Dr. Rand and his nurse practitioner, Melinda, failed to disclose any changes in my mother's ejection fraction when it had dropped significantly in a short amount of time. Instead we were told there were no changes. It wasn't until we talked to her primary physician who relayed to us that there was another significant drop in her ejection fraction that was found during the tests at North Central Heart and that she now had less than 20% ejection fraction. This is something that should have been followed up on and if we would have been told of these changes right away, we may not be in the position that we are now where it is too late. We could have tried to do something to help her and prevent this from getting worse. The two of these individuals handled this situation in a very unprofessional way and we are disappointed in the care they provided to my mother. I would highly recommend getting a second opinion if receiving care from this doctor.
