Wonderful hospital!!! Had to take my son there for high fever. They got us to the back quickly. Dr. Piper is one of the best Doctors I have dealt with!!! He was great with my child and was very helpful. The rest of the staff was amazing as well. Couldn't ask for a better staff!! Greatly appreciated everything they did for my little boy!

This is a horrible hospital . The nurses were rude. They did not treat the patient or family with dignity nor respect. The drive and wait is worth going to Le Bonheur Children hospital. I know they will do what they can do to get to the bottom to what's going on. a very big disappointment.

Love the staff from the front desk in emergency room all the way to the end. They love what they do and are so professional and friendly and all love.

We checked in and there were 2 more sets of kids check in after us. Well guess what, they both were called way before us.

I like this location because it’s convenient and generally not crowded like the Other hospitals but yesterday morning around 2a my son ran s very high fever so I brought him in and throw the doors the receptionist had this look on her face like we were unwelcome and bothering her. She wasn’t friendly at all. If you don’t like your job then don’t come to work. You are supposed to be welcoming especially when you around kids allday.

My baby girl had a few mysterious fevers and abscesses on her bottom twice. We went to Baptist East Pediatrics ER for these symptoms four times within 7 weeks, and the ER doctors would always prescribe oral & topical antibiotics before sending her home. They said it’s normal for babies to get skin infections and fevers and not to worry. They would also say that “she looks good, doesn’t look sick at all”...Each time, the symptoms would seem to disappear, but come right back. They even tested her blood twice, saying her white blood cells looked good so she wouldn’t need to be admitted. After the 5th fever, we took baby girl to Lebonheur. A doctor at Lebonheur happened to have access to Baptist’s system, and could see that the first blood test at Baptist revealed that she had 0 neutrophils (the type of white blood cells in the human body that fight bacteria and infection). No one at Baptist ever relayed this information to my husband or I. When I called Baptist, a doctor apologized and simply stated that Baptist’s ER staff will use this “mishap” as a “learning opportunity”, and that he would mention it in the staff meeting the next day. From there, we were admitted to Lebonheur right away. She was then diagnosed with neutropenia. Her neutrophils were not only low, but she had none at all...ZERO. The count was zero when she was seen at Baptist also. This basically means that my baby’s immune system was nonexistent. We were inpatient at Lebonheur for one week and was then transferred to St. Jude, where we stayed for three weeks while she recovered. I am so thankful for the staff at both Lebonheur and St. Jude, as my baby may have not been alive if it weren’t for their impeccable and sharp staff. This is definitely the hardest thing I’ve ever experienced, and I just want other parents to beware. It takes nothing to read lab results, which is what multiple doctors and nurses failed to do at Baptist. Lebonheur was also able to identify the type of infection that my baby had and prescribe the correct antibiotics. Run far far away...misdiagnosis and carelessness should be this ER’s middle name. You would think doctors would take extra special care of an infant with a recurring fever. The good news is that baby is doing much better after a bone marrow aspiration, daily IV antibiotics, and daily bone marrow stimulant injections. Doctors believe that baby girl was born with this condition.

-5 star A very bad staff . I brought my 1 year baby with high fever and we were the first people there. Suddenly, i saw more patient came in, around 5 patient and were admitted before us. I went up to the front desk and asked why is it all these patient admited before us, and her reply was: because we have priority. We were in the emergency and my 1 year baby had a high fever and the lady and other nurses insisted about priorty and my baby is not .We never expirence this before at an emergency. We just left and went to another hospital.

Well I took both of my kids to ER around 4:30 am, and the place was empty. I was happy to see no lines or wait. The intake receptionist took us in and it was fairly quick providing consent and payment authorization. The triage nurse went on to take both kids weight, & height. What was odd she didn't take temp immediately. We proceeded to a room where another nurse took the kids blood pressure and temp. Now the nursing staff, which there were 3, seemed inexperienced and learning as they go. I was not ok with that, as my kids life was at stake. I would have expected the nurse to be more compassionate toward the situation, as parents are usually extremely stressed/worried. The Dr came in and explained that kids get things and are resilient.... you know........the usual feedback you get. However he did take the time to explain to both me and my wife, and tried to comfort my concern. From there the lead nurse return and gave kids medicine. She close door and didn't return. We open door and asked if it was time for discharge. She just said yes and then printed release paper. We expected a more thorough explanation, but we felt rush and there were no other patients in sight. After exiting treatment area we were leaving when someone forced up to pay copay. We understood it was due , but the financial person was very pushy. We were prepared to pay but felt harassed to do so. The problem was the staff was less kid and family friendly than Lebohner.

This is not my first time here and I'm sure it want be my last either I love this place!!!

Physician in the ER yelled at a mother and child causing visible distress. Showed no compassion or concern.

Each and every time that I've had to take my grandson there, it has been an awesome experience. The staff is so thoughtful and considerate of not only how my grandson was feeling but they took into account my feelings as well. They were/are fully aware of his extensive medical history as he was born at Baptist Women's Center, and they govern them selves accordingly with the timeliness and attention needed for him. I have nothing but "good" to say about the Wilson Baptist Children's Hospital. While LeBohneur is a fantastic hospital - AND THEY ARE - don't discount or count Baptist Children's Hospital out.....I see nothing but great things ahead for this facility.

The staff at the front desk was horrible they both acted as if they didn't want to be bothered. Filing a complaint about the employee behavior at the front desk of the ER.

I can't say enough positive things about our experience at Baptist Children's Hospital. I made a last minute decision to take my son to Baptist instead of the other pediatric hospital because I didn't want to travel all the way downtown. It was more convenient from Arlington to go to Baptist. We literally sat in the waiting room 3 minutes when the triage nurse called us back. All the nursing staff and medical providers were kind, attentive and respectful to me and my son. He ended up needing surgery and had to be admitted for an overnight stay. They quickly found us a room, and the nursing staff on that floor was equally as attentive and kind. We never once felt like we were putting them out in any way. We absolutely loved the surgeon. She stayed and talked with us for over 20 minutes, answering all our questions and not making us feel like she was rushed to get out. I will always choose Baptist in the future if any of my children need to go to the ER or the hospital. Thank you for a wonderful experience despite our unfortunate circumstance.

I had to take my baby to Baptist this Morning and, i love this Hospital but today was the Worst Experience with a Rodrigues the Er Doctor that i ever had.Now my baby has been through so much in her life with her health and to get a doctor to tell you that some Parents just jumps the Gun and rush there child to doctors and there is not a big Problem. Then he comes in Sick himself Coughing and can't really talk with a child there that is already sick. Then he go's on to say she is strong and my baby told him my thoat hurts bad and he looled at it and said you are stong. It was not about the Medication it was about doctor's feel they can and say one thing and not really do there part and charge people insurance all this money for Horrible Service. Please talk to him about what things he say to Patience becaise he is Horrible.

The nurse came in asked me about my son fever. I told her it’s going up because his hands are cold this lady asked me what do that have to do with anything and had a crazy look on her face.Smh if you ask me a question and I noticed when MY CHILD runs a fever and his hands are cold then that’s what I noticed he is my child. I never been to baptist pediatric from the experience today I will never come back here AGAIN!

I took my son who is 1 year old to this hospital for the 2nd time and my experience was horrible. It was 9:00pm and the waiting room was empty. The front desk representative was not pleasant or welcoming. She acted as though she hated her job and didn’t want to be bothered. We were immediately taken to a room and the inexperienced nurse came in to take his temp and asked me what was going on. She seemed as though she didn’t want to touch my child. She swiped his forehead for a temp and was headed out of the room. I had to stop her and ask what was his temp. My son had been running a high temp of 103 all weekend, so it was odd to me that the doctor couldn’t make a diagnosis. The representative who collected the insurance information was rude and pushy and after the doctor leaving our room w/o providing us with a clear diagnosis, we had to walk out the room and look for the discharge desk. Spence and Becky Wilson should consider selling this Children’s Hospital to someone more familiar with the needs of families and the knowledge of staffing. I WILL NEVER take my neither of my boys back to this Baptist Childrens Hospital Again!

This past Monday night/Tuesday morning my husband took our preteen son to your ER facility for a fever, vomiting and diarrhea. He was there for six hours and was so severely dehydrated that he needed two bags of fluid through an IV. My husband and I suspected our son was suffering from food poisoning from pizza on Super Bowl Sunday. He woke up at 3 AM Monday all out sick. Piper prescribed an antibiotic for an ear infection for my son, which I find strange because as sick as our son was, he didn't complain about his ears. He received the antibiotic at the hospital and my husband picked up the pills Tuesday afternoon. Our son took one on Tuesday night, Wednesday morning, Wednesday night and Thursday morning. The vomiting went away after Tuesday morning, but the diarrhea was horrible until Thursday morning after 7 AM. I took my son to his pediatrician an hour later that same day. Both his pediatrician and the nurse training to be a NP didn't see any signs of an ear infection at all. We all know that antibiotics can cause digestive issues, but they were both shocked when they saw the antibiotic that was prescribed (AMOX-CLAV, generic for augmentin). They said what I had suspected, that particular antibiotic is known for causing horrible diarrhea. My son already has a slim build because he's young, tall and has a high metabolism. Between late Monday night and Wednesday morning he lost five pounds. What might have happened if I fully trusted your doctor and my son didn't see our family pediatrician a couple of days later? He was prescribed that antibiotic twice a day for seven days. Could you imagine the damage an entire bottle might have caused him? My son still can't eat or drink much, he's incredibly weak. He has also missed a full week of school. Is David Frederick Piper (your pediatrician in emergency) normally this negligent? Edit a couple of weeks later....Hey Piper, your gross negligence has led to my son having c diff! He has been horribly sick, weighing 96 lbs at 5'5". You prescribed him an antibiotic he didn't even need. We tried reaching out to your hospital the Friday after the Thursday we saw our regular pediatrician and found out our son didn't even have an ear infection. We did so twice before I posted my original review. The email immediately came back to me and my husband's phone call was never returned. My son missed another day of school last week and will miss two days this week as of tomorrow. Beginning tonight he will be on a totally different antibiotic that he'll have to take for at least 10 days, 4x a day. Really, Piper? I seriously can't wait to fill out and submit the survey Baptist sent us. And you are going to hear from us again. What you've done to my preteen is outrageously despicable!

If I could give less than 1 star I would. My daughter was so hot to the touch. Crying her stomache hurts and she has a fast heart rate. My child always vomits when she takes meds by mouth so when I came in I told them that. They acted like it was such a problem. That's why they also make shots or suppository meds. Then as I'm holding my daughter down while the nurse is trying to give her meds by mouth she Dr Rodriguez tells her she needs to stop it and calm down. She's 3! If your going to work with children have more compassion as if they were your child or pick another profession.
