I went to this emergency room last night my son and they didn't really know what was wrong w/ him, they gave him Benadryl and diagnosed him with a viral infection. I took him to his pediatrics this morning and in actually something else was wrong w/ my son and she didn't understand why he was misdiagnosed

The whole week we were there, the guest restroom was out of service and no one came to clean the guest area

Great care, awesome doctors, and nurses. Could do better with updates. On a side note I’ve never been to a hospital that had nurses as beautiful as they were here.

Cant speak for the ER part but my daughter was a direct admit to the pediatric surgery unit and i have never recieved better care for my self or my child.. Kristen our night nurse was absolutely AMAZING. Overall our experience here was top notch care compared to my previous experiences at Levine's... Definitely my first choice from here out.

Our twins were born 3 months premature. The nurses and the doctor's in the NICU are just amazing. Our babies were their babies. Every step, they were all very emotional with us. The happy times, the sad times, they were our family. One day I will never forget, when my daughter was very sick, I asked the Dr what I could do to help her. He told me "pray!" That's when I knew we were with the right people!

We were sent to Novant Hemby Children's ER by my daughter's physician. My daughter was placed in a room at 12:00 p.m. There was very little communication between staff and us. One doctor popped in for five minutes around 2:30. We waited, waited and waited. Why did we not receive updates? Just drop by and tell us the doctor ordered additional tests or tell us SOMETHING! Communication is crucial!!! Another doctor finally arrived around 7 p.m. This doctor was awesome, and answered all of our questions. My concern is COMMUNICATION. An update from the staff from time to time gives reassurance and peace of mind. On another note, there was dried up blood and trash on the floor of the room when we arrived. If another visit to the ER is necessary, I think we will go to Atrium Levine Children's Hospital.

Dr York, when told a 2 year old injured his hip, insisted it was his knee and sent the baby home, then when returned, insisting its his hip - he is saying this - she insists via x-ray the LOWER LEG is fine - no its his HIP - so she says "maybe the ankle" and x-rays his ankle! she had to be forced to x-ray his hip - where he had a serious fracture and break so bad he needed a new hip and femur surgery. this 2 year old was sent home to continue to injure his bad break more and more because she would not listen and is a know it all. she put his life at risk. transferred care to ortho Carolina immediately and never went back. PARENTS BEWARE

After almost 4 hours in ER with a 3 yr old in distressed breathing with high fever, was discharged with diagnosis of upper respiratory infection. By the next day, back at pediatrician due to worsening of illness. Had pneumonia and a right ear infection about to rupture because it was so bad. Tried to handle this with team manager in a professional way. No return phone calls as promised after a week! Called again today and after being transferred around and placed on hold, was eventually hung up on.. :-( Pneumonia is dangerous/deadly in young and old... Would not recommend this place to anyone after this experience!

If you have an emergency, by all means DO NOT GO to the Hemby Children's Emergency room. Our pediatrician sent us here for my son's suspected appendicitis. After a 2.5 hour wait, our son had still not received any tests and no updates. Then the staff acted rude and impatient that we had the nerve to ask for an update! Zero communication, zero sense of urgency. This place is for 'emergencies', right? Maybe it should be re-named Wait 3 Hours And We Will Still Do Nothing Room. One of the worst medical experiences we've ever had.

Overall good experience, friendly staff such as Brook, Hannah, Reagan, and Katelyn. However, we ordered lunch at 1:27 and received one plate at 3:00 and one at 3:10. Decent enough food, for a hospital had an Xbox, fridge, and microwave. Cute closet and room had a recliner, couch, and and good bed, and tv, but found mushroom in burger which wasn’t even an option for toppings, and the pasta had broccoli in it.

Daughter (9) had to have emergency appendectomy. Reception made my daughter get up and walk over to put a bracelet on her (when she was doubled over in pain) and they couldn't find a wheelchair. I really started to question the hospital but once we were seen everything was great! There was a wait for the OR but they kept us updated, my daughter really loved that someone came in and sat with her explaining everything they were going to do. Totally appreciated the family kitchen with coffee and ices, cereal etc... The nurses, techs and doctors were amazing! After we were discharged we realized we didn't get a written prescription and called there. They couldn't call it in but had a nurse that lived near us meet up with us on her way home...above and beyond.

We were visiting family out of town. We needed to have our 3 month old seen for a bad cough. I was nervous at first all the reviews for all the hospitals aren’t very highly rated. This hospital had the best rating. The er staff was amazing. We were there in a room not the waiting area for over 5 hours took about 3 hours before the doctor saw us then for the follow up test and results . But it is an er and while there they had someone come in by ambulance. Would highly recommend this Children’s er

Took my 1 week old daughter there last week because her temperature dropped and was seen immediately. The doctor and nurses that attended to her were very nice and very professional. My girl was admitted overnight and monitored to make sure she was able to stabilize her temperature on her own. It was first class service on top of the excellent care I got in labor and deliver upstairs a few days prior. Novant has not failed me yet and and my experience at novant randolph obgyn for pre natal care, Presbyterian for delivery and hembys for my daughter post natal i will give 10 stars if I could

We were call and stayed in the room for 3 hours and when I asked the counter lady if she know how long do i still need to wait, she just give me the look and said, I don’t know, it’s time to change shift. If you are worried about your kid and came to ER. Do not go here.

**If the doctors a violate your rights or cause issues report them to the North Carolina Medical Board and make sure you have them investigated!** ***Update*** I reported the hospital to governing bodies, when we finally got out medical records back, they gave our daughter one diagnosis, when contacted by the Attorney General, they told them that she had another. I am fearful that they changed her diagnosis with other governing bodies, which is not only unethical, but is misleading. There is no reason a hospital should be abusing it's position and relationship to people like this! This is the worst hospital that I have ever been to. On 10/31, without knowledge nor consent, my family was sent here. My daughter had nothing wrong with her and though we asked to leave they would not let us leave. Though my husband and I voiced our concerns and that we would like to be able to leave, we were given no advocate to discuss our concerns, we were offered no diplomatic options. The staff was rude to me because I am black, and I am a First time mother. I was yelled at and the environment was hostile, I was only made to feel anxious and frightened. My husband was fearful and did not know what was going to happen to me or our daughter. As a woman of color that worked very hard to organize and advocate for women's health and support, I advise every woman, every woman of color, and every family, do not bring your child here. Go to another hospital, they have no regard for how their actions effect the people they abuse.
