They were amazing....went as far as to be my mom's conduit in holding my hand..and a really good piece of chocolate along with requesting ((hugs)) from me throughout ( imagine that). At 57 I decided to get my first mammogram. All my adult life I've heard how painful it is, how uncomfortable and embarrassing it could be so when I did finally go, it was with much trepadation. However, from the moment I registered with the secretary, my fears were put at ease. Every person I came in contact with was positive and upbeat, the procedure was explained to me at length and any questions I had were answered with positivity. Every technician involved was professional yet easy to talk to. You're basically half naked during the procedure which can be uncomfortable but I was completely at ease. It took a total of maybe 20 minutes, there was absolutely NO pain involved, just a small bit uncomfortable but not one bit of pain. I was so very impressed with everyone who worked in that department, It was nothing like I had been told, I can even call it a pleasant experience, so much so that I scheduled my following year mammogram before I left. Prior to my my appointment I was stressed thinking about it and it turned out to be the easiest thing I had done all day. Any woman who fears going, don't!! Do it for yourself! This place is phenomenal and I highly recommend going here, the people were great, put me completely at ease, RIH is lucky to have these women working for them, they're all heroes in my book.
