I have been in kirkbride a couple of times it is a great rehab if you want to be on methadone maintenance THE SENIOR STAFF SUCH AS RALPH REALLY CARE THE PROBLEM IS THAT INSURANCE COMPANIES ARE RUSHING PATIENTS OUT W/OUT PROPER housing which leads patients to go back to there old ways &THEY NEED MORE LONG TERM COUNSELORS !!ALL IN ALL IF YOU WANT TO GET OFF OF OPIATES I WOULD RECOMMEND KIRKBRIDE !FOR OTHER ADDICTION I WOULD SAY ASK FOR A DIFFERENT REHABILITATION CENTER

I was referred to Kirkbryde from my insurance company (oh was I mortified!). I knew I needed a detox due to the medications I needed to taper off of. Methadone, Xanax and after my pill mill doctor who I was clueless about suddenly lost his license I thought I could get Percocet or OxyContin on the street to save me for an acute withdrawal. Long story short wound up with finding The DEVIL!! So detoxing off of methadone, the Devil’s drug and Xanax in their filthy dirty mice and bug infested basement. (Oh did I mention the stray cats and kittens that have gotten into the detox which is in the basement laundry room smelling horrible of cat urine and no windows for ventilation). Went in on a Friday, did not receive a pillow until Tuesday. Yes, 4 days beginning the worst detox of my life!! The nursing staff didn’t speak English they were Nigerian and with me being so deathly sick, they don’t have a clean working Water fountain (it has mold in it) so your 1st defense for life is water and you can’t even get a bottle of water! They don’t get you for you very important meds (which is imperative since you can die detoxing off of Xanax) nor will they make sure you eat. I had NO FOOD OR WATER FOR 5 days! I began to hallucinate after losing 10pounds from getting so sick! I’m 5’9 my weight is 135 I didn’t need to be losing weight. Outside of people living there treating it as their home instead of the facility it was intended for! Needless to say I left contacting my insurance company letting them know outside of mice, roaches unprofessional caregivers and no access to clean water 24/7 it should be closed down!! I went to Eagleville and received 100% better care. Please if you love your family don’t send them to Kirkbryde drugs are all over the Rehab. I’m not trying to down play this situation, it’s young kids who have PO’s and aren’t ready for real recovery and sobriety! I REALLY HOPE THIS HELPS! My apology for being so long!

I recently just stayed in patient ..at irkbride Center and when I finally came in off the streets I was broken , torn up and had very low self-esteem thinking things would get better while there, i was so wrong. The staff there was just extremely rude and talk to you like you were still a piece of trash with the exception of one Ashley Tart. Ashley is an amazing woman with a huge heart and she is a great asset to the kirkbride center. I wanted to leave the first night I got there but ended up completing and I don't think I would have had it not have been for Ashley I can go on here telling you a thousand things you guys need to change but I really just want to let you know the one good thing you do have and that was Ashley I want to let her know how grateful I was that she was there and that she took the time out to listen to me thank you so much Ashley Tart you are an amazing woman

The patients are given a lot of attention and are kept safe. The premises are spacious and comfortable. Staff is responsive and respectful. Great location.

My wife was there for some help. The Dr was inappropriate. White haired gentleman approximately 60 yrs old was completely unprofessional who kept staring at her legs while making sexist comments to the point that the girl next to her was going to say something. I foresee this gentleman associated with Kirkbride will eventually make the news for allegations akin to the experiences my wife had.

The most appropriate words for this place are decrepit, tacky, and unprofessional. The buildings have peeling paint, broken windows and the inside isn't much better. It is run down and dirty. While I didn't have problems with the front desk, they were very friendly... The problems seem to be with the therapists. Due to a family emergency I tried to contact someone there. I left a lengthy voicemail and never received a call. I had to call again and finally reached someone who was snide over the phone. When I keep hearing the statement, "I have to look out for myself!" This must be taught in therapy. Fabulous, so most family members of addicts are the ones who have suffered but the patients who basically have it made are told, "Look out for yourself!" How does this help the addict who is back in society? The next statement I will hear is, "I cannot work because I have to focus on my recovery." Every evening I receive a phone call at 9:30 pm. I have a 5 year old. That's really professional, have patients make phone calls in a common area, standing in line yelling at the person who is on the phone that is held together with scotch tape. There is very no timer set or a staff member monitoring everything. There has been no family therapy set up, no long term goals, no discharge date. Is this bottom of the barrel care? You bet! Of course when a hospital accepts MA, then that is the excuse for a bad program.

The place should be condemned. Nobody had hot water for the entire time being treated. The staff treated people like we were in a jail. The food was barely edible and got food poisoning the 3rd week in. I was told numerous times by the staff that if I didn't like it than I can leave. I wasn't expecting to be pampered but treated like a human yes. I wouldn't send my dog there.

Good luck TRYING to EVER contact your child at this place. The staff NEVER gives your phone number to your child even though I've tried on AT LEAST 3 occassions. The staff could care less!!! You leave a voice message and nothing. Most of the time the phone rings and rings and NOBODY answers!! I will give this one more try then I will be reporting this to the city and the state authorities!!

What a platform and arena to be used for the resources that have been made to save the lives of the people effected by co-occurring diseases and the opiate epidemic. The current daily value is fluid and as good as the people who inhabit the location and the investment of the employees. Our fears separate. Our Hearts Unite. Tommy Saint James

It is a somewhat dated facility with a hospital type model. The care is adequate and it is possible for clients to achieve some progress here. However, there are a number of dishcharged clients who have died, including my son. That is an unfortunate circumstance for many dealing with the problem of addiction but I feel there is more that Kirkbride could have done. The primary problem is that they discharged him to a recovery house which did not even meet the basic requirements of a sober facility and was not regulated. They were specifically asked about the post discharge problems and reassured us that they follow up and check out these facilities.

The place is co ed in some places which doesn't help some of the men concentrate on what they are there for. They have rules but dont follow them. They give bad advice as for the therapist that work there.. Do your job! I feel like I made a mistake sending a loved one there. He seems to be having just a time away from home more than a rehab. Insurance sucks and will send them anywhere to make thier buck

Rachel Plesnarski

This place saved my life. Staff is great but like all places their are addicts keep your valuables locked up.

The front desk staff is very unprofessional clients is not getting they drop off from they love one's nor they visits on Sunday's. I will never send anyone here for help. This is my second complaint against the front desk. Sunday the 10th they never even called up to my husband floor to let the staff know he had a visit. They are not doing anything about the front desk being unprofessional. Its many complaint about they front desk stuff/security but nothing is being done about they unprofessional acts.

Staff is very nice, however, that is not too important when u have other issues such as ventilation and food. Its always very cold in there, even in the summertime. I am a food person and I normally dont complain about food at all, untill I went to Kirkbride. The food is just plastic and taste horrible! I am so glad I was discharged as early as I did.

Love this please and the staff are so nice and kind i wish I could live there
