Outstanding knowledgeable staff...security, nurses, doctors, even the staff in the cafeteria at 2am when you just need a cup of coffee to get through a long stressful night. Thank you for helping our 3 year old daughter, you are all truly amazing in every way!

This children's hospital loves every single child that comes through their doors. And it shows in the care and treatment of the patients and their families. I don't take my kids anywhere else!

My sister is currently in pcicu unit at musc. She had to have open heart surgery. Though I'm satisfied with the outcome of the surgery some of the nurses are not attentive at all. She did have a couple of really good nurses, but when they weren't here the care was horrible. The day of the surgery we were able to go back to see her I stood in the room an hour no one ever asked if I needed a chair. The alarms on the iv machine were going off the whole time. Nurses walked by like they didn't even hear them. Today I get here and my sister is in pain. It is now 9:20 she has been asking for something for pain since 8 this morning has also been waiting since 8 for something to drink and some jello. This is just ridiculous. I normally brag on this hospital. My sister has heart problems since she was a baby this is her 4th open heart surgery at this hospital. I'm very disappointed in the treatment this time around

Out of towners and had to come to Children's ER at midnight. This hospital was AMAZING. They were so good with my boy, treated him well and so professional. Not that I want to come back to an ER, but if we are in Charleston and have an emergency this is where we will come.

They treat parents horribly! The nurses are lazy ! no parent needs to go through this torture when we are already stressed about our baby being in the ICU. If you come here get ready to be treated like trash .

Just a note to thank both the er staff as well as the hemotogist staff. We recently had to take my 13 month old granddaughter to the er. She had an unexplained rash that started on the top of her head and was spreading. The er doc was amazing. He quickly realized something wasn't quite right and had an idea of what was wrong but if course there were quite a few test that needed to done to be sure and he was right. He admitted her and got her the treatment that she needed. The treatment we received was amazing. Not only were they kind caring and understanding they answered all our question with patience and great knowledge. Thank you all for the wonderful care we received.

I’ve had 3 heart surgeries since I was a baby all the surgeries were done by this doctor and my 3rd surgery I had to go into emergency open heart surgery and almost a near death experience but the surgeons, nurses, and doctors are amazing I was in icu for a week and the nurses were great. THANKS TO ALL THE MEDICAL STAFF AT MUSC!!!!!

As a mother of six and a pediatric nurse for 21 years at a REAL children's hospital, I am not impressed. Get with the times, MUSC. My newborn son was re admitted for elevated bilirubin as a direct result of mismanagement and lack of communication with the residents. Family centered care is a completely foreign concept here. One parent allowed to stay at bedside, no parents allowed to stay at all in the ICU. No privacy in the ICU, beds see rated by curtains. That is an infection control nightmare, and a HIPPA nightmare as well. The 1980s called and they want their hospital rooms back. They don't validate parking, even when you have traveled across the state to be with your child. They do not provideal meals or snacks for parents, even when you're and breastfeeding mom who is the soul food source for your infant, their patient, and are unable to leave because of that. The prices in the cafeteria are beyond ridiculous. Look to spend around 30 dollars per day to eat, as well as 6 dollars per day to park if you get the discount. The hospital is old and it shows. Not a lot of pride taken in the appearance of things. Walls and floors are banged and scratched up. It's a state hospital and it for sure shows. My own care was mismanaged as well post party and only the fact that I pay attention to my own care saved me from a bad situation. I will do anything I can to avoid ever bringing my kids or myself here again.

Drove two hours to have my daughter seen. A volunteer helped us find our way to the emergency room. The triage nurse was so patient with my cranky baby, she even came to our room to check on us before we left. Our nurse came in and immediately started Peppa Pig’s Christmas to keep the little one entertained. Saw two doctors which both made me feel like that cared about my daughter and my input. I could tell they worked very hard to get to the bottom of her issues and they took the time to explain everything to me and make me feel as comfortable as possible. We went to our regular pediatrician 6 times before finally making the trip. As a first time mom I was worried that I was just overreacting. Talking with the staff here left those insecurities at the door. I’ve never felt so heard by such a big hospital. Thank you guys for getting to the bottom of my daughters illness. Y’all are amazing.

My son Oakley is staying here first at the NICU now the SCN unit & I couldn’t feel happier that he’s there great environment, And great people who love their jobs so happy he’s here!

Labor and delivery- secure unit helps to ease any anxiety about potential threats to baby. Nurses are great, room is comfortable. Only 2 chairs in labor rooms, sofa and chair in postpartum. I appreciated how much they left me alone, the other hospital i delivered at was constantly interrupting to take vitals and other things. If i needed something the nurse was always there to answer my call.

Big thanks to the doctors, nurses, and the staff at MUSC children’s hospital for treating my six week old son. My son was taken to MUSC ICU via ambulance from a different hospital in town that was not equipped to deal with infants that young. I followed the ambulance by the time I parked the car my son was in the room surrounded by doctors and nurses trying to figure out what was wrong with him. The whole experience was traumatic for a parent, but the staff at MUSC worked around the clock to treat my child. The service was exceptional and everyone with came in contact was extremely nice, professional, and caring. Thank you very much guys you have literally saved my baby’s life.

I'm concerned about the bed bugs. I stayed in room 521 labor and delivery. I was not pleased. Left the hospital with a lot of bites. Awared the nurses because the baby had a couple bites. I was told it was a "baby rash" but yet I had them. So did my mother.

The worst children's hostipal. If you have any other choice do not take your child here. My 2 year old son broke his femur in 3 places at 10:00 a.m and was driven there by ambulance from another hospital at 4:00 on a Sunday. (They were notified he was on the way) They said the anesthesia dr leaves early so they cannot do anything until the morning and as long as there are no emergency calls. They made a 2 year old wait 24 hours in constant pain with a broken femur. How is that possible? 3rd world medical treatment. They needed to have him put in a cast when he arrived. Took an hour for a dr to even see him when he arrived. After speaking to a nurse they do NOT consider that an emergency. Unreal. Pray you never have to take your child there. Ever.

The absolute BEST! My one year old had been sick for a few days and after two visits to another ER I was extremely dissatisfied with the level of care and compassion. Decided to go MUSC’s Children’s ER (which should’ve been my first choice) and I couldnt have been more pleased. The staff was AMAZING , from registration to the nurses, doctors and residents. They made my baby as comfortable as they could, brought toys for her to play with, engaged with her and most of all, as a worried mom they made sure I was okay as well. They didn’t rush to give a diagnosis and they truly cared about getting her back to normal. Would give TEN stars if I could.

We brought our 2 month old son in a few weeks ago because he has an airway defect (Laryngomalacia) and was struggling very hard to breathe ... in the ER, his oxygen levels were a little low and they admitted us to the children's hospital... first, our room was disgusting. The shower was clogged and filled with an inch and half of standing nasty water. Nothing seemed clean. Also, there was no couch or pullout bed or anything for parents to sleep on. Parents obviously need to stay with their infant. All that our room had was literally a bench. Once we were admitted, they did an X-ray of my sons chest- they came back and told us that is showed he had pneumonia ( he did not have any fever). They treated him all night with IV antibiotics for pneumonia. BTW- it took over an hour, five nurses, and six sticks before they were able to get his IV in... while my son was screaming and gasping for air the entire time. The next morning they did another chest X-ray- they then came back in and told us that he DID NOT have pneumonia and the spot they were originally seeing was actually just a sticker that was left on his chest during the first scan. He was treated all night long for this for no reason... upon being told this and spending a night being treated for nothing, we were discharged with no real answers and just told to follow up with pediatrician. 5 weeks later and my son will be having surgery tomorrow for the airway issue they ignored. We brought him here because we have heard only great things about MUSC and especially their Children's department but we were very disappointed.

My 9 month old granddaughter had major surgery on Monday October 30. From the time we entered the facility until she went home the next day we were treated with the utmost care and compassion. I am so bad with names but everyone in the surgery team recovery and on 7A was wonderful. They kept us informed every hour while she was in surgery. In pre op we had the best counselor with us. Everything was explained so we knew exactly what to expect. The nurses on the floor are amazing. They took such good care if our sweet miss. I have nothing but praises for this outstanding facility and caregivers. Thank you so much for everything

We had to go to the children's Emergency Room because Both my children were sick. the doctors and nurses were amazing and fast. Everyone was so child friendly. My children got Gatorade and coloring books and crayons, stickers, and books while waiting on strep throat test results. They made the whole process one less stressful thing to worry about when you're worrying about your children. The TV had PBS on. The walls were colorful and kid friendly :) Great feeling knowing that I made the right decision coming to this hospital

The care has been top notch but MUSC's billing department is absolute garbage. It is almost like they are trying to take advantage of people who don't watch their finances closely. Everyone who has cared for us though has been great for the most part so don't be scared of the care just watch your bills and study your insurance and make sure they aren't trying to make you pay for something you shouldn't.

A wonderful hospital and everyone was so nice.
