Couldn't believe my ears. Then my physician rolled his eyes at my question. How arrogant are the doctors here. It's your job to give your patients medical attention. Not your Condescending behavior!

I’d give less if it was possible. Worst experience ever. I’m from Texas used to excellence in the medical world this was horrid.

Walking in to the main entrance of the ER, I was initially quickly greeted by two post-op nurses who put me in a wheelchair, as I was doubled over in pain. The two women rushed me to an ER room, where ER nurses quickly took over. I was soon after seen by Dr. Hoskins who was phenomenal. Very knowledgeable and caring staff. The only reason I can’t give them 5 stars is because of a small mishap with my last name, so it took longer to get an emergency CT Scan. This could be due to the fact that my entry into ER admissions was all very rushed, as they were trying to get me in, but I can’t fault them for that!

Insurance Fraud!!! My husband broke a rib and I originally took him to the Roper Urgent Walk-in clinic on James Island. We were told they don't have an x-ray machine and urged us to go to the ER (later found out they did have a machine, so why were we turned away??). Waited over 2 hours for an x-ray at the ER, and yep, it was a broken rib and an invoice for $3700 for the x-ray. I asked for an itemized invoice and the invoice has charges for a blood count lab and an EKG - NEITHER PROCEDURE was done to my husband. I'm sure they're good doctors, but if you're death is not imminent I'd definitely choose Doctors Care or MEDcare over Roper.

I have never been treated in less caring way than this. They lack compassion and have no empathy. Now, I understand that they're medical professionals and with time they might have become desenthesized to seeing sick people, but then they should pack up and go home. Quit doing such disservice to the community. The compassion pledge hanging on the wall is just a joke. I left the hospital feeling just as bad as when I arrived there. The bathroom floor was disgusting and dirty with drops of urine. The treating doctor was sweet and understanding but I only saw him for couple of minutes, if that. The rest of the staff made me want to run away if I physically could. This place really needs a close look. I'm sure I will be getting a bill from them that amounts to thousands of dollars. Outrageous.

Walked in with a work related injury (laceration) and was immediately triaged, and seen by a nurse and doctor. Wound was closed and I was out the door and back at work within a hour. Great, caring, and cordial folks.

Roper medical staff is very accommodating, knowledgeable, skilled, and professional. I trust that I am, or my loved ones, are in great hands while at Roper.

You wait forever no matter what your pain scale is. When you finally get into your room, they basically sit you on a cold bed and leave you for another hour. They don't offer you water, or a blanket in the freezing cold room. Very disappointed and will never return here. The drive to Mt. Pleasant is worth getting decent service.

When I recently went in with acute abdominal pain, the initial triage nurse said everything was full (it's flu season) and they would get me back toa room ASAP. In less than 30 minutes I was in a room, awaiting a CT scan (that had the longest wait time). The ER nurse, Shelley, was kind, funny, attentive, and covering a lot of ground. She also got an 18 gauge IV in with barely a pinch! I was offered blankets initially, then water after my CT scan. Within 3.5 hours I was assessed, scanned, diagnosed, seen by the doctor twice, given meds and released. I can't give it 5 stars, because the patient rooms are in need of repair. Curtains are falling apart and/or off their tracks and cannot be closed all the way. I felt bad for the very exposed, 8 month pregnant lady across the hall :(

Wait time 2 b seen was toooo long, 4+ hours. Typical "hospital" ER. UPDATE:⬇️ I go to the outside emergency care OUTLET areas along the side of the road-wether it b Ropers,MUSCs, CVSs, Walgreens, whomever is closer at the moment-its FASTER, like, according to your ailment its an hr or less

It’s an ER- it goes without saying that no one likes needing to go to the ER. With that said, having unfortunately been here twice, I would not suggest it. In my experience, the staff has been rude and unresponsive. Ask for a blanket (which they don’t offer) and you’ll wait an hour or two and have to ask a bajillion more times- even when they are seemingly not busy. This goes with everything else as well- the staff acts more like they’re doing you a favor rather then taking care of you. They also don’t thoroughly inquire on medical history (which is frightening). I am new to the area and didn’t know where to go, hence why I chose roper. With that said- I’d suggest heading to MUSC.
