The receptionist & X-ray lady’s are wonderful but...the nurses & doctor was horrible,I was there over 6hrs & the nurses & doctors were all playing around & not doing there jobs!! The doctor that came in was very rude & non concerned really & could care less,if you don’t care for your patients & is a problem, then you need a new professionThe doctor didn’t even know why am was there???You fill out all that paperwork for them to ask Why are you there?????You get paid enough to read charts!!!

DO NOT COME HERE. WAITED OVER 6 HOURS AND WAS NEVER SEEN. RUDE STAFF. ER WAITING AREA WAS DISGUSTING AND HAD NOT BEEN CLEANED IN SOME TIME. AGAIN, sat over 6 HOURS AND WAS NEVER SEEN. NO VITALS WERE EVEN TAKEN. NOTHING. I COULD HAVE SPENT LESS TIME TRAVELING TO ANOTHER STATE TO BE SEEN. PEOPLE HAVE LITERALLY DIED WHILE WAITING TO BE SEEN IN THIS FACILITY.

Got in immediately, but the doctor walked in almost literally 4 seconds asked me what the deal was. He didn’t tell me his name or acted like he was concerned. I was in so much pain from my gallbladder/pancreas that I was crying. He didn’t do any exam. Sent me for an ultra sound, came back... good news nothing is wrong with you. But here’s a prescription for Zantac. I lost my mind. I’ve never been so mistreated and insulted in my life. I would have never came there if I knew I was just going to be dismissed like that. If you want help, don’t even give this place a chance.

I brought my grandma to the hospital after months of her primary doctor & specialists not being able to find the cause of her pain from xrays and other procedures. As many of the elderly are, she is stubborn and doesn't have much money so going to the emergency room was a last resort. She had to wait for 6 hours to be seen while in pain and definitely would have left if she did not need to be seen. I must add that the emergency room screamed bacteria. It was dark, hot (I don't think they had the AC on) and gross. It needs a renovation or a serious cleaning. There were stains on the floor and a yellow, gross feel. Also, in our exam room .. I took photos. The counters were black. The cabinets had spots on them and the floors had yellow stains. I have been in other hospitals that you know are still gross but they looked clean. I could not believe how dirty the room was. Anyway, after our 6 hour wait, we met the Dr... Dr Scott Boch, I think it is spelled correctly.. he came into the room and listened to my grandma and I try to explain both her pain and things that have been done already to try to save him some time in the thinking process. Well to him, it wasn't much of a thinking process at all and it became obvious that he just wanted to turn over patients. Grandma was almost in tears when he told her, there's nothing we can do for you... There aren't any scans or tests we can conduct that will find anything on muscles or tendons. Grandma again in tears tries to explain it and he just talks right over her. Talks while she is talking. He said all we can do is check your urine. He goes out, doesn't say bye, feel better or anything.. so I'm thinking he will come back with the urine results. We wait 20-30 minutes more and the nurse comes back in with her discharge papers & she's free to go. No urine results, no doctor, nothing. 6 hours for absolutely nothing. Grandma asked to see another doctor and the nurse said, go to your primary doctor and gave no option of a second opinion. The nurse stated that they could not give pain meds because they didn't know how they would react with the medicines she was currently taking. I can understand that part. The nurse and the doctor kept saying to go to her primary doctor. Thing is, that's all we've been doing and it hasn't helped. She just took her papers and we left disappointed. I feel as though they didn't try. They didn't take blood. They didn't consider admitting her until they could find something. Nope, just suffer. Health care, especially in Columbia seems like it's all about money. Getting patients in and getting them out. Most do not even care about the patients. The only person in the Baptist ER who we encountered that had a positive attitude, was Franscene from registration. She's the lady who handles billing and insurance and she showed more kindess than doctors and nurses. Her smile was sincere and she lingered even when we knew she also had other duties to attend to. Thank you Franscene for being so kind. Do better Baptist, really. You're supposed to be one of the best if not ranked best hospital in Columbia. Do better Dr Scott Boch, I'm sure they taught you in your many years of school to control your facial expressions and to listen attentively and not talk over patients. I am also sure they taught you to figure it out instead of simply passing it on to someone else. Everyone's pain tolerance is different and you can not feel what she is going through or begin to know what she's dealing with, so you could have been more kind. You get paid well but do not let the money be most important to you. If you do not enjoy what you're doing or do not have compassion for people..you should find another career. You need to realize that people wait in that gross waiting room for hours hoping for results. Hoping for someone who will care enough to take time and figure it out. I hope people do not continue to be disappointed by meeting your attitude and lack of care. At least pretend to have compassion for the hurting or say feel better when you leave the room. Terrible experience.

A room to be seen in costs $2,900. Don't do it if you don't have to.

Best hospital I ever been to in my life. The doctors, nurses are the best. Respectful. Treating me better. I'm admitted in the hospital and my nurse Elizabeth is awesome. Thank you Palmetto Baptist for everything your doing for me to make me feel better instead of pushing me out the door. Thank you once again.

During the day, I waited for seven hours for a single IV bolus for dehydration. I was sent from another doctor's office who called ahead and was assured they had room. I was placed in a trauma room that I am sure could have been used for one of the many, many patients that were in the hallway on gurneys. I cannot imagine any reasonable person on the face of this earth who would consider this stay acceptable.

Came in for a second opinion and they refused to see me

Waiting in the EMR right now. Got here at around 2:00am. Had vitals taken and about 45 mins later, a nurse comes out And call Oneal. I get up and follow her. She says we need to get some blood work. She never checked my bracelet to ID me. So she begins to draw my blood, she had drawn two tubes, and I asked her at that moment what test were ordered for me. She said “they are trying to see how far along you are.” I said what do you mean. She said aren’t you pregnant. Is your name Tiffany Oneal? I said no, she said well I called Tiffany Oneal. I told her no, you called ONEAL. She drew my blood for a pregnant person y’all. And I really feel violated and abused in some type of way. One of the first things a nurse should do is ID her patient. Who can I speak with about this.

Worst experience ever! Got here at 7pm and didn’t leave till 1am. Came for a minor check up which was suppose to be a easy turn around and they take so long on everything. It’s unbelievable! Clearly not a emergency room- because you spend more time being in pain that getting treated for what you came in for.

Worst ER experience ever!!! My Fiancee was there for chest related issues and she was informed after a 20 minute wait, by an RN who asked her a few questions that that it was going to be a long wait. And when asked "how long the wait" he replied that it was a 5 hour wait!!! At which time we left and then went to Palmetto Health Richland hospital where she was immediately taken to triage!! DON'T EVER GO TO PALMETTO HEALTH BAPTIST IF YOU HAVE AN URGENT HEALTH CARE PROBLEM!!!

My son who attends USC has been complaining of abdominal pain all week, so we took him to the ER. We arrived at 1330 on a Saturday afternoon. The waiting room was very clean and the staff were very professional and courteous. We were brought into a room at 1545, which was a reasonable wait time given hat it was a Saturday and Game Day for USC. Thelma our registration/check in person was very nice and welcoming. She made us feel comfortable given the circumstances of our visit. Dr. Curly came into the room at 1600 and did an assessment. Our nurse Megan drew blood for testing. She is very proficient and professional. We left the ER at 1815 feeling good about the diagnosis and after care. We are from out of town and were so fortunate to have gone to this hospital. This was our second visit to an ER in two days for the same issue. We went to the ER at Palmetto Richland the day before we went to Palmetto Baptist and did not have a good experience. Hands down, Palmetto Baptist was 110% better than Palmetto Richland.

Was a patient throughout my pregnancy and childbirth. Very experienced and friendly staff. Thank you for your patience and assisting with my younger son during my visits.

Do not go here. I have taken my wife twice for life-threatening gastroinstinal issues and dehydration. The first time, the head nurse was angry that my wife requested a vein doppler to locate the place for a vein, so we waited for three hours. We were eventually seen and left at 2 AM. Miserable, but tolerable. Tonight, we returned, my wife vomiting blood. We waited for two hours for a 'specialist room." The entire ER was cleaned out, and actually closed around us. We were not taken back and had to leave. We will take care of this tomorrow morning first thing. At another facility. Where I am not concerned that my wife will die because they cannot be bothered to staff enough people. Funny thing is, the same nurse was in charge of triage there. This place is a rickety old lawsuit trap that is so overstuffed with people and mismanaged that it cannot perform its primary function: saving lives. FOR YOUR OWN SAKE, GO ELSEWHERE.
