My wife went to this facility this morning. We just moved to RI and have BC/BS . She was told that she needed a referral from her primary care Dr. in order for her insurance to cover this visit. My wife called the office of her future primary care physician whom she has an appointment with on 1/17/19 and was told that they could not give her a referral because she had not been seen there. She asked if they could see her and was told that they had no appointments available this week. Needless to say we left Ocean State Urgent Care. My wife called BC/BS as soon as we got home and was informed that a simple phone call from the facility would have informed them that she was in fact covered in full with a $60.00 co pay. The insurance agent then called the facility and came back to say that the person that was at the front window was hostile towards him and tried to transfer him to anyone else just to get him off her line. If she would have taken the time to call BC/BS my wife would have been seen with no issue.

I sent my mother to this practice for her lower abdominal pain and blood in urine. They told her they couldnt treat her symptoms and she would need to go to the E.R. 5-6 hours later the E.R. determines it's a UTI. I have never heard of an urgent care doing this, especially since I've worked in one. What a waste of a day.
