Love the doctors here! My daughter comes every 8 weeks for treatment. Dr Thomsen saved her life (in my opinion) and we will always be grateful!

I was not pleased with Vanderbilt Children's Hospital when I took my child to the emergency. The wait wasn't long and Caleb triaged him In quickly and was very nice however I was very displease with the service once I got to the back. I felt the staff violated emtala in so many ways I was completed floored. I brought my son to the emergency room because he had a fever of 102. at check in. He had been vomiting and dry heaving that night so I decided to take him to Vanderbilt children's Hospital. I informed the medical staff that he had not had previous cold symptoms and this was an on set of symptoms. They barley wanted to touch my son or run the proper test to rule out what was going on with my child. The nurse practitioner that was working with the doctor stated she did not want to run labs on him because my insurance would not cover the cost. She continue to comment that "I could just bring him back another time"( note it was close to shift change). I was being to think it was because we were African American that we did not have insurance. I was frustrated by the fact I work for a well know hospital with government insurance for over ten years so insurance should not matter and my son should have been provide the needed treatment hence we came to the emergency room and not a primary care office. After displaying my frustrating and voicing my dissatisfaction they finally order a strep test and discover he had strep throat. I have heard patients mention this type of treatment because they do not have insurance at this facility but did not think I would experience this myself. I am very dissatisfied with the treat my family received at this facility and don't think I will return based on my experience that day.

Heart surgeon is amazing no complaints there wish I could give him 10 stars he saved our childs life and I'm forever grateful for him... but the PICU floor after surgery is what I'm upset about. One particular Nurse Ja***n there favored her other patient more then she cared for my child and she even admitted that to the charge nurse who allowed her to continue care for my child. My child was only checked once all night by her. The day shift nurses were amazing but night shift plays way to much when parents and children are trying to rest at 2-3am them laughing and speaking as though its 3pm in the afternoon absolutely no respect. The heart echo guy brought in a year resident (to me that's a student) without asking us parents if it would be ok for his "student" to practice the echo on our child! Theres a time a place for learning?! And that shouldn't start in the PICU were parents aren't properly asked b4 hand! The guy was laughing saying how he was on her bladder or some other organ he had no reason being on I mean..can he not define between were her heart is and were her stomach is? Smh..Appointments? Possibly. But I expected professionalism in the PICU department. The side once leaving the horror unit was amazing and a breeze. Also I had an issue with floaters in her care. One had no clue were and what cords went were! PICU Unit should be just nurses that specialize in cardiology heart surgery patients NOT FLOATERS that AREN'T specifically focused on open heart patients. I don't give a d*** if they took a class in it or not! It made me feel like my child didn't deserve the same care as other children there did with actual professional nurses. Vanderbilt needs to sit and think on things like this. Not every parent will be vocal about this situation. Also Vanderbilt should of evolved the staff there on the new rooms. The curtain to cover the door for privacy is impossible to use because it covers the nurses window. The showers is like standing in a closet and standing sideways cause there is absolutely no room to move and wash. There are no towel racks. Unless the large glass door is opened the nurses can't hear you hollering for help with something. I was holding my daughter she had tubes down her nose and I couldn't reach the nurse call button it accidentally feel to the floor so I was SCREAMING just to grab there attention and they absolutely could not hear me and it's not the nurses fault of this it's the way the doors are made. Every single nurse was this away and we were there from day 1 of the grand opening moving day. This is highly dangerous! What if my child was in need of an emergency while holding her in the chair near the crib (window side were I was majority)and I couldn't move? And yes the itty bitty door opened not even people in the hallway steps away turned there head to hear me screaming. Also a nurse came in sniffling touching on my child and she ended up sick with Rhinovirus because she wasn't wearing a mask and my child's lungs collapsed over this virus hitting her during healing from surgery. (This was a day or 2 b4 moving to the hell floor called the 10th floor) We live hours away difference time zones and we expected so much more out the PICU team. Like I said the day shift was great but night shift is a joke. The charge nurse is just way to friendly with the nurses instead of more of a boss.(young blond charge nurse night shift). Not happy with the care from the nurses. I always dreaded night shift especially knowing we had Ja***n for 4 nights in a roll

Dr. Wooten in the ENT department is phenomenal. He has treated both of my children and we were beyond please with the results from the surgeries.

Amber Lee

They saved my life. Best hospital ever. 10 out of 10.

Rebecca Reed

My son has been a patient at Vanderbilt Peds for 13 years. He has had surgeries and visits, never once have we had a problem. He is now 17 yrs and he is having complications from his medical problems. No one in the entire hospital seems to be able to help him. We keep getting sent to another doctor. Let me tell you as a parent, watching my child suffer because no one is willing to step up is ridiculous. Thanks Vanderbilt for letting this child suffer.

Sydney Willis

We came to get a simple EKG and a signed paper. Have been waiting for three hours for something that could’ve taken a half an hour daughter had to miss the whole school day and a test to be here all day for a simple EKG. A hurry up and wait all day. Through with Vanderbilt. This is not our only bad experience here.

Jennifer hill

They have always been amazing to my son and I!!!

Wrighter Awn

Always professional and direct with diagnosis. Considerate of your time, building is a little outdated but kept nice and clean. My favorite people are the ones at the information desks, always so helpful and polite.

Kimberly Braden

Very thorough, drs and nurses are all amazing. They really care about their patients and the parents!

Brent Noll

This hospital was a godsend for our family. Our baby girl was born with a Congenital Heart defect called d-transposition with VSD. Something very rarely (if ever) seen at the hospital she was born at. An arterial switch operation was conducted with complete success. Also our overall dealings with the staff was awesome as they are a personable, down to earth bunch who have a true passion for not only children, but to educate parents in a manner that's easy to understand. Thank God for this fantastic hospital!

Tonya Barnes

Amazing in every way! The staff love the kids and do everything in their power to help them!

Carolyn Diehl

Always a pleasant customer service experience!!!

Joe C

Awesome staff. Very informative and thurough. Most importantly they took the time to reassure us about our child and kept us up to date every step of the way. I can say nothing bad about this Hospital and their staff. They are A+ all the way.

Christi Manlove

Not happy with this hospital at all. Our daughter was playing on the couch, and fell on her shoulder, Saturday night. We immediately took her to their ER, because that's where I've taken by boys in the past, and thought they were supposed to be the best. Well, the dr spent less than 5 min with our daughter, didn't do any X-rays, and didn't even remove her shirt to see if she has any swelling, etc. And never really got close to her. They said she was fine and to give her Motrin. She was in pain that night, Sunday, & Monday. We got her in with her pediatrician when she clearly was still in a lot of pain. She spent time with her, never got in a rush, examined her thoroughly and sent her for X-rays. Well, guess what Vanderbilt!!??? She broke her clavicle/collarbone!!!!!! And you're supposed to be the best???? We will never go back there. It makes us sick, that our daughter suffered like that, when it could've been immediately been taken care of. We didn't drive over there for fun.

cassandra hansen

Best hospital and staff you could ask for! I still keep in contact with the nurses and doctors that saved my son's life after 6 yrs!

Lacey Morris

Love the hospital; HOWEVER, whoever is the operator for their answering services is absolutely ridiculous. I was calling to find out if one of their clinics accepted my son's insurance before I drove all the way out there, and she prompted to tell me I need to call someone else that she didn't know. When I asked for a number, she stated I need to call the hospital. Again, I asked for a more direct number and she rudely told me how she herself answers the phone for them. I then asked well can you please give me to someone who can help me? She huffed and puffed in the background and transferred me to the pediatric clinic. They helped me outstandingly. The people who answer the phones represent the company. I hope I never have to call them again because I don't want to deal with someone so ugly.

Brick Wall

Very impressed with staff. Bright, friendly knowledgable, caring and compassionate. Only concern is food available to patients. Doesn't seem to be a connection between good nutrition and recovery of health.

Cynta Pleasant

They are very caring and takes A1care of my daughter

Heather Taylor

Great people and great service

My wife and I have brought our son here for his surgerys over the past years and we have had nothing but great experiences every time I can't imagine going anywhere else We have met some great families going though seminar situations We see familiar staff members that have become to know us by name Well ran place here I can only imagine the wheels that have to turn to keep this place going and the responsibility of the guy that turns those wheels Dr Martus is our sons surgeon Now let me tell you This guy is the most understanding nicest most knowledgeable person and he always takes time to explain everything God has a special place for him in Heaven I know a lot of big singers and actors donate the time and money to make people's lives and stay here as comfortable possibly But it's time for them to step it up again and raise some funds to keep this great place save lives I suggest you stop by and walk around And look at the smiles on these children's faces I bet before you leave your heart will start telling you that it's time for you to jump in and help in every way you can to insure that this place keeps doing what they do Thanks and proud to be a part of Vanderbilt Children's Hospital family Come on join the family!!!!!!

Kimberly Reyes

The absolute best childrens hospital, hands down. They always listen to my concerns and make sure my babies are better before we leave. Weither it be a serious bike accident or a lethargic baby, they've always done amazing and got them back on their way to health in no time!

Courtney Gravins

Today I accomplished many things, Nevaeh had a cyst on her right lower eye brow, since she was about 1-2months I noticed it. Never did I think it was anything serious bad. But I did know something was wrong. Until I asked a couple Doctors, a few Nurses. But most of them said it's probably just a bump. And also said " Weird things happen to baby's all the time," it will go away they said. As months went by, her 4•Month checkup her "New" Doctor I switched her to. Got her in the next day , as I told him that I was worried about her eye. He looked at it said "Yeah thats definitely something to worry about." He brought some nurses in they looked as well. Nevaehs, Doctor said, he wasn't going to tell me anything about something he didn't really know what it was but said he would get me the number to find out and get everything done. As I went home, they called me 20-30mins after I left the office. Gave me a number and made a appointment. Dr.Reddy from Children's Vanderbilt Hospital. We went and he told me what it was, measured it and then made me a appointment for Vanderbilt to get it removed. Said if I would've waiting ANY longer It could've double in size.As the size of a Golf ball around her eye. I was so happy/Terrified to know that my babygirl was some what okay thanks to a Good Doctor and as well my "Mother instinct" telling me it wasn't just "Nothing" on her face. Goes to show you what a COUPLE good doctors can do!! We got it removed today. Friday, Oct-13-2017 and I couldn't have been more relieved to know that my baby girl is going to be alright. Thanks to some very Good Doctors, and Nurses. As well as the hospitals that have helped Nevaeh and I . As well as Nevaehs Doctor for getting a good step on getting things resolved very quickly and not giving me the "run around" about my daughter. I just wanted to make sure everyone knows how Happy, and relieved I am for Nevaeh. Huge THANK YOU, To all that has help me get this resolved and taken care of. ⭐️Cumberland Pediatric & Kids Care Walk-in Urgent care clinic. Lebanon Tn.Dr. Charles A. Best place for kids anywhere

Jennifer Shelton

I have been bringing my child here for 13 years and I will continue to come. Never a disappointment here.

Annalee Broussard

I had a great experience here amazing staff so friendly and good at what they do

Lisa Koe

We've been seeing a specialist here for over 3 years. Our experience has been 5 star treatment all the way, from ultrasounds & MRI's to surgery and over night stays. The tech's, nurse's, doctor's, everyone we've come across has been very caring, & friendly, with 5 star treatment! We highly recommend this hospital and the specialist that work here to care for your child. They truly do care for your child.

Crissa Christoffer

This is a place that will take the time to find out what is wrong and will do all in their power to help to make you feel better. Also put you in touch with social services andtherapies you may need, physical, speech, occupational, home health, ect... It is quality care at its finest. From new born born to geriatrics, lab's and diagnostic emergencies to surgery.

Denise Funches

Always attentive, caring, and concerned.

Neal & Elaina Cheek

Was punished for being involved with daughter's care and sent to NICU because we googled her symptoms and told the doctor what we suspected. Told doctor we did not want a student case, was told we did it or she would tell social services we were going to be told we were refusing care and kept us for over a week for acid reflux. Nurses locked us out of the treehouse and ignored requests to get back to our baby, and only got in because my mother was with me and was a retired nurse and asked for a patient ombudsman. If I could leave negative stars I would. As it stands, we will NEVER go back to this hospital, for any reason. I have never had more unprofessional, god complex medical staff to deal with then this hospital. Stay as far away as you can. Edit: we did call after this was over. What we got was gee, this isn't right. So sorry. Never asked for my name, a number or anything related to it (and cited HIPPA as to why they weren't getting it when I asked if they wanted it). Didn't check it out, just apologizing to get off the phone as fast as they could. I fail to see how gaps are bridged with this "customer service".

Miss Blondie

I absolutely love this hospital and its specialty physicians. Without them, my son wouldn't be here today. I am also current on recent events and I know there are tons of negative feedback on the situation, so that's why I wanted to leave a positive rating. I also understand this wasn't easy for your staff to have to endure. I will always have a positive feedback for your hospital and staff and non of this will prevent my son from going to his favorite dr.

Kay Layne

Multiple stays, multiple doctor's, mixed diagnosis, differing decisions for treatment plans...too many cooks in the kitchen. Severe lack of compassion for special needs individuals overall...felt as though our child was used as a guinea pig in a teaching hospital. Wouldn't recommend Vanderbilt at all.

Pricilla Solis

This place is amazing. Took very good care of my little one when he fractured his leg. Can’t thank the nurses and doctors enough. Very caring and helpful when we were there. Thank you very much!

Rebecca James

I can't say enough about this hospital. We are always so greatful for there care and kindness

Glenda Johnson

They care about children and medical professionals are great.

Alicia Brannon

Great Hospital to bring your children.

Ari

I had major stomach issues for a year and my GI doctor only pushed ridiculously expensive medications instead of trying to get an actual diagnosis. In October my mother and I discovered that my stomach issues were caused by my gallbladder all along when ultrasounds were showing that I had stones. Unfortunately, the ER didn't want to remove it and sent me back to my GI doc. She profusely denied that it was my gallbladder and continued pushing medications that made me sicker than I was. I was confined to my bed for 2 months because I couldn't get up without being dizzy and my pain got so bad that I couldn't eat. She continued to deny I had any issue with my gallbladder. I went to see a surgeon outside of vanderbilt to get it taken out and my life completely changed. Terrible GI clinic. Never ever take your child there, I've never had such an unethical doctor

William Ransom

They really take care of my daughter

Felicia Gibson

These people with 5 star reviews are either crazy or do not have to deal with the bs all the time. First hospital I have ever dealt with that treats a child more like a lab rat than a child. They do not do anything they say. I should not have to constantly stay on them to schedule appointments, surgery, or whatever. And they rely way too much on anesthesia. DON’T LIKE BEING LIED TO! Called patient relations. Have not heard back from them really don’t expect to usually don’t.

Miho Yamaguchi

It is a great place to have your child seen to take of your needs.

Tammy Covington

Needs experienced nurses and student staff that is knowledgeable and a better attitude. One student nurse (male) didn't know how to change my daughter's diaper while female student was present...smh. Blood keep clotting in my daughter's IV and this nurse comes in and my daughter was screaming and blood was everywhere. I proceeded to get up and see what took place and blood got on the nurse and all over my daughter's sheets and gown. I was upset but kept my cool and told my husband about it. Been to Vanderbilt many times...all experiences were not bad..I have to say that, but it depends on what day or night and who is working I guess. That's why I think a 3 star is appropriate..

Crystal Huckstep

My daughter has been coming to this hospital and I have had no but an awesome experience. The doctors are great and the nurses as well

Teresa West

All the doctors and nurses are very nice. They do their job well!

Shaparak Malek

Absolutely horrible experience with the Front Desk Staff, Respiratory Therapist and overnight doctors. They have horribly mannered middle aged women working their front desks that are just out right rude. We were treated by two respiratory therapists for my son at our local hospital and then had a treatment with the respiratory therapist at Vanderbilt..he was downright disrespectful, rude and frightening to be around. The nurses were the only people that truly care there and they are over worked. Suggestion to Vanderbilt : your patients are not hamsters and if you can't conduct yourself appropriately with pediatric patients , then you need to find another field of work. This place is nothing but a research mill. Every time my son was seen there was three other students that needed to take a look as well. I am all for learning but frankly it was just ridiculous. The facilities are dirty and they had to move us to two different rooms in order to get us to a room that wasn't leaking all over the floor from the sink. And the front desk women in pediatrics was not pleasant to do so. Our insurance pays for this service, so we deserve appropriate care. Definitely a research mill, sweat shop that just turns patients. Feel sorry for the nurses who work there.

barbara lantrip

Wonderful staff, went out of their way to make my daughter comfortable. Definitely worth the drive.

Patricia Lawrence

Great place

Tabitha Stevenson

I have nothing but the best to say about every Dr and every nurse is usually sorry nice. My son has cystic fibrosis and Autism. Ellen O'Kelley is the only Dr I have had a problem with. We are back so often to see the Doctors and nurses, and everyone is always nice and courteous to use and especially to Nathan. Love them all.

Star Johnson

The absolute best care for my infant! Treated me & my husband with much kindness & respect. The entire staff goes out of the way to make sure you are informed of situation, patient w/answering my questions. I reside in clarksville, very glad we chose Vanderbilt to care for our baby!

Jane Ellen

Everyone we've encountered here is exceptional. They go out of their way to make you and your child feel at ease.

Michael Johnson

Not only are the staff friendly to the children but, they are helpful as well. I've been here three times with my youngest child and if I have a choice to take any of my children to any hospital, it will definitely be this one.

Jorge Cotty

Appointment was 3 months out, 1 1/2 hour trip, for 9 am, is 12 noon and still no help, nothing done. Asked when we were going to be helped, kept saying next while other people were getting called. My child is fasten since 12 midnight, gone 9n 12 hrs of fasting for an infant. This is not funny. If you got a hospital to run, do it right. Dont give up appointments to do as you please. My insurance pay for this horrible service, where can I get the help I need? Apparently here isnt one.

Chandler Miniat

Exceptional care, exceptional care givers

Ashley Russell

I highly recommend going here if you have some serious questions that needs answering. Not only is the atmosphere nice, but the Doctors and nurses are really compassionate, and generally care about their patients and families. They also saved my life after having a complete blood loss 3 times.

Sidney Starling

When I had pneumonia and was in this hospital, the nurses and doctors were all very nice. The nurses were having a very hard time drawing my blood for testing, and I hate needles. The nurses really helped me through the test. Not only that, but I also had hernia surgery there. The doctors told me everything that was going to happen, and I didn't feel scared at all. I was able to play video games before the surgery, and the nurses and doctors helped me a lot when I was really sick after the surgery. When I woke up after the surgery, I saw my friend's mom that was a nurse there at the time. Pretty soon after that, the other nurses told my parents that they could come and see me. The Children's Hospital was and is a great place to go.

Raylee Rodgers

I have friends that if it was not for Monroe Carroll they would have lost there kids. So I feel that they are a wonderful hospital and do a lot to advance in the field of children.

Mary Gillum

this is the best hospital they treat your kids and you like u are family and the food and staff is wonderful the nurses are very careing and very nice i would recamend u going there thank u all for taking care of my son and us

Tony Brown

U can eat at Vandy Cafe for 5 dollars that,s good!! 70 percent doctors will give good advice to your kids!! 30 percent is there for the check!! God got a check for u on judgement day!!!

melissa neighbors

My daughter was there for 72 hour seizure monitoring. Being in the hospital isn't fun but they did what they could to make it pleasant.

Patricia Clark Pollock

Great place for medical care

Sidney Fehland

I wish the rules was explained in the beginning. I traveled 2 hours to stay with my friend on the 6th floor. I am under aged (15). The nurses did not explain the rules

karen brown

They are awesome!!! Just the technology they have to provide for are kids today is amazing. Then I like not only do u have a regular doctor check on your child but a student also.. I always look at it two ways you have the smarten of the old (resident doctor) and the fresh mind of the new (student). Some may not like having a few people but I do cause more minds the more brains to come up with ideas

S George

Our entire visit was a nightmare. First visit and nobody explained to us how to check in for our appointment. I didn’t sign in properly and waited roughly 40 mins till asking if we needed to be doing any paperwork and finding out. Then we were took back for the basics and sent back to the waiting room to wait for an open room. We spent 15 mins with the doctor while she explained stuff we already knew then waited 45 mins to have blood drawn (which didn’t seem a priority till my husband asked when it was going to be done - all while three very hungry and tired children under the age of four were crying). We had already decided we wouldn’t be coming back after our 4 and a half hour blood draw visit, but i was confident in that decision when we were called with the lab results, or i should say half the lab results and no follow up appointment like the doctor explained we would need if we got the results that we got. Our pediatrician only referred us here because the wait time was supposed to be less than Erlanger, but I will gladly wait next time.

Barbara Sisson

My son spent 5 weeks in the NICU here and the staff was amazing and helpful considering I went into labor really early with my son. They helped us make sure we could be with him when we lived 2 hours away. We love all of the doctors and nurses there!

jonathannicholson89

Very very very slow. Staff seems to be more interested in phones and slow walking the halls than attending the patients. Came in at 8:30 pm still here it's now 12:45 am. All for an IV. The friendly nurses are the only positive from this visit.

Autumn Banks

My son and daughter have been treated there my daughter just a simple surgery but my son was born 6 weeks early stayed in nicu at Jackson TN was home a week and became ill Hardin county hospital Savannah TN and Jackson Madison county General hospital told me he was fine so I asked to be sent here where they ran labs and found bacteria in his blood I highly recommend this facility it's great family oriented and know what they are doing they treat your child and self like family great doctors nurses and care partners

Vivienne I

gihan rezk

Best place for children they save my child life

Kayla Kirby

I love this hospital! They are so nice and they think of everything when it comes to taking care of the kids. If u have a baby they have diapers, wipes, milk, sippy cups, socks, PJs and more if you need it they'll let you have it. The doctors and nurses are great. I can't say nothing that they did wrong or I didn't agree with.

Stormie Hill

Wait, wai and more wait. To busy not enough staff. Arrival was 10. It’s now 115pm. The OR staff was very nice. And great with my special needs A gender child. It’s 145 and I’m still waiting to be called back into recovery.

Ronn Schrader

Saved my 15 year old daughter's life. She developed acute liver failure and was hospitalized for three days. Constant care, thorough updates, measured compassion and amazing results!!!

Sandy E

Very caring with children

Tammy Bowles

Horrible experience with Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital. Took my daughter into the ER, waited almost 12 hours for MRI, had to force them to keep her overnight due to her not improving, misdiagnosed, sent home without follow up phone number to call if she got worse (which she did), left several voicemails for someone to call us back as she was not improving and no one called us back for medical advice. If it’s not obvious then apparently they are incapable to figuring out a diagnoses. Or they send you home with we don’t really know what’s wrong with your child. She was perfectly healthy and active 7 days prior to being admitted to the ER, now she is unable to walk, hold a pencil, memory loss, and severe vomiting. Yet no one checks her for anything viral, even after I begged them to do more lab work. Said it was anexity and a migraine. No medical history of anexity and no prior headaches before. Ended up taking her to a family nurse practitioner friend that was actually concerned about her health and finding out the cause. My daughter ended up having acute mono that affected her cerebellum. Called back to tell Vanderbilt what nurse practitioner had found and they would not admit misdiagnosing her. Presented them with a case study published in a medical journal and they still wouldn’t admit not treating her properly. I do not suggest taking your teen or child to this facility for diagnoses.

Dr. Grahe and the hospital staff went above and beyond to make sure my son recieved the best of care. I truly appreciate you all and all the hard work you do. Btw, I came all the way from Clarksville to this hospital to make sure my son can recieve the best of care, and this hospital staff went above and beyond my expectation. Thank you. ❤❤❤

Nicole & Roger MARTIN

They have done an excellent job with take care of my children. I am very proud and very happy to drive almost two hours to here

Vanessa Mallia

Bonnie. Bonnie was allegedly an outstanding nurse. She was impudent, rude consending and the perfect end to a day from hell. We'll never forget you Bonnie. In the furure when cleaning an adolescents navel piercing. CLOSE THE PATIENTS DOOR, SHE WAS 16 FOR GOODNESS SAKE. AND TREAT PARENTS WITH RESPECT WHETHER YOU FEEL WE DESERVE IT ISNT YOUR CALL.

Travis Hanberry

Staff is Great and caring!

Juan Grigg

Great doctors, excellent hospitality, took great care of my 2 year old, and me and my wife. Overall great hospital.

Joy Dodge

I can not say enough wonderful things about the entire staff that we met at Vandy Children's. The ER staff, nurses, doctors, and respiratory therapists, were all absolutely fantastic. They were great with our 3 year old as well as us (Mom & Dad), and we are grateful for them!

Amber Gregory

I love vanderbilt because they are a awesome hospital

Sundee Guffey

Had to take a friend to the ER last night. I must brag on one nurse, Merlin. He was amazing! Very compassionate, thorough, attentive. I was very pleased with the care that he showed toward my friend and toward my 5 year old daughter and I. I feel all the staff was wonderful but you could really tell that Merlin love what he does and truly cares for his patients! My friend was admitting into the hospital and I only hope his attending nurses on the floor are as caring as Merlin.

Shelia Rice

Great experience when my son got sick with the stomach bug years ago, and now as an employee of Vanderbilt I am absolutely loving it.

Michelle Clardy

The doctors are very good with children. My daughter"s surgery was handled very well.

Harold Plemons

Good but takes too long to read xrays

Angie Masters

Everyone here was amazing, they not only took excellent care of my granddaughter, they eased her fears and made her feel safe. I can't say enough about how great the care that we both received, I was kept informed about everything that was going on with her and what to expect to see with her recovery and they tremendously eased my fears and concerns. Very positive atmosphere from every single person we met.

Natosha Rogers

The staff are super friendly they made us as comfortable as can be the doctor even gave my son a stethoscope and a pop cycle.

Jessica Barrett

They are absolutely awesome! Both of my girls have been there and they have treated them and me with outstanding respect. I would recommend to any parent.

I have been going here to vandy since i was 1 or 2 because of my type 1 diabetes. Oh my goodness these doctors are the best doctors around . I’m about to turn 15 and they are absolutely the best . If i went to sleep i would have died but as you can see i didn’t . And i wanted to thank y’all .

Having A lot of the same problems most are having... I gave 2 stars ONLY because they saved my sons life... no thanks to the emergency room... over 2 years ago.. and 2 years later we are still left to our own defenses...our lives have been turned upside down and NO ONE seems to care or listen. Just on to the next patient. Neurology has no answers because they didn't complete an EEG overnight stay (which should have lasted 3 nights, made their decision in less than 24 hours... ) Neurosurgeons won't agree with each other. Cardiology hasn't bothered with my son in over a year and half. It's sad and heartbreaking... We rely on these Dr.s to go above and beyond... they just won't.

One of the best children's hospital in the country! Thank you staff so much for taking care of my twins in the NICU. Thank you to my nurse for being right there by my side, and walking me through everything while advising me. turned a scary beginning into such a blessing ending.

SR KeepinOn

Best in this part of the country.

Dr. Fish and his team did a wonderful job with my catheter ablation procedure. As of now, the issue seems to be fixed. I am confident that I can go through life free of SVT episodes thanks to their expertise. I had some major requests on how I wanted the procedure done, and the team was professional about listening to my requests and taking my inquiries seriously. I especially want to praise the anesthesiologist, Heidi Smith, for going above and beyond and working with me to come up with a personalized anesthesia plan. Unfortunately, we did have some complications with the bill being unacceptably higher than the estimate - over 10x the amount of the estimate. After leaving a negative review, the billing department handled our case professionally and resolved it to our satisfaction. They took responsibility and admitted that they messed the estimate up, and they also called exactly when they said they would call. The only thing they could have done better would be to work with us to resolve the problem right from our initial call to them without us having to take the action of writing a negative review to get their attention. For the outstanding customer service, I have updated this review to 5 stars. Overall, when it comes to pediatric cardiology, I can absolutely recommend this hospital and definitely Dr. Fish. They really are some of the best people around, and your children will be in good hands here.

This is where I got surgery on my heart back in October 2017. The doctors and nurses are very friendly

Kyle St.Hilaire

Good medical facilities but beware the FALSE ADVERTISING. They might call it a “children’s hospital” but all the doctors are definitely adults, they aren’t fooling anyone, they’re way to competent to be children.

Marsha Jackson

Our precious Amelia Grace spent the first couple of weeks of her life in the NICU here and has follow ups every few months to check the progress of the heart defect she was born with. As you can see she is very comfortable with the staff and always goes in smiling and comes out smiling. We are blessed to have the best Cardiologist Dr. English Flack as her Doctor since the very beginning and we couldn’t have asked for a Dr more caring and relatable to us than she has been. She always takes her time to answer any and all questions and truly shoes Amelia Grace such love and kindness every time we visit. Thank you Vanderbilt for taking the best care of our precious girl always.

Riley Huff

Real place real doctors. They dont just throw you out the door for the next patient.

Amber Jones

I trust Vanderbilt with all 6 of my kids. They have fixed everything from broken bones to allergies for us.

Joshua Ferrell

Very sweet and loving staff!! Everyone is so helpful!!!

Justin Hermsdorfer

My son has been a patient here for 3 years. The hematology/oncology is unbelievable. I owe them more than I can ever repay.

Inas Winchester

The inpatient nurses are horrible. They mixed up my son's test which delayed his stay. I only come here because the other children's hospital don't have much. I'm giving them two stars because they have a lot of resources. It is the nurses that are horrible and arrogant! The maids, doctors, food service, and techs are pleasant.

Noob Playz

Cause the people are nice and loving

Audrina Boyer

Constance Beverly

Terrible place. Was transferred by ambulance from Rutherford ER at 7am to Vanderbilt ER At 11am was told my child would be admitted to the hospital. At 4pm still sitting in ER waiting on a nurse or Dr. To move my child. Very poor organization and accommodation. Just about ready to discharge my child myself and go back to Rutherford hospital.

Ashley Garrison

The amazing Dr's&staff along with God's healing power made it possible for our baby girl to make a complete turn around&be discharged home after 1wk in PEDs ICU...Our love to all involved

Elizabeth Elliott

I have a daughter with multiple disabilities, and this hospital has cared for her since she was 2 years old. She is now 17. World class doctors and nurses. I will miss this place when she transfers to the adult side.

Boogie Man

Teresa Gibbons

ash-john k

They always take amazing care of our kids. I wouldn’t take my boys anywhere else as they always make them feel like a priority.

Sandra Morris

2 stars. We are done with Vanderbilt. My daughter relied on them for medical care. She is special needs. They failed her on 3 occassions. First for follow up care after having a pretty invasive surgery in which she did not receive post surgery care as ordered by the operating physician then after that was sent home despite concerns of severe dehydration and extreme weakness causing her to return via life flight in which she actually feel into a coma. Then another occasion in which she was driven back to Vanderbilt we by ambulance from another hospital due to oxygen levels and she was NEVER given any oxygen and no testing done to determine cause then she was sent home with O2 stats of 86 to 88. Yes I know these were her stats they had her on a monitor and after they took her off I check it several time. This was last straw. They use to be the best NOW they are a JOKE. my baby nearly died twice due to their negligence.

raven george

My son had open heart surgery and he got a serious infection from the hospital and we had to come back. Now we have to stay here a month or two. They don’t provide nothing other than a small cot bed my Mamaw sleeps on and I have to sleep on the floor. They pull and yank on my sons chest tubes and when he complains and tells them it hurts really bad and to be more gentle they completely ignore him. One of his chest tube and out and it took the nurse a hour or two to even notice and air got inside. Good hospital with terrible terrible staff ruining the name.

CHRIS GATTI

Excellent care by all staff.

Carrie G

Amazing surgery team and the after care in the PACU was the best.

Keith Corbin

No wait at all for admission to the ER. Great care and nice folks.

Holly Jamen Huff

Had my son early due to having mild preeclampsia.. He was born at the medical center in bowling green and they literally had no idea what they were doing there in the NICU department to take care of him, so we got ahold of Vanderbilts children's hospital and they took my baby in like he was their own. The nurses are SUPER sweet and caring for the babies here, The medical equipment they use is extremely up to date and you get to spend as much time with your baby as long as you want too, which is amazing. The NICU department makes you feel at home and they give like no other. Definitely a great place for your baby or child to go too.

Jennifer Dennis

The staff were friendly, and great with my daughter in law. She was there having a baby, and they were great! My grandson was born prematurely and their staff was prepared and ready for any complications. They took excellent care of both of them.

BenZo

Just spoke to Natalie Beiting in customer service to update my address. Her position can be challenging with the calls she gets, but she is very funny and professional. Great job Natalie!

Madison Williams

My daughter Raegan Williams has been a patient since she was 7 months old. She is now 7 years old. I am so thankful for this amazing hospital, and everyone here at Vanderbilt are so.kind and welcoming. It's all about the children which helps is parents feel more comfortable and the most important our children feel comfortable.

Tammy martin

Staff is very friendly and inviting!! Drs are very knowledgeable and are very thorough! Clean rooms and family orientated!

Chris Simpson

Excellent medical treatment and staff. The only place to take your child in the Middle Tennessee area.

marie e. gamble

We were seeing doctor re: eyes. The wait was 3 hours but the doctor is good. Driving time = 3 hrs. + 1.5 hrs traffic + 3.5.hrs, doctor. Change rating to 3.5 stars!

This review is specifically for the neurology clinic and Dr.William Burnette to be more specific. This muppet looking, condescending, arrogant, cretinous, cold hearted despot ignored two emails from me about my daughter (who has a very complex medical history) and let us drive four hours to see him just to tell us that he refused to take my daughter as a patient. A simple call or email to tell us that would have been great so we didn’t waste our time, but then this horrible human being wouldn’t have gotten paid for sitting in a room for five minutes. They sent us a bill for this visit which is beyond ridiculous in my opinion. I would also like to address the blonde nurse in blue scrubs with short hair and glasses who openly mocked our daughter who was exhausted and terrified of being at another hospital. Our experience here was horrid.

Nameless One

Wouldn't take my kids anywhere else but here..Great staff and drs awesome too.

Lynn Logan

Everyone we have encountered has been very nice and professional.

Ashley White

It’s been years since I’ve been here, but when I would come here just about every year for tubes in my ears and have an ear drum rebuild. I loved all the doctors and nurses there! They made sure I was comfortable and that everything was just a quick and easy process. When have just appointments for check ups, they were long. Sometimes I would sit in the waiting room for 3 hours before I got called back. But overall, it’s a great hospital and such a warming environment!

Amy Overton

My child has always received outstanding care here in every department that we have been to. The staff is very accommodating to families during overnight stays.

Christie Irvin

I could not be more thankful for the staff. Each visit and stay, we are made to feel like at home during the worst circumstances. Thank you all for the amazing job you all do. Thank you most of all for loving and caring for my little one.

Sydney Covett

This was the best hospital we have ever been to.
