I’m horrified and confused by this hospital. Never met ER staff more rude, lazy, uncaring, and incompetent. Long story short my brother did not receive the care that he needed and was treated horribly by the staff the whole time I was there. It took everything I had to not snap at the receptionist. Stay away if you have the choice!

took my grand boy to er last night, said he had ear infection, had to take him back to doctor today, ear was ruptured and had infection on other side. The only thing competent about McLeod is their billing department. The WORSE thing that has ever happened was McLeod taking over Loris Hospital.

The nurses and respiratory therapist was very nice and friendly however this rating is because of the doctor I saw in the ED tonight he was very rude, jumped into a conversation my daughter was having with me as he walked by the down then mocked her when he got down the hall loud enough she could hear him when she approached him letting him know we could hear him he threw his hands up in the air and shrugged his shoulders. Very Very unprofessional and needless to say as of tonight my family and I will no longer be going there due to this doctor. Dr. Morgan and Dr. Smith are awesome I truly wish it had been one of them I saw tonight

AS A SURGICAL PATIENT THERE IN FEBRUARY 2013. I WAS TREATED LIKE DIRT TO SAY THE LEAST. UNAUTHORIZED PROCEDURES WERE PERFORMED ON ME DURING SURGERY. THE NURSES CONTINUALLY TRIED TO STEAL MY NARCOTIC PAIN MEDICATION I HAD BROUGHT WITH ME. I SENT A SIGNED MEDICAL RELEASE TO LORIS HOSPITAL TO GET MY MEDICAL RECORDS BUT THEY ONLY SENT A PARTIAL REPORT. THEY CONTINUE TO DENY ME MY INFORMATION. AFTER MANY CALLS TO THE HOSPITAL AND ADMINISTRATION, I STILL HAVENT GOTTEN ANYWHERE. THEY LEAVE ME NO CHOICE BUT TO FILE A MEDICAL MALPRACTICE / NEGLIANCE CASE AGAINST THEM. I HAVE ALREADY FILED A COMPLAINT WITH DHEC AND AM IN THE PROCESS OF TALKING WITH DIFFERENT ATTORNEYS TO REPRESENT ME. IF YOU ARE IN NEED OF SURGERY OR A HOSPITAL, I HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU STAW AWAY FROM LORIS HOSPITAL AND DR. ANDREW GRUDZINSKI-ATLANTIC UROLOGY.

Visited this hospital for the first time today when I had to bring my dad to the emergency room. Our wait time was minimal and the care he received was excellent. Great staff all around. Would recommend this hospital to others.

Arrived at the ER last night at 11:30pm with my four year old and 70% of his body covered in hives and eyes swelling. He had Hives all around his mouth and I was wanting to have his airways checked for respiratory problems that can come with an allergic reaction. We did not and still do not know the thing in which he was having an allergic reaction too so as a mother I was VERY VERY displeased in the fact it took till 2:10am for the Doctor OR ANYONE to come in and check his breathing and tell me if his throat was closing from swelling or not. For almost three hours I had to sit in a room with my 4 yr old twins to just get his airways looked at, not knowing if he was breathing ok or if it was going to take a turn for the worse at any moment. It would have taken them 15 minutes when we walked in to do what they did and we could have been on our way to put our kids back in bed!! Highly highly disappointed. I will NEVER go back there.

I have a good relationship with my docs. I dont think I could ever replace them .Shame on this money worshiping hospital.Thats exactly how they got so big and can buy everybody out.

My sister-in-law was admitted into this hospital then caught sepsis and died from liver failure 4 days later. My visitation was restricted and the staff were disrespectful.

The facility has been under remodeling and looks much better and cleaner. But the staff at the hospital has always been exceptional from the registration to the recovery. I had three children and by chance of life events all of them at different locations. First had to be at MUSC and as we received a proper care we have not had personal attention like you would find at a smaller community hospital. People are truly caring and attentive. Best place and care we've had.

They keep billing the wrong insurance and billing me THOUSANDS of dollars! I have called 7 times about this problem and they REFUSE to use the correct insurance! They'll ruin my credit because they're INCOMPETENT AND MONEY HUNGRY! Not to mention that their services and doctors are absolute GARBAGE, they have no bedside manners, never take more than 5 mins with you even if you have a serious condition! They never explain anything and bill you for services they either failed to give you or you didn't need! If you care for your health and your wallet please stay away from that dumpster!

They took me straight in for a leg injury and promptly put an IV in my arm and told me I could not leave. I made it clear I had a driver and would rather ride in my own vehicle and was told I could not because they had already started treatment. They then kidnapped me in an ambulance and took me to another hospital that took severe advantage of my insurance. I felt like a meat ATM machine. The nurse who removed my clothes also stabbed me with shears while cutting off shorts I could easily remove. These hospital employees treated me like an animal and took nothing I said into consideration. Zero patient autonomy. I would have never been treated this way had I not had health insurance.

If I could give zero stars I would, but if you have to get a boil/abscess lanced DO NOT GO HERE! I use to have to get them lanced all the time and it wasn't until I moved to Charlotte, NC that I learned that they are suppose to let the numbing medicine actually settle in and work before they cut you open with the scalpel and if it doesn't they are suppose to administer more and wait a For years I was put through unnecessary PAIN all because they didn't know what they were doing. This is unacceptable and UNETHICAL. I DO NOT RECOMMEND! Trust me I'm from there.

I just got home from hospital and had an overall GREAT experience. Every single staff member was friendly and caring. Raymond Brown PA was amazing and I wish he could be my regular primary dr!

Billing dept. lies.. Went here for some testing.. They make you check in first at the billing dept. or whatever they call it.. Told me a huge amount of $1300+ for a CT scan. I had many done in the past for about half that amount and I refused.. I got up to leave and the lady said $850 (Give or take $10- $20). I accepted and paid in full.. 2 months later they bill me for the balance . I called and it was like talking to a wall. Never again.. I paid the balance and I am done with this place..

Loris hospital is the worst at time . You can be the only one here and it takes hours to be seen . They really have you here and don’t proper care . I hate coming here but it’s closer to home . They need to do better with they time and make you feel like nobody even knows you’ll waiting in the room to be seen .

Dawn Jezierski

My Dad is in ICU and the staff I met are excellent! They are caring and understanding. My dad hasn’t complained at all and he is 76. He would be the first one to say “get the hell out of here and these people suck etc”. No problem here what so ever

Rachael Holley

There's a serious lack of communication in this hospital. I'm in here for a kidney stone right now and I can't get a straight answer about what they are going to do to treat me. The rooms are rather old and barely maintained, this place needs some serious tlc. While the staff is nice, you can tell they've lost their spirit due to the terrible conditions of this place. Maybe they're in such a daze from it that it's the reason I can't get an answer about what's going on with me.

leah martin

Horrible!! Husband went after a fall of 2 stories and bc he had a scratch on his head, they went with the first thing to say. Slight concussion. And the whole time he is telling them his foot and ankle are hurt. He never saw any xrays. The Dr. NEVER even put her hands on him at all, he received no meds, not even a bandaid. Now we r getting bills of over $10,000!! I'm in shock!!

Worse place in the world

In previous visits I have been pleased with the service here. However, today those chose not to swab my husband for the flu and chose not to give him tamiflu. The PA said to me that tamiflu really didn't make a difference and the flu test were being held for children and the elderly. She did prescribe a pain medicine, nausea medicine, and a cough medicine. Really? He doesn't need the pain medication, we told you he wasn't coughing or nausous. Obviously, she wasnt listening to anything we told her. However, he was running a fever and tamiflu would hopefully shorten the length of his symptoms. After, we left we went to a doctor's office that could fit him in and got a script for tamiflu and the doctor could not believe what we were telling him. Yes we have insurance!

Did nothing to help me, violently throwing up, told security guard I was in bathroom when needed because I was getting sick, was then told I can't sit in the bathroom that I needed to throw up in a cup in the lobby in front of everyone. They were very cold and uncaring about my situation. HOUR of waiting while violently being sick in the lobby full of people IS NOT HOW TO TREAT SOMEONE

I have went to this hospital and everytime they have done nothing. I will leave either not knowing what the problem is or not knowing how to treat it. I swear all the doctors know how to say is follow up with your primary care physician. It seems like the doctors and nurses have a compitition to see who can be the laziest. So next time I don’t care if I am an inch away from death I will either make it to Conway or grand strand or die trying

Sierra Bullard

John Farace

The staff is very rude and do not care about the patients. I would reccomend going to a different hospital for anything that will require treatment. The labor and delivery department is especially bad. Nurses are rude. April, one specific nurse is the rudest person I have ever come in contact with. She is not doing anything to make sure my wife stays comfortable through delivery

Bonnie Kimber

This hospital staff are great and caring. They couldn't do enough for me. They made my stay less stressful Cannot thank them or my Dr enough.

If you or someone you know and Love is experiencing mental, emotional depression/ aniexty or substance abuse problems please take them somewhere else. Lighthouse for substance abuse. While they claim to be a medical facility and these are medical diagnosis they will resent you and treat you as such. I've been clean and sober since but will never ask for help with depression and the behaviors that can accompany it again. Granted I was intoxicated but if someone would have sat down and listened to me boo-hoo would have done a lot more good than physically shoving me into isolation considering I was already emotionally overwhelmed. And the attitude at your mental hospital at Darlington helped further cement my mouth closed. It is extremely obvious I had caregiver stress/ burnout/ or syndrome.
