My 2 month old came in with RSV and the doctors and nurses were so attentive and helpful in making him comfortable and keeping me calm while he recovered. The patient rooms could be improved upon but aside from that, the level of care is wonderful.

I swear this is the most awful children's hospital there is. The staff is lazy, they'll tell you the wait is only 30 minutes even though there is a waiting room full of people and you wait for over 3 hours, you'll have over 4 doctors/nurses to talk to you but ask you the same thing like they don't check their charts. I went there for gastro problems an I went back over 6 times with no results, I also went for a simple surgery then ended up staying for an extra 3-4 days for "extreme involuntary movements", I woke up from my surgery jumping like I was coming out of a drug withdrawal! They sent me home and I still had the jumping for another whole week. I could walk to the bathroom without coming back to my room and looking like I was having a seizure. And they served me food with butter in it when they knew that Im badly lactose intolerant. When I couldn't get out the bed to go to the bathroom I called a nurse and she didn't coming till 10 minutes later so i got tired and tried to get out of the bed by myself and when she finally came she got mad at me for trying to get out of bed by myself.. I was about to pee myself I couldn't wait anymore and she was just taking her sweet time... So yea I really wouldn't recommend this hospital you will be wasting your time and money

My daughter is in the Nicu currently here. Let me just start my saying I am grateful she came out healthy at 29 weeks but I have been treated funny since she has been here they don't treat me like her mother . Everything I do is wrong. One of the nurses went off on me for trying to breastfeed. We have no privacy Im going to have to try very hard to get over my experience today to go back to visit her because they are honestly making me depressed. They make me feel like I cant even care for my own child. And that is a very painful feeling

I cant even describe how pleased i am with the experience we had at this hospital. My daughter had to go in for a surgery and they made her, me, and her mother feel so good while we were there.They kept us calm and explained everything in great detail. Everyone we came in contact with made us feel like they really cared about us. My daughter had to have a tooth pulled while she was under and one of the Dr's or nurses put money under her pillow from the tooth fairy for her to find when she came to!! If the rating went up to 10 stars, thats what i would give. Thank ya'll so much for making a tough day for us REALLY EASY!!!!

I am very pleased with the way Dr. Hubbird and his staff today with my 7 year old daughter located on the 2nd floor at 7 Medical Park. She had to go in for an MRI and they went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. Dr. Hubbird is definitely in the right profession because his bed side manner with small children is impeccable. I would also like to thank everyone at admissions and registration for making us feel welcome. I truly appreciate all of you and may God bless you all. Thank you!

If your child is really sick and you’re looking for help quick don’t come here! I’ve been here waiting for 4 hours and they have no answers for when my baby is going to be seen. They say they go by order but it has been numerous people came in after us that has been seen. Meanwhile we’re sitting in the lobby and my child is burning up with fever. Never again!!

My daughter was just there for a surgery and for anyone who's ever had to go through it,it is the worse feeling in the world. Full of stress and worry and praying all goes well. But this place helps ease that worry, and is more beautiful and amazing with people who care and make it less stressful. Her surgone Camps is the best and a miracle worker and the team that is there from nurses ,to anastioglist, to the child life are all amazing and I would never go or trust anyone else's with her.Simply put if you care for your loved one and want a staff that will as well go here.

The care my child received was good. BUT Room was filthy when my child was admitted. There was a half eaten sandwich tucked inside the couch for who knows how long. The shower was dirty. I had called to get a cot brought to the room. Three hours later still no cot. I found one in the hallway and wiped it down myself just to have a place to sleep. Online billing is a joke. They use a flash plugin which is know to be vulnerable to hacks. You have to use an old version of IE to access it. Even after you register, you never receive a link to activate your account. I'm pretty sure the entire online payment system is broken. I wouldn't trust putting my credit card information into it and you shouldn't either. So now I have to waste more of my time calling to make a payment for a bill I received 5 months after the visit.

If I could give this hospital NO STARS I would!!! How in the HEIGHT of the flu epidemic do you NOT test 3 CHILDREN WHO HAD a sibling TEST POSITIVE! Oh I know...You tell the patient that you DON'T HAVE ANY TESTS but try to pacify them with...oh if it was -/+ your treatment would be the same....oh and NO we're NOT giving you ANY prescriptions EVEN THOUGH your 3 year old CLEARLY has a fever! And Blame it in the CDC! And tell me it's not their fault they ran out of supplies?!! So I asked if you're NOT testing people...The CDC's number CAN'T be accurate...it's probably MUCH HIGHER? They looked dumbfounded Now I see how people are dying from the flu!

I have been going there since I was a baby up until I turned 19. They have always taken great care of me! My kids most definitely will be going there!!! Dr. Balance is a very sweet and patient doctor, she always made sure that I knew what they were doing (even if it was to give me a shot) she would always talk me through a procedure. I had to have blood drawn and instead of them doing it through my arm, they gave me a poke on the finger and made special accommodations due to my fear of needles. My favorite thing about going was the staff was very friendly and they always took extra special care in me and my family. I love the entire staff up at Richland Memorial. (right next door to Palmetto Health Children's Hospital). Also, the staff at Palmetto Health Children's Hospital did a very good job with my epigastric hernia surgery, they knew I was terrified of needles and they gave me all types of calming relief such as a numbing cream, a tiny little prick in the top corner of my left hand, and they threaded the I.V. through my vein with out any fight or any crying. I will admit that I did whimper a bit but only because I was scared. I LOVE ALL OF THE STAFF SO MUCH! AND YALL DO AN AMAZING JOB!!! THANKS FOR TAKING CARE OF ME AND MY FAMILY FOR 19 YEARS <3

I came to this hospital and waited in the ER for a minimum of 4-5 hours. After asking the front desk staff how much longer I would be waiting before seeing a doctor they replied with a silly look, "they don't know and that I'm waiting along with others who have been in the ER for at least 4hrs. They never gave any updates or apologies for the seriously long wait time. I don't think I'll be coming here again, with this sorry and unprofessional staff.

My 4 y/o daughter went through an absolutely unnecessary traumatic incident there. Before a procedure my wife specifically told the nurse staff that we wanted her to receive a sedative because the first iteration of this went horrible. While she said it isn't standard practice, she never articulated this to the doctor. Didnt even bring it up to him! My daughter then had to be restrained by the staff while they shoved a tube in her nose, bled, and vomitted. She's been there for over 24 hours and my wife hasn't seen the doctor one time...in 24+ hours, not once! Clearly my daughter is just another patient filling a room there, helping to pay the bills. No care or concern for her as 4 yo scared little girl whatsoever

My best friend just had eye surgery here, she was in the PICU for almost a month. The nurses always went above and beyond for her and it was so so nice. I brought them chocolate to show my appreciation, but it honestly just wasn't enough. They were just the best.

My son has been hospitalized a few times due to a serious illness. I agree that the ER is quite busy but the staff definitely takes care of you. The hospital is very clean and well taken care of you. The doctors are awesome, the staff is great, sedation is the best, and I have to give a lot of respect to two doctors in particular. Dr Abernath is a man you can always trust and Dr Erith knows his patients needs. Thank you for everything and we will see you all soon for another surgery.

I took my little girl to the children’s Er yesterday and not one nurse came in to talk to me or check her. The doctor acted like he didn’t even care. My child has a cyst and it’s growing bigger and all he said was yea yea right. I also waited almost a hour for the doctor and all the doctors and nurses was out there just talking and laughing like they don’t have a job to do. My child did not get any help from the doctors at all. The doctor was very disrespectful.

I didn't have a problem with the people here, but their billing practices are criminal. We had to pay 100% upfront before we could even schedule our son's procedure. Not only that, but they couldn't/wouldn't even tell me how they came to the amount. After his procedure, I called to get a final bill and they said it could take a week. I guess it's not easy trying to make numbers fit the total amount you pulled out of the air. Anyways, I called after a week and was told the receipt still isn't ready and to call back in a week. I asked if I could just be sent the receipt when it becomes available. Nope, I have to just keep calling and asking. These people should be ashamed. This hospital is a joke.

And a horrible nose bleed been sitting for hours with my child in pain and feeling dizzy. I dont even know where to start. I just hate this place. My child was suffering so bad and they wouldn’t care to give him a prescription because he did not have a medical insurance... They are like if you dont have a medical insurance, they will try their best to make you feel not welcomed and disappointed. Some of the nurses are so unprofessional. The doctors are so lame and unexperienced. Anyways I strongly do not recommend this place to even my worst enemy.

Had to give one star to post review, but they don't even deserve that. Worst place to ever take someone with a medical condition. I will NEVER take my child here again. We were sent over from another Dr. due to my child swallowing a half dollar size rock. After 2 days of checking on progress the rock has not moved. We were sent over to have a ped. GI go down her throat and remove rock before it became a major problem. The idiot resident that saw my daughter could have cared less about us, was very dismissive as I went over what we have been through the last few days, and what her complaints she was having. He said if she swallowed it she will eventually pass it. I was told by previous dr. that since it hasn't moved in two days it is not going to move. It is already causing air pockets and inflamation. Again Dr. was dismissive of this. He said she wasn't bleeding or spitting up blood, so she was fine. I told him that is why we were sent over here, because they were worried that it would come to that since it has not moved. He said I didn't need to bring her to hospital unless she was bleeding or choking. Gee.. so you would rather my child be half dead before you do something to help her out. Good to know. Will be seeking out legal help to make sure this idiot never sees another child again. He has no business being in medicine much less seeing children. He also said the other two dr.'s, we had seen at the other office who had the same view, were not real dr's because they were just family dr.'s and he was a pediatric resident he knew what he was talking about. I would not take my worst enemy to this hospital which should not even be called that.

Nurses were great but when the computer system went down they chose who got supper and they said they’d discharge me around lunch and came around 6 pm also the nurse asked the person at the desk to call transport and I was waiting like 45 minutes when they didn’t call them. Also the resident didn’t apologize for coming around 6 when they said they’d be there around lunch. Nurses are so friendly and are so helpful and they’ll act like your friends.

Unfortunately, my son has been admitted here several times in the last six months. We have interacted with many departments and every experience has been great. We have spent time in recovery, PICU; we have dealt with registration and logged several weeks collectively on just about every floor in the Children's Hospital. They have an outstanding Child Life program and staff. The nurses and physicians are among the best. I truly appreciate all of them. A special thanks to the Pediatric Neurosurgery team :)

The staff treats patients based on assumptions. Their nurses are highly unprofessional, rude, and don't communicate effectively. When I complained to the AOD I did not receive a response until I heard one of the nurses gossiping about my daughter's care and passing false information. When I confronted the nurse about her lack of integrity she called security and I had to call the police to get an administrator on the floor. After they tried to placate me for an hour, they proved themselves just as untrustworthy and lacking knowledge in the issue at hand. Don't go here unless you like being abused.

This is the worst hospital I ever been too. Only thing good about it is that it's clean. Me and my wife brought our daughter down here for surgery that was SCHEDULED FOR 12 P.M. its now 3 pm no one has even come to check on her doctor walked by once an hour ago saying it would be soon. Easily the worst hospital I’ve ever been to. The address here is 7 medical park however I was told by a lady in the surgery department to report to 5 medical park. Upon arrival at 6am I was met by a phone and a note on the receptionist desk, called and got transferred to security. Security promptly told me to calm down after a few words even though I was simply giving information about the appointment. I told her “I don’t need you to tell me to calm down I need you to tell me where to go”, so she transferred me again. Thankfully a random nurse helped me even though it wasn’t her job but not after walking a mile through the hospital and talking to 3 or 4 medical people behind computers that were dumbfounded. It wasn’t until she found a janitor who knew where to go that we found the correct place. Yes... a janitor did the job security couldn’t. I guess security’s whole purpose is to tell people to calm down, great tactic. Arrived finally at the children’s division at 6am which was the time of the appointment just to find out the appointment was at 730am. So not only did the children’s hospital employee that called making the appointment get the location wrong she also got the time wrong. Also a separate event when we had an MRI they took the WRONG pictures. They had to schedule me yet another one to make it right. Taking time out of my work and my daughters school. THIS PLACE IS TRASH....avoid at all costs....

A year ago my son had knee surgery did the nurse and doctors there was very nice the only problem I had was when I place a order for his food from the cafeteria area the silverware was already used and dirty it just look like somebody wrapped it up and put it in a clean napkin I was so upset about that because my son just had knee surgery did and he could have got a bad infection from that the nurse was in the room when I open up the napkin then she was like oh my gosh I am so sorry that whole day my son did not want to eat nothing the only thing they told me to do is order his food and ask for a plastic container and plastic silverware so I do not have nothing to worry about no more I had called and reported the incident what happened and I have let the hospital know that is very dangerous I thank God that I saw that silverware before I let my son put his mouth on it please please be careful these kids already sick please do not make them sicker than what they is already I think they need to watch out for the people who is preparing the food for the kids slow down and take your time preparing these food for the kids it's better for you to be safe then have a problem like this again
