Came here for shortness of breath, still in the ER waiting room 1.5 hours later. This place is a joke.

Greg Cappannari

Asked before I checked in about MRIs was told up to doctors discretion. After I signed paper work when visited by dr was advised they don’t even have them at night! Put needle in me for an IV I never got. Left the same way I felt when walked in. But they’ll be sure to send me a big old bill. Totally feel like conned out of money. Looking forward to some fun calls with the billing department explaining this experience. Highly do not recommend coming here.

CeCe Lewis

Beyond frustrated!!!!! I was just calling to get a room number for a delivery to a patient. After 12 minutes of being on hold, I finally hung up. I wasn't ever able to speak to a person. I expect much more from a great hospital.

Gil Ballenger

I’ve been to the ER and numerous practices at St Francis and always received excellent care and am impressed with the professionalism of everyone I’ve interacted with.

Jessica Cummins

Everyone was nice but it seemed to take WAY too long to get anything taken care of. I had a 30 min IV and was there for 3 hours (wasn't checked on) and was convinced for a while that I have been forgotten about.

I've used this hospital for both of my pregnancies. The staff is amazing, respectful and attentive. I would recommend this hospital to anyone

jim Howard

Great treatment by a caring staff every time I've been to St. Francis.

Sharod Cobbs

I believe the staff here don't listen to what is coming out of a patient's mouth. I told them that naproxen doesn't work for me and them turn around and prescribed it for me. WHY, when I have 20 pills of that at home. Not a recommended place to visit for serious medical care.

LUIS ARROYO

3 hours in the waiting room and counting to be attended

FIVE HOURS LATER we had to leave to go to another hospital. The wait is absolutely ridiculous. My sister was never seen by anyone, and by the end was crying due to the pain of a cyst. All the admitting nurse could do was apologize and explain how busy they were with EMT and had to go in order of which people come in. Makes absolutely NO SENSE- why would you treat a woman with a cough before an infected cyst? The nurses did not care there was blood all...It’s an emergency room for a reason! Will never come her for any medical needs ever again-pls don’t waste your time and go somewhere else. Edit: drove to Mt. Pleasant and she was taken in immediately, treated within an hour.

Carlo Abate

The staff was amazing. Extremely cordial for a 2 am visit with a 4 year old with foot pain. We are from OH visiting on vacation and they were awesome to us. Made my very nervous 4 year old feel very comfortable. I am very thankful for their how they treated us!

My Dr ordered a sleep study and I have been waiting over two weeks for the sleep lab to call and get me scheduled. They never called me and even after I called them they never called me back. Not the first poor experience I’ve had in the last twelve months. I have a choice in my healthcare and don’t feel like I’m getting the service I should.

Skylar Babcock

I have never been treated so horribly in my life. I got to the er with a referral from my dr at 230 PM I got an mri along with a kid next to me at 4 PM. we both sat there until 7 PM after bing told it would only be 30 minutes. But because his father was a Dr He got seen and discharged BEFORE me. While I sat there with my 6 month old son for another hour and a half. Before I was finally seen. 6 hours I had to sit and wait. The nurses are rude. All they kept saying to me was I'm not the dr it's not my responsibility. I have a 6 month old who missed afternoon nap dinner time (he had to have formula instead of baby food) bath time and most of the evening with his father. I will never go there again.

Christopher Marcek

This is first time ive been to this location but ive been to downtown hospital and this one is nice. The staff were nice and courteous. Also nurses went out of their way to help. Jus wish doctors made more time to answer questions but other than that it was a good experience.

This place is not a place to go if you are in real need of medical care and quickly. I'm told by a Roper Urgent Care doctor that I might have diverticulitis and go to the ER asap. I sit in this uncomfortable place for 3½ hours. People that came in well after me were called back for medical care and treatment. Me? Nope. The only thing they did was enough to be able to generate a bill! And do you think the woman at the front 'window', who looked like she would rather be anywhere else but there, helps? Heck no! She just sat there and stared at me. When I tossed back the so called paperwork 'onto her desk' what do I hear? Someone else watching ask her if SHE'S okay? Seriously. I've been in pain for 4 straight days for this? Jeez I thought Trident was bad. Nope. This place used to be a good hospital. Now? Not so much. Oh by the way. Expecting people to call Kelly because they spoke the truth is sad. Why don't she call me instead?

jesse recinos

Dropped a large knife that landed tip first on my big toe. It was a really bad wound right at the joint where your toe pivots. Was treated like an addict by the doctor when I asked about a prescription for pain. I've never been more disrespected by a medical professional. Couple this with the absolute disgusting state of the room they put me in and it's a wonder they're still in business.

Mary Biggerstaff

I have been to St Francis hospital for 2 surgeries, an ER visit, and my daughter's birth. Each time the staff was great and I felt they truly cared about my comfort and recovery. Thank you for your compassionate care over the years!

Job Johnson

Bad emergency room visit. Very long wait and the staff was unprofessional. I expected a higher level of service.

Bonnie Cameron

Have been waiting over 3 hours to have an open incision looked at while others who have only mild symptoms and have come in after I did are going ahead of me. It's no longer about the quality of care or the patients.

Brooke Lane

The doctors gave my mother quality care and service. I could never thank them enough for the wonderful time, care, and genuine compassion they showed her.

Megan Miller

I’ve been waiting in the ER for two and a half hours for what is likely an ectopic pregnancy. I’ve had two previously, I’m currently 6 weeks pregnant, and if this one ruptures my remaining tube, not only am I at risk of internal bleeding, I’ll be effectively infertile. I told them everything when I came in, so they know the risks and I still haven’t even been called back for an ultrasound. While I’ve been sitting here the pain has gotten worse and still they won’t see me. There are other people here in bad shape who’ve been here for hours and patients from ambulances they’ve told the EMTs to leave in the hallway. This place is downright inhumane and you should go literally anywhere else if you can.

Tammi Roberts

Really awful bedside manner was nasty I could go into detail but it could take all day

Sarah Larsen

Lovely people! Lovely place!

Waiting in the doctors office for 5 hours for a 7 min procedure. The doctor couldn’t even do his job. Had to call in another doctor for help. Terrible visit. If you can, try to avoid this hospital. MUSC is by far the best hospital for professional assistance.

Michael Mcdonald

I use to like this hospital not anymore staff are rude and where people abuse pain pills and other stuff they dont wanna give you nothing especially if you really need it!!

Scott Marlowe

Took my son for a sports injury after a night of high school football. They were open on a Saturday and specialized in sports injuries. Thank you for taking your time on a Saturday to help a single dad out. Over the moon.

Tim Martin

One of the worst emergency rooms I have ever had the misfortune of going to from poor attiudes from staff including the Dr and nurses. After I had to tell at the er doctor to let him know I wasn't here for pain pills to look at my xray and tell me if there was a problem. Needless to say I have never been treated with such disrespect by any healthcare staff like I was at 31st francis hospital never go here if you can avoid it.

Mae Olson

This is the first emergency room to get my diagnosis right after weeks of going to other doctors. I had a great doctor who took all of my concerns seriously.

Consistently negative experiences.

Can I just say that doctors and nurses at this hospital are amazing and wonderful. I had a great experience with them a couple of months ago. What I can say is that im definitely unsatisfied with being harrassed by the billing department, demanding that I pay my full balance which is of course a ridiculous amount of money as it is. I told them repeatedly that I am working with my insurance and that I can't pay at the moment but I will pay my bill for sure. That didn't satisfy them apparently since for this entire last week and this week I have repeatedly gotten phone calls from your billing reps. Not once a day. But three times a day. Im getting sick of it since im at work when they call and no one I talk to is pleasant whatsoever on the phone. This is unacceptable. I shouldn't be harrassed repeatedly after telling them to go ahead and set up a payment plan and that im still working with my insurance on this. I shoukshou have to deal with this with it being the holiday season .I am beyond disgusted with them. They could be more sympathetic about it and so should the hospital but you know you want all the money you can get from people like me. Not only that but now there is a minimum amount of money we have pay for a monthly payment plan or pay in full. That's it..that's all the help your going to give people. Im beyond done with being harrassed. It's unacceptable and immoral.

Lynn Griffin

My first visit was great! Dr.Rosen is easy to talk to and his staff is very courteous. Thank you!

Brittany Smith

Delivered our daughter here in June. Beautiful, clean hospital with very warm, friendly staff. They made the experience perfect for us. Very happy with everything!

Sandy Wolfe

Best place to have a baby!! They honestly treated me like royalty. Dr. Hargrove is heavenly and hilarious.

Linda Williams

Tiffany McClain

Worst hospital ever. This is second time I've come in last 2 months. After 3 hour wait, finally left. Staff are robots and so uncaring.I felt like I was in jail, not a hospital. And anyone giving this hospital above a 2 is working there.

Chad Cordrey

This place is terrible!! Almost wished i didn’t come here!! Can’t believe how slow it is here!! I would recommend going elsewhere!!

Dionne Chu

Good experience .. I have my both child at st. Francis hospital, that Dr, staff everyone in there there are very nice , they taking care of me and my baby.. Thank you everyone who works there.

Affordables of Charleston

If you have an emergency don't go here! You will be four hours to be scene! Worst experience ever!

EMERGENCY ROOM was a nightmare!!! I have been in the main hospital for tests and to visit patients several times. I always thought the hospital was awesome. Yesterday I had a 3 month follow up at the Cancer Center next door, my blood pressure was stroke level. I was advised to go to ER immediately. As soon as I walked in the door I saw nothing but bad attitudes from employees. The line to check in was out the door, security yelled to clear doorway to keep door from opening...then yelled because we weren't in a single line. People waiting in line were treated like criminals visiting criminals. Only one person in a box booth checking people in, and fussing to sign front and back of paper. If you didn't sign the back...then she yelled at you. Two men in front of me, one couldn't speak English and had an earache. Employee handed paper in Spanish, his friend took it and said he can't read. ER check in woman kept saying he can read it...it's in Spanish...said it over and over. Security yelled have a seat your holding up the line. I saw the one man read the paper to the other and have him sign. He couldn't read and the employee shamed him because of it. If you leave the line...you go back to the end of line. I waited for an hour and a half. Several people that had just come in were called back. They didn't appear urgent. Then they called guy with earache that couldn't read. He was in front of me in line. I waited longer..and then told woman in window I was leaving. I was appalled at the two security guards and their attitudes, barking orders and yelling. No compassion at all. Most people go to ER for emergencies. I will never go back...and wouldn't advise anyone to visit this ER...very unorganized, stressful and bad attitudes. A real shame since the actual hospital itself is so awesome.

My wife received an operation there on December 20th. Dr. Heidi Sapp and the hospital staff were very professional, and we're very attentive to the job they were doing. During the two nights that she was there recovering, the nursing staff, Jackie, Jessica, and Christina were very caring and did a stellar job taking care of her. Especially Suzan Whiting, she was like an angel according to my wife, she says the hospital is very lucky to have her, because she was so caring and compassionate to the patients under her care. So we would very much recommend this hospital for your care!

Danielle Horstmann

We recently used St. Francis for my husband who had to have an appendectomy. I was pleased with the time it took to admit him and get him a room. I was very pleased and comfortable with his Doctor. He, as the patient, had some issues with the staff. He felt as if some of the staff were not as attentive as he thought they should have been. I was unable to stay over night with him to advocate on his behalf and assist but again I think overall, it was a good experience.

After Tri-County Radiology could not do a CT Scan due to a broken machine, St Francis took my 88 yr old mother as a walk-in (add on) at 3:30. It is now 6:15 and still waiting. The orders were ok for TriCounty but St Francis said they were coded incorrectly. Waiting on new orders which the Urgent faxed while I was on phone 10 minutes ago. Next time we will start at an ER because we would have been home by now - we have been at this since 1:00. The registration staff was great - the biggest complaint is not keeping folks informed about delays or what is going on. We have been sitting in the CT room for an hour with no one telling us what the delay was. The off going CT tech stopped by to let us know but no one else in this hour. Dr. Kelli Young and RN Kerry have me revising this review due to the great care in the ER on the follow up from the CT scan. They were very patient and attentive with mom- explaining everything they were doing.

Janetta Sheppard

Special thanks to all the Doctors, nurses, and nurse technicians, you all have treated me like a star. From the labor and delivery team, to the nurse & techs that take care of you after delivery. You are all amazing. I can't remember everyone's name, but if you worked 12/19/18-12/22/18 you probably crossed my path. I am forever grateful, Thanks. Keep up the great work! Love , Janetta Sheppard

Coming from a medical background in the military and civilian life, a total of 17 years, I'm critical of hospitals and their nurses and Doctors, I was admitted with a g.i. bleed , and close to critical , and the teams of nurses and assistants was beyond my expectations, especially on the step down i was on. Couldn't have asked for more immediate response care ,and compassionate understanding from all who cared for me, especially a wonderful R.N. named Mary, I remember she only works weekends and has a busy family life. Thank you Mary. Thank you St. Francis and everyone that helped me through that time. M.Tracy

Kristina Phipps

Went in for lab work that I did not want to do(it was for DHEC.) Very chaotic, the nurse drawing the labs had no idea what tubes to draw for what I needed to be tested for, so she drew extra labs that I got charged for! $700 to be tested for ZIKA?! Scratch that, they didn't even do the testing, that's the fee for collecting the blood! Shame on you Saint Francis! I will never come back here nor recommend this hospital!

har har fortnite battle

We were here on vacation and had to utilize the emergency room. This has been the worse hospital experience ever. People in the waiting room had been here for over 5 hours waiting to be seen. People never got called back the whole time I was there (3 hrs). They need to hire more staff, this is a joke.

Being a RN, I found that all the staff from the volunteers, registration staff, nurses, PCA 's , surgical team, my Surgeon Dr. Bailey, and his PA to be amazing!! I have not received such exceptional care since I lived in Louisville, Ky. The nursing staff answered my call lights right away and tended to my needs 100% of the time. Thank you to the spinal center for putting my anxieties at ease about having a major spinal surgery. Thank you so much, Brandy Smith

My review is for the doctors cause I’m highly disappointed!! My husband was standing on the side of the bed kind of rocking back and fourth in pain and I see the doctor just standing outside of the exam room peeping through the door just watching my husband I said are you the doctor?? (This isn’t our first time dealing with his nasty ass attitude)He said yeah, I asked him why you just standing there with a smirk watching him and how long was you standing there not helping. His response was “really, he’s in pain, people don’t usually dance around when there in pain” (you can’t tell someone how to deal with pain and you shouldn’t judge them on how they deal with pain) he also tried to say that my husband is addicted to morphine. But mind you he doesn’t even get morphine and why out the blue are you saying that he is an addict? It seems like he don’t believe that he’s really sick or something but he has test results and endoscopy pics showing that something really is wrong with him. I just don’t understand how a doctor could care that less of a patient. It was just a terrible upsetting experience. I wish I could remember the “doctors” name. So to MANAGEMENT Nobody wants to deal with a nasty attitude while there sick or have the person that’s suppose to help them get better just stand and watch them in pain with a smirk on his face... if you want positive feedback get a staff with a positive attitude

I can't believe I am going to say this, but Roper was worst than Trident. Had to wait for a long time, even though I was having an allergic reaction and had trouble breathing. When I was sent to a room, the lady gave me a gown and walked out the room. Did not hear from anyone nor was I greeted. I decided to call them using the red nurse button after 45 mins. Waited an addlt 45 min to be seen by the Doctor who admitted that he did not even read my chart. He did not even take the time to even scan thru my chart. Anything I told him, was either a uh huh or a nod. My pain level was a 10, so terrible that I can't even pick up my newborn. After I told them(bcuz they don't ever come to check on you), that I was a bit better they quickly sent me discharged papers. He gives me the same medicine, even though, it was not working. I asked him if there any other steroid I could take and he quickly said they are all the same and no. Then I asked for pain meds and he specifically said, I refused to give you anything for pain, bc the government yells at us. I explained that they have my blood, so they can clearly see I am drug free and I am not on no list. He then walks out as I am talking. He comes back with with the same attitude, we talk some more and then he walks out on me again. He comes back in after two mins and says he came back bcuz of what I said about him walking out and that he thought I was finished. Idk how he figured I was done when he didn't even asked me if I was and I was still talking. I was in tears from the terrible treatment. And I do not cry easily. I could go on and on about the little stuff that was unprofessional and disturbing, but I feel that what I shared thus far was more revelant. I will never go to the Hospital again and I will be making a complaint with patients advocates.

Tj Mccutcheon

I wouldn't give them 1 star if I could. Employees always standing around never tell you any info and like to keep you as long as possible and make you do test that has nothing to do with why you are there so they can run your insurance up. Wouldn't recommend to anybody. Plus the staff has a terrible attitude

Katie Osborne

My experience with this location had been an on going experience since April. I had gallbladder stones that would put me in the hospital every few weeks and every time I was there the staff was pleasant, there were rarely cleanliness issues, and they all seemed to actually care about me and my issues. I was admitted Saturday night and had my gallbladder removed Sunday after another severe episode, I was scheduled to have it removed 8/20 so we had to push it up. Dr Thomas was the BEST person I could have asked for to work on me, he explained everything to my husband and I before doing anything and made sure we were comfortable with the plan before proceeding, and the nurses in the 5th floor were a godsend!! Shout out to my scrubbed angels Nicole and Bev, these woman are exactly who you want taking care of you or your family in they're time of need. They treated me like a person and not just another name on a clip board. Dr Thomas, Bev and Nicole are perfect for their jobs. I hope they are recognized for the outstanding care and compassion they gave me. Not only did they treat me like I matter, they treated me husband like he was important too. They made sure he was comfortable sleeping in the chair/bed they have in the rooms, even let him stay in the room and sleep while I was in surgery. These women made it hard to leave yesterday when i was discharged. Thank you ALL on the 5th floor at Roper, and another shout out to nurse Brandon in the ER! He remembered me from my previous visits and seemed truly concerned with my situation. Never had a bad experience here.

They need a better hospitality program @ St. Francis similar to MUSC . I waited 7 hour or more to get home after a ER visit today, when they could have offered to put me up for the night add provide me with a taxi home in the morning. St.Francis, Please, step up your game plan fast in the Hospitality department because, this was uncalled for and should have been handles in a caring matter, like putting them self in my footstep !!

They lost my wife !!!

Very friendly, courteous and excellent care

This is a very unfriendly hospital! My husband almost cut his thumb off today! So I meet him at the hospital with my kids. They bandage him and send him to the waiting room. We have a 2 year old daughters who was being a 2 year old.. we tried to keep her quiet we took her out side.. we can back in 2 minutes later.. the sercurity garud walks up and says you either keep her quiet or go outside or leave.. keep in mind my husbands hand is bleeding.. I said she is two it's hot out side.. you must not have kids! His response was my momma had 8 kids and could manage to keep us quiet! I said your liar! So we left and went to MUSC! This was our first experience and our last experience with this hospital! They are not kid friendly and they do not care about bleeding patients!

stephanie goodwin

Worst care ever. Went to ER Friday night and were tested for several things. Misdiagnosed and went back Saturday night. They repeated every single test and we found out that one test had been lost and the chest x-ray was cloudy and couldn't be read. Instead of taking the second x-ray while we were there, they sent us home. The diagnoses was pneumonia which was much worse after 24 hours. If there was a contest for the worst staff ever, the two shifts would certainly tie for first place.

Adam Ford

I came into the ER on a weekday evening. Long story short, my appendix was angry and had to come out. I waited about 100 seconds in the waiting room before I was in back. A few minutes later, I had blood drawn from my arm already. I met a doctor, the surgeon, the anesthesiologist, and about a dozen nurses... all of them were incredibly nice and considerate of my situation and comfort level. I could not have been any more pleased with this hospital.

Jennie Brown

Easy quick appointments and outstanding services

Augustus Clancularius

The doctors and staff are pretty amazing - the billing department is a nightmare; they double-bill, bill for the wrong procedures, apply payments improperly and just generally add confusion and delay at every possible instance. Roper folks, you must understand that medical insurance is on it's way out - it's a scam and a rip off and billing practices which satisfy insurance company requirements and legal requirements aren't good enough to satisfy a customer who is paying directly. Get your fecal matter consolidated - don't just charge randomly and tell customers they should be grateful the charges aren't higher. I am tired of double-checking every single charge every time and explaining to your billing and coding "specialists" exactly what they should have done - it's a nightmare dealing with you folks.

Paddy Scott

In ER 01/01 2019 possible urinary tract infection E.R personnel wonderful Really great Gave number to call for results as we live out of town. Connected to Medical Records which gave incredible obstacles to get results. WHICH we still have not received!! Very rude My husband is a physician and is incredulous as to the lack of empathy and patient consideration. As we are part time residents of the area we will definitely consider alternatives for future health care and freely offer our opinion to our neighbor on Johns Island

Carolyn McBane

Always great even though closer To Roper DT from James Island I'll drive distance to St. Francis.

afam zambrano

Customer service is awful

tareesa Fields

This was the worst experience ever. My head was really swollen and I had a fever etc.. After waiting In one room for 2.5 hours,I was then transferred to another waiting room for another 3 hours BEFORE I decided to leave and get some real emergency help. By this time I felt really weak and nauseous. Nobody seemed to care. I went to another hospital and was admitted right away.. and the staff was way nicer... If you value life go to another hospital..The short staffed hospital boils down to poor management. Get it together please!!

This hospital does not even deserve a 1 star rating. We came to the ER this morning at 10:20am because my girlfriend had been vomiting all morning long. After being checked in and having her vitals taken, it took 2 1/2 hours for her to see a doctor and then another 1/2 hour for the nurse to return and give her some medication for her nausea. While the entire time I was asking for help from anyone I could find, with only the response of "Sorry, that's not my job" or "Everyone else has been waiting that long too." It should not have taken that long for someone to see my girlfriend and to give her medication so she could have some relief. It is unbelievable the lack of effort and care that we have received today. If the ER is that busy to the point that someone with a real emergency has to wait 3 hours to get treated, you really need to hire more nurses and doctors. I know for sure that I will NEVER come back to this hospital again. I would rather go to a hospital that actually cares about their patients.

The Doctors and Nurses are fantastic and give outstanding care. The front office personnel in the Doctors offices are incompetent uniformed and cannot get it right. The are rude, will not return calls, cut you off while speaking to them. There is one thing they don’t get wrong no matter what, that is insurance information and copay. After over 30 years of being a patient of St. Francis I am leaving to find another healthcare provider. It’s sad that you have to leave your family Doctor due to poor unqualified personnel.

Stephanie Stanley

Worst hospital EVER!!!!!!! Waited and Waited. Nurses sitting and laughing at desk. I know all about the nurses weekend plans sat and talked for hour and half. Rude very Rude

Kevin O'Kane

First, I want to say the medical and service staff at the hospital are great. Everything by the book. Quick, efficient, knowledgeable. Definitely the place to go for quality care. Second, their billing operation. In my opinion, it's from Hell. For the second time, I have been billed by the hospital or their lab (they use the same out of state billing firm, it appears) for an amount significantly different than what I was told they were allowed to charge. Both times, I have had to go thru Blue Cross to have the matter fixed.

Shari PEREZ

Emergency Room was fast ,friendly, and results . This hospital has been great to my husband and to me as well. I recommend this hospital to anyone that needs medical care.

Marie Todd

Very nice staff

Kim Smith

I have been in the hospital for a month and my dr, which is Dr Kenneth Mitchell is the best doctor ever, he really cares about his patients and he gets to know thems he can know what type of care they need. He needs a raise, very professional he made sure I had the best care, other doctors he had to call in was very caring also. He made sure I had the best nurses on the 5th floor, I have no complaints at all, the nurses need a raise also they gave me the best care. I dont like being in the hospital but Im glad I was in this one. I was in the west Ashley location. KIM S.

Amber Marie

I was admitted to the ER because I couldn't keep anything in from "both ends". Then, I developed a fever of 103. While the first room I was in took a while, the nurses made sure I was kept warm and comfortable. When asked if I wanted morphine for the pain, I requested to not have any because I suffer from horrible anxiety. The nurse was completely understanding and even broke down each medication she gave me after that, as well as telling me to let her know if I feel even the slightest bit of anxiety so she can check back. When I was admitted to my room for the next couple of nights, everyone was incredibly kind-down to the people who came to clean the room and give me food. I have never experienced such a caring staff. The physician I saw was polite, but very quick to get in and out. However, I understand that it's a hospital and he has a lot of patients to see. I was nervous when he said I could go home that day, because I still felt awful but he was correct. The nurses told me to take my time and helped me get dressed and another nice man wheeled me to my ride and helped me get in. Thank you all for everything that you do!

Mark Cote

Rachel Peariso

The nurse I had was rude. He ripped my ive out at the end. Never mentioned to the Dr that I was convulsing.

BRENT JONES

My review is solely on the billing the department. They are worse than a collection agency. They started calling me 4 days before I was scheduled for a MRI demanding payment. Essentially said if i didn't pay ahead of time, i couldn't get the MRI done. Now i have a MRI set up at Tricounty Radiology, and you pay when you show up like every other normal business. Needless to say, I will do everything in my ability to avoid services at this establishment.

Reason they got 1 star is because I had to rate it to write a review. This hospital is a joke. Waited 3 hours with a broken ankle to be put in a room with 3 other people and not even talk to a nurse. Then when I asked how long til I would talk to a nurse or dr I was told a dr hasn't signed up for me yet...... So I finally left. As I was leaving I passed 2 rooms where people who 1 person needed a strep test had already been seen by a dr and the other didn't come in til an hour after I'd been there and had already been seen by a dr. I will never in my life choose this hospital again. Not only do they not take pride in theyre patients, they walk around the halls with they're (excuse my language) thumbs up there ass's. Worst hospital ever!

My wife and I had a wonderful experience here with the birth of our daughter. The staff and accommodations were great. The only issue I had was the way after-hours entry was handled...I had to walk the length of the hospital to bring my wife a late night snack.

Went in for MRI . And it was a circus . Everyone talking about there personals issues goofing around . Not doing there job ! Got the iv. I even had to remind the lady to take blood for liver function test

Very satified with St.Francis Hospital

Terrible staff, terrible directions, the place looks like a strip mall more than a hospital. Crazy wait times and no one communicates with one another in the building, avoid at all cost

I recently had a family member who had to be seen at St. Francis Hospital in the Emergency Department. I cannot say enough great things about the care she received during her stay. They are a very busy place but the care my sister received in her critical time of need was outstanding, I was updated throughout her stay in the ER as they continued to treat her. I personally highly recommend this facility.

We have received prompt and fine medical attention every time we needed help. Thanks.

One for the books- in the worst way possible. The organization and level of care at this hospital is so frustrating- they should change there motto to hurry up and wait- because that's what you will do. We waited 5 hours to been seen by a doctor with a snarky attitude who walked out and we didn't see him again for another 4 hours... Had 6 different nurses in the time span we were there, only 2 who introduced themselves and were helpful. You have to make sure you put your foot down and be willing to stand up for yourself or the person your with- in the firmest but most sincere way possible or they will continue to ignore, walk all over you, or be rude. Their ER staff including their security needs to take the sticks that are shoved so far up their anuses and think about why they wanted to be nurses/doctors/security guards in the first place. Last time I checked, you go in to those positions to help people. Your professionals, act like it.

One of the filthiest emergency rooms I’ve ever been in! Along extremely rude intake staff! The PA was extremely rude and spent very little time with her assessment. Waited another 2 hours in an extremely uncomfortable chair. I asked if I needed to drive downtown to Roper to be seen and they moved me into a room to wait another hour so far. Yes the er Doctor did come in and touch me and said he had to check my tests and I have yet to see or hear from anybody in over an hour. I guess they think they have you by the balls when they move you. I hope the pictures prove just how bad this place truly is. Never again people never again! Alls I hear going on are people sitting at the desk discussing personal issues.

On vacation we had no choice but to go to the ER... on a Sunday afternoon. The staff was overworked and tired (flu season) and were still courdious and respectful to our out of state family. The ER doctor went out of his way to find a local orthopedic doctor for us to visit days later for a recasting. He called the oncall doctor on a Sunday and ensured we would be seen that week, even though we are out of state. We were not able to get her medical records that day because they are not opened on the weekend, so, a 2nd day we had to return for medical records. We were vacationing an hour away! It was the closest hospital to us! Two days of vacation lost. At least everyone was kind, efficient, and empathetic. The nursing staff gave us hand written directions to the closest open pharmacy at 6pm on a Sunday.

My mother who lives in west ashley was drove to the hospital last night by my brother after having severe stomach pain, sweating and vomiting and they could not find the emergency entrance, my mom fell on the ground in pain cryinf for help after the door she tried wouldnt open. She seen a lady walk by and cried for help and the lady ignored her, my brother came running back to her and they finally found the way to get in on the back side of the hospital. After a while she found out the lady that ignored her was a nurse that worked there!! They ended up giving her medicine to ease the pain but it is still not what my mother deserves from a hospital. It sounds like the has kidney stones or something related but they said they didnt see anything. This hospital better be lucky i live in North Carolina. I do not suggest anyone go here

Really happy with the way my wife was treated in this Hospital, the staff was amazing. Very pleased with everyone here. It was also clean.

Nuckie 71

The has got to be the worst hospital of all... The staff walks around like the have no clue on what's going on.... They all got the look of stupidity on their face... Seems like no one wants to do their jobs.... Please if you care for you and your love ones... Don't come to this trash dump....

Worst hospital ever!!! I was having a miscarriage and i had to wait 2 1/2 hours in the E.R. to be seen. This is so unprofessional and unethical.

Serena Cañas

I recently visited the Emergency Department and the woman (Kris or Chris) looked at me as she shook her head and said "Yes?" With the worst attitude I hAve ever seen. I am very disappointed when someone is in the ER the last thing they need is one of the Hospitals staff being extremely rude and unprofessional. As I told her I needed to be seen and handed her my papers from my previous visit that instructed me to come back to the ER for an ultrasound between a certain time, she snatches my paper and looks at it and says this isn't right you must have misunderstood. Then with her nasty attitude reads the paper and realizes I was right and shakes her head again. She then hands me the papers back and said it's going to be awhile again with an attitude and says wait Over there... are you kidding me? I've never met someone so rude in a hospital before. Extremely disappointed in this hospital.

I had a large stone in my gall bladder. I was admitted last night and had surgery to remove it this morning. The care I received in the emergency department was fantastic. Once Admitted, I also had excellent care from the nurses and surgeon. I had the same problem 3 years ago and went To MUSC and they did nothing. Saint Francis is my go to hospital from now on.

Robin Biermann

OMG! Women do NOT have your mammogram here! They do NOT clean their machine. My mom got an infection from getting her mammogram here. Roper you should be ashamed of yourself!

Michael Savino

We had an early morning visit. Staff was so friendly and kind and was always letting us know we were a priority to them. The specialists gave great help and understandable explanations and made quick knowledgeable decision to get my wife past her pain. Great facility close to home.

Jennifer Cuneo

Horrible hospital! Save time/frustration and make the drive to MUSC downtown. My father has been there close to 24 hours for one needed test. As of 2:30 pm he had only seen the ER doctor from the previous night and they are now, after 18 hours, not sure if the test they want to do will be safe. I also fear that keeping him overnight has been one big insurance scam. I am scared for them to do the test now, if they decide it is safe, as they are obviously incompetent! Read the other reviews, this is not a quality hospital!

Karen Jenkins

At last minute you get a call about a change I schedule 2hrs. Before and then the nurse is very rude!

If I could give less then one star I most certainly would. This is my 3rd beyond terrible experience with this inconsiderate staff. My husband has severe gastritis, when he has flare ups, His GI always instructs him to go to the hospital for relief because they cant give IV in the doctors office. Well his way of coping with pain is moving around and yes, sometimes he may holler out because of the pain. and the staff cant stand that, they gather at the door laughing and shaking there head saying they never seen no one act like that, but who are they to tell someone how to deal with pain. They try to give him schizophrenia medicine to calm him down, however it has a reverse effect on him and make him crazy, so since he denies that drug they automatically say" (why are they giving psyc meds for gastritis smh)well idk what to do to help him" as if they didn't go to school to help people with medical emergencies. The Doctors and nurses have no sense of compassion towards their pt's The security guards act more concern then the doc and nurses. It's really frustrating and I am just sick of this hospital and this will be the last time we give them the opportunity to treat us as if we are less than. Head nurse name is Kelly she ripped the IV out his arm because she was tired of him yelling so we said we would just go find help some other place with people who will actually take time with him and care. Honestly we get judged as soon as we walk in the door because we are a young black couple and they automatically think it's drugs smh when he has endoscopy pictures to prove that he has gastritis, and honestly it shouldn't have to be proven my husband was having a medical emergency and nobody at that hospital cared! I'm going through nursing school myself, idk how those nurses and doctors even got the job with their attitudes. I believe Kelly was the same one to rip the IV out once he denied the medicine he is allergic to, so it does me no good to call her. I've made complaints before and its still the same behavior, hence why y'all have 3 stars, and steady declining.

Worst hospital ever. After waiting in ER for 5 hours they finally decided to admit my mother. On visiting there was NO ONE to inform us where to go. Finally a security guard helped us find our way. No one anywhere to inform us. When we called to find out what room she had been transferred to they told us they had no record of her. Other relatives calling her were told they couldn't find out her condition without "the code" ????? Never told us what that was. Given two phone numbers to call the room. One didn't ring at all. The other constantly said all circuits were busy. Only gave one star because that was the lowest I could use.

Frank Mahoney

Very caring, friendly and professional.

Carla Square

Worst emergency room service ever, after being treated in triage i am currently waiting to see the Dr. almost 3 hours laters. I do not recommend coming here for any emergencies.

We were on vacation and my son was stung by a stingray. The entire staff couldn't have been nicer to us! Thank you for such wonderful care.

I had to take my girlfriend to St. Francis the other night due to chest pains. When we arrived she filled out all the paper work and checked-in without a problem. We were told that my girlfriend would see a doctor and get a chest X-ray and then we would be on our way. Little did we know that this short seeming visit would turn into 4 hours of hurry up and wait. Once the nurse called her back to check vitals everything went downhill from there . The nurse was by far the most unprofessional and rude individual I have ever encountered. She was very demanding and made my girlfriend very uncomfortable. She never once sterilized BEFORE or AFTER handling any of the equipment to check vitals or even before touching my girlfriend. And this included AFTER A URINE SAMPLE (which I will discuss more later). After vitals were checked they asked us to step back out into the waiting room because no available rooms were prepared. A room opened up fairly quick and we were escorted and waited for the doctor to come. A nurse told us there was a trauma and that all the doctors were busy at that time but that as soon as someone was available they would be back to help us. About 2 hours later the doctor came in. We pretty much had to restart the process because somehow the nurse that took a urine sample, lost the sample. They had no idea where the sample was or if it had even been thrown away. THEY COULDN'T EVEN FIND THE NURSE THAT TOOK THE URINE SAMPLE! They said she would have to give another sample before we could proceed to get an x-ray. Once my girlfriend gave ANOTHER urine sample, a different nurse came in to draw blood. She was the only person that was without a doubt professional and patient friendly. She talked to my girlfriend and made her more relaxed and welcomed. She is the reason this review gets more than one star. After urine and blood had been taken, they took my girlfriend back to get an x-ray. Once she returned they said it would be awhile because they had to check the x-ray and get the paper work done, which we had no problem. The nurse came into our room and said she would be administering an anti-inflamatory. She warned that the shot would hurt a bit and if my girlfriend was going to be okay. She told the nurse everything would be fine and the nurse gave her the shot and left to go fill out paper work. About 3 minutes after the shot my girlfriend turned paper white and passed out. I made it over to her bed in time and caught her before she hit the floor. I propped her up in the bed and went to get the nurse. I told her that she had passed out from the shot and the nurse came in and looked at her and asked if she was okay. My girlfriend said she hadn't eaten much that day and only had been drinking water, so the nurse said she would inform the doctor and left. Never once offered to get her anything that could possibly help with the dizziness. The nurse arrived back and said the doctor wasn't alarmed that she passed out and that he would be in shortly to discuss the x-ray. Once he got back he discussed the x-rays and then left where we waited on the nurse to bring back all the paper work and be discharged. I understand that there are times when patients have to wait before being seen and not everyone is going to get in and out right away. However, 4 hours for a chest x-ray seems ludicrous. I felt like we held up a room that someone with a more serious health issue could have been placed in. I grew up in a medical family and for over twenty years I have been in and out of hospitals with both parents. I have seen the good and bad but I have never witnessed a staff that was so disorganized and unwelcoming. It is a shame that our first visit here was unforgettable in a negative way. We would not recommend this place to anyone unless you are in critical condition or have no other possible option to travel to downtown or Mt Pleasant. I honestly hope the administration for Roper St. Francis actually reads their reviews instead of just having a review section for amusement.

Extremely gouged medical prices. $4500 for a CT Scan W/O contrast. $750 for one x-ray. $1800 to walk into the ER.This is AFTER the self pay discount. When i accused them of price goughing they went on the defensive and told me i have no idea how much it costs to run an ER. Well, i know one x-ray does not cost $750!!

I was scheduled for a Sleep Study and no one showed up to do it. waited for about 2 hours.

Don't use their emergency room. I don't even think they would care I say that. Less work for them. Unless you really WANT to be BARELY treated by smarmy "professionals".

I will never recommend this hospital to anyone! Beside the poor bedside manner in the birthing wing, the pure neglect of the surgeon who delivered my daughter not only gave me MRSA in my incision and it did not heal until six weeks later after having to have a DHEC nurse come to my home to pack my infected wound daily, but my daughter also got an infection from me being in labor too long. We both had to have antibiotics after delivery. They blew the vein in her hand so they had her iv hooked up in her scalp. They said her projectile vomiting was from over eating formula, but it was diagnosed two weeks later as acid reflux. From the infection at birth, she also got an infection in her eye that stayed from the day she was born until she was 4 months old. After the doctors in ER ignored CT SCANs from another hospital, they dismissed the abcsess on my left side while packing my stomach, which turned into a hole in my abdominal wall. Now 8 months later, I had to have a second surgery to repair the hole. I will NEVER in my life suggest anyone go here! They are careless, rude, and obviously unsanitary!

Truth

I've only been twice to the ER here and both times for my son who's under a year old. Both times we waited for he's. The first time I was worried he was having an allergic reaction and that his throat would swell shut and they told me he had drool rash (all over his body) after we waited for hrs. So I ended up taking him to his pediatrician at 8pm. The 2nd time he hit his head on a chair while pulling up on it and had a huge bruise & goose egg and the pediatrician told us to take him to the ER again. So we waited 3hrs before giving up and bringing him to MUSC.
