My 16 year old daughter has been seen by Children's Hospital twice since we moved here from Mauritania in December. We have been treated very, very well by the doctors, nurses, and all technicians. Our first visit was for a severe migraine headache. We sat in the waiting area maybe ten minutes. Today, she was seen for tachycardia. Everyone actually listened to her, to us, they were patient with all of my questions and concerns. They have always been extremely considerate with our religious beliefs and the need for modesty; this is so appreciated... The MyChart access makes everything seamless; her cardiologist already has the full report from this morning. This will make tomorrow's in-office appointment so much more efficient. This morning the on-call pediatric cardiologist took my call while he was driving, but pulled over to calm me down and get accurate information on my daughter. Hours after his shift he arranged tomorrow's office visit and coordinated care with the emergency room physician. He also kept her actual cardiologist informed at every opportunity right up to my daughter's arrival at the emergency room.

We took our son into the ER for an infection on his leg. Everything was going well up to the point of treatment. The resident physician did not apply any subdermal local anesthetic when making incisions to drain his infection as well as used a non-sterile instrument on an open incision. Our son was screaming in pain as the resident was cutting, digging in and squeezing his infection, and yet the medical staff took no measures to mitigate this. Instead, they kept him pinned down while inflicting more pain. The in-charge physician disregarded recommendations made by my sons primary care physician in regards to treatment and medications, and instead sent my son home. By the following day, my sons infections had worsened resulting in having to be directly admitted to the GHS Children’s Hospital via his primary care physician for the EXACT SAME REASON as the ER visit. We contacted the patient relations office and voiced our concerns about the treatment received in the ER only to get an extremely vague response and little to no comfort in that resolution had been reached . We will not be returning to the GHS Children’s Hospital Emergency Room. Instead we will seek other places of immediate treatment if needed.

My son is here for a kidney stone and the nurses and staff are amazing. Lots of things for the kids to do. They have DVD's and video consoles in the room for their enjoyment. There's a game room with toys, pool table, air hockey, Wii, Xbox One, and a computer.

No parking in Emergency Room but the have 50 spots blocked for 2 old trailers of some sort. Then you have to wait in line for a metal detector. Good God. It's an EMERGENCY room. You think it would be easier to get in.
