They will bill you for their mistakes. Because they screw up your info on insurance and it’ s denied, you are then billed. Told it was straightened out after taking paperwork to business office, to prove DOB, but now the debt collectors continue to call. Have spent lots of time on the phone and at that horrid place, still no resolution.

I visited my grandmother in the ICU recently. A few of the nurses were extremely rude. There was this particular one, last name Petite, who administered dialysis to my grandmother. She kept coughing in her hand and touching the equipment without washing her hands. I couldn't believe my eyes! How unsanitary?! Quality of care is horrible at this place.

Pam Williams

Wonderful experience with outpatient surgery from the check in , nurses, nurse anaesthetist, OR, and recovery. Not to mention how excellent the provider was. I highly recommend Carolina Pines.

Super thankful for having a hospital close by in the event of an emergency but giving this a 1 Star is more than they deserve considering the poor service the ER provided! Really disappointing!!!!

Aubrey Clark

The locals don't call this place Pine Box for nothing. If you enjoy a hospital that staffs incompetent medical providers and has a complete disregard for patient outcomes, this is the place for you. They were recently bought out by a new company, hopefully they did their due diligence and will fix this place, otherwise the health department should shut it down.

I also asked for pain meds and it took about 2 hours to get them. I just had major surgery so by the time I got the meds I was in a lot of pain.

Excellent care!! My Dad was treated so well. Thank you to his great nurses. My family really loved the cafeteria too. We are blessed to have this hospital!

In er room for over two hours with chest pains and nobody came into my room to hook me up to a monitor not even a nurse has come in ... no vital signs taken no blood work . Dr came in checked my ears and sent home saying I had allergies . I went and picked my allergy med up at Walmart when the pharmacist asked if I was ok I told her I wasn’t feeling right she took my blood pressure and it was 171 over 111 ... looks like you get better care at Walmart then this hospital.

To whom it may concern, On November 24th around 1:30 pm I encountered the rudest and most unprofessional respiratory therapist Faye. My family and I are sitting with my aunt and this lady walks into the room without knocking and immediately starts working with my aunt without acknowledging who she is or her position. She then leaves out and comes back while the radiology technician is completing my aunts Chest X-ray. At this point we all are waiting outside until the technician finishes up. Let me add that the radiology technician came in and stated her name and the task she was going to perform. Once the technician finished we all went into the room and the respiratory therapist is drawing a blood gas and the reason I know this is because I’m a Registered Nurse. So I ask her her name and at this point I knew she was the therapist. When asked her name, she stated it and decided to spell it as if I was illiterate and with a disrespectful tone. I asked, “Why didn’t you acknowledge yourself when entering the room and she stated, “I’m dealing with her and pointed to my aunt.” As a healthcare professional myself I know the professional thing to do is always introduce yourself when entering a room for the first time and with family at the bedside. If the healthcare professional is unsure of who’s in the room they find out before doing any test or blood work on a patient because maybe those individuals would need to leave until completed. This individual chose to ignore the family members in the room as if we didn’t exist. Professionally that’s the rudest thing you can do to family members even more so when your family member is extremely sick. My other family members didn’t understand why she didn’t even acknowledge them. How can you be a healthcare provider and ignore family members during such a stressful time?? I understand patient care comes first but when entering first things first. I recall in 2014 having a similar experience with another respiratory therapist and couldn’t believe 4yrs later and it’s the same/similar experience. Seeing this happening to my family it’s probably happened to other families in this facility and it’s unacceptable. If a healthcare provider treats family this way, who’s to say the patients are being taken care of properly. That day the nurse Reyna was very personable and involved the family in the patient care. Also, Dr. Sponcellar was wonderful! He introduced himself and involved the patient and family in the plan of care. If the physician takes the time the respiratory therapist should also take the time and be held accountable. As I mentioned, she was very rude and unprofessional and I didn’t want to make my aunt upset because she’s already really sick but if it were me I would never let Faye be a therapist for me or anyone else in my family. The thing that saddens me is I don’t live in the area and not able to oversee everything that’s happening. Our job as healthcare providers are to provide excellent care and service to patients and families. Now maybe Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center has a different mission for providing patient/family care. Mutual respect (doing unto others as you would have them do unto you) is one of the values of the hospital and Faye was not an example of that. I felt this was necessary to bring to someone’s attention. I reported this to the PR department a few months ago and still haven’t heard anything back.

I went to visit one of our church members who was undergoing a minor medical procedure. The hospital staff were helpful and friendly as I search for my visitor. The facilities are well kept, clean and modern. I was around for lunch so I decided to have lunch in the cafeteria. The food was inexpensive and nutritious baked salmon, green peas and vegetables. If I had to visit again, I know I will be comfortable as a guest.

Perfect? Of course not, but some of these reviews are ridiculous. Proud to work here and trust them with my and my family's health care.

Judson Pahrez

If you can pay they are great, but if you don't have insurance they don't gare at all.

Was told to be at the hospital 30 minutes before my ultrasound appt. Still waiting over a hour later! Too bad we can't charge the hospital for our time

Shonda Mccray

My experience was terrible. No value!!! No Quality!!! No integrity!!! No value of person!!! Unsafe!!! I’ve spoken with the CEO quite a few times regarding my problem and there was no resolution. I was disappointed at the hospital and it’s service but more dispirited that no one showed any concern.

I had to take my 6 yr old yesterday after he was pushed off the monkey bars. There Wasnt a long wait maybe 20 mins and the doc was very good he interacted with my son on his level so he didnt get scared , he had a conversation with my son while he checked him out and avoid scary words like stitches.

We came from out of state and I started experiencing sharp stomach pains this hospital was absolutely wonderful caring the nurses the staff we're all very attentive and took such good care of me I have been to many hospitals in my life and I have to say without a doubt they were absolutely amazing and truly cared about me as their patients

Bailey Vereen

I was sent here for dehydration and only needed fluids. I was placed in a pediatrics room and for starters my IV wasn't giving me any fluids. Doctor came in twice and didn't check until he exclaimed "Oh, that's not right." He didn't come back until my IV had backed up, cleared it up, only for the IV to back up again. If something as simple as being dehydrated can't be taken care of properly don't come here for anything else.

Amanda Steffy

Has the most delightful staff in an ER I’ve ever come across. I had to come via transport with my infant daughter. We were transported eventually to the children’s hospital but while we were there just wonderful. Nurse Megan walked in while we were resting and placed a warm blanket over us and checked on us continuously. I never once felt neglected! Absolutely 5 stars for hospitality!

Every doctor I encountered was very rude. I went in for chest pains and my left arm was numb. They told me they would run tests, but it was going to be a waste of my time and money and sent me home. They diagnosed me with anxiety. People in this town deserve a much better care facility.

Worst Hospital ever! Pine box is a well deserved name for this place! If you need medical care do what I an many many others from Hartsville do? Drive to McLeod you will get way better care!

Andrea Johnson

I just had surgery and everyone from beginning to end was great! Everyone was very positive and caring. My nurses were awesome. I never had to wait on anything. They were always very caring and explained things thoroughly. Thanks for making my experience great!

There are bad apples in every bunch. For the most part they have been great. Outpatient services, the wound center with Dr Banister and hassler have all treated me great 1 year ago I wouldn't have given such a rating but I think they are improving. The only part I have ever had a issue with was the E.R but they have also improved.

Worst hospital experience of my life. Young doctor was extremely rude and had no bedside manor. Unless I were on my death bed I will never go to this facility again....

My father was placed in the hospital yesterday.I called to check in on him today but no one answered in his room. I immediately called back and received someone at the information desk . The girl Jenny answered the phone and was so nasty and rude to me . She hung up the phone twice while I was requesting her to transfer the call . After waiting a few mins, I called back to explain to her how customer service works . She yelled at me saying "you are not going to talk to me any kind of way!" I request to speak with her manager and no one ever called me back . I will take this a step further.

My father was transferred from Morrell to Carolina Pines due to dehydration. My father has been in and out of the hospital for the past few months. When he was admitted I had so many people tell me to transfer him to Florence which is where he had been the other times. The care he received at Carolina Pines was exceptional. Being the only child I felt very comfortable leaving him at night to go home and get my rest. Dr. Bill had the best bedside manner of any Doctor I had come in contact with. I deeply thank the RN's and CNA's for giving my father exceptional care and me a piece of mind.

I was recently traveling from Rhode Island to Hartsville to visit a home I had recently purchased on the way down I developed extreme pain in my stomach and immediately went to the local hospital which turned out to be Carolina Pines. I have never in my life been treated with such care and compassion by a truly a caring staff. Every person me and my wife encountered from the receptionist to the ER nurses staff doctors we're incredibly professional and caring and took wonderful care of me and my wife I was admitted to do to acute pancreatitis and had to stay on the second floor for about 3 to 4 days the nurses and the staff and the doctor's were all amazing and took such good care of me I wish I could give them more than five stars truly caring people

Jennifer Pritchard

I don’t know what’s happened to this place. Definitely has went down hill. Felt like we had to convince the nurses and physician that he was actually in pain to actually get them to be a little more attentive. Just very disappointed at staff an physician there. I work at a doctors office myself an never would I ever treat anyone the way he was treated. I’m not saying everyone was rude because some were nice (but very few). I just hope one day one of ur family members or children come my way I will show you how to be respectful with a smile on ur face and get the job done. Note to the entrance of the ER where the ambulances in load there patients how many nurses does it take to look up and say right this way sir or ma’am. Just one that’s it. Instead we got 6 lazy nurses who didn’t want to look up and when one was finally ask she said “I don’t know where he’s going” and didn’t even attempt to find out where we were to go The EMS said to us “omg this is ridiculous” so kudos to “The Pine Box” you wear ur name proud and have earned it so continue on maybe one day y’all can figure it out, but until then I will drive right by onto Florence.

Debra Grooms

Lousy care, have to beg for help! Nurses standing in hall talking while my mom kept calling that she needed assistance. Took over 1 hour before someone finally came and acted mad that they were bothered. Needs to be closed! She needed ekg and tech kept asking why.

Took my son to the hospital last night and they so called checked for flu and all took him to his doctor today and come to find out he had the flu, punk eye in both eyes and left ear infection never taking him to that non hospital again

Michael Fitz Allen

The medical staff was efficient, polite and knowledgeable. I didn't think I would get this type of service and expertise at this regional facility. Small compared to a university setting but top notch. Wonderful experience

Mallory Sizemore

My sister went to this hospital for chest pains and numbness in her left arm and they told her they would run tests but would be a waste of money, being extremely unprofessional!!! Every nurse she seen was extremely rude to her, those patients deserve so much better care!! Horrible people and horrible visit.

My wife and I had to go there tonight. Yes we where seen quickly. The nurse was great did her job well. Yet when the doctor came in he made it clear he was not a foot doctor about five times. He didn't really look at her toes. Her blood pressure was high he never once said anything about it. We told him she is hey insulin-dependent diabetic. Not once he checked her sugar. Or asked if she was allergic to any medications. He also told us he only specialized in heart attacks. He quickly wrote her something and pushed us off on our way. And not asking could she take that certain and antibiotic all he asked her was smartly would she be able to keep it down since she's already throwing up in his Hospital. I'm not happy at all with these results at all. Very unhappy right now. It was honestly a waste of gas and time. Her toe is infected and she is diabetic and she gets pushed on her way because he don't do feet. This place makes me sick!!! And the only part of his name I can read is James. Know better do better . Just sick and unprofessional on your staff's part....

The worst hospital I have ever been to in my life. They show complete disregard for you health or for your life for that matter. If you do not have insurance you will be treated as a nuisance and left for hours before you receive any type of treatment. The entire hospital was filthy and completely nasty. The room I was in had not been swept or mopped in days it looked like and there was dried blood not only on the floor but on the sheets as well. I know people who have been so unfortunate to experience the hospital as well. It did not end well. They have let mental ill patients that have come in with self mutilation leave without any type of mental evaluation even when knowing they are a danger not only to themselves but others around them. Just let them walk out all willy nilly. They have also perform unnecessary surgeries on patients that do have insurance just to milk that money. They need to be shut down. It is appalling to me that a healthcare establishment is being run like a backwoods walmart. People deserve a better quality of healthcare in that town!

Amber Miles

This hospital sucks. I was there for 2 hours before I walked out. Everyone who came in after me was taken back and seen. I guess in order to be seen you have to wait till your pain gets so bad you can't take it anymore and call 911.

Haylea Powers

CPRMC is not my favorite and have had a few if not more dissatisfied experiences. Of course you're never going to have a great time at hospital but it's also not the place but staff and the way you are treated and taken care of. Last time there was with my child and was highly upset by rudeness and uncaring way dr. Was towards us.

WORST HOSPITAL THERE IS!!!! You could 've dying and they wouldn't care. First time I went there I had a stomach infection. "Doctor" (if you can call him that) walked in and just assumed I had acid reflux. My husband went there last night. Explained to the doctor multiple times how sick he was feeling and his response "you have allergies" really!? Why is this hospital even allowed to be in business. I tell you what they are good about. Charging you. For their horrible services. If I were you. I wouldn't even bother on going to this horrible place. Save your time. And money. And go somewhere else.

I am at a complete loss after having the misfortune of speaking with Lori Jones the Assistant Director of Nursing of their Acute Care Unit (2nd Floor) last evening (3/21/19) and have never encountered such hostility, rudeness, disrespect and condescension from anyone in a leadership capacity at this level in my life! Not only did she yell at me, she called me a liar, huffed under her breath, refused to answer my questions and subsequently threatened to call the police and report me for “harassment” solely because I had to call back several times after being disconnected by unit staff when they were attempting to transfer my call to her. She went on to accuse me of hanging up on the in house nursing supervisor when in fact my cell phone actually dropped the call however when I explained this to her was again called a liar and told “then you need to call from a land line!” Huh? I am aghast at this type of customer service and frankly left wondering how any hospital employee let alone an Assistant Director Of Nursing thinks this kind of interaction with the family member of one of their patients to be appropriate? Now I think I have a better understanding of why the floor staff are having patient care issues when this is the type of example the unit leadership chooses to demonstrate. My mother is 85 years old and as her healthcare surrogate I have the right to discuss every aspect of her care and relay my concerns to leadership without being threatened, demeaned and treated with total disregard and hostility. I’m my mom’s biggest advocate and should not have to sit ideally by and allow aspects of her care to derail without collaborating with those in charge of her current treatment. When I requested contact information for Lori Jones’ direct supervisor she told me no and said to call the switchboard. I asked what time my mom had her bath and why it was done during night shift I was told “doesn’t matter, she got one” however I think the icing on the cake had to be when I was trying to explain my frustration at how horrendously she was speaking to me Lori responded by saying “are you done giving me a pep talk?” and then agreed that I could quote her on that. So, Lori Jones, ADON I’m happy to quote you however would also like to suggest that your leadership team consider taking you back to the basics of nursing 101 and provide you with remedial training in what being a nurse is all about with a major focus on how to treat people with respect because based on my interaction, you are a shameful representation of Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center and their core values. Will NEVER allow my mom to be treated here ever again!

Never been treated with such disrespect! Last week I rushed to the ER after being informed my husband was in a car accident, I was in such shock and panic that I forgot my cell phone! After loading the kids up and arriving at the hospital I went back to the ER with my children. I was then stopped in the hallway by a nurse who said "mam you cant have those kids back here! You will have to wait in the lobby" she said it very rude and walked off. I had to stop for a moment and gather my thoughts of what to do. Before I could make my way to the lobby the second nurse approached me and was even ruder! She came up to me and said " Mam your going to have to wait in the lobby those kids cant be back here" I said Well cant I use your phone to call someone to pick them up? She replied "you can use the phone in the lobby" again she was very rude even worse then the first nurse. After making my way to the lobby and getting someone to pick my kids up I then approached the ER recieptionist and asked for a number where i could call and complain about the two rude nurses. She did in fact give me a number and i proceeded to go back to visist my husband. By the time I got back to his room they had taken him back for xrays. I stood there waiting for him when the third nurse came out and said "mam you cant just wait out here in the hallway" i replied and said well where would you like me to go? She replied " You can wait for him in his room" I then informed her that I had a corporate number and would be calling to let them know how I was treated that day she then replied "Thats fine would you like me to dail the number for you?" She was very rude and sarcastic. I can see why people from hartsville will travel all the way to Florence to Mcleod just to avoid Carolina Pines! Absolutely unbelievable! And I have spoke to someone from corporate that behavior is unacceptable!!!

Laura olds

My daughter went in with chest pains and numbness in left hand and fingers and was told BEFORE any test was administrated she was fine.. Nurses was rude and very unprofessional. WORST HOSPITAL EXPERIENCE EVER!!!

Darryl Powell

Long wait, under staffed, if you come here don't be dying, you will die in the waiting area.you think since MUSC bought them it would be better, if anything it's worst.

markus amoungus

They do lab and radiological tests pretty well. For routine emergencies they are fine. Need stitches or broke your arm, they can handle it. Anything else, find another place if at all possible. Also the most aggressive billing place of any hospital I've gone to. The bill just about beats you home. They don't care what the bill is, if you can't pay it in six months, you get sent to collections. We call in Carolina Pine Box for a reason.

YewLxZy

Hardly ever answers the phone.

Dr. Danzey, delivered my all four of my children here. I love the nurses and this will always be my favorite place.
