Long phone holds, and they don’t call you back. Have made several appointments where I will show up for the appointment and they tell me I don’t have an appointment that day or they booked me the wrong “kind” of appointment so I need to come back. Ridiculous. Have been waiting to have a procedure done for 2 months, finally have it booked, less than a week away and they call me to book the procedure, saying that there’s no appointment in their system and I must have confused it with another doctor... are you kidding me? Not even apologize, just blame me. Coincidentally my appointment that I must have been confused about was booked for a Tuesday at 2 and my doctor is only in the office Tuesday afternoons. But sure I must be confused (that’s sarcasm). Awful ancillary staff, but the doctors are great so there’s that.

Dr. Joanna Walker is a very gentle, caring and professional doctor. You are not rushed during exam. She not only listens to you but also explains her findings. I would definitely recommend her! The staff members in providence are rude. They don’t care. I personally find that the staff at RI Hospital to be this way. I would still recommend Dr. Walker. I try to get my appointments in East Greenwich. The staff at this location is always friendly.

After seeing a few of the negative reviews, I was braced for the worst. I can only assume that whatever the problems were at this office have been addressed. My experience couldn't have been better. The check in staff, nurses, residents and the doctor were all wonderful to me. I'm happy I found them.

Emily Ward

Long wait time after checking in and very difficult to refill prescriptions. Staff and doctors are okay. Will be looking for a new dermatologist.

Mike

Rude receptionist, unaccommodating. Maybe incompetent. Left before ever seeing a doctor.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The people here are really awkward, they don’t talk about my issue at all. They only ever talk about the medication that they want to provide me (which by the way has done nothing for me). They also told me that my issue was caused by one thing, and then my next visit they told me it was caused by a birth control. They clearly don’t know what they’re talking about if they told me two different stories. My issue has only gotten WORSE, rather than better even with the medication they’ve given me. When they looked at my problem, they wouldn’t do anything but just look and be done. They never said anything and they used google to give the definition of my issue and couldn’t tell me straight on how it appears on someone’s body.

This place just churns out appointments and takes no time to listen to your issue, only enough time to collect that co-pay. Gotta love paying to be patronized and dismissed.

I would not recommend this place. After having to keep looking at a receptionist with a piercing in her eyebrow which was giving me the heebie-jeebies, I finally saw the doctor who was in and out of my room in about two minutes. I don't know why I bothered to get undressed because she did not examine my body. If she did it was so fast I guess I missed it. I will find a dermatologist who actually does a thorough exam.

If I could give them zero stars, I would. My first appointment was moved from one office to a different one without a phone call, email or any sort of communication. So I had to reschedule that. Then my next follow up, regarding acne, the doctor didn't even look at my skin. I was in and out in less than 20 minutes but still had to pay the $25 co-pay. My next follow up was required in order to get a prescription refilled. They cancelled it without calling or sending an email. I got a letter in the mail 2 days after my appointment regarding the cancellation. I tried to reschedule since my medication was going to run out. They "couldn't fit me in" until 2 months later. I was sent to 3 other numbers to try and get an emergency refill to cover until my next appointment. No one ever answered or called back. On top of this any time I had an appointment, they would call the day before or day of asking if I could come in earlier. Every time I told them I couldn't because of my work schedule yet they would call multiple times after that until my appointment. This was the most ridiculous experience and I also believe to be the most unprofessional experience I have ever had with a dermatology office. I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING THIS OFFICE!!! Ultimately, I found a much better doctor outside of Boston who took me the same week I called. They also corrected the topical cream and oral medication dose I was on.

The reviews are true. Was sent on a wild goose chase to find this place on the hospital campus after the website was insufficient for help. I get there finally and they brush me off in apathetic mention of having tried to call to tell me my appointment was cancelled, but my phone number having been disconnected. Straight-up lie if I ever heard one. No heads-up about the doctor moving, even, or an attempt to reschedule me to see someone else there/that doctor elsewhere, just an unannounced cancellation. Again, listen to these 1-star reviews that wish they could be zeroes.

Second terrible experience with them. First being nearly 15 years ago, being made to wait nearly 2 hours no apology, no explanation.. Didn’t see a dermatologist for ages- got assigned to brown again last year. That went fine.... Today I wasted nearly an hour in traffic getting to north main only to be told my dermatologist left the practice and I don’t actually have an appointment, sorry, someone should have told you. Another 40 min in traffic going home from the non-appointment. I’m done with Brown Dermatology.

DO NOT GO here for skin care, The receptionist was dressed very unprofessionally with a dingy beanie on her head at the front counter And numerous piercings in her face if I could give them zero stars I would I called to schedule an appointment for my daughter and was told that they had one available that day at 4 PM and They gave me a couple of other appointment time options for that week and the next week, after I made the appointment whom ever I was speaking with just gave me the address and told me how to get there and that it was on the 10th floor when I arrive the secretary asked for my medical cards and ID I was dropped off that day by my husband so I did not have my license on me only my medical cards I was then told that they could not see my daughter that day because I did not have an ID and I remapped wow I wish someone had of Mentioned that to me when I was making the appointment and I would’ve been a lot more prepared she then told me that that was their mandatory policy and they tell everyone that when setting an appointment! ( obviously not) And I told her “OK I guess will be reschedule then”,then she then told me she would put it in as a reschedule( after I JUST asked her to) so I wouldn’t be charged a “fee” As if I was going to pay it ...She then proceeded to tell me that they didn’t have any more other slots available until a month from now even though a couple hours prior to going to my appointment there were a bunch of slots open, why would I purposely not bring the thing she asked me to bring and waste my own time and miss my own appointment ????....idiots

I was a patient at this practice for about 10 years up until 20 minutes ago. Virtually every appointment that I ever scheduled (typically one per year) was cancelled or rescheduled for one reason or another. Today I showed up for an appointment that I scheduled a year ago and was told that my appointment was cancelled because the doctor was on vacation. The unfriendly receptionist said that they sent me a mailer a few months ago. Well I moved ten months ago and the post office stopped forwarding my mail a few months ago. No phone call or email to verify that the cancellation was received by me? Utterly abysmal practice. The doctors are OK but whoever runs the practice doesn't know the first thing about professionalism. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere as I am now doing.

Once the practice changed to Brown Dermatology the service went downhill. Just trying to reach someone on the phone for any reason leaves you on hold for 15-30 min. Currently I am #12 in line. I am not sure why a group of physicians can not hire more administrative help. I have had countless issues with billing, scheduling, prescriptions and various paperwork. Also plan on waiting an hour for each appt. Even with an 8:15 appt, I waited 30 min in the waiting room and then another 30 min in the exam room. Looking for a new doctor NOT in this group!

I’ve seen dermatologist Joanna Walker here a couple times for skin exams. She is very kind and does a thorough exam taking time to examine my hundreds of moles. I had a bothersome mole she removed that healed very nicely too. I would definitely recommend her.

Went in for my second visit today, I have full medical and was treated great my first visit. There was some miscommunication with the receptionist at the front desk my second time. I was treated as if I did not have medical, the doctor was very sarcastic and unprofessional with her tone. I was pretty much written a prescription and told "if it works it works" VERY RUDE! I wondering why the doctor was treating me this way, when I left they tried to charge me full price for a visit ($300) when I gave her my medical it was free. My first visit I was told I would be seeing the doctor every 6 week's, my second I was told I will see you next year. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE!

No preop instructions no post op instructions. No antibiotics. Very unprofessional

Absolutely awful experience. Called 8 times for a prescription. Office staff gave the run around and even lied about filling the prescription which both CVS and my insurance company both said were never even sent. I would give them zero stars if it were an option. Dr. Chai needs to find another profession.

Had an appointment scheduled for 10:45am, show up to their “old” office in Riverside, unbeknownst to me, they’ve moved. Rush over to their “new” office on Wampanoag Trail, Dr. Chai doesn’t work there anymore. It’s 11:00am, I call to see if I can see her at their OTHER location on Eddy St., nothing available for weeks. Within 15 minutes and already moved to an appointment week later. Insane phone wait times, horrible communication. This place sucks.
