Has been at hospital for the whole day today. Spent half of time at ER. The team of doctors, nurses, & staffs are knowledgeable and super friendly which made my day went by easier. Today I was back to HM for outpatient treatment. The staffs at outpatient center really make me feel like a home since walking in. Will be back for several more times.

I brought my mother here because she had a fall and hurt her knee. She has not been able to walk for 3 days and she's in bad pain. She lives alone and needs social and medical help. We asked for both and have received nothing. We have been pushed around and gotten many different answers of hope with no results. This ER is all over the place. We got told one thing and another happened. They treated her for a uti and discharged her 15 hours later. Didn't know there was a uti but that didn't fix her knee. Thanks. The knee was xrayed only. The dr said an MRI was needed to find answers on most knee problems but that never happened. When asked, the nurse said he did not order one. Now we are wheeling her out the way she came in with now help. She needs help and they won't do anything. We are frustrated, stressed, exhausted and at a dead end. The chaplain on call has been amazing and tried getting us social work. We asked for it all day and never meet a social worker. So they called one to come in to help her in the morning. We will sit here in the waiting room until 8am hopping they actually come in and can do something. I don't want to take her home to leave her alone unable to walk and take care of herself.

I worked at the TMC in Surgical ICU last year and it was the most soul crushing job that I have ever worked. Management's priority was self preservation at the expense of the nurses, especially in SICU. This was the absolute worst unit in the facility to work. The manager navigated the unit in mute mode. Never did she have a smile, a word of encouragement, or even a hello. I am so glad that I got out of that hell hole and completed my AGNP degree.

I'm rating the ER, where I went today. It was by far the worst experience I ever have had, and I have great insurance. A nurse practioner came and saw me, no Dr. My complaint was numbers, pain down my arm, history of aginoma, stated my pain been getting worse by day, he flat said he couldn't help me. No check ups at all. Except vital signs. How wonder medical care/premiums cost me so much. He said the only way to get an MRI was to have fallen out a 5 star building. So I'm not sure what it would have taken for me to be taken seriously. If it wasn't for messaging a very awesome team of Neuro while in there and walk down to see me I'd be waiting till jan in pain that beings me tears. This is unacceptable. In so many ways, I didn't drive that far, pay all that money, to be seen by a nurse practioner in the er. Ridiculous.

My husband has been a surgical patient twice in Houston Methodist in 2018. He received great care both times. I was also treated very well. Our experience at HM has been good under difficult circumstances.

The American health system hard at work! They don’t care about the patients health, they care about how much they can bill him and his insurance. If you have great insurance they will keep you longer than they need to and if you have none they will push you out. I’d say to avoid this place at all costs but it’s easier said than done! Just don’t listen to a thing they tell you, when they say discharge at 11:50 what they mean is 2:00 because your insurance is great and they got greedy.

Nana Rico

Worst labor and delivery staff ..they dont ask ur name or information when calling to check on a room availability for induction...they have bad attitudes and are only there to collect a check...they huff and puff when asking questions...worst place to have a baby...

Betty Fonville

The folks are just awesome. So caring, and loving. Thank you all for letting God work through you to mend and heal my body.

Mrs. R. Roy

Go here if you want to see your loved one left untreated for 10 hours and die.

Joan Smith-Schrenk

Great doctors, nurses and staff. Room was clean and food very good. Rated best hospital in Texas. I can see why.

Meagan Bray

Had surgery here a week ago. 1. Was place in a double room for surgery recovery. Who does that? I also asked to be moved to a private-- rooms were available and I never moved. 2. My blood pressure rose from 124/63 to 180/100 and my nurse didn't even bother to call my doctor about it. 3. They threw my shoes away. Steve Madden sandals. Just threw them away. This place was unbelievable.

I have had many procedures there. The staff was amazing, very clean and professional facility.

I came here for abdominal pain and a few other symptoms. I went back to the room very quick and the nurses and doctors were very friendly. I got an x ray and the technicians I guess their title is were incredibly friendly and helped me stay comfortable. I declined some medication they tried to give me and they were polite about it and didn’t force me. The only thing negative I would have to say is that my experience with getting my blood drawn and IV put in could be a little better. I’ve had two traumatizing experiences at previous hospitals with getting my blood drawn and an IV put in. I’m always very uncomfortable and scared when I see the bottles or needles I have panic attacks and while I was screaming, crying, and shaking while the nurse was doing what he needed to do they could’ve been a little more comforting towards me. The comments that were said to me just made me feel worse. That’s not a huge deal tho other than that I had a great overall experience here. This is the first hospital I’ve been to that actually gave me a diagnosis and actually made me feel like I know what’s going on with my body after I leave.

Gave birth to my daughter there for Easter 4/21/2019 and may I say that the care we received was the absolute best...the nurses were wonderful and help all day long so does the pca’s. The entire 6th floor deserves an amazing award for welcoming and helpful they were to me and my family. I thank you guys so much for making my delivery a safe and successful one and let me not forget to thank the nicu nurses since my baby is still there you guys are the best and very helpful cause as a new mom I know I’m worried but who isn’t...thank you so much for all you do The Wilson Family

When we discover the truth, it shall set you free. Occultism governs a body indefinitely resetting parameters keeping us bound, or withheld in efforts to support total ignorance. I ventured an expectation, by formerly known M.D. P.H.D whom I considered friends of mine established in reputable science at municipal hospitals; utterly in my astonishment, I was sadly disheartened; I learned they're enslaved as well. "We are not consultants to determine your best benefit, in health and retrospect; we're here in selfishness finding ways that promotes industrialization maintaining political stability for society from a certain government." Power. Influence. Ability. Sorcery. These strategies before our very own eyes, conduct operations in conspiracy, and I will not stand such blasphemy when I've learned knowledge that Our One True King exists. Sound is a lifetime of prophecy. Dwelling within all of us, key fruits of the spirit will mature us spiritually and help channel divinity by fellowship, be it congruence or alone; energy is innate not artificial. We're blinded in logistics, statistics in fact; scientists pledge to oaths egotistical. Doctors say they will, but will not. Prayer should meet supplication in fasting unceasingly. Communication with Your Highness, will be our only deliverance from plagues, generational curses, taboo pacts, etc. Trust me, I trust in The True and Living God. In God We Trust, salute.

I am posting a review because my niece had a negative experience with these people. The doctors in the emergency room are extraordinarily rude. Dr. Rezwan Ahmed has a humongous ego and so does his "secondary neurology" team. I don't know what medical school these people went to or what training these so-called "physicians" had. But all of the doctors had a sadistic bedside manner. If you are needy, they will try to humiliate you and make fun of you! And this hospital overcharges for medical tests. If you dare question or disagree with an incorrect diagnosis the doctors will try to bully you. Avoid this hospital if you can. I am not a person who goes around calling people racist. But the doctors were rude to my niece (who happens to be black/ mixed). And they made derogatory comments to her. The doctors, by the way, were not white people. They are Arab (Rezwan) and Asian (secondary neurology team). And this hospital is very unorganized. While some of the nurses are outstanding, others are barely competent. A nurse tried to run the same blood test twice on my niece for an illness that she did not have. And my niece overhead the nurses at a desk call the patients, "these G-d d-mn people!" because people were asking for medication, food, and clean bedsheets. If you need to go to the emergency room I advise you to choose another hospital in Houston.

I have worked in healthcare for over thirty years in a variety of positions and I have NEVER experienced the level of engagement and compassion as I saw in one overnight stay at Houston Methodist! Everyone, not most, EVERYONE I came in contact with was engaged in our interaction, beyond pleasant and could not have been more helpful. Thank you for far exceeding my expectations!

My wife had surgery here, very thoughtful staff, kept me up to date with her progress. Beautiful buildings, comfortable environment. Thank you so much for all you've done for my family.

Whoever nurse Ann is that works in the Jones tower is rude as hell . She’s tall with glasses and a African or Jamaican accent . She came in with an attitude and was slick talking to me then she stuck me wrong when she was trying to get blood then left out the room with an attitude and didn’t even have the decency to put a bandage on where I was bleeding after she stuck me!!! She needs to find a new job if this ain’t for her. And I called for a nurse for a whole hour and nobody came then I ended up throwing up by time somebody did come and the nurse didn’t even want to bring me new sheets since I got threw up on them ! This was my worse experience ever at Methodist!!!!!

I'm a healthy 42-year old man who recently went to my neighborhood Methodist Hospital Outpatient Emergency Room (in Missouri City, near Sienna Plantation) around 11 pm one evening because I fainted unexpectedly, after getting off my sofa (while walking to the bathroom). I quickly recovered afterward and drove myself to the nearby clinic. I requested the service of speaking with a doctor to see what caused me to faint. The doctor performed some routine test and checked my vitals. She said I needed to perform a CAT (CT) scan in order to determine a potential cause for my issue. After reviewing the results of the CT scan, she told me I needed to have further tests performed at the main Sugar Land Hospital; however, a bed wouldn't be available till around 4 am in the morning. I specifically asked her if it was absolutely necessary for me to go through this extent since every test she performed came out negative. She stated, "You have insurance, right?" I responded, "yes, but I don't feel it was necessary to get more tests performed because I feel fine and I'm scared about receiving a large medical bill later on." She then responded, "not to worry, the reason you have insurance is to cover you in these instances." She then disappeared. After waiting several hours, an ambulance team showed up to take me to the main hospital. The ambulance arrived at the Methodist Sugar Land Hospital around 4 am and a nurse carted me to my room. She told me to get some rest because the doctor won't be able to see you until 1 pm later that afternoon. When the doctor finally arrived to my room she told me they needed to run several tests to determine what caused me to faint. The test she ordered included an MRI, ultrasound, and several others. The last test was performed around 4pm in the afternoon. Then, another doctor returned to my room and stated all of my test came out negative and I was free to go after the paperwork was completed. By 6 pm, I was discharged from the hospital. A month later I started receiving bills from various sources that totaled my out-of-pocket expenses to around $5,000. The actual bill I received from the Sugar Land Hospital stated I was being charged $27,000 for 1-day stay in the hospital, which was not acuate since I was only in the hospital from 4 am to 6 pm. The majority of my time was spent waiting on the doctor to show up. A few weeks later, I also received other bills from the ambulance provider, the radiology company and the outpatient ER clinic. This large financial expense (that I'm now obligated to pay) was exactly what I was trying to avoid if the first place because it wasn't absolutely necessary for them to perform the number tests that were ordered by their doctors. I entrusted their integratey to do what was right and I believe they failed at doing so. It's obvious their intentions were to run up my bill, so they (The Methodist Hospital) could file for services that weren't unwarranted (to my insurance provider). This case is a great example of what's wrong in our society and why we need better statues/laws that protect consumers (and insurance providers) from irresponsible and "greedy" healthcare institutions, like The Methodist Hospital.

Good afternoon to everyone. I just want to inform you about my current situation after my Arterial Embolization surgery on Monday 06/17/19 at 5:30 am. The following day craniotomy surgery Tuesday 06/18/19 from 7:30 am to 12:15 pm. Here at Texas Methodist Hospital 6560 Fannin Hou Tx 77030. One of the most advanced team and with the help of Drs. Specializing with his residence, My Dr. Taylor L. Gist Neurosurgeon and all his team of doctors. All with the help and in the hands of God our Father. They were able to achieve the whole process of marking, piercing and cutting the skull to remove, remove and clean all 99% of the benign tumor, to then cover the skull cut again and place titanium plates to support the skull. They left me in the ICU intensive care floor for the next 2 days. Until Friday, a normal room was up on the 18th floor. No longer connected to many IV'S starting already also with pills, pills, tablets etc. In place of intravenous medications. I already started my diet of solids

Here in the hospital now been waiting on doctors for almost 3 hours to get pain medicine that actually work. You can’t lead medicine if your patients are sitting in pain longer than it it’s takes the meds the meds to kick in.

Bob Kovach

Excellent staff and doctors. I use the blood clinic once a week and I find the staff very caring.

howard hoover

Superb physicians and nurses. Overall staff and volunteers very attentive, pleasant and friendly. If you need serious medical help, this is your best choice...by far!

Had to bring a loved one here who was having cardiac trouble & a hard time breathing. Went to triage, from the sheriff standing outside to the check in desk everyone except 1 person was so unconcerned, they literally did not care. I'm going to get that 1 ladies name that does vitals. She deserves recognition. Everyone else is in the wrong field. I can only imagine how many people hv died there due to their utter lack of concern for patients. No one wanted to do their job. The dr smelled like he just came from happy hour & he was dirty. Throw the whole triage department away!

Ken Radley

Very personable employees and staff

Methodist Hospital is one of the Best hospitals in the world. It has been for many decades, since Dr Debakey & Dr Gotto were there. Although the doctors are not world known as these icons, they do have very good doctors in many specialties.

Marquis

Welcome to Houston! staff at Methodist is nice, friendly, and helpful but for a hospital, I would expect better pest control measures to keep things sanitary especially when on one of the highest floors of the building.

Dustin Landry

I frequent the Methodist Hospital with my grandparents. They always have fast and convenient nurses. I also really enjoy that it's a stop on the MetroRail. It makes getting there to help my grandparents a lot easier.

Everything goes quite well here! The team believes in taking care of they're pts! It might take them a few minutes to complete their tasks cause, everyone is pretty busy trying to take care of everyone that needs care! But, I've enjoyed my stay at both Methothist the Staff's are wonderful every one continues to love and care for everyone on the floors no matter what our conditions maybe we receive the most and care there is to be giving by the entire staff! The love by myself was very appreciated from all the Staff ing hands that helped me in every way! I can't Thank you all enough ! Love Ms. Tamara L. Holmes!

I had several tests done in 2018 and paid for everything up front (as requested). A receipt was issued but no itemized statement was ever sent. I requested an itemized bill which is necessary to submit to my FSA. I asked for it to be mailed but it never arrived. I asked for one to be faxed but it also didn't arrive. Methodist won't email it as it is not HIPAA compliant but this massive institution was unable to send an encrypted email (which is HIPAA compliant). Four telephone calls later and reassurances later, and we have reached the FSA submission deadline so I'm going to be out of pocket for 2018. It will be escalated to a supervision next week (because they don't work after 5PM, even though their billing center hours are 7AM-7PM). If you owe them money you can pay that 24 hours a day because they will definitely have sent you a payment demand! Luckily I will not drive 30 miles to avail of any other services, nor will my own patients as I will not be referring them into the Methodist system when other excellent specialists are available.

Shirin Sharif

They blew my vein trying to take blood. Their system is very disorganized. I've had to call them several time for any single issue or question... very difficult to reach them and get your own results from them.

Tammie Jacks

Staff member named Barbara Faulkner in the OPC 18th floor is so wonderful at her job and was so helpful and kind. She made our family feel so welcome, calmed, and informed the entire time we were there while my son had surgery on 1-31-19.

Ive been a methodist patient for a long time My Primary physician is awesome so as my Derma, Allergy and My regular Mammo check up. But this incident i will not gonna Gonna let this employee fr Employee HEALTH DEPARTMENT at Front desk, She has a very bad nasty customer service I came to help my friend to guide her about methodist but this lady approached us unprofessional, I was coughing and so i ask her a water she has the nerve to tell me that those are for the patient. The number one hospital has the number one nasty employee Ms Susan Balderes at Employee health clinic, If someone is coughing and ask you a water do not say or refuse and explain that those are only for methodist your I CARE INtegrity is missing with your nasty attitude.

Luis Ledesma

Great staff and service

Sylvana Pacheco

I am deeply disappointed. I thought this hospital would stand by their motto and religious stance and provide honest services. First I got a CT scan done in vain by recommendation of my doctor. Secondly I was quoted one amount for a CT scan and paid for it, and now they've come back to charge me an extra $466 dollars on top of what I already paid. Bringing it to a whopping $7,725. I will definitely never return to any of their facilities. Healthcare is out of control.

Jenny Heckathorn

Thank you Jones 11 for taking such good care of my dad, you guys were amazing.

Tami Horton

Walters tower, 19th floor. No nurses to be found at 8pm. Walked the entire floor, (video) not 1 nurse. Heart Patient had to use restroom & pressed nurse button . No one showed up. Patient who cant walk, used plastic urinal & spilled it all over. Still no nurse 30 min later. After an unacceptable amount of time nurse shows up & says she didn't even know the nurse button was pushed. Where the hell were you. Not with other patients. How do you know when no one is at any of the stations on the floor. I called the floor, no answer. You go from ICU to this floor, make sure you have friend or family with you to care for you.

Michael Treadway

Best hospital system in the Houston metro.

Patricia Starr

The facilities are great but some of the staff need better dispositions when dealing with families and friends of patients, not the nurses or doctors they where great but the different departments like reception and respiratory therapy rude rude rude.

Lori Soliz

I can't say enough about this hospital. The doctors, nurses & support staff made all the difference in my father's successful liver & kidney transplant. For at least 10 years we were in and out of this hospital. The physicians and staff always made us feel at ease knowing my dad was in the best care possible. We are forever grateful and highly recommend this hospital for it's professionalism, care and hospitality. It was well worth the 3 hour drive we had to take in order to get him the best care in the world.

jasmine brooks

Worse experience ever. Been here since 10:00pm and it’s 7:22am now. I don’t understand why patients have to wait so long to be seen and then when they see you they want more test and they could have did all the test together instead of waiting and waiting hours and hours. Houston Methodist Hospital I would never recommend to anyone.

Bryan Cox

Everyone is very helpful, wait times are minimal and the hospital has good food in the cafes and the waiting rooms all have fresh drinks of your choice. I am pleased with the staff and their work. God bless all of you. One exception would be, a person in billing called me prior to an operation that was scheduled and told me if I didn't bring 8000.00 dollars they wouldn't do the operation. This of course meant i would die, so naturally i was a little upset. It was mistake on his part but it shouldn't have happened the way it did.

Vonda

My 17 year old daughter had breast reduction surgery and stayed overnight. Every single interaction with every person working for Methodist was amazingly pleasant. Not only was the medical treatment wonderful, but the friendly atmosphere and courtesy that abounded in the place were such a refreshing experience I momentarily considered getting sick and staying for a week, just to be in a place where everyone is so genuinely nice! If I ever have a hospital stay in the future, I'll try to make it at Methodist.

Toni Carcanaques

Houston Methodist Texas Medical Center. The best Drs, Nurses, and PCAs

Shanoe Stafford

The Doctor's & Nurses are Great & even your house keeping when you can get a hold of them. However your management "in charge" floor people some how think they are above everyone else. If you have a concern, its considered as "You" the patient are the problem. I get better customer service & treatment calling down to order my meals

Arlene Coffman

This is the worst care I have seen. The first admission my father had in early March was bad, and this is much worse. We had no choice but to bring him back because of his doctor, but since we have been here in the ED has was placed on a bloody gurney, left in a hallway for 3 hours, and now we are in a turf war between departments. In the meantime my dad is sitting in an ED room waiting on a determination if he needs surgery and no one seems to care. This was all pre-arranged and yet we still sit 7.5 hours with no answers at all. And Methodist states they are leading medicine? Seriously?

Christopher Tucker

I would like to personally recognize Mimosa Vega R.N. in the AOD. She was very nice, hospitable, and kind. I was merely sitting with a patient and she took the time out and asked if I would like a sandwich chips and soda. I know this may not be anything to most, but it was certainly appreciated by me. I think she embodies the I.C.A.R.E model.

Charles Aulbach

Friendly, helpful staff. Anyone there will help you navigate the complex maze of hallways that connect one building to another here (at least 7 + 4 parking garages. Beautiful clean facilities. World class hospital. World class medical care.

Tonya Morrison

Nice inner city hospital. The employees are quality folks.

Stephanie Washington

This Hospital should be embarrassed. It was the most dirtiest hospital I’ve ever been in. My father was admitted there and when we entered the room there were dirty pillows and sheets on the floor and it was full of dirt under his bed. The bathroom had no soap and the counters were filthy. We had to actually ask the front counter for housekeeping to come and finally bring us soap for the bathroom and to come get the dirty disgusting linens and towels off of the floor. I wish he would of been taken somewhere else. Staff aren’t very friendly either.

Jo Anne Banks

Have have stayed at the hospital on a couple of occasions and every time I am confident I have received the best treatment available. Their doctors and other staff are always knowledgeable, cordial and willing to answer or find an answer to all your concerns.

Sharon Edenburg

The facility is clean but the billing can use some help.

Venetric Faye

THIS HOSPITAL WAS THE WORST! I WENT 8 HOURS WITHOUT STAFF CHECKING ON ME, STAINED BLOODY TOWELS IN THE SHOWER, AFTER MY SURGERY I DID NOT GET THE PAIN MEDS I NEEDED AND ENDED UP HAVING TO STAY AND EXTRA 3 DAYS, THE PCA'S TOOK BETTER CARE OF ME THAN THE NURSES, CHARGE NURSE SAID SHE WOULD HANDLE IT DON'T LOOK LIKE SHE DID HAD TO SPEAK TO THE NURSE MANAGER. MY STAY WAS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!!

Kimberly Paymaster

I'm giving 4 stars because the staff and doctors where Great, rooms where clean, everyone was super friendly, my only problem was the fees for parking. I feel like if I need to stay and make sure my loved ones or who ever is going to be okay, then why charge so much just to step foot into the building, and Lord forbid I have to leave to get a bite to eat or anything, I get charged all over again 50 bucks in 4 days is ridiculous just to be able to visit my family. Oh make sure Everyone rides together if You have different work schedules, each car that goes through that parking garage no matter how long Your there. I just think it's greedy on the hospitals part, when Your already stressed out that Your Loved ones may die.

Yolanda Casiano

If I could give Methodist Hospital, a 0, instead of a 1 due to having the worst Communication with the family of the Patient. Let me explain why? my brother was a patient at Methodist Hospital all the Medical Staff (Dr's) there have no Customer service skills. They are very RUDE or didn't explain what the situation is when it comes to asking them a Question about my brothers care we were told I don't know or let me direct you to the right person. I was so deceived by how this Hospital is very Unorganized with the Staff. I don't know why they say this Hospital is the best Hospital in the World I don't agree with it being the best and the care you get isn't always warm. The Nurses that are from another part of the Country Don't speak very good English and don't speak very good English. To me they aren't as Compassionate as the nurses in the ER they are compassionate and caring and get the message back like a Professional medical care that should be on all floors. I hope that this Hospital retrains the nurses that have no Patient skills and to be more Compassionate and caring. Because to me they are there lacking skills to be a Nurse and are there for the Paycheck we didn't get a warm feeling there at Methodist. I can see we're not the only ones who felt this way about Methodist. Hopefully the Hospital can be more Observent on how things are being done there!

Shari Caldwell

Due to a medical emergency, on Saturday night I found myself at the Methodist Emergency Center off of 59 and Kirby. I was quickly checked in and within 5 to 6 minutes I was already called back and put in an exam room where the WONDERFUL Nursing staff went to work, the problem came when the Doctor walked in the room. He never addressed anything but asked had I taken anything and what was I on . . . inferring that I was on drugs (which I have never used). So after a few test the Doctor realized I was actually sick and suggested that I should go to the hospital, never addressing my medical problem. The Head Nurse saw the agony I was in and swiftly got on the phone, and within minutes, before my husband and I could decide if I should go, she had the ambulance on the way as well as a room for me once I got to the hospital (how I wish I could remember her name). Once I go to the hospital the problem with the Doctors just got worse. After I was in my room, the day nurse Trisha came on duty with Brenda, my PCA, and they were the BEST they keep me calm, did whatever they could, made sure I was as comfortable as possible and was always checking on me. As for the Doctor I NEVER saw him/her and the worst part is they actually came to my floor saw other patients and then just left. The nursing staff kept reassuring me that they were coming but the docs never did. After over 16 hours of waiting, and I respectfully checked myself out and made an appointment with my own Doctor who saw me that very morning and did what the MD staff at Methodist did not, which was take the time to care for my medical needs. Why go to medical school if you aren’t willing to help those in need of medical help? The way I was treated was completely unacceptable; I will from now on ONLY go to Memorial Hermann and suggest you all do the same. As for all the hype that Methodist announces; they are the number one hospital for this and the number one hospital for that, they forgot the most important that that they want to be number one in and that is patient care and caring for their medical needs they need to go back to the table and shriving to be the number one in that.

EDIT: I recently discovered a bad review was written on my behalf by an angry friend using my account for the Texas Children's Hospital which was NOT written by me. However, the words below, are in fact my own and I would deeply like to thank Methodist once again for their care. At the time that I fainted I was attempting to work two jobs (one of which was at TCH) and my body just couldn't handle it. I resigned of my own free will in large part because of that. I apologize for the mess and hold myself accountable for letting this happen when it shouldn't have. ---- I fainted on a gravel parking lot due to exhaustion/low blood pressure due to my attempts at trying to work a fast paced retail job on top of another fast paced retail job at Texas Children's Hospital even though I was clearly ill. I was thankfully wheeled into Methodist for an EKG and Cat Scan. Not only is it hard for machines to get a reading on my blood pressure, but drawing blood is almost always a problem. While the nurses who attended me failed to get a read they kindly used an ultrasound instead of poking me a thousand times with a needle which has happened many times in the past. They were also very responsive with my issues, especially considering the sheer amount of patients they already had to deal with. A definite 4/5 stars!

I am a double lung Transplant patient. During my extended illness, I've been admitted to many hospitals, Methodist among them. I'm now on day 20 of this "extended vacation," now not being able to leave until after my Transplant surgery. If this place was like many, it would be grim indeed. But everyone, and I do mean everyone, on the staff goes out of their way to make sure you're comfortable and as happy as can be. That includes family and caregivers staying with the patients. There really is exceptional care here. The rooms are comfortable, with homey furniture and lighting. There's even DVD player and VCR. I will say my view is of another building, which is not very appealing, but that's OK. All in all, I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone.

Geoffrey Ott

The grill station is always closed even if there is staff behind counter. Seems like staff never wants to cook food unless its using the fryer. The only cook who is reliable is named John an elderly man. Sirosly it's sad to see a company like Methodist having Walmart ethics in hiring.

Arjumand Mubaarak

Great service and attitudes. Thanks.

Fantastic events for healthcare professionals. Keep it up Methodist.

There the best in my opinion...

I have had about 30 surgeries throughout my lifetime to ameliorate my facial anomoly and this is by far the worst hospital I have ever been to. This hospital is violating HIPPA laws by having their cubicle billing area located in each waiting room of the outpatient center. From the back of the waiting room (on the 22nd floor), you are able to hear everyone's HIPPA information being discussed as clear as day. I was late for surgery on the day of my procedure due to the billing lady taking an hour per patient to check them in and deal with billing issues. She belittled me and everyone that came before me trying to manipulate each one of us to pay upfront for our procedure. I was threatened that if I didn't pay, I wasn't able to have my procedure. When I explained to her that I was never notified of payment prior to my procedure, she scorned at me. It wasn't until my doctor came out asking me why I was still in the waiting room and not already prepped for surgery (as he just finished with his prior surgery and was on a tight schedule), that something got done. I was rushed to get ready due to the hospital's error. I even had to change while the nurse was in the room because "there isn't any time and I need to ask you questions." In addition, I was belittled by my anesthesiologist, Margarita Martirena, and told that "You are not having a baby; stop breathing like that" and "a child that I just saw could do this and you can't." This is unprofessional behavior. When I brought up all these concerns with Jan in the 'quality of care department' I was victim blamed ("Why didn't you bring up these concerns earlier?" "Did she really say that?", etc.) and told there was nothing they can do to help me. This is not an adequate response coming from a top rated hospital that prides themselves on patient care. In addition, when I questioned the charges on my account, they immediately sent my bill to collections rather than help me understand my billing charges. When I found several overcharges for several medications (billing more for the quantity when I received less according to my medical records) and time in the OR/Recovery Room (over billing operation room time when I was really in the recovery room), they tried to cover them up rather than admit to their unethical mistakes. I kept a tape recorder in my pocket and have all my conversations recorded during my hospital visit and thereafter and I suggest you do the same. Also, please get a copy of your itemized bill and your medical records and compare them. 80% of the time you will find several errors as this hospital only cares about making a dollar rather than helping people. From now on I will stay away from Methodist at all costs as I know that other hospital and outpatient facilities put their patients first, which this hospital seems to not know how to do.

Steven Jepsen

One star due to INSANE prices for tests. All doctors refer you to HM testings centers who charge between 7x and 10x more than a third party clinic. Such as Conroe open MRI. THis is after insurance.

Elchin Bagirov

Hate this place. All they think, how to cheat and take more money/ I paid upfront full amount. Week later they sent me a bill with amount - 2 times higher, I paid. They don't want to talk. Don't reply to letters. Stay away from those predators

David Flower

The emergency department is honorable they treat you like a number u get pushed into a room with other sick people a d u wait for hours. I was there 4 hours before I even got seen by a nurse except for triage desk. It was a horrible experience

Josephina Barrera

They always are rude when they answer the phone. And I literally get hung up on every single time! They say hold for just a moment and hang up! Every damn time.

Stephanie Flores

I absolutely hated this hospital so much! I have no idea why the ex president would go here. The valet is the absolute worst, it is such a simple job and they can not even do that right. I waited an hour to get my car back I should have gotten a refund that is a ridiculous amount of time to wait. And the staff in the cafeteria are so rude and look like they don't even want to be there. People like that should not even have a job, there are plenty of people who would do a much better job then the employees currently working there.

Paul Hart

I rather go to ben taub psych ward then methodist because I was having a real nervous break some of the nurses in the emergency room make fun of you behind your back. I will never go there for anything ever again.

Tina Nguyen

Great service and makes sure that you come in and out efficiently !

Stacy Cooper

Best hospital to go to for nursing care!

Wanda Cook

Dr Volionnis Dr Ping Nurse Delia Nurse Star took wonderful care of me in 2010 when I had cancer. ..God Bless them...As well as Dr Pings staff....6 month treatments.....LOVE YOU ALL

Mary Davis

My care at Houston Methodist Medical Centet was excellent. The staff was professional. I appreciated the follow up call after going home. I would recommend this hospital.

Bunnylove Cashflow

It is a beautiful hospital.

cortney harris

THE ABSOLUTE WORST IN PATIENT CARE! Never again will I bother with them...sat for hours for no reason never received any doctors advice. Had to beg a nurse to take out my IV and finally we just walked out. No discharge orders...hell they couldn't even find the Doctor! I spent 7 hrs in the ER and still dont know what's wrong!

Rhonda Garner

My father was transferred after his acute Leukemia diagnosis to Houston Methodist where they saved his life within hours of him losing it. Along with fighting cancer, there were residual complications that threatened his life and brought other specialty physicians together to work as a team to save his life. We are going on day 84, but the persistance, intelligence, teamwork and hard work of the physicians at Houston Methodist, Dad is still with us. It's not just physicians, but almost every person from the ones bringing food, cleaning the rooms, the PCA's, the nurses and the ICU teams have been amazing! We are so thankful for a great experience at this hospital and give it two thumbs up!

Lorenzo Lawson

Great I CARE Values

Rosemary Gutierrez

Very disappointed in this hospital ! If you have to choose go to Methodist in sugerland or Katy those are the best !

Kevin Martin

This place is a wreck. We are from cleveland came here due to an emergency the waiting room was disgusting and 60 degrees in addiction to the restrooms being filthy. Wife had to have a ct scan but they never could give us the results after waiting 6 hours. Had to leave to catch our flight only to call the next day and we must request the records which will take around 15 days. Glad to know if your wife has a brain eating bacteria you're left wondering for over 2 weeks. Avoid this place at all costs and go somewhere reputable. Don't bother sending me a bill we aren't paying.

lea santos

The nurses, doctors and staff are truly wonderful! Efficient, intelligent & kind. The facility is very nice & food was really good. Unfortunately the billing department doesn't even come close to being wonderful. I got a call the afternoon before my procedure the next morning telling me I owed over $2000 for this procedure. The strong implication was that I would not be able to have the procedure without paying up front. When I objected to having to pay up front before my insurance company had reviewed & issued my explanation of benefits, I was told I could pay 60%. Since I felt like I had a gun to my head, I did that only to find out later that the 60% payment exceeded my deductible. I complained to the business department and was told that the representative that called me was following her "script". When I asked if I would have been denied the procedure, I was told no but the rep could only "offer" me a 60% payment. If I had told her I was unable to pay then she would have transferred me to someone to arrange payments. Lesson learned - I will always tell them I need to make other payment arrangements in the future. Their policy is to collect up front & issue refunds later :( If everything else had not gone so well, I would be switching providers.

Lucy Foreman

It’s good having a doctor who listens

Juan Manuel Martinez

World's most expensive health care system & Houston's Medical Center's best available care is at this Church Hospital (St Luke's maybe tied). It is what is is.

Cynthia Berrones

Worst experience ever. I will never come back to this place because they do not care about the patients. Nurses were nice but the Doctor who saw me did not care leaving me in pain sent me home in alot of pain.

Donnie Phillips

Great doctor and nursing and food

patricia pate

This is such a wonderful hospital. The nurses, doctors, all staff are so professional, competent and willing to help. Trust is a big issue and I trust them explicitly! !

Mi Rich1

Alkek 7th floor is extremely slow with caring for patients. Call for assistance and wait and wait and wait and nobody shows up until it’s time for vitals to be checked or time for medicine. Obviously the patients needs are not a priority...

Lioncita 24

We initially went to Texas Children's Hospital. And a nurse actually suggested we come to Methodist Hospital, where they took her into an examination room and started IV and medication right away. The nurses and the whole staff was so caring and understanding and most of all compassionate. They worked fast to comfort my daughter that was in agonizing pain. I have nothing but good things to say about everyone in the staff from admission, x-ray, Sonogram and nurse.

Stephen Winkles

The absolute worst x-ray experience. I waited 40mins to get 2 pictures done on my back and was 1st in line with no one occupying the rooms ahead of me. I had to remind the desk that I was waiting and that my appt was 40min ago

Jean Hunter

I started with a very good view of Methodist (based on doing Grand Rounds in Orthopedics with friends) until a recent procedure done there. The day after the procedure I had a very bad reaction. No call to check on me. My urologist said that I should get information on the anesthesia I had for future reference. I contacted Medical Records and filled out and sent the request form. Waited three months and then called. Phone system not user friendly - after about fifteen minutes got the mailbox for Medical Records and left a message. Called the next day - mailbox full. Tried to call administration - never heard back when left message. At my wit's end. I don't think I would go to them to have a procedure done again.

Bill Darnall

My dad is in the Walter tower, on the neurological floor. The staff is unbelievably friendly, and the care is beyond excellent. They're taking great care of my mom who is staying in the room with him, I wouldn't want my parents to be anywhere else.

Shiv Pathak

If there was an option for 0 or negative starts, that's what they are worth. The hospital is all about making money and generating profit. There is no 'service' angle in their medical services, only profit counts because everyone has their goal to meet by ethical or unethical means. The most disturbing and unethical practice, which hurts patient financially, by this hospital is that it bills you for the services without performing them. I had such experience twice and have decided to stop going there in future. Both the occasions they did not listen or try try to fix their mistake. On the other hand, so far I had extremely good experience with the other equally large and diverse hospital in Houston - Memorial Herman who always have patient service as heir top priority.

Chris Lahiri

Disappointing. Nurse gave my mom the flu due to unhygienic practices. We suspect her wallet was stolen out of her purse while getting a CT scan. Seriously, couldn’t have had a worse experience in this aging institution. Doesn’t live up to its reputation. Update: Wallet was found by a police officer nearby and confirmed stolen. All that was missing was a few bucks cash. We suspect staff.

Rach Daugherty

Worst Hospital Ever!!!! People here don’t care about you!!! and some of the stuff are very rude.. I feel like leaving this horrible place.

Ralph McDonald

Shows ultimate care and compassion for all patients and visitors.

Hilda Cativo

Excellent staff, very friendly and professional, my mother is in SICU nurses are super nice and wonderful!

Deborah Somoye

It was a nice experience in this building...saw so many store, food place ,its very neat and well organised...the hospital is in surlock towers..

Wura

This is an amazing hospital. They saved my life. I would definitely come here again. I still want to come back to say thank you to everyone. I was rushed in the summer (cardiac arrest,) though I survived. The ER is very clean and so is psychiatric.

Abe Hernandez

The very best.

corey phelps

6hrs and over 2k and they couldn't tell me any thing and my issues / problem is still going on and no answers. didn't even seem like they tried or cared. Worst hospital I have ever been to do not go.avoid at all cost unless u want to waist your time and money. Other issues.....bathroom in waiting area.... Non working sink( can't wash you're hands and the paper towel dispenser didn't work) they treat you like a number not a person.

Clarence Henry

My wife and I had to go to the Houston Medical Center for a doctor's appointment at St.Lukes and being from Conroe,we were not use to attempting to find our way around when we came across Margaret Goodrich, who was with Houston Methodist Hospital. She jumped in with both feet and took us right where we needed to go and we are so appreciative and felt it absolutely necessary to inform the world! She went totally out of her way to help us. Our sincerest thanks goes out to this wonderful person!

boblin omondi

Respectfully handles patients.

John Watkins

This is a 'hospital' that is trying to kill a conscious patient, David Christopher Dunn, simply because he is costing them too much in terms of profit. Dunn has been pleading for his life, and each time, the Administrators have refused his pleas, going to court to enforce their decision to remove his treatments. I guess this is what Methodists call 'Christianity'. Don't go here if you want to live!

Trudy Landreneau

No stars... Horrible service and accommodations. Semi-private rooms and filthy. Even the windows looking out of Room 370 were MOLDY. The chairs had not been moved to mop. Divider curtain was on backwards so could not snap together for privacy and the nurses laughed. It's just so pitiful.

Chelenski Cyprien

This was by far one of the most disappointing and frustrating experiences ever. The lines of communication at Methodist are simply unacceptable and deplorable. The events went as follows: 1. ER Dr. finally came after 3 hours ...the night nurse was great and made up for that 2. Patient was admitted and sent to his room and the room was not ready (that was okay BUT) 3. Patient could hear workers fussing, laughing and discussing the situation loudly as he lay in the hallway 4. Patient finally got in the room and had to move himself from one bed to the other in spite of the fact that the task exacerbated the pain 5. Nurse Phung came in speaking loudly and unprofessionally just RUDE. I became respectfully assertive as well. The patient needed help and she was LESS THAN CONCERNED 6. When asked to do ANYTHING she was rude and nasty 7. The Director of Nursing had to be contacted to get meds and attention (Julian/Director was very attentive and professional during the process) Things got done. 8. Fast forward to the next day and start the battle again....YES BATTLE 9. ASK FOR HELP FROM ONE DEPT. AND THEY TELL YOU WHAT THE OTHER DEPT. IS NOT DOING In the mean time, the patient suffers because he is told that no one can make contact with the pharmacy AND no one knows how to operate the PCA pump 10. The Director assists again 11. Meds arrive almost instantly when the Director is mentioned 12. All of a sudden one of the workers who could not operate the PCA miraculously learned the process Through all of these acts, the patient suffered and was neglected. This experience was more than a notion. It is so sad and unacceptable that the culture of the staff in this hospital is not patient centered. DIFFERENT FLOORS SAME CULTURE. I don’t care must be the staff motto. There were a few good staffers. But, the less than desirable staff members drowned them out. Things must get better here. People die needlessly when there is a lack of communication and a sense of who gives a rats tail among some staff members.

Michael McGuire

One of the top cancer hospitals in Houston. Excellent doctors. Orthopedic practice is also one of the best in the USA. Has the Texans, Rockets, Astros and the Symphony and Ballet as their customers. Good place to come for world class doctors and surgeons.

Pamela Jack

This facility and all staff from surgeons to those who meticulously ensured our room was clean were world class top notch 5 star to be sure. We were treated like treasured family. Staff endlessly went out of their way to make sure we were as comfortable as possible, which was challenging because we were there for full open heart surgery. Facilities were state of the art, and all personnel were knowledgeable and over the top friendly. If you need medical treatment and have the option to choose this facility, JUST DO IT. And, to the admin staff member who bought me dinner on July 1st, around 5:30 pm in the Marketplace, you will never know just how much your random act of kindness blessed me. God is good... All the time. Thank you!

Great place to work

#1HOSPITAL IN THE STATE OF TEXAS

lisa johnson

I've been doing labs on Mondays & have had to wait over 2 hours every week. They call on patient every 15 to 20 minutes. They should have someone in every room taking blood & it would go a lot faster. I've been in pain sitting & waiting. Can't take any pain Meds until I give blood. Something needs to be done.

Alem Jemaneh

Best place to go when you sick

Ro Spilly

Professional, classy and everyone is so helpful. The food is excellent too.

candy shaday

Mr.Marc Bloom your pbx operator stated she does not know anyone name in depts only station numbers. asked supervisor's name for ER SHE STATED WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO TELL YOU ANY NAMES.(AFTER STATING BEFORE SHE DIDNT KNOW ANY NAMES. COMMUNICATION IS SO-----------I DONT KNOW A WORD IN THE DICTIONARY TO DESCRIBE HOW THE STAFF TALK TO THE FAMILY ETC..and i myself worked in nursing over 50 yrs. Where is the love of your fellow man-kind? IF THIS WAS ONE OF YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS WOULD YOU GET THE SAME FEEDBACK? RATING PASS-0000+

Karim Salem

Worst hospital I ever visited horrible service and worst doctors i ever seen .. I will not suggest anyone to go there .

Umar Chaudhry

The medical staff here are very scholarly and far beyond any other on knowledge and experience.

Debbie

This is my second inpatient stay at Methodist for Myasthenia Gravis and GI symptoms related to my Nissen Fundoplication, Gerd, and Autoimmune Disease. I have also been in MD Anderson Numerous Times as well. I can honestly say that the care I have received at Methodist far exceeds that in which I received at MD Anderson. Outpatient at Anderson is good but inpatient care is just so poor with the exception of the Cardiothoracic unit which is excellent . The nursing care is so compassionate, and thorough. The nurses and techs are very knowledgeable about Myasthenia Gravis and Autoimmune Disease which makes my stay safe. There are special considerations with Myasthenia for medications and care. It seems because of their Neuro Specialized Care staff in all departments are educated in the disease process and special considerations due to MG . My Neurologists Dr. Nakawa is so knowledgeable, kind, and compassionate. He listens to me and always returns my calls when I have a problem. My GI doctor Dr. Reka Mathur is the nicest doctor you would want to meet and so thorough she just plane smart. The GI unit where they perform EGD and Colonoscopy is filled with the nicest staff ever. For something that could be so unpleasant it was just a piece of cake . No problem, fear or discomfort at all. I can’t say enough about the care I receive at Methodist. I have yet to meet anyone unkind or friendly. The patient is always first for sure.

Walter Jones

Awesome Hospital ! ...they give me a lung transplant July 25th 2015 and have taken very good care of me ever since, I highly recommend this Hospital to all !

Chris Rierson

What fantastic care my husband recieved. From the very first person we came into contact with to the last all were exceptional. We would especially like to acknowledge and thank nurses from the outpatient surgery area: Debra, Mary L., and Jenny.

Ali Rock

Some of the nursing staff are very caring yet Some staff could care less about your well being in the emergency room .I came in and left in the same amount of pain. Use up your insurance and get nothing out of it.. I will avoid the emergency room and you should also. In patient care in while admitted is great but its the terrible hump to get over in the ER room.....Avoid!!! Avoid!!! Im writing this as im waiting for my ride to come back from humble and I was just told to leave with apparently some homeless individuals by rude security. Be careful and wear a suit and tie because you will be treated as homeless. Upon having to be put through a question and answer session and having to threaten to speak with the hospital director about assuming everyone in the waiting room is homeless I was told I didnt have to sit outside on a bench at 5 am to wait for my ride back to humble SMH.. People shouldn't have to go through this at a hospital that has such a name as this.....Avoid this location

Mike Comte

Saved my life TWICE.

Asif Ali

Had to take my son there in 2016. Provided them with his Medicaid card. In 2017 they send me a bill 577 with 288.50 discount and I have to pay 288.50. I connected them with Medicaid CSR at one point, they verified everything looks good in both systems but now they say cuase the time frame for filling a claim to Medicaid is past, I have no way but to pay them the balance. Be careful people when you go there. THEY ARE FRAUDS, THEY STILL FROM YOU WITH MODERN AND KINDA LEGAL WAYS. I feel sorry for them that they couldn’t verify my sons coverage while having the copy of the Medicaid card with them. HOUSTON METHOSCAMS!!!!

Sean Sasafraz

Facility looks nice, staff is nice as well. But Hospital does not offer same level of cancer treatment as other facilities, though they claim to. Do not offer 7 day a week outpatient care. If you need certain infusions over the weekend or holiday you have to be admitted for 23 hour observation(shame cancer and infection s don't work banker's hours). If you are late for your appointment say over an hour you have to reschedule, but if they ask you to come in earlier and you do, then you have to wait on them for over an hour.

Brian Neuenfeldt

Very caring and attentive staff. Outstanding care before and after surgery. Recovery room nurse was amazing. Could not ask for a more capable, competent or caring surgeon. The room was a bit small and older, but clean and well organized.

Tonya Henry

Did not enjoy being referred here and if I can help it will never go back. Was referred by MD Anderson for surgery and the dr was not patient friendly. Was told that due ti my conditions I'd be there til pain was controlled about four to five days. Did not happen. They tried to force me out after one night. I could not walk or turn without feeling like I was dying. Saw him a week later for post-op and he said he didn't know why I was un so much pain. Also stated he didn't need to see me again since I lived almost four hrs away. My condition was not stable but that didn't seem to matter. Not easy to get records or phone calls returned either. Staff for outpatient or inpatient is not caring or up to standard. If you are hospitalized, be prepared to pay for parking each day too.

Timothy Sanders

Great patient care

Ham String

Best hospital in TX. Saved my life. I have had two surgeries here. Found the best surgeon, and doctor here. I trust these doctors with my life. The facility was nice, the nurses and staff were very helpful and kind.

Dixie Wood

Absolutely the best hospital and staff.

Carrie Ogilvie

I received Concierge care during my recent stay at Methodist. Everyone was on their game and provided excellent care. Very impressive place

erick baez

staff seems nice but the room is run down and dirty. I just got transferred from Methodist west. There's a night and day difference. Not what I expected. old is one thing but dirty and not maintained are another. Speaking of the Dunn building. I kind of feel like I am in a cheesy motel in a movie. I sure the staff and Doctors are competent wich is why am here for. it just the room doesn't reflect the reputation.

Stefani Rose

I was a patient in the (I believe) West wing psychiatric ward. I Loved everyone there, especially the specific nurse Josh, and the PT's. I was sad to say goodbye to everyone there, but I am thankful for all they've done. (Did not enjoy the bills though)

Danny Dlove

Best hospital to get medical care. Professional doctors and nurses.

Mae Y

My doctor let me wait 1.5 hrs and only talk with me for 5mins. She refused to give a copy of my lab results. The medical record department is also horrible.

Sonia Trevino

We had a 9 day stay after surgery and I can say that it was a pleasant one. The staff at this hospital are very nice and efficient. They are quick to accommodate any requests. It’s also clean and their is good food choices in the cafeteria.

gemini 70506

Your Willowbrook facility is horrible. Unable to reach the doctor's office or speak with a nurse. Get forwarded to voice mail hell and never receive a return phone call. Scheduled an appointment with doctor only to find out he was on vacation. Scheduled an MRI, as directed by the physician, with the scheduling department. Received a call before the day of the procedure only to discover that the doctor had not made appropriate arrangements with the insurance company. Lack of communication from this facility. The doctor was unavailable 2 consecutive days to attend to this matter. Today, I am seeing my family physician to begin the process all over again.

Charles Knoles

I had a great surgeon did an incredible job repairing my 4th major hernia, but at 59 years old I needed a little help trying to get long time disability as my job is very labor intensive he refused to cooperate with the LTD insurance company

aaron sewell

While the nurses are top quality and caring, not much could be said for the rooms and administration of the hospital. I was in the Jones building for 5 horrible days. The a/c system was not working and despite having the thermostat on 70 the room was still 80 decrees. The initial response to try and resolve the a/c issue was to tell me to have a family member bring a fan for me for home. Finally after requesting for maintenance 4 times, they finally came and advised the nurses and hospital staff to move me out of the room. Even my doctors were very upset that I was in a room with no proper working a/c. The hospital changed my room 3 times, and each room had the same problem. The hospital seemed to only transfer me within the Jones building and not to another part of the hospital in which did not have theses issues. I am sure if I was a politician, celebrity or person of wealth I never would had been assigned a room within the Jones building. It seems Methodist reserves their better rooms for those that was more than willing to pay for their "deluxe suites". I spoke with the patient advocate on several occasions and the only assistance they could offer was to provide my family members with one day free valet parking. I had to check out of Methodist and re-admit to St. Lukes Hospital just so I could properly recover from surgery. If you have to be admitted to Methodist in the Texas Medical Center just make sure they do not assign you a room within the Jones or Main buildings.

James Daley

Great care and always maintained contact with patient.

Jonathan Arnold

I was surprised to see any negative reviews when I opened the google listing. I just spent 2 days at Methodist Hospital while my girlfriend was being treated in cardiology on the 10th floor of Dunn Tower. I couldn't think of a negative thing to say if I tried. All the doctors (we visited with 3 specialists on the 10th floor alone, after having met with different doctors in the ER earlier. Getting that many opinions definitely makes you feel good about the diagnosis, or maybe well-informed is a better choice of words). They also took the time to explain exactly why they eliminated possible diagnoses along the way. They had multiple levels of care working at the same time, doctors, nurses, caretakers, and even the Chaplain were constantly checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. They brought us pitchers of water, all her meals, extra blankets, pillows, etc. There wasn't a single request they did not accommodate and they did so in the fastest possible manner. They took their time, and they were very careful and thorough, and as soon as they were confident in their assessment they helped us get back home as quick as possible. There was even a small orchestra/large band playing in the lobby as we left. A special thanks to nurses Ruby, Coty, and Allysa for being so kind and amazing. Every single employee we met was great, these just happened to be the nurses assigned to us. And one last thanks to our other nurse Latoya for being so friendly and outgoing with the best smile on the floor and actually getting to know her patients on a personal level and really making a connection with them! Methodist, please take care of these nurses, they are awesome!! My mother battled leukemia for 20 years (not at Methodist) and I am all too familiar with the difference that staff attitude and courtesy can make. It can turn a scary/traumatic experience and make it pleasurable, and as far as their attitude and courtesy, we give Methodist an A+. It's the kind of thing where you hope you never have to go through it again, but if we do, I hope we are at Methodist! It was like a hotel stay, where we were also treated medically, and that's the best you can expect from any hospital. *Houston needs to figure out what the hell they are doing with that commuter tram that runs in front of the parking garage. If it's illegal for cars to "block the box" at intersections, i don't know how the city thinks it's okay to have their tram running red lights. If the light turns green for motorists and pedestrians, nobody should have to worry about a DAMN TRAIN running a red light and coming through the intersection. Not the hospital's fault at all, but it seems like a pretty big deal. C'mon Houston, if our hospitals are doing this good of a job taking care of us, we need to do better for them! City/Local governments have been handling this problem successfully for decades; if a train is passing, flashing barriers come down which prevent any cross-traffic. Is the city of Houston familiar with this technology? I'm sure a lot of people will think I'm being ridiculous, but I promise you would understand if you had spent 2 days worrying that your loved one had developed a freak heart condition, then get great news and a treatment plan, only to almost DIE when a TRAIN comes through an intersection illegally and almost takes you out.

Belinda Harper

Wow! Drove 2 1/2 hours because this hospital is supposed to put our Lake Charles emergency rooms to shame! What a crock!!! Rude staff unorganized staff. Stay home, not worth the drive!!! Shift change here means we cannot be bothered with you. Bright side of staff change is fingers crossed we get better staff!

Kiesha MacLean

Dear Billing Dept, Please send me ONE consolidated bill for my charges. Every month, despite calls to you telling me I have to call some billing company outside of Texas, I receive 8 bills with the same account number. Call me crazy, but this would end up having to be paid by an increase in patient costs if you mail 8 bills to every patient. Do you really need to spend 0.49 cents to bill me for 0.31 cents?! We love your MDs, staff and have nothing but great things to say about your hospital. This is really poor customer service...billing is the weak link of an otherwise awesome hospital!

Rickjamesrodriguez Annalisa12

My mother in law is in hospice here in Methodist we were a little traumatized with the first nurse we got, she very ruff and rude and insensitive then we were blessed with a great nurse named Edgar he is the best!! He has been extremely attentive prompt caring respectful he is truly a blessing

KEITH DEVORE

Was here on an X-Ray visit for my 12 year old Son Texas J&M and the visit was great right along with the fine folks that worked there.

Christy Justice

Great place to work

Adam Wilson

I came to the ER with a broken wrist, and got top-notch service the whole time

Tyryn Allen

They discharge and forgot i was even in there over 24 hours

Danny Davis JR

They do have some great doctors and some great* staff please do not come here unless* in a emergency I have had and continued to have strange experiences in a particular part of the hospital (4 dunn tower supposedly a transplant floor) nurses gossip about patients private affairs endlessly at night in the tower do not come here unless it is a emergency

HG mccune

They call me over and over for a woman named Karen. Every department does. I don't know Karen. I can't get them to take my phone number out of their system. They don't communicate between departments. I now know what kind of medical condition she has because they left it on my voicemail, which violates HIPPA guidelines.

George Andrade

We put my grandma here and every day was a pain. The other reviewers are right about this place, avoid at all cost. Not only are they getting paid very well, but they absolutely do not care. My grandma was not being fed until the nurses were yelled at, there was not one person there that knew her situation. The finale was that they told her she was ready to go home, we packed her bags, then were told they made a mistake that they read the wrong patient, and then three hours later told us she was ready to go home again. I can't believe they still call this a business. Avoid this hospital at all cost, nobody here cares about their patients, it's just another job.

Anthea Bettina

Friendly, helpful staff.

Everything was completely excellent, prompt and professional. My Husband was admitted in the observation unit 5/21/13, His RN was Todd.A, I just want to let everyone know he is a great Nurse!!! He was on top of his game, He did not forget about my husband in room 362. NOT ONE TIME!!!!! I want to thank you Methodist for having such an excellent team and Todd.A in the Observation Unit for taking good care of my Husband. :)

2 1/2 years ago when my husband went in for 18 days, the cancer doctor Sarah Creamer admitted she overdosed him on morphine, the nursing staff would not assist me on the Jones ward 9th floor when he was struggling to survive, you all lost a piece of his jewelry prior to surgery. I really get tired of seeing your commercials. I know several people with similar experiences with your "facility." My husband passed 3 days after leaving there, thank you for the poorest service ever!
