quadroplegic and could not feed herself. I tried to be there as much as I could to assist, but I could not stay 24/7. I spoke to CNAs, nurses, the head nurse and one of the hospitalists (an extremely excellent doctor and kind), clearly this hospital (I use the term loosley) has serious lack of care coordination and is totally understaffed.

octobarra

They ruined my life. Incompetent doctors their decided to perform a surgery that they were unqualified for. I eventually went to the University of Utah to fix the problem after they botched the surgery. Now I have lingering issues that would have otherwise been avoided if I had just gone to the U in the first place. The University of Utah is the best hospital in the state and one of the best in the country because they are a research oriented hospital. Do your research, make the right choice the first time.

Austin Gale

This hospital is awesome! I have been in and out of the ER several times, and the staff is always friendly and informative. Great place to receive treatment.

Clay Slagowski

I have eiplipse it where I go. To my doctor appointment every 6 months. So it works for me

Jeanna Herrgesell

I received a kidney from my husband October 2017. Extremely impressed with IMC's professional conduct and their personal touch. I admire the team attitude and sense of humanity.

Natalia Wolfgramm

I gave birth to 2 of my children here and I’ve enjoyed both experiences. The staff is always accommodating and helpful. Also they keep the rooms very clean. The dr’s and nurses are great! I also think the food at the cafeteria is really good too which is a plus. Overall a great hospital.

Nicole

The WORST hospital... Nobody knows what's going on and they don't look at your records before they call asking for information. When I delivered my baby they were more concerned with how much money they could make off me instead of my health and worsened my condition by forcing me to stay an extra day all so they could charge me more. I had a good doctor but never want to return to this place and I wouldn't recommend anyone go there.

Thalen Washington

I was here for blood work and very impressed with the way the facility was ran and how clean and new it appeared. I am honestly having trouble remembering a better hospital that I may have been too. I recommend this place but I can't comment on more serious care issues.

Samantha Ramirez

All the nurses were nice and attentive during my stay except for one, Lori. She kept saying she was getting things and took FOREVER even after pushing my nurses button various times. I needed my IV to be taken out after it was put in wrong and was painful. I was extremely congested and asked for medicine and I had important questions for her. All my previous nurses were fast and attentive. After my surgeon team came in they said If i didn't feel comfortable leaving yet that i was more than welcome to stay one more night. Because i was having abdomen pain after eating i decided to stay one more night to be safe. I wanted be be more cautious because being pregnant and going through all the pain I went through I didn't want to go through it again. She came in later basically telling me they wanted me to leave because I had no medical reason for being there and scared me and said my insurance wasn't in their network without double checking. Turns out it was cleared. She wasn't aware they just previously told me I was more than welcome to stay another night to feel assured by the surgeon team. She did not know how to to communicate anything well and made me feel very uncomfortable.

S M

This is an amazing facility located in the middle of the Salt Lake Valley. it’s very convenient to get to and the employees and staff are very friendly and I would highly recommend it.

Amy Mitchell

The ICU staff is good EXCEPT there is a nurse Edna. She is the rudest roughest inattentive indifferent person i have ever encountered in the medical field. She doesn't speak to you and she doesn't listen to concerns. Our mother feel and boke her left shoulder, right wrist, and mouth including knocking out several teeth. On top of that she developed heart complications... this nurse Edna is so abrasive... when she comes on shift the first things she said to family who traveled 3 hours to help heal our mom was " it's a courtesy for me to allow you here. I want the light off and the tv off tonight!"... our mom sleeps with the light on and the tv on. While rearranging our mom i asked if she needed the urine container moved to the other side and she flipped out. The patients daughter said she didn't need to be so rude and that started Edna on a 45 minutes rant about his great she is. It was awful. She was asked several times to stop!! she didn't. We asked the charge nurse for another nurse for the night and she said she had no one available. The night was hell!!!!! There is so many more detailed information but not enough space. Don't leave your loved ones alone at this place.

Terri Low

My husband had a "partial colon removal", technical med term is "sigmoid colorectomy" I guess, and done lapriscopically. He needed to be there by 5:30am. We were. After the initial registration and admitting process, he was wheeled in to the surgical unit (7:30ish), and we went our separate ways. Surgery actually began closer to 8:30. About 1:10 pm, 4.5+ hrs later, Im sitting in waiting area and someone from surgical unit called me on their phone to say my huSband was done, all went well, and he would be taken to room #23 on the 11th floor, and I could go there and wait. About 1.5 hours later, a male nurse finds me and says they've changed rooms to go with him and that my husband hadn't yet come out of the anesthesia, but they would bring him as soon as he did. The time was just after when my husband was finally here, still groggy of course, but looked good. So my issues are... The surgeon, Dr. Gullock, doc, not one person found me in the waiting room to personally talk and let me know anything, nothing, as I watched other doctors come and go with their patients families. And this morning, 24hrs later, in conversation with the night nurse on the phone, he informs me that he cannot give me , the wife, any information ... I STILL KNOW NOTHING, AND NEITHER DOES MY HUSBAND, THE PATIENT!!!

The parking at this hospital is a joke. I don't know why they don't build a parking garage. It's apparent they don't care

AVOID TERESA DAMERY AT ALL COSTS. This woman is the cruelest medical "professional" I have ever come across. My labor experience was terrible because of her. She was pushy and demanding, invasive (she burst my water without asking or informing me that was her plan), and told me varying atrocious things, such as "You won't be able to give birth, and will be in a long labor and will most likely end up as a C-Section." and she complained that I was "an unscheduled birth in her busy night." Even some of the nurses were astonished at how rude she was. It got to the point that I wouldn't let anyone go get her while I remained in labor, because I was more terrified of her touching me again than giving birth. (Which, by the way, I was in labor for no more than 4-6 hours.) Under no circumstance would I ever let this woman "care" for me again. Aside from her, there were a few nice nurses but our problems didn't cease, even when in the after delivery room. The staff knock, then barge in even when you have the curtain drawn and tell them you are not decent and to come back later, several of them still didn't stop and came through. The overall experience was horrifying and exhausting.

My mom has surgery in building 4. And her RN Megan was absolutely amazing she made sure we had all the information we needed. Was super friendly and sweet, made sure my mom was comfortable and had everything she needed. Megan is a one of a kind nurse. ❤️

Lowsy care if thats what you want to call it, been trying to find out if the spot on my lung is cancer or not been given the runaround for over 6 months, and then I found out they knew over a yr ago but no one botherd to tell me. So nuch for the oath do no harm

Tom Reynolds

I had a friend who had surgery there and was placed on a horrible bed and was in constant pain and asked for assistance for several days but never received it

Sara Anderson

Love this hospital. I have been in and out of hospitals for 2 years and imc is great. If you are staying in a room after surgery, meeting with a doctor or getting imaging, this hospital has great customer service and accommodations.

Julio Luna Dominguez

Treated my friend like a drug addict when he was trying to get his med filled.

My bill was sent to me, which I paid in-full online and it was super easy, and that was that... or so I thought. Then, apparently, my insurance company made adjustments covering $31.00 less then what I was initially told. (this is not intermountain"s fault, I understand) However, I was unaware of this adjustment. I never received any notification of this remaining balance. How was I able to pay without it being finalized with the insurance company and how were the totals off? I had no idea this had happened until I recently got a letter and 10 phone calls from a collection agency 8 months later. I called in to verify this with intermountain billing dept. to make sure this was not a scam because I knew I had paid in full and had not received any more bills. The agent replied, "let me look in to this, because you are not the only one this has happened to..." This inspires Zero trust! I also talked to my friend about it, she told me she was in a car accident recently and had a similar problem with Intermountain healthcare, not being notified and sent to collections. COME ON!!!!! I would expect this from a shady gym chain or my cable company but from where I am getting my healthcare from?? Yikes! It was $31.00 I would have gladly paid it had I known.

Randi Oliver

My daughter was brought in, and admitted to the ICU. No one called us to tell us for hours. She said she kept telling them to please call my parents and gave them the number. We never got a call. We had to track her by her cell phone.

Justin Pearce

I went into the hospital with what I thought was an issue needing antibiotics. Once there I found out I was having a major diabetic episode. The team in the ER reacted very quickly. They had a room lined up or me and admitted me for a few days. They took me to the treatment level on level 8. The staff was very nice and explained along the way as I was learning I was now a diabetic with a long way to go to be safe. They were all extremely friendly. The room was nicer than a lot of hotel rooms I have stayed at. I was slamming insulin like a camp by the time I left. Thank you very much. PS they even put in with rowdy visitors from my office. And the “hospital food” was actually very good.

Whitney Scow

Almost killed in the ER. I was sent home with anxiety. Despite me telling the Dr. It was not anxiety. I returned home and was back in the ER within 90 mins with a fever of 106. The ER Dr do not listen or trust. I will only return if I want to die.. . Save your live and NEVER go to IMC hospital. I was admitted and at one point I was in so much pain my body was shaking and the nurses to over 45 mins to get someone in the room that could start another (#4l) to administer medication.

Sienna Scheid

I was just in for trauma, broken leg, and I was so impressed with the care. All the staff was so kind and acomdating, the hospital rooms are clean and cozy, food isn't too bad, and everyone really knows what they're doing. I was seen by multiple specialists like physical therapists and physician assistants. They even have therapy dogs you can request. If I had to go anywhere for an emergency I'd pick there!

Rick Sanchez

The only reason I decided to leave a review is cause of my man Joseph. He’s a RN that works up in building 5, fantastic job explaining, very experienced for his age too. If he ever attends you, you’ll know what I’m talking about.

Jeremy Gallimore

Best hospital in the valley hands down! Unfortunately I've been there many times both with and without insurance. Everytime I am treated with respect. The nursing staff works extremely hard and are very informative. Every Dr I have delt with has been simply amazing. Including the surgon that did work on my right lung! My inpatient stay was also great, well as good as it could be. The people in ICU where incredible too. I can't thank everyone enough for the care and attention I received!!

Erin Huerta

They were good at 1st. Until they stopped taking BCBS, they are Non Participating. Which means they can charge what they want to charge you. (This is a review that I have written several years ago. And somehow it got on me the wrong area. So, I am rewriting.) I went in for a procedure in April, paid the amount that my insurance gave me. I called them to tell them that they needed to bill my 2nd insurance which is Select Health. They said I needed to fax in the explanation of benefits from my primary insurance. And I faxed that and info showing I paid my primary insurance portion. And they still haven't sent my 2nd insurance the info to get thier portion. I have not been to them since. I am switching to the UofU hospital. There was a time 4-5 years ago where both my insurances went hand in hand. Now they do not. Pretty sad. Especially for a terminally ill patient. I mean I have enough to worry about then having to do billing and faxing those explanation of benefits to them.

Siara D

Absolutely amazing hospital with amazing employees! Definitely recommend this hospital!

Patricia Hammond

I was on the 9th floor I accidentally drug overdosed the care I received was extremely excellent there was no judgment someone was always in the room with me. I couldn't believe how big the window is and the view. But I'm so very grateful you saved my life and the staff is amazing thank you all so very much there is a nurse a tall man alittle heavyset I dont know his name but I will never forget him so very kind. All of the people that were with my are amazing

Lunaria Belle

My grandmother has been in the icu for a month and a half, and the medical staff has been wonderful! They have treated my grandma with such love and care as if she was their own relative. They have also been very kind and thoughtful towards us making sure we had what we needed and any questions we asked were answered to the best of their ability. However my grandma's caseworker has been very horrible, she has been lying to each member of my family about my grandma's transition to another facility and her insurance information. She goes behind the back of my grandma's primary medical P.O.A. in order to do things her own way. This hospital is great and your loved one will be very well cared for here, but if you get Bernadette as a caseworker I would suggest you immediately ask for someone else!

Lance Mcintyre

I don't even know where to start. I have been coming here for years, whenever anything goes wrong in my life and I'm around this location come here everytime, in fact I would demand this location over many others in the salt lake valley! They have taken amazing care of me personally and when my grandmother was struggling with copd they gave her advice that I wish she would have received sooner, if she would have been coming to this location the whole time I feel like her quality of life and everything would have been substantially better! I can't begin to say enough things about this location, the staff is always amazing.. Don't ever worry about it.. You will be in the best hands possible.

Scott Burrows

My ER room was dirty. My nurse was lazy. My doctor would order medication and he (nurse) was standing at the counter joking with other nurses. Impersonal and cold attitudes. Except my doctor she was very professional and sweet.

Matthew Sand

Be careful. The CEO (Marc Harrison) mentioned that all Intermountain jobs are going to India, now all your medical records are now stored there. He is laying off 2300 employees, so not good for the jobs in Utah. Be careful going to any Intermountain locations.

Tyler Wells

I would not mind going to this hospital they have a great neurology staff. the ambulance always brings me to Jordan West that is a joke of a hospital and should not even be in business for this kind of treatment. they have their own floor for people with epilepsy and take very good care of them and are very quick to get the leds hooked up to see what part the seizure is coming from. wish I could get my VNS done here but my insurance is out of network so have to do it at the U of U hope they are just as good.

Chris Clayton

Never have i been laughed at after coming out of a procedure. But today it happened. All kinds of things happen when a person wakes up they are happy, tired, crying, in pain and( unless I'm mistaken) a doctor's snd nurses job is to help them feel comfortable. Today i woke up from an upper GI in pain because i had a total hip 2 months ago and was laying in and uncomfortable position. Not being fully aware i was crying in pain and my attentive wife asked if i could take my pain meds and after talking to the dr he closed the thin curtin, held it closed and the nurse and he started laughing at us. I feel belittled and embarrassed that i even asked for help and that they think im some sort of addict. I will never go back to a place where they think its ok to think a thin sheet is a sound barrier and not be aware of how their actions make other feel.

Asher Wry

We've had several experiences here and they've all been positive. Very clean facilities and very kind staff. the cafeteria here is great too with lots of healthy variety to choose from.

Terrible place to work! A very very toxic environment.

Luke Madson

they stole my kidneys

Blake Hammer

Had our first born here, couldn't have asked for a better OB, pediatrician, nurse staff or facility. Best hospital food I've ever had too.

J Hondo

I was treated extremely poorly. I have never felt as if my life was so unimportant EVER! I went into the emergency room for help knowing that I was experiencing the symptoms I usually feel before I have a seizure. I have had many and know when they are coming. I was given medication, that's it. I expressed my concern about them occurring again and stated that I was hoping to find some answers. After finding out that I had no Insurance I was repeatedly asked if I was ready to leave yet to which I replied no and then I was asked if there was anyone who could come get me. I replied no again. I was then, regardless of my physical state, hurried out the door. Within 5 hours of leaving I had a severe seizure and a few hours later another two mild ones. Their complete disregard for my health almost cost me my life.

SuperTech Racing

I don't know about there service but there food is so good. Definitely would recommend going there on a date or lunch time.

Teresa

99% of the staff are clueless and can’t help with anything. They will direct your call to the wrong department, claim they left you messages, suddenly resort back to your old phone numbers and addresses, etc. All three stars go to Armeni in the neurology department because she has her game together. She should be given a raise. She’s the only one who ever knows what’s going on. Like really. Give her a promotion and a raise. Now.

Blair Mcfields

Went to visit a saint in Respitory ICU.. I was so very.disappointed in the female Neuro Dr on duty. Who was very rude to a family. You could hear her talking down to them as she spoke. .very sad.

Eric Smith

I have been here a number of times as a patient (surgeries, radiology, lab, check-ups) and to visit others who are patients. Fantastic and beautiful hospital with skilled and caring nurses, doctors, technicians, etc. State-of-the art equipment, facilities, procedures. Beautiful landscaping and good cafeteria. Parking can be difficult, as this place is very large and busy. And of course, they have the problem that all medical providers these days do, which is that costs are crazy high and you have no idea until you get the bill what the cost is going to be. I should also add that not every experience here has been ideal. I have had to wait a long time for certain appointments, sometimes doctors have been rushed or cold, some nurses are way better than others. But all in all, a five-star hospital.

Lena Harutyunyan

I have been in the hospital for my niece who is 8 months old. We took the baby to Emergency not awake without reaction but did not get help. We were told there is no doctor and the room leaving us in an awful situation. In the hospital we were trying to shake the baby to open her ayes and wake up because she were thinking we are losing the baby. The front desk treated us like an animal more than a person. The security was aggressive and unnecessary rude. They humiliated us when we were crying for help.

Andy Segura

I’m going to try to make a long story short as possible. My experience at IMC was horrible! Please don’t take any of your loved ones there! My mother went in just with a headache they assumed she was just going through Opioid withdrawals because my mother was taking Tramadol but I knew she never took many and was not going threw withdrawals. They moved my mom to the 14th floor where the staff was so unprofessional and rude to my mom and family. We could here them joking and giggling through the day and night. Every time the (CNA) sitter would call the RN on there litte devices for meds help etc we could here the response and sounded like we were just a inconvenience. After a couple of days of hell on the 14th floor my mother is not getting any better and now they seem to believe it’s not withdrawals and at this point my mothers memory is getting very bad and nobody in the hospital can tell me what’s going on with her. They move her to icu 5th floor where I felt lot more comfertable with the care they was giving my mother now the doctor tells me he thinks she is having seizures I felt little relieve with the diagnosis they hook her up to the brain wave machine to check for her seizures she wakes up on a Saturday morning and looks lot better and is talking the doctor walks at this time and notices she looks better and says well looks like we can move her back up to the 14th floor I was not happy with them moving her out of the icu so soon and I expressed it to them. But they said they needed the room for more critical patients. Sunday morning comes my mother is back in the 14th floor they tell us that it is not seizures so we still don’t know what is going on and have no clue what is going on with my mother..at this point my mom looks very bad and is not responding to us and not passing any of the Nero tests they are doing. I express my concern to the doctors about my mom not looking well and request they do a spinal tab and put her back in icu..they finally said ok they will do it in the morning if she is still not doing well..I go home to get some sleep so I can be back up with my mother first thing in the morning.. But instead was woken up at 3am to my phone ringing it was a icu doctor saying my mother got more sick over night for us to go there ASAP.. They sit all of my family in a conference room and tell us my moms heart rate dropped and she stoped breathing my mother passed away. I truly believe if I would have took my mother to another hospital I would still have my mom! Please don’t take anybody you love to IMC.. they still have not told me why or how she passed away!

Miles H

Beware! IHC will charge you personally $1082 for walking into the ER before you are seen by a physician or treated for any condition (which will be added on top of the initial fee). They will not explain this charge to patients or help you pay in any way. You are simply a $ in their eyes and not a patient, customer, or member of the community. I am happy to pay for services rendered but not egregious charges without any justifiable service.

Amy Garner

I️ was so surprised to see any poor ratings for IMC. My husband spent 3 months their waiting for a heart transplant. So we had a lot of time for evaluation. The nurses and staff there are top notch. They are skilled, kind, and go the extra mile. We have spent a lot of time in other hospitals but have never felt safer than we did at Imc . Their heart program is nationally rated as one of the best in the country. Everyone from the doctors, nurses, phlebotomy, physical therapy, Housekeeper’s etc. were exceptional.

michael penwell

spent an hour walking around asking people where the place was to get an EEG. not one straight answer from anyone, took nearly an hour for someone last time to point me to MRI, was late for that appt and they could not see me, tried to reschedule 2x and got no where. gave up on that. am giving up on trying an EEG. bottom line they would be better off doing these EEG's at the clinic and train people on better directions and less confusing signs at there hospital would hate to see what would happen in a real emergency? probably could not get in and would probably die I WILL NEVER USE THIS PLACE AGAIN and i recommend you don't either

The Singing Pumpkin

The best hospital in the valley/state. PERIOD! They have the BEST doctors in the state, as well as the most competent and compassionate RNs you will ever find. The care you will receive is top-rate. I have nothing but praises for this hospital.

Rebeka

I was shocked by the overall inept and uncaring attitudes of the staff here. There were few and far between doctors, nurses, or aides that seemed to actually care about the patient and the family members. Overall there was a lot of arrogance, not a lot of listening, and a lot of impatience. My grandma has been here for several days as she is recovering from a total knee replacement that created some complications for her health and it has been a nightmare. She is constantly hearing different stories from the nurses and the doctors, not being treated with kindness, and none of her family members are listened to adequately or shown respect. There have been many times my grandma has called a nurse for help to go to the bathroom, and they just ignore it and don't come until between 30 and 45 minutes later, by that point it is too late. We have tried to help her get up to go to the bathroom, but a nurse came in once and saw us helping her and scolded all of us. She didn't understand why my grandma didn't want to just wet the bed rather than have us help her. It was very demeaning and frustrating to see a loved one treated in such a manner. If you can go to a different hospital, do it. This is not a place where your loved ones will be treated with the upmost care. In addition to this, the entire week we have been here, the visitor bathrooms on our floor are "out of order" and we must go to the first floor to use the bathroom. They were filthy, with used toilet paper and feminine hygiene products all on the floor and a toilet that looked like it hadn't been wiped down in weeks. Not the type of hygiene you expect from a hospital.

Allison Selig

I am so grateful for the emergency treatment I received here. I came in to the ER with my first ever kidney stone. I was throwing up in the waiting area and I had to wait probably 45 minutes before being taken back - I am so thankful it was not an hours-long wait. Once I was in a room, I was given almost immediate pain relief and all of my calls to the nurses station were responded to quickly. Going in to an ER in extreme pain is such a vulnerable experience, and I don't think I could have handled any mistreatment. Wonderful professionals all around.

Doug Woolley

Truly the GOLD STANDARD IN HEALTHCARE! From being admitted to having spinal surgery EVERYTHING was handled in a caring, efficient, proficient, and professional manner. Thank you for your service.

Michael Arch

The worst post cardiac care in Utah. After a Surgeon saves your life from a massive heart attack & releases you from ICU, the post care cardiac "staff" (3rd & 4th floors) will do their best to put you back in full cardiac arrest. Unprofessional, uncaring, unresponsive, & possibly the worst disturbing is the flaunting of provocative behavior & comments made to & in front of patients, after care rooms are dirty, & the private bathroom with a so called "shower" is a joke, no hot water, broken shower head, hand held shower broken stem, bathroom floods out side into room due to inept drainage, night staff is awful. Do not leave loved ones alone in this hospital, at least not in the cardiac wing. stay with them, IMC staff, especially night staff cannot be trusted & border on abusive. IMC cardiac center is a disorganized joke, and not at all funny when your life is in their hands.

Horrible patient care!!!! Patient information was completely wrong in the computer on several occasions! Thank goodness they confirmed weight before going into surgery! Went back 5 days after surgery and Dr asked why I was on blood thinners?! Seriously?! After I paid hundreds of dollars!! No refunds, shouldn't even be on them! Apparently his assistant and the doctor don't communicate any better than they pay attention to their patients!

Lindy Dunn

What a terrible experience so far, and we haven't even had the procedure yet! They have called to take payments for a procedure not yet performed, but have not called to schedule for tomorrow!!! I called to get some information and a highly sensitive and TERRIBLE automated system just tells you OVER AND OVER that it didn't quite hear or get that. I can't get to a real person. What a freaking JOKE.

Mint

Do not go to the ER here spent 6 hours for the "doctor" to tell me nothings wrong with me, when I came in with severe stomach pain and could barely walk, they put me in a room at the very end of the hospital, making me walk with severe leg pain. Then I ask the doctor to do an x-ray and a blood smear test and she wouldn't because she didn't feel a need too. How are you going to say we cant do anything for me yet you guys wont even do tests to find out whats wrong. Also had a nurse flat out lie to me and when I called him out on it he played dumb, very bad medical practices here.

JAKEJHUNTER VIKING-WARRIOR

They saved my life. But I have to thank Alta View Hospital for finding the problem. Alta View is still hands down my favorite ER and Hospital. Why you ask the people really care and feel for all your needs. They really have the best of the best bedside manner. I have to also mention Dr. Webb who is a infectious Diseases Dr. He is the best he really is superior. He went out of his way big time to explain my case. Thank you so much Dr. Webb. I give you a 10 start for your knowledge and caring manner in which you practice medicine. I can't thank you enough.

This hospital has way too many residents so information gets passed down in correctly or not at all. I had child in Provo a NICU baby that hospital was great i loved going up their to see my kid. That being said I just had my 2nd child at this hospital another NICU child we have had some good nurses but today 4/29/19 this particular nurse was very rude when the parents enter their childs room and you see them because you're standing in the same room do not ignore them especially when you hear us saying I wonder who her nurse is let me go look around and find out but no she closed the curtains like we were bothering her instead of saying I'm her nurse I will be right with you nope she said nothing al all. It makes me think its because we are black and now I am wondering are you going to miss treat my child as well so I will be requesting never to have that nurse again.

Dashala Miles

I am from vegas i thought vegas has bad health care......i got here at almost 10am i could have been done 2 hours ago but no one in the hospital can read an MRI they are calling around trying to get help reading a MRI why not just say in the begining we have to guve him an mri but we wont be able to give you results because no one in the entire hospital can read it......then i asked for copies so i can take it to someone who can accually read it and they are telling me i cant get it because its not ready well what in the hell are you trying to get read by a random dr......i will drive 30 miles out before i ever come to this place w was here from 10am to 4pm sad......the only reason i gave a stare is because i had to in order to review wish i could take my star back......i also took my daughter in and they told her that they could do the procedure but it would be better to do it with a dr that she could follow up with what the hell......then my step momcame in about five months ago and they sent her home and said nothing was wrong with her as of today she has had five surgeries for that same problem that they could not find this is a sad excuse for a hospital......

The nurses at this hospital need to go back to pre school. They constantly aren’t giving my poor parent pain medicine. Their pain is constantly very high and all the nurses do is argue that they don’t have anyone available to help. Go to the u. Don’t go here if you want good treatment. Update... the nurse forgot to visit my parent two times last night, so they were in terrible pain for hours after the surgery. THE NURSE FORGOT TO GIVE PAIN MEDS TWICE IN ONE NIGHT AFTER A SERIOUS SURGERY... HOW CAN WE PAY THIS HOSPITAL SO MUCH FOR THIS KIND OF TREATMENT All the nurses do hear is complain with people. I hope I never have to deal with this hospital again.

Karyn Nash

This was my third baby. My first two were born at a different hospital and this was by far the most positive experience I’ve had. I was so well taken care of, as was my baby. We were left alone at appropriate times, and checked on when we needed to be. The staff was perfectly pleasant and I can’t recommend this hospital enough.

Derik Cooper

I went in there on October 20 2018 about 8:39 pm complaining of possible kidney stone. I was put in room fairly fast, doctor asked me some questions then nurse "Niki" came in set me up with iv, pain med and oxygen. Then onto ct scan and back to my room. Nurse "Niki" said push this button if you need anything. I pushed button because kidney stones are painful, but "Nurse Niki" wouldn't give more pain med because "your pain won't go away completely". So didn't get any relief from pain until pill before I left. 3-4 hrs later. Why not worry about my comfort?

Devin Peterson

They've been amazing the whole time we've been here (over a month).

Brea White

Absolute garbage hospital. Emergency room is dirty and staff is unprofessional and rude to patients beyond measure. Garbage everywhere, people in dire need of medical attention waiting HOURS to even be seen. They take labs during intake which I found to be absolutely unprofessional and unsanitary especially since the entire waiting room area is beyond disgusting. Do not go here even of you are dying!

Melanie Brown

This is my second review, the last one was also a 1 star. If i could give 0 stars I would. My daughter gave birth here this past weekend. I have never seen such rude inconsiderate, staff in my life. The nurse Daphne told my husband he could not talk to his daughter. Ok whatever. Then to find out they have 1 delivery doctor on call. So when my daughters water breaks and the baby is supposed to come out the 1 doctor is with another patient. "You need to hold the baby in, I'm not going to deliver it for you." She went as far as asking my husband to hold her legs closed so the baby doesn't fall out. The after care was decent, but to get home and find they didn't remove the clamp from her belly button upon being released. " oh they were supposed to do it" so we had to go back there to get it taken off. Shouldn't the care of mom and baby be first priority? I used to love this hospital, recommend it to everyone. Now I wouldn't even tell my worst enemy about this place. I will be sharing my experience with everyone I know, so they can pass it on.

allison nielsen

This is perhaps one of the nicest hospitals I've been to and the staff was very kind and welcoming. Nobody really likes hospitals, but IMC is one of the best in the area. We had to come here on an account of an emergency fracture and the staff moved very quickly and honestly through the procedures. The surgeons and staff are generally all very kind given the circumstances, though I did notice some of the staff members were a bit spacey. My mom, an X-Ray tech, had to help one of the guys X-ray a family friend's foot because he wasn't doing it correctly. Rather embarrassing. But, they seemed to be fairly efficient. The cafeteria boasted some good food options and the hospital was relatively quiet all the time.

Susan Sorenson

My sister was an inpatient for three days and received truly excellent care. Thank you to the extremely professional and compassionate staff!

Holly Shearer

Great hospital

LaPriel Naranjo

The nurses treated my husband well, but the financial department is SO dishonest. I had to take my husband to the ER for what we found out was hypokalemia and he had to be hospitalized overnight. Afterwards, the hospital lied to us and they didn't accept his insurance, even though their website says they do. His insurance had to fight with them just so they could cover part of the huge medical bill. We are still trying to pay off a $7,000 medical bill just for an ER visit and a one night stay with a few infusions. Ridiculous. And they won't work with us on creating a payment plan and keep threatening to send the bill to collections even though we make regular payments. Do not go here!

Davina Rosenauer

The doctors can't get on the same page. Had my baby here last night and it was awful. Nothing was done for my pain and the doctor won't even come talk to me. I really should have had my baby somewhere else

The staff was generally friendly and helpful until discharge and then they were not helpful they were in a hurry to discharge me and get me out of the building once I was discharged and out of the building I had asked person passing by me for a cigarette and was approached by security and told that I had been soliciting and was promptly kicked off the property. I have a bone infection in both of my feet and have to get one of my legs amputated and my original discharge papers had said no weight-bearing on my left leg when I had requested a prescription for crutches the nurse came back with revised discharge papers stating that I had no restrictions on my left foot and they refused to give me a prescription for crutches stating that I was walking around fine when in actuality I am in excruciating pain and I don't have crutches I don't have wheelchair and I don't have any other way of getting around other than walking I was simply requesting a help with the crutches. I have the original discharge papers stating no weight bearing on my foot and then the revised one stating that I had no restrictions. This hospital is a joke and I'm going to complain to not only the hospital but to the local newspapers and government because I was treating so poorly I was not showing any sort of compassion and was actually taunted by security as they watch me crawl to the sidewalk after they kicked me off of their property for soliciting by asking for a cigarette. This place needs a swift kick in the ass and all of their staff needs be told that they're going to lose their leg and see how they deal with it. I'm including a picture of the original discharge papers that I was given that I did not sign stating it no weight bearing on left foot and then the revised saying no restrictions also I am including a picture of the hole in my left foot so that everybody can see exactly what I am dealing with

There's really no good reason that Intermountain Healthcare's flagship hospital should function as poorly as it does. It feels like a disorganized mess. There are some hard-working, extremely intelligent professionals that work here. Unfortunately, they seem as mere points of individual brilliance, and are unable to make up for the systemic problems, or the rudeness and incompetence of other staff. As a whole, each experience we've had when coming here tends rather to leave a bad taste in our mouth when it comes to IMC, where this should be the shining star in the Intermountain firmament. It's challenging to convey all of the ways in which they fall short, so here are a few vignettes to give you an idea: - When my wife came here in April 2016 with overwhelmingly severe pain in her lower back radiating down her legs (as a prelude to a catastrophic neurological disease), they refused to even attempt to control the pain or try to get her comfortable. Nor did they catch the neurological disease, despite the fact that she lost the use of her legs overnight. Over the course of an entire night, she was suffering so severely (pain=10), and their absolute refusal to give her any pain medication was unconscionable. She begged me to take her home against-medical-advice because they wouldn't help her. In the morning, they diagnosed her as merely having "deconditioning" (as though this could make such a dramatic effect overnight) and wanted to send her to a rehabilitation facility for muscle strengthening. Had they dealt with her pain appropriately, they could have discovered and intervened much earlier in the disease which over the next 3 days destroyed her peripheral nerves and caused complete paralysis. - After my wife's surgery in November 2018, she was admitted for an overnight stay late at night (it was supposed to be outpatient, but she had a reaction to the anesthesia). Prior to the surgery, we explicitly went over her home medication list. At admission time, the errors we had corrected just hours before were back in the computer medication list. Unlike our experience at Riverton Hospital, no pharmacist came to our room to go over the medication list upon admission (apparently this is a cost-cutting measure). Several of her critical medications (including her pain medication) were never entered into her chart for the nurses to administer, even though she was medically completely stable. I had to give her her own home medications (with the nurse's knowledge) because they said that it would take hours to get her set up with the proper medication. Worse yet, in the morning, for breakfast, they brought her a tray of food that was not gluten free, despite the fact that celiac disease is clearly listed in her chart and gluten was listed in her allergy profile. If she had eaten it, she would have been vomiting for a month (not an exaggeration!). The next tray of food was brought in and set on the other side of the room. (How is a non-weight-bearing person supposed to go get it?) Also, the nurse aides act as though they've never operated a Hoyer lift. The whole experience just seemed to be quite a mess. Oh yeah, the parking is absolutely and completely insane! You can watch from an upper floor as cars circle around and vie for parking spots. It's almost a sport... If you do go here, you must be extremely vigilant at every turn, because they really are not. Good luck!

The tech who did my MRI was awesome! Kindest most caring Radiology tech I have ever had...But after that it went downhill!!! NOT happy!!!! I had an MRI on Wednesday and told both the woman who made the appointment and the woman who registered me that night that I had a neurology appointment Friday. No problem...HaHa! Except that the gal who registered me also copied discs of prior scans and then left them on the counter with a note that said NOT urgent! So, when I went to the doctor there was a radiology report that DID NOT compare my scans with the "not urgent" ones that I brought in. So, when I went to the doctor today, I was told that because the radiologist (out of no fault of his own) had not done the comparison, the report did not give the doctor the info she needed, etc. Upon going back to IMC I found out that my previous scans had been labeled not urgent and were not uploaded for comparison until after the radiologist wrote report. The gal who helped me today contacted several people and I guess a more accurate report will be forthcoming - but likely not in time for my appointment with my PCP on Monday. Nice experience getting scanned - but lousy follow through after that. And now necessitates making follow-up appointments with doctors I have already made/gone to follow up appointments with.

Got a letter in the mail recently that they didn’t do my son’s newborn hearing test in April, when he was born. Usually a hospital will not discharge a baby until they have passed the test so I was a little annoyed I’m hearing about this 3 months later. So my husband and I Went in today to go get it done and what was suppose to be a short 10-15 minute appointment turned into an hour long appointment. My son, who is 3 months old now, was crying and being very difficult to console. We had to wait for him to calm down so that they could complete the test. Now I see why these tests are done when they’re newborns. My one star rating is for the hospital’s negligence and the audiologist, who by the look on her face, was clearly annoyed with us taking up her time. We get that you are running late for your next appointment, but it’s more inconvenient for us to have to come back to the hospital with our other two kids and my husband leaving work early to go help get a test (that could’ve been done when he was a newborn) done. Super unhappy with our experience here.

this is the worst emergency hospital ever. they lied to us and told us that they had a contract with our network so because of that statement we took their services instead of going to another hospital which we would have done because even though my husband was in major pain 15 minutes of extra driving to another hospital wouldnt have been a big deal at all. and then we received our bill. i called and spoke with billing and i was once again lied to and told i hadnt received a discounted rate because of my high deductible. so i called my insurace they told me this hospital was not in our network and that we had been lied to . i disputed the charges because of the lies and they responded by telling us they have the legal rights to lie to people. Wow! you think a hospital would be the one place that cant lie to you. now im stuck with an almost $3000 bill and my husband still had to go to his regular doctor because what they prescribed him and did . Did not work.

03/12 6:30-7pm — Came into the ER for what I found out was a kidney infection. I checked in, with the very kind staff, as I was a little disoriented, they were very patient with me and showed me where to go and where to wait after they took vitals. I waited no longer than 10-20min before I was taken back for them to ask me what symptoms I was dealing with. Then I was taken to a private room, which I’m not used to where I’m from. I was seen rather quickly by the two nurses that took care of me the entire time. They asked everything that was ailing me, and then administered medication as needed. Thankfully taking away the horrible pain I had been enduring for 4 days. They let me rest as I needed, kept me comfortable, made sure I was completely taken care of, while testing my blood and urine to let me know results. I’m truly thankful for the helpful, kind, courteous and thorough staff. 03/13 12:00pm — Having problems with pharmacies taking my insurance. Went back to the hospital, and again I was taken care of to the fullest extent. Explained my situation to the pharmacist through the pharmacy kiosk. Not only did they get my medicine to me within the hour, but also took care of the majority of the cost. It would’ve been out of pocket $215, that of which I did not have on hand. I’m so grateful for their help. Thank you intermountain medical center.

I needed a neurology test done here, and I was pleased. However, their Emergency Department seemed so poorly coordinated when I came to receive care that I had my husband drive further to a different hospital the next time I needed care. I was not impressed. I would recommend LDS Hospital in the same Intermountain network over the ER here.

We Absolutely loved our experience with Intermountain! The labor and delivery nurses were phenomenal and the facilities were clean and pleasant!

Excellent nurses. Bad communication between doctors and nurses as even the doctor changes each day. Makes everything super confusing! HORRIFIC food! Which is sad because most IHC hospitals have decent food that you can order at your convenience. IMC doesn't. Three meals a day and very few things to choose from. They rarely get your meal right anyway. Beautiful, big rooms! If they could fix the food and communication, it'd be the best hospital in the world!!

If you're suffering and you are an organ donor, DONNOT , I REPEAT DONNOT GO HERE. they will not take care of you .they will part you out heart beating!!! There are far many people who get to be plugged in, when they are in coma to see if they will awaken. This people will not wait a minute.

I have had several very positive experiences at this location. I cannot give you the hours they are open because there are several different doctors offices and Clinics within the same building. One for example, is a Sleep Clinic that is open all night long. They've got plenty of parking and it's easy to see from the road.

It's more affordable to just die. $2900 for some asprin and a doctor to tell me they're not going to do anything. They wouldn't even begin to discuss costs when I went in, saying "Oh yeah, the billing department will handle it". If by handle it they meant rob me of 95% of my worth then yeah, they handled it. Absolutely terrible.
