Had both of my parents get sick and admitted in same day! Staff on both floors and in the ER could not have been nicer or more helpful! They went out of their way to help us knowing we had both parents there. Can't say enough about the staff!

Nelson Stanfill

Go to Regional Hospital if your insurance will allow. This hospital is a testimony to why government owned healthcare will always result in poor service and terrible attitudes towards patients and the public at large. You have been warned. Go to a private hospital.

My grandmother had a bleeding ulcer in her stomach and they just said it was all in her mind and was wanting to send her home and that eventually killed her my mom had to go there her multiple sclerosis was flaring up and she became numb from the waist down they put her in a room and kept the nurse call button away from her so my mom had her cellphone and she got the main desk on the phone and had to get a nurse that way I suggest anywhere else but her this is a terrible place to send someone my mom thought of going to a veterinarian office than here

Yes go to Regional hospital. Waited almost 8 hours to get care in the ER, then another 2 hours with a doctor who told me there was nothing they could do. I had to beg for meds just to get the swelling down in my leg. Also they were not very friendly or even acted like caregivers. Maybe they were just being overworked. They were busy but 8 hours, no excuse. Never waited that long at Regional. Oh yeah we even tried to get paperwork to file a complaint and they avoided it. Final word no, no, and more no. Oh one positive, the lady at the front desk was very very nice and helpful. Also the two ladies that check my vitals before sending me to the wait room were also nice and helpful but it stops there.

Richard Brooks

The staff, nurses, and doctors here are amazing. Dr. Perkins and Dr. Mariencheck have been so helpful and kind in a very bad situation. They are helping our family make sound and reasonable decisions regarding my mother and honestly I have never encountered such compassion. My mother is getting top notch care and for that I will always be thankful.

Nurses and FNP was great. Hospitalist did not make a showing. How can you make a decision without even looking at the patient. No compassion whatsoever. Look at the test results? Everyone's situation is not the same.

I am from Florida and was not use to hospitals like this one. Most amazing care i have ever received in a hospital. All the nurses, doctors , X-ray techs and pathology people were super kind and respectful. Everything was done quickly but with care. 10/10 amazing patient care they make you feel better about being stuck in the hospital.

Terri Swindle

Wouldn't give meds on time that im supposed to have. Also wouldn't let me go outside after i signed paper stating i could. Nurses are nice but doctor not at all.

This hospital may have extreme wait times but at least they care about their patients!!! I went to the ER back in March, the waiting room PACKED FULL!! I waited 4 hours after they did my labs and initial work (BP,Weight, etc.) and still had about a 3 hour wait, I left and went to Regional because I honestly was concerned I was having a miscarriage and I was in pain with heavy bleeding and clotting. That was a mistake! After the experience with Regional, JMCGH IS THE ONLY HOSPITAL I WILL GO TO!!! They helped me with my bill since I didn't have insurance. Regionals bill was more than TRIPLE of what Generals was. And Regional wouldn't make payment arrangements with me they wanted more than what I could afford to pay. Not only that but I ended up with two separate bills from two separate collection agencies saying I owe more than what they initially billed me for. So with that said I WILL WAIT ANY AMOUNT OF TIME to see these WONDERFUL, HARDWORKING, HELPFUL AND CONSIDERATE PEOPLE AT JACKSON GENERAL!!!! Just build some more ER rooms!! Please :D

I was recently at Jackson Madison General early this week. I made the journey from Texas all the way to Tennessee. I was there to see my Dad in ICU and the nurses there that I spoke with were excellent. They were very knowledgeable and clearly explained everything to us. They were very patient as all family members present asked questions. They didn't try to rush off as some nurses tend to do since they have to oversee many patients. The two RN's that I spoke with Mary and Danielle again were excellent.

I had surgery on a Tuesday and by the following Tuesday 1 week later I was sent to Regional Hospital for emergency surgery. They had to reopen the incision on my ankle to irrigate it was put on very strong IV antibiotics for 3 days plus a nerve block in my leg to numb my leg from my knee to my ankle to help with the pain. After 3 days I got to go home but I had to continue to take a high dose oral antibiotic for 10 days after i got out of the hospital I went back to my Dr for a follow up and was put on another high dose of antibiotics this time for 15 days. I would definitely recommend going to Regional Hospital for any surgery I had to have .

I took my sister with severe back pain on 8-17-16 & 8-24-16 to the ER(she had 2 compression fractures & budged disc). She also has an ileus which is deadly! IThey said she was not bad enough to admit. SAY WHAT?!?! Pushed pain medicine down her and sent her home. Not at all what we wanted. The next time it was the same but at least the Dr then did made a appointment with a back surgeon.Pushed MORE pain medicine down her. UNDATE- 9-18-16 We are at the hospital (been here since 9-13-16)in Martin waiting for her to be transferred to JACKSON REGIONAL HOSPITAL by ambulance for back surgery on Monday. And also to deal with ileus. Shame on you people at Jackson Madison ER!!!!!!!!!! Not everybody wants to drugged out! You all are no better than the drug pushers on the street and in prison! You all need to step it up. So upset with you all and hope to NEVER have to come there again!

Susan Hill

Were great dealing with my autistic daughter.

Mario Morgan

I came in with a broke toe. The swelling was obvious, and the pain was unbearable. I requested a cup of ice water and a simple ice pack while I wait. I was ignored and told that the technician will be with me when a room is available. I sat here in excruciating pain the entire time until finally I couldn't take it anymore, and I left. I have had nothing but bad experiences with this hospital, but it's sad cause there isn't a better option.

Went to ER Sunday morning around 6, was in a room by 8 and surgery by 1. They were all so sweet and helpful. Every nurse and doctor addressed me personally with everything they said, even though my mom was there, they still made sure I was completely aware with everything going on. They took such good care of me. It was my first ER visit and surgery and I couldn't have been any happier with the experience. So proud of our Jackson nurses and doctors.

I was admitted to JMCGH on 4/29. From the ER, to radiology, to NICU, to the neuiro flloor. I recieved the BEST care!! It was a very scary time for me and my family and I was treated with the utmost respect and care. Every one took every measure to make sure I was comfortable and educated me and my family on my condition. They treated me just like family! West TEnnesseee is lucky to have quality healthcare right here close to home!

I went for disloceted knee and I arrived as round 830 pm. I received my exray right away as soon I arrived. But never got the results ,waiting waiting so I asked about how long until I get seen you I've been waiting for six hours now. .hurting swelling.painful. then I ask how long until I ho back to the back to get help and checked out by the doctor, then they said four more hours. I was shocked to hear such horror. So no I didn't experience good from them. So I lefted crying and decided to go to my doctor in the morning. Thanks alot for not being able to get to me in a timely manner and I lefted hurting more than I showed up hurting. From sitting there half the night on may 5. Again I'm sorry for writtting this but I felt like I wasnt a concern to them. Just another long number to them.

Carol Steward

Our visit 3/27/17 to ER was unbelievable! The staff treated us as if we were so special. Dr. Revelle and his Nurse Kristen were so sweet and kind. They both deserve a Gold star for the way they treat patients. The service was so fast for an ER. We won't mind going back should the need ever arise because we were treated so nicely. 5 Stars for Dr. Revelle!!!

Brought my husband here to get a bone marrow biopsy and catscan to determine how far along his Cancer is. Was told to be here at 6 a.m. and we were 20 minutes late since we had to drive from Middleton. FOUR hours later, he finally went back. Ridiculous! There was no respect for our time at all. If the hospital and doctors can charge us for procedures, we can charge them for our time spent waiting on them. I took four hours off from work only to be told we would not be out of here until 2 or 2:30, for what turned out to be a half-hour procedure!!!!!! My time is very valuable also. We had fully prepared to be here 2 hours, perhaps 3, but 8 to 8.5 is a bit ridiculous. Why be here at 6 a.m., for which we woke at 4 a.m., if the doctors don't even arrive until 8 a.m.? There are some serious time management issues that need to be ironed out. The only part that made this visit somewhat pleasant was his nurse, Miranda. Bless her heart! She was very kind and patient. I think our next visit will be back to Vanderbilt, 3 hours away, but at least I know I have to take the whole day off for that.

I’d rather die than someone take me to this hospital. The ladies on the 3rd floor labor and delivery are amazing. However the emergency department is garbage. The lady at the desk got an attitude with me because I didn’t know if I was 15 or 16 weeks pregnant because I had no ultrasound per their own clinic across the street. They made me sit in the waiting room for over 3 hours in labor with my 16 week old son. Before I even got back to the room he had fell out of me in a bathroom and they couldn’t even find the keys to unlock the door and get me out. A receptionist at the desk is the only person to come to my aid. Another story from a few years ago. My grandmother was admitted with two major blockages in her heart. They were aware she was on blood thinners with a pace maker. However their staff did not let her blood thicken enough for surgery and she died choking on her own blood hours after the surgery. The absolute WORST hospital I have EVER been to. DO NOT GO HERE.

Receptionist in Carter waiting room can seriously use some customer service training. I understand she deals with a lot of people daily, but being at least cordial is expected. Especially when most people waiting are under stress.......... Other than that, the doctors and nurses are very friendly/informative. Thanks yal!

Was in the emergency area there all day recently. I had dislocated my ankle and fractured the leg bone. It required being anesthetized and a cast put on it. And I can tell you it hurt like heck. I was treated as speedily as possible and everyone was mature and professional. Everyone had a good and compassionate attitude. It took the efforts of a lot of people that day to get me on my way back home. They ALL did great. I did get the feeling tho that I talked to one or two people that day that were just being a bit nosey and might were supposed to be working on something else. But they were nice also. * I should point out that my foot had come loose from my leg bone and had slid sideways up the bone. It required no advanced diagnostics, it was clearly obvious that I was hurt and in a great deal of pain. I think that was one reason for the speed of service. But, as I told them when I got there, I said, "I am in your hands" you can fix me or roll me out into the hallway somewhere, not much I can do about it.

I had to come for an X-ray on my ankle and I spent well over 2 hours in the FT room the staff is rude and overall were not concerned and it took them 3 hours after them giving me my results to discharge me. Awful staff

My husband was transferred by ambulance from bolivar for a serious heart issue where his heart was beating above 160 beats per minute to 54 beats per minute along blood pressure that was fluctuations from high to rock bottom. Was told at bolivar by Dr they had spoken with a Dr. Springer and that he needed further testing to find out what was causing these issues. We arrived a Dr ,who wasn't Dr springer ,stated ,"we need to treat this condition first with medication. 20 minutes later a nurse arrived with discharge paperwork. I asked why they were sending him home she went and got a Dr Craig. He asked what types of medication he was taking. I told him. I also told him that my husband had an enlarged heart. He stated, "what's your insurance like?. I said, "we don't have any. He said, we have a cardiologist here but you just need to check with your primary care provider and work out a payment plan with a cardiologist I am going to recommend. Sent him home! !! Great care.

I loved the L&D floor, but if you have to visit the ER for any reason the billing can become tedious at best and impossible at the worst. They bill 6-7 outside places for your one visit. I kept receiving bills for 10 months after my visit. ER visits are stressful enough without the billing nightmares.

Umm. Arrive hear at the ER with my wife at 1800 hours. She broke her toe. And proud to say not so much as an ice pack. It's now 2145 hours still in the damn waiting room. My advise to all those in this particular situation. Cut your toe off and cauterize the wound yourself. Way better treatment than the ER will provide it. Update on what happened: My wife got called back to her own room at about 2300 hours. A doctor came in and spoke with her at that time for all of five minutes as a nurse took her vitals. At about 0230 I step out and look down to the nurses station. If I'm lying I'm dying, 2 of the nurses were sleep, and the good doctor was playing a game on her cellphone. One final looks up and sees the utter disbelief/disgust on my face and gets the doctors attention. I abruptly walk away and go back to our room and report back to my hurting wife. 10 minutes later, not a doctor, not a nurse but a technician came in with a roll of athletic tape and taped her 2 toes together. 30 minutes later the doctor returned with discharge papers. We couldn't run outta there fast enough. Two weeks later we get the bill, damn near five hundred dollars. Awsome

Be prepared to be spend your entire day here if you come to this ER and you won't always get to see a doctor you have to see a nurse. I was there a total 9 hours straight. I'm home and still in pain.

Barbara Manley

If you have to go to the ER IN Jackson, go here...even if it means a wait. They treat patients nicely. They don’t yell at patients during discharge. They treat you the way they would want to be treated if they were a patient. Great job!!! Also, kudos to Dr, Kyle Clifton and PA Cayley Hawley. They treated me with the utmost respect prior to my gallbladder surgery. Never questioned if I was really hurting...I was, and was severely dehydrated. They really understand patient care and are truly two of the best medical professionals I have ever encountered. Thank you for taking care of me inmy time of need.

My fiancé had a classical c-section just 3 weeks ago and was in agonil pain. We have a 3 week old and a 1 and a 1/2 year old in the ER with us. They take her vitals and send her out to the waiting room in the absolute worst pain of her life. We sat there for nearly an hour and the most we heard was from a lady taking vitals in triage that we should move down the hall so we can hear our name better. So I ask another staff member how long it will be and she says there is 8 people ahead of her and it will be a good little wait. Meanwhile I look around the waiting room and she is obviously the only one sitting there in tears! This place is a joke !!! We left and told them at the front desk that we are going to Tennova Regional and they have the audacity to ask for her name to I'm sure try and bill her for the 3 mins of time they gave her for vitals. Jackson General Hospital is run by crooks who see you as nothing more than a number. In an equal sized waiting room Tennova Regional had her in a room with a doctor in just under 15 minutes. And come to find out her gallbladder had to be taken out in a matter of hours due to infection . But Jackson General would rather her suffer than get her in a room with pain relief. Tennova Regional recognized her pain and immediately deemed it necessary to give her morphine, just as they deemed it necessary she see a doctor. If you have an emergency that is potentially life threatening or even wellness related , I would recommend that you choose anywhere but Jackson General. You are nothing more than a number to them. They are a big fish in a small pond and are only out to get your vitals and make you suffer in an emergency situation until they decide you've suffered to their standards. And if you don't wait 5 hours just to get a room like some of these poor people, they will still bill you for a blood pressure test and thermometer that you could've done yourself in your home. This hospital is in no hurry to help suffering patients, just to bill you for a temperature you could've got at home. DONT TRUST THESE PEOPLE!!!

Melissa Griffy

This hospital saved my life. Went above and beyond for me and my family. I think 28th any reviews it's the patients attitude that makes the most of an experience. I went from being in a coma to life when they prepared my children but they never have up and after 61 days I was able to go back home to my kids.

Let me start out by saying the nursing staff is wonderful. But the wait in the er is awful. My husband has been there 5 times within the last 4 years. He has bad attacks with throwing up severe abdominal pain uncontrollably sweeting. They have tested for gallbladder and pancreatitis they say that it's neither one. The last visit was Thursday August 24 2017. We arrived at 11:15am to the er. They finally admitted him and got him in a room 9 hours later. The nurses do their best and we have no problem with them. It's the Dr's. There theory is get him eased. They don't research they symptoms they treat them don't try to figure out why your loved one is in all this pain. They give a pain shot and zolfran. After 4 days of fluids and ice it's the same each visit. Then want to send ya home. Well Monday 28th the gastro Dr on-call came in at 3am as usual and said if your numbers are OK we're gonna see about getting you out of here. We got ya eased he said. My husband reply was I'd like to find out what is causing this. The Dr said well how many times have you already been here without it being unexplained, like why should we try to figure it out this time we haven't any other time. Well that's not the answer a patient is wanting to hear. So needless to say my husband checked himself out ama and said he would not go back to that facility again. They are not compassionate about their patients. At least not with our problems. We have heard several people say within the last three days that they were treated the same way. So we still don't know any more than what we did. It's like if they can't google it and get the answer they don't try anything different to find out the cause.

Horrible ER experience. Nurse gave me a pain drug that I was severely and deathly allergic to.

My Grandmother, who is my Earth Angel, was sent to JMCGH last month for a stroke and was kept on the Neuro floor for 3 days. All the Dr's, Nurses, Radiology Techinians, Phlebotomist, Aids, Cleaning Staff, Cafeteria Crew, Admissions Personnel, Assistants, Transporters, and the Security Guard (that stood in the rain to unlock my car door) they were all so understanding and compassionate, showing a level of professionalism that is rare to find today while also allowing us to leave there stronger than we came by offering a lighter mood when the moment presented itself. My family and I are still talking and laughing about some of our experiences there and the people there that made us forget the stress if only for a little while at a time. I wish I could personally thank each and every one of them!

My daughter recently had a baby there. The staff was mostly friendly..but nobody informed her ahead of time that they provide nothing for the baby. When she delivered her other children..the hospital provided gowns and everything the baby needed till they went home.Here..she didn't even receive a new mother bag..which I thought was standard. The Dr.barely got there in time to catch the baby..although she kept telling the nurse the baby was crowning..All in all..we were very disappointed in the services we received there.

My 2 year old son wasn't feeling well and developed a bad cough. We were there at 9pm and waited over an hour and 45 minutes with person after person called that came in after us. My son needed to be in bed resting. When we got up to take him home to rest, we were chased out with the promise of a room but no guarantee of when someone would be able to see him, because there were other people more important than a sick baby, that needed to be seen.

Jamie Harrison

My uncle was admitted to the hospital after a ER visit. He was put on the 8th floor. The nurses were rude. We had to ask them 3 times within 2 hours for them to come in there and help him. My brother spend the night up there with him and he said they showed no sympathy or bed side manner. We will never go to this hospital again. None of our family!

Nathan Trask

Waited 4 hours with chest pains before I saw anyone. Took EKG. Then left. Four hours and no nitro or aspirin. I left and went to Regional. The nurse chastised me saying he was helping a quadraplegic that just had astroke to her car. I asked if he was supposed to discuss other patients like that and he stormed off.

Mary Lou Sutton

Almost 4 hours waiting in the emergency room.

Kati Rohdy

I've been here several times and have left feeling satisfied with the care I received. The labor and delivery team is very attentive and kind. I've read the other reviews about the long wait times in the ER but that hasn't been my experience. Of course, the waiting room wasn't crowded either. The doctors are professional and direct.

The doctors and nurses on the 9th floor are the best. My mom was diagnosed with Lymphoma within a few days, and they started chemo treatments immediately. Dr. Steven Williams is very knowledgeable and he's always happy to answer questions. Dr. Fu is an excellent oncologist. Tonya is a RN and has a great sense of humor. She's a lot of fun to be around. But all the nurses are so sweet! Everyone has been so nice to us and they all make sure that Mom is as comfortable as possible. Y'all are an awesome team! Thank you so much for helping my mom!

Frog Push eye on weather

All in all a much better hospital then Dyersburg & Jackson Regional with over a 600% mark up. Yes depending on those brought in by ambulance or Air Evac, they come first. I was treated with respect, especially when I went into anaphylactic shock from the plastic tape. They was fast to respond. Being I've been on both sides I understand what they have to do to keep everything running. Remember you're not the only patient, they have abnormal amount of people coming in to see them. When having an issue with nurse take it up with nurse manager. I was having migraines each morning while waiting three days to rehydrate me so I could get two units of blood. Nurse was cocky, but the doctor was there and seen my vitals. He told her to step out of the room and apologized to me. I explained I wake to them everyday. The room was filled with dust intensifying my allergies, asthma & migraine. When he left he told nurse to go home and not to come back. Another nurse came in to help with migraine. You are your voice, with that do it in a respectful manner if you want to be treated with respect & taken seriously!

My daughter had rebound abdominal pain so we went to the er. Don't hold your breath to be waited on, you'll die first. She was doubled over in pain, chaos in the waiting room, and an elderly lady who was there before us puking in the waiting room and not one person on staff in the waiting area tended to her. Maybe they need to upgrade the batteries in the miracle ears because you could not have misses the sound or maybe instead of getting too comfortable in your position, the should bring some humanity back to the workplace. This is the second time we've been there and neither time were we seen after an extensive wait, so we left and went to another hospital. Seems like you have to be privileged to get seen in this hospital.

Jackson General Hospital is the worst and I believe some what racist my opinion. They give you no information. The suggest you talk to the director to find out they in meetings all day. Who ever the director is. Never had the opportunity to speak to that person. Wish I could give them no star.

Colleen Rue

My friends the Neff family are scheduled to have one of their children here in a few days.Your staff has always been good to them. Thanks for taking such great care of my friends.

Mslovely Tiara

There is a openly racist rn there named Clayton Glover and they continue to let him work there he wore a T-shirt to the polls with a confederate flag and a noose on it I’m pretty sure that it is black residents there so why continue to let a racist man work there

alex bonick

As a paramedic who has worked all over TN, this is a great hospital based on the somewhat small population size/area it serves. Yes, the ER is always busy, but that is because this is your only choice between Memphis and Nashville for anything larger than a tiny rural ER. Excellent cardiac and stroke teams here! Quality of care here outshines many similar or larger hospitals in middle and west TN.

Chels Kee

Mostly good quality but none of the doctors seem to talk to each other. You come in and have to tell every single new person who enters the same information and answer the same questions over and over and one of the doctors came in, asked 2 (pretty condescendingly toned) questions, realized she wasn't needed and left. Apparently the ER computer system isn't connected to the hospital itself either so all your paperwork has to be redone. They need to work on internal communication badly.

Dr Niblett and Brandy Bartholomew are the most awesome team. I went to them with back problems, had the surgery scheduled and performed all in a very timely manner. The team who took care of me from start to finish was the most Awesome Group of People. Thank You So Much for fixing my back.

This was the worst experience in my life!!! The ER sucks!! I have extensive cardiac history. I came in for chest pain. I had already has 3 nitro and 4 aspirin prior to arrival at 3 am. The Dr gave me 3 more at 5 am. No relief from any of it. Now my blood pressure dropped (duh) I have a severe headache and chest is hurting worse. The a.m. Dr finally came in and said I could have something for pain. That was at 7 a.m. and it is now 830 am. Nurse won't even answer my call. So still hurting with chest and head and they admitting me now.nursr said Dr ordered u morphine and they will give it to u upstairs.. still waiting still in pain... ridiculous. Don't come here if you don't have insurance..

Janet Flannery

If I could give this place a MINUS 1000, I certainly would. My granddaughter was brought in by AMBULANCE after having a FEBRILE SEIZURE at her pediatricians office ,to this ridiculous ER. Sent home without any ANTIBIOTICS. I'm sure "Your literature" You poor excuse for a DR, tells you not to prescribe antibiotics to prevent resistance........but, obviously you KNOW NOTHING about babies! ALL LITERATURE states that children under 2 should have antibiotics based on the severity of their symptoms.........how severe did her symptoms have to be???????? 102.6 temp, febrile seizure? Did you have your dunce cap on today???> Are you new??? > Or are you just fing STUPID????????

The emergency room wait is terrible, it was not even a lot of people there, when I was there it looked like the staff members was trying to eat instead of caring for patients would not recommend Jackson General. I recommend Regional, they were great, the wait was not long at all.

They neglected my husband to death 6 years ago today.

The only reason that I didn't give this hospital a 1 star is because they did get blood and labs within the 3 hrs that we were there. Don't waste your time, Go To Regional!

The wait time in the ER is ridiculous every time I come here. It is also filthy. I sat here for several hours and after being treated rudely by one of the staff I decided to complain about the filthy condition of the ER waiting room. She replied that due to the crowd she did not realize that it was dirty. You wold have to be BLIND to not see the filth. SMH. I wish I could attach pictures.

Dr. Welsch, Melinda, Tysa, Holley, Ms. Linda, those are the names I remember; however everyone from the doctor to housekeeping were amazing. Thanks for making my Sept 26-29 stay as pleasant as it could be due to the circumstances. Ladies, I definitely recommend my praying and believer in prayer Dr. Welsch.

My c-section prep crew was amazing. But....it all went downhill from there. Seems like it matters who your nurse is. One nurse was very unpleasant and thought maybe I had postpartum depression because I was extremely exhausted and in pain. I filled out papers for my daughter's birth certificate and only got a call stating I needed to change some of my records in order to get it? I called and the woman had no clue what I was calling about. I expected they'd come by but they never did. One month later and still no birth certificate. Next, upon discharge I was given no pain medicine to go home with. At all. I didn't even have any pain medicine the day I was discharged. It was in my discharge papers and the only thing the nurse did was ask another nurse who replied that my OB "preferred natural pain remedies." I was in excruciating pain until the next day (Monday) when I could call my OB's office when I had to drive an hour to pick up the prescription in jackson.

It is there place to provide medical professionals in place to take care of sick people in emergency room 7 hours. Is way to long to wait but they running test without seeing a Dr don't seem right to me pull people off the floor if you have to.1 Dr on call I wished it was half star.I see the legal blunder on this one

Linda Ubelhor-Rice

So far, our experience with the hospital staff has been great. One night nurse has been especially great. Her name is Lauren Lee . thanks. She was so helpful and kind to us. 10 stars should be awarded her.

I was in the hospital in August. I was treated like an important person. The Dr and nurses in ER were super, also all nurses on my floor were wonderful, normal wait times for getting meds I was impressed .Next time they were ungodly hateful. I complained about the one snippy attitude and my nice nurse said I didn't have to put up with that. The nurse who replaced her, wouldn't give me my meds, they were both disrespectful as I would push the button and Snippy was on that, little games played, even when I coughed they would mimic me, both of them. Until the nurse discharged me. I asked to talk to a Dr as I only saw a Dr once the first day I was told no I was discharged. I was still sick and they refused to let me talk to a Dr. I would give less stars but the other staff was good. But the ER rooms are filthy. BTW, I was there with congestive heart failure, copd, and bleeding in the esophagus. I still can't believe I never saw a Dr before discharge. The last time was after I had the scope for the bleeding they found. Ridiculous.

The accessibility of this hospital is VERY good, and this hospital has one of the highest-ranked cardiovascular programs in the entire United States.

My father had bladder tumor surgery, which was cancerous, by Dr. Howard (we were very satisfied with his care). Dad had other problems too. In the past, Dr. Shah has been amazing at dealing with my father's issues. Dad left for heaven on Tues, Jan 24 after spending 21 days in room #429. We all agreed that under Dr. Wheatley, Dr. Webb, Dr. Sprague and the stellar nursing staff, the care, comfort and attention afforded our father was exceptional. Three of his children live in different states and we all remarked at how wonderful the staff at Jackson-Madison served him. Thank you. Your touch and love surrounded us when he and we, needed it most! He is with our Lord seeing unimaginable sights and praising God. Be blessed beyond.. your imagination.

Had our baby here. The staff was really helpful and looked out for us. I’m very pleased with my experience.

have tried to contact them to see if they accept my insurance, twice i was transferred to a department that wouldnt answer tha phone, now when i call they hang up, if that dept is closed thats cool just do their job and tell me its closed then i could have been in route elsewhere but instead hang tha phone up on me, the care and deep compassion flowing from that place is powerfully overwhelming! my loved one just arrived at milan f$%k jackson regional and their dime store staff too!! because of all the good things ive heard about their cardiovascular/coronary unit this was my first choice yeah i want tha best for my family who doesnt? but having obviously unqualified staff such as i endured tonight at this facility badly represents the entire hospital as well as the medical team no matter how professional they are accredited to be! this was a huge disappointment for us but it is what it is, oh i had to give them at least 1 star just to be able to post this review!

Went there about a month ago, after being transferred from Humboldt General. I received better care at Humboldt General. Wait over 7 hrs just to receive a GI cocktail and a nitroglycerin tablet and a script for reflux and nitroglycerin tablets. Just to be told wasn't sure if I was having a cardio or stomach issue to go to my regular doctor. Come to find out that I have an impacted bowel that my doctor found by doing a simple x-ray, still having chest pain problems. Why did they not do the simple x-ray? So thanks for nothing and the huge bill.

This place helped my Grandpa live longer than 3 mths he ended up living for a total of 7 months

The nurses and staff of the Cardiac ICU were top notch. Caring and very personal.

Inefficient service. Just because it's lunch time and you're ready to go doesn't mean you inconvenience the people who are relying on your service. They either need to keep the admissions desk fully staffed at all times to keep up with their incoming patients or hire efficient workers who focus on their jobs when they're on the clock.

I will Never in my life unless I'm found dead will ever go to this hospital! They are judgemental. They do not listen to you at all. Every patient is drug tested, which is cool, until they tell you, you're positive for something you know you did not take. So then you're labeled. When you need help with some other issue that's clearly not drug related, they don't listen nor do they care to listen. I absolutely hate this hospital and I hope the walls fall where they land. Patients come first, that's a joke! Your paycheck does. FYI to all patients pay very close attention to information that is sent to your Dr from this place.

Recently I had an Outpatient Test (Endoscopy). While in Recovery as I was waking from my induced sleep I was greeted with HORRIFIC PAIN, which I am sure was due to not having my normally scheduled morning meds, NOT DUE TO the Test I had just had. I was also Greeted at that moment of moaning, by a voice from across the room YELLING to me that I had just received a pain shot and the voice ended by YELLING, "YOUR OKAY HONEY!" (I guess she thought she could tell my PAIN it didn't EXIST!! Oh let's give her a name shall we. JENNIFER. Oh excuse me NURSE JENNIFER. To her I say, I think the other Patients enjoyed her YELLING as much as I did, Then to my horror another NURSE joined in, her name NURSE EMILY. She came over to me and I let her know I wanted to leave, which was do to all the rudeness and she said little except when I asked her if she liked her job she said yes, HMMM..I thought to myself. She obliged me with my request about leaving, once her partner in crime NURSE JENNIFER, YELED out " YOU WILL HAVE TO SIGN SOME PAPER." The Paper's Name a BLURR because I was in a BLURR. Then NURSE EMILY takes out my IV with SUCH FORCE that it BLED THROUGH the Gauze she SLAPPED on the area by the time I sat down in a wheel chair to leave this DEN of UGLINESS. I have had Crohns Disease for 34 years and I have only experienced 3 bad NURSES within that period of time, 2 are EMILY and JENNIFER in RECOVERY who I pray are not my Gastroenterologists Nurses that are to be there for any FUTURE TESTS, If they are his NURSES I AM SCREWED out of a VERY GREAT PHYSICIAN! Remember ALL PHYSICIANS; "Your ONLY AS GOOD AS YOUR RECEPTIONIST AREA TO YOUR RECOVERY TEAM!" Those are the bookends that Patients go by. And TO THE NURSING STAFF; A PATIENT IS A HUMAN BEING WHO DID NOT ASK TO BE SICK NOR ASK FOR ALL THE TESTS THEY HAVE TO HAVE DONE TO THEM. That is the PHYSICIAN IN CHARGE'S ORDERS. You work in a facility that requires you to SMILE whether you feel like it or not. THAT IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT ROLES A NURSE HAS TO PULL OFF. Sorry to break it to you but you signed up for it! So IF I DECIDE to have my Colonoscopy done, it will have to be in the hospital because of the nature of my condition, (I am at Risk my Physician has said for a possible tear) Tricky for him but a DIFFICULT DECISION for me. If I decide not to go through with it because of THE 2 NURSES IN RECOVERY, JENNIFER AND EMILY, I will have to choose another doctor. NOT A GREAT THING to have to go through since I was sure was it. Jackson General, you need to get up off your butt and get rid of any nurse that mis-treats any patient!! You will hear more from me I assure you. BTW in order to get this posted I had to give a star, against my better judgment.

My first born was super easy thanks to the people at jackaon general, very helpful. After the birth gave pain meds as requested and helpful with feeding and nb tips and got to be left alone to rest with newborn when they were asked also great with follow up checkups for baby. The food was amazing i couldn't be happier that day, thanks for being apart of it and welcoming my newborn into the world!

This place is awful to there employee especially the nursing staff, they expect them to work more and more for no more money, no incentive, no bonus, no increase vacation time off, the weekend shift is to work not only weekends but weekdays for less money..... that’s not what weekender means. You would think the CEO James Ross would understand since he was a nurse at one point but no they don’t give a rats a** about there workforce. I will never work there ever again, I’m glad I found a way out and had the ability to leave and find a job that appreciates me and rewards me for the work I do.
